Sea Watch On the Ocean

We enjoyed our dinner here. It was fairly slow on a Sunday night. We had conch fritters as and they were good. They tasted like hush puppies. Our mains were good but very lightly seasoned. My vegetable sides did not taste salted and the potatoes were plain with no kind of sauce. The bread though…. It was something good. This place came across as a little pricy for the quality but it has a nice view and relaxed atmosphere. The service was good.

We had an amazing experience at this seafood restaurant! 🐟🦪 The food was incredibly delicious — fresh seafood, great flavors, and beautiful presentation. The service was warm, welcoming, and very fast — the staff were attentive and helpful the entire time. And the view from the terrace… stunning! Ocean breeze, palm trees, a perfect relaxing atmosphere. 🌴🌊✨ Highly recommend this place — and I will definitely come back again! ❤️

Had the new Year's Eve menu and was a little disappointed in the food. The grouper was dry, the vegetables were room temp. The lobster bisque was very good, mashed potatoes were average and the key lime pie at least finished the meal on a high note. The service and atmosphere were wonderful. The view is spectacular and worth the stop.

So.. first and foremost. If you go during the day, there is a wonderful view of the Ocean. Service was exceptional and it’s been a LONG time since I could say that. The con- I’d say the food was just ok. My filet didn’t have a ton of flavor, the portion for the amount of money paid wasn’t great. However, overall our experience was good because of the wonderful staff.

Awesome food, the grouper was flaky and delicious. World's best key lime pie, no question about it - so good it didn't even make it to this review as a whole piece as we couldn't stop eating it. Fresh bread at the table (pumpernickel and a sesame grain), incredible wine selection to pair with your meals. Very modestly price for the service and quality of food.

2 weeks ago I starting calling restaurants from West Palm Beach to Ft Lauderdale to make reservations for a small wedding party of 22 never realizing with all the restaurants out there that it was such a short notice. Every restaurant was booked and had big parties was not even interested in trying to accommodate and take our business. Until, I called Seawatch. I had been there many times in the past loved the food, view and atmosphere. Upon talking to the manager Jeanette she informed me like the others she had 3 large parties that evening and wasn’t able to take us. Hearing my frustration she paused, and said give me a minute. She got back on the phone and said to me “ Don’t you worry, I’m gonna make it happen for you” “I’m gonna move some things around and I’m gonna give you a beautiful table for all your party to be together. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! What a professional , compassionate and smart manager! When we arrived she greeted us like family 😊, we had a beautiful long table along the windows overlooking the ocean in a rustic room, candlelight on the table completely set up and done elegantly. The food was outstanding. (6 stars to The tuna tartare 😀) The servers were extremely attentive to our every need, including serving our cake! I can’t say enough good about the evening experience! And to Jeanette the manager can’t thank you enough for “Making it happen” so beautifully! Seawatch is Lucky to have you and I was too! Anyone who wants an absolutely terrific dining experience Seawatch is the place to go!! 👍🏻 😀

We visited as a group of four people, around 2pm on the 24th of September. I ordered the lobster bisque which was ok and a Salmon BLT which was plain terrible. Two slices of bread and some traces of salmon pressed together in a contact grill. The whole dry mess did cost $22 I think. When the waiter eventually came by to clear the table he wasn't asking why I didn't eat up or if everything had been alright. I had to point out to him that the BLT had been plain terrible. Though he didn't come by after having served our meals to check on us, he replied that I should have said this earlier and he wouldn't be able to return it to the chef. He then asked if we wanted coffees or desserts, BUT wasn't making any efforts to offer me or the group anything for free which would have been an expected gesture. Generally the service and food we had wasn't up to the reviews on here, neither price or quality wise. Disappointing at best!

We had dinner at Sea Watch, and honestly, for the price, I’ve eaten better. The grouper lacked flavor—it didn’t even seem to have basic seasoning like salt or pepper. The bouillabaisse was simple and just okay; edible, but not memorable, and I’ve definitely had much better versions elsewhere. The tuna tartare was ok. On a positive note, the lobster bisque was enjoyable, and the chocolate dessert was excellent—rich, smooth, and the best part of the meal. Overall, for the price, I’ve had better dining experiences. Cozy place, but the food could use more attention to flavor and detail.

I went to Sunday brunch with my mom at the outdoor dining location of the Sea Watch and we had a wonderful experience. The Sea Watch is a staple restaurant that has been around since my childhood. It's so refreshing to see this restaurant continuing to deliver fantastic food and service. On a side note, for the past two Thanksgivings, my family has dined there and their Thanksgiving dinner is fantastic! Today I had Cajun blackened Mahi Mahi with fresh vegetables and it was excellent! The fish was moist and succulent. The amount of Cajun seasoning was perfect - just enough spice to add an explosion of flavors but not too much to overpower the fish. It was excellent and I really enjoyed the fresh vegetables (green beans, carrots and yellow squash). The outdoor seating at this restaurant is truly special. You get all the breeze and smell of salt air and the view is spectacular. As usual, our server was great. He was a super friendly and attentive waiter.

I came here for happy hour with 3 girlfriends. They all ordered cocktails, which looked good. They have a happy hour menu with 6-7 items, chicken tacos, salmon sliders, fried calamari, tuna on a bed of lettuce. I had the tuna, which was fresh, but just 4 bite size pieces. The service was really poor and the waitress was not pleasant.

Beautiful Views, Forgettable Flavors Sea Watch on the Ocean in Fort Lauderdale has a setting that's hard to beat. From the upstairs terrace, the ocean stretches endlessly, with waves and sea breeze creating a perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening. The ambiance matches what you'd expect from a South Florida surf-and-turf spot: casual, low-frills, and comfortable. Service was attentive and pleasant, just right for the setting. Where the experience unraveled was the food. The seafood medley--lobster tail, scallops, and shrimp--was unfortunately overcooked and drowning in garlic butter. While the sauce had flavor, it overwhelmed the dish instead of enhancing it. The fried calamari, which should have been light and crisp, arrived limp and forgettable. The grilled swordfish, topped with Kalamata olives and basil, sounded promising but fell flat, with dry fish and uninspired flavors that never came together. The accompanying vegetables were the biggest letdown--cold, bland, and reminiscent of frozen supermarket sides rather than fresh accompaniments worthy of a seaside restaurant. For a meal that included two entrées, an appetizer, and a glass of wine, the $150 bill (tip included) felt far out of step with the quality on the plate. The setting alone earns Sea Watch a bump to two stars, but the food itself lands closer to one. When you have a location this stunning, the kitchen needs to rise to the occasion. Dinner here with two friends yesterday. Ambiance was great! We were seated at a corner table with windows open to a view of the water and a gentle breeze. Server was prompt and very helpful. My husband had the orange roughy, which he claimed to be the best he ever had. Our friends and I had the crab tostadas - yum! For dessert the four of us shared one huge piece of key lime pie - again among the best I've ever had. Clearly made with real key limes. Highly recommend this place.

This is a nice place for some ocean views. We were seated on the balcony, which is covered but still open and a perfect spot for ocean sights. I loved the appetizers - calamari was crispy, and the aioli paired very well with it. The conch fritters were delicious too. I tried their angel hair pasta with goat cheese, which was an interesting combination. I like goat cheese, but the consistency of it didn't really fit well with angel hair pasta. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend the drinks here. Overall, it's a nice spot, and the appetizers didn't disappoint. However, the entrees are a little pricey for the quality.

Solid food with excellent service and stunning views. We enjoyed a cocktail at the bar upstairs with a really lovely and funny bartender. That area had a slightly more neighborhood feel, which was very nice and appropriate for pre or post dinner drinks. Downstairs, we had dinner with breathtaking views at sunset. My sister and I even chatted it up with the table next to us! I think the food could have a little more TLC, as the flavors weren't particularly well developed, but hey, tons of butter and garlic on lobster?? Still a win! I really wanted dessert, but nothing really spoke to me. Still would go back solely for the ambiance.

We just had lunch at Sea Watch. The setting is beautiful, overlooking the un-touched wilderness, right next to the beach and Ocean. We got a table right in the sunroom with a great view of the water. Our server was bubbly and high energy....The lunch menu is limited as compared to the dinner menu. We got a blackened mahi-mahi and a Karen's club. Both were good but nothing to write home about. We also got a basket of free bread (one brown and one multi-grain)...they were not warm and they were also just average. Not a bad place to get a good meal...but not a WOW meal.....

Sea Watch is an iconic destination in South Florida. The building, recently renovated, is unique and beautiful. The location is directly on the beach. You have to go at least once! I visit Sea Watch 2-3 times a year. The food is very good. I really like their swordfish or blackened Mahi. Never dry or overcooked. The scallops were very good in a nice corn relish type sauce. My friends had chicken and a pasta dish. All reported good food. Service was a little lacking. I asked for a coffee refill several times before I got it. The congestion to check in at the lobby area was packed and disorganized. We were asked (party of 10) to wrap it up because the table was needed. Our table ordered three wine bottles and a number of us still had full glasses when asked to close out by a manager. (We had been there only two hours.) I think the service end of things could be much better and friendlier. Still, this is a place worth attending.

The main attraction at Sea Watch is of course the beautiful ocean views but what is equally good is the nice and friendly staff. I like the restaurant and the relaxed and comfortable old Florida vibe that is a remnant of the past and though the restaurant is very dated it has a quaint and unique quality. Well almost. Parking is free and easy and not many beachside restaurants offer this perk anymore. Unfortunately the food is lacking and each time I come here I keep my expectations in check to avoid any disappointments. I focus on drinks/wine and keep my orders simple and because of that the visit this week was fine and as expected. A smoked salmon appetizer was okay as was the calamari and while I've certainly had much better I've also had worse. A fish dish was not reaching average and I didn't bother to eat much. No problems, because the good views and service compensate for any kitchen shortcomings.

Sea Watch isn't just a restaurant.. it's an experience! From the moment we walked in, the ocean view set the tone, but it was the hospitality that made the night unforgettable. Jeanette was truly exceptional !!!! I've been to every top restaurant in the world and she is one of those rare managers who makes you feel like family while still delivering five-star service. She anticipated every need with a smile and made the whole evening flow effortlessly. It's rare to find a place that gets every detail right -- food, atmosphere, and most importantly service!! but Sea Watch does it effortlessly. Thanks to Jeanette and also Cindy, this was hands down one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in Fort Lauderdale. Can't wait to come back soon! Trust me trust me trust me hospitality isn't dead you just haven't been to Sea Watch! I went with a nice group of ladies for lunch for our last Psalm 23 meeting. I was so pleased with the lunch menu, Daniel the server was awesome, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was terrific. This was the first restaurant I went to for dinner when I moved here from NYC 4 days prior to 911. I had a phenomenal Cobb salad that was crisp, fresh and big enough to fill me up.

First off, we've been here several times before. I've had the crab cakes several times before for a main entree and previously they were amazing. Something has changed in the way the crab cakes are prepared. They are bigger; however, they are not better. They were a little greasy and they lacked the same flavor we're used to. Also now they come prepared in a bed of coleslaw which we could do without. In past visits I have never added anything to the crab cakes but this time I requested a side of remolaude sauce just to eat them. Hubby and I both ordered a dinner portion with two crab cakes with a side of vegetables including broccoli, carrots and squash which was ok. Needless to say we ate all of our food because it was still better than the crab cakes we've had at other places and they are a little pricey. When we visit Sea Watch again we won't be ordering the crab cakes again. It would have been nice to have warm bread as an opener for our meal. The bread was cold and hard. For drinks hubby had a glass of Moscato and I had Pellegrino. For dessert we had a slice of key lime pie and creme brûlée. Both were fantastic as expected. Our server was very attentive. The ambiance was pleasant as always with the main doing room separated from an outdoor patio. It's winter in South Florida so we appreciated the closed windows and the separation from a party room with loud music. You could only hear the music after we went outside which was nice. On past visits our rating was 5 stars but we agree on 3 stars for last night. We'll give Sea Watch 1 more try and see how it goes.

When I called to make the reservation and see what was available , the host answered with a "hello". I thought I had the wrong number and asked if I reached the restaurant and if she could check to see the availability; but there was only after 7PM. As I pondered on other restaurants availability and reviewed menus of what sounded different to entice my palate, I decided to choose this one. I phoned and the person said "hello" and I asked if I reached the restaurant. I did not realize there was valet parking, and just parked. We came in and waited to check in, but the host seemed preoccupied . I finally made my way there and gave my name , she looked and asked my name again and said okay it will be a little bit. It was now 7:15PM and my reservation was for 7:00 . There was a big family in front and several waiting, one that I noticed was before me. A young couple came in said they had 7:15 reservation. This couple did not even wait but a few minutes and they took them to a table. I questioned as to why they sat them before me , the host replied , " I don't know that was the manager ". I said my reservation was for 700Pm so why would they have gone in front of me and the others that were waiting before me. She stated , their reservation was at 7:00PM. I said, she said it was 7:15pm. The other 2 guests confirmed they heard her say 7:15. I said to the others maybe it's someone she personally knows that is why she took her first. The manager came up to sit another guests and I stopped her and questioned her about the couple she just took ahead of not only me but the other guests in front of me too . She said, "I just look at the ticket the hosts put there and showed me all of them on the counter in front of the hosts . She asked me my name and I told her but no match. The hosts said I thought you said... So she looked in the system for the reservation with my name . I actually put this one under my son since the other restaurant I said my name However, she confirmed my name when I told her the first time. The manager quickly stepped in and grabbed my reservation ticket and asked me to come. She called on another to take me to a table and then walked away. We were taken to the back at a big u shaped booth (which I prefer ) facing the ocean. Our server Gianna was amazing, she greeted us quickly and asked if we wanted anything to drink. She came back with our drinks and asked if we wanted any appetizers, but I said no I just wanted the entree since it was late and didn't want to wait longer. We gave her our order . I asked about 2 choices and she was very versed on the items on the menu. She asked if we wanted bread. She went to put the order in and came back with the bread in no time . My son decided he wanted an appetizer so I told her we changed our minds. She said no problem and said she will let them know and hold off on the food. I told her we did not want to wait that long . She said it would then all come together and it would not take long. I took her advice and said okay bring the appetizer first. We were eating the bread, one was a sesame whole grain and the other one was pumpernickel, which came to the table fresh and warm. The appetizer followed right behind. We ordered the calamari. It was tender to the taste and was mainly crispy, some of the batter came off when picking it up and dipping it , but still good. I ordered the Seafood Pappardelle Pasta from the choices I was trying to choose from , it said there were pecans, so I told the server anything with nuts I'm in. It was delicious. It came with a flat thick pasta, sauteed shrimp,scallops, and a lobster tail on top. It was tossed with asparagus, sun dried tomatoes , toasted pecans and roasted garlic with a parmigiana reggiano cheese. I did not see much of the veggies until it was almost at the bottom . I guess I needed to stir it but would've preferred more of the veggies and nuts anyway . It also had just 2 shrimp and quite a few scallops. I would definitely order this again it was so tasty. My son ordered the Riggatoni Sorrentina with chicken. It came with fresh tomato sauce,basil and parmigiano reggiano. It also has a focaccia bread with it. My son said it was really good . It now came to the dessert . I said let me see if anything pops out on the menu I saw the creme brulee and it had nutella in it, I was sold. Gianna said that's a great choice it is really good. Well she wasn't lying, it was so beyond delicious, this is coming from a person whose mom was born in France. The top was perfectly done . The Nutella was on the bottom as a layer. I only gave a rating lower because of the hosts . This is the first person guests will speak to on the phone and when they arrive , so they must have great customer service for the guests and be on top of things or they could turn away guests.

Sea Watch is one of the premier ocean view restaurants in the area. The menu provides a variety of seafood entrees. We had the calamari and bouillabaisse. Both were excellent. Jeanette is the perfect manager that ensures that every guest receives an excellent dining experience. The service is also outstanding. Every time we dine here, we are never disappointed!

Food and ocean view were outstanding. Entree and dessert were delicious and the ocean view was epic. Plenty of parking.

We had a great experience here, if you can catch the sunset by the water it is a wonderful experience. We had the filet mignon with scallops & they were delicious/filling. Definitely recommend for a great dining experience.

The service is always good. I like to bring my out of town guests here for the view of the beach & ocean; also because best parking in town! My two wishes are: replace the old filthy carpet already, and second: please change up the menu every so often. This menu is a bit tired already. The food is good but try some new dishes, please!

My sister had finally graduated high-school, and wanting to do something nice to celebrate; my family had invited me, my siblings, and brother in law all for a nice meal on the oceanside at Sea Watch at Fort Lauderdale. Going in, I was pretty hyped as my sister was actually proposed to her husband here before. The atmosphere inside felt very homey and had a classy wooden furnished interior. For starters, we ordered the calamari, spinach dip, and French onion soup. For dinner, we ordered 1x broiled grouper, 1x special of the day; Grouper stuffed with crab meat topped with buerre blanc sauce and served w/ green beans and mashed potatoes, 1x angel hair pasta with goat cheese and shrimp, 1x scallops with butter garlic sauce, and 2x ribeyes (noted to be one of the specials for the evening) requested medium rare. Going into my review, despite coming in with good feedback from online and my peers, we found our experience to be overrated. On the good side: the apps, for the most part, were pretty tasty; the calamari had a nice crispy exterior, tender, and came with a simple yet tasty soy infused sauce and creamy basil aioli. The French onion soup was the star of the night as it came with a flavorful savory and subtly sweet carmalized onion broth and nicely bubbled cheese on top! My lil sisters' pasta wasn't too heavy and just right; nice balance between the sweetness and acidicness from the white wine, tomatoes, and creamy goat cheese! On the disappointing side: the spinach dip was watered down and bland. The broiled grouper came with a decent butter sauce, but the fish itself was tough and underseasoned. The grouper with stuffed crab meat felt underwhelming, and potatoes tasted like snowballs. The scallops were cooked well, but we're overly on the peppery side. But the biggest disappointment of the meal was the ribeye as this was tough as shoe leather and not the best quality meat despite it being cooked medium rare. The meat also had a very gamey taste. Overall, we would've brought this up during our meal, but we didn't want to cause any ruckus given the special occasion. However, for a $350+ meal ($400+ including drinks), we had far higher expectations of the quality of the food tonight. Lastly, we informed the hostess upon arriving that it was a special occasion and inquired if they could bring a piece of cake over to celebrate. She noted it with the server, but this didn't happen at the end of the meal. For these reasons above, our final verdict of the Sea Watch in Fort Lauderdale was a 2/5.

Came here as a big group for a family members birthday dinner. The view outside is beautiful, the sun went down too fast to really enjoy it! Our server was extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. We had the calamari, spinach dip, cornbread (our servers fav) & I had the special of the night (grouper). It could have used a little bit more salt and were able to accommodate my black pepper allergy. We brought our own cake for dessert - they do charge a $1.50/pp cake cutting fee (which was fine) as we were a party of 10. Would definitely come back!

I ordered the seafood medley, and lobster bisque soup. The seafood was cooked to perfection. The soup was so thick when I got home and heated it up, it was so smooth and creamy. It's one of my favorites. The veggies were cooked really well. I enjoyed them. I can't wait to visit again. This was one of my mother's favorite places to eat. The food is very fresh.

My girlfriend's and I went for Sunday brunch today. Everything was perfect the atmosphere The view the food was spectacular. Very nice relaxing enjoyable brunch. Our server Carlo was the best.

You can't go wrong at Sea Watch. My husband and I enjoyed mojitos on the patio with a gorgeous view of the ocean before moving into the dining room. We sat side by side looking out the big picture window at the beach while we both enjoyed the surf and turf and glasses of delicious white wine. The steak and lobster were both perfectly cooked. We've never had a bad meal here and will continue to visit when in the area.

One of my favorite restaurants. I was here on Sunday with my hubby & elderly mom. She didn't like the idea of brunch because she always thinks you have to order drinks! I called the restaurant & was pleasantly surprised when they told me that they also have the regular lunch menu available. After seating us by a lovely view of the ocean, we all decided to order brunch. My mom ordered the American Breakfast & really enjoyed all of it. She loved how the onions were cooked just right with the potatoes. She also loved the fresh fruit served with her meal. I ordered the crab with avocado omelette. It was so delicious. I also enjoyed the fresh fruit with the meal. Hubby had the Lobster Benedict. Also raved about that. I'm planning on coming back with my ladies group soon for the brunch. Absolutely Outstanding!!!

I love Sea Watch! Most consistent food and service for many years. My hubby and I eat here on all the holidays so we can go walk on the beach afterwards. It's the most romantic dinner at night! The building is like a house on the beach. Great views from every seat! Crème brûlée is a must! It has a layer of dark chocolate hidden underneath...

Beautiful view! Came right at sunset . This place always has great service, great food and can't be beat ambiance , go upstairs and enjoy the fantastic view of the ocean , have a drink at the bar, their bar staff is 5 star all the way, they remember your name , your drink... amazing! Their blue cheese wedge salad is one of my favorites but I really haven't had anything here that wasn't really good! Lots of free parking or valet ... such a great location and matches all expectations of excellence!

Having MY 69TH BIRTHDAY here ,we decided to have our daughter in law birthday celebration here tonight. Great table, awesome service from ROBIN and Paula, even from adorable valet, Frankie! All the food was delicious! Our new fav place to celebrate and a beautiful view of the ocean and a full moon tonite! A perfect evening! Thank you, Seawatch!!!

Amazing food and service. Jennifer was fabulous and attentive on a busy Wednesday night. Blackened grouper, seawatch medley, filet, and scallops, every dish was fantastic. Wine down Wednesday was a huge surprise, half price bottles. Cannot wait to come back. We sat outside which is basically inside but the large windows were open and without the bugs.

Been here about 40 years. The quality wavered years ago But they got back on track And have excellent sea food prime meats. Small dishes All. Set in an old beachfront building If your there before dark The ocean and beach are right there Consistency is their key Try it you'll like it

Beautiful view, great service and exquisite food. The interior of the restaurant resembles a boat which is very cute. A nice wine selection is available alongside a small but delicious menu. Will definitely come back.

We have not been here in a few years and we now remember why. To start our server Beth was wonderful and attentive. But the reception desk was dismissive and not a smile on their faces not a good look at an expensive restaurant . The good quality has definitely gone down, had to send back soup and undercooked fshrimp in one dish and overcooked shrimp in another. Stars are for Beth.

Three of us ate dinner last night...all dinners were excellent; service was good.. The old fashioned was quite good...we had no wait for our table

Beautiful seating outside on the top floor overlooking the ocean , service was fast and polite , food was very good and cooked to perfection . Nice breeze and sunset really set the mood couldn't ask for a better place to dine with a view . The steak was very tasty and juicy cooked like requested would definitely come back again

Eh for being a $$$ restaurant expected more. No cocktail napkins on the table with our $22 drink, so the glass sweated all over the table. Both mine and mine husbands had broken straws. Had to ask for our bread basket halfway through our meal. Bread came cold and butter rock solid. Ordered the Original Sea Watch medley dish, shrimp was over cooked and chewy. For the price point feel like they could step up the experience. Our server was also in charge of running a busy bar area. Will not be adding this to our "must do" again while in Lauderdale by the Sea.

We have had dinner here many times over the past 20 years and have never been disappointed. My son ordered the char grilled octopus as an appetizer and the daily special of crab stuffed lobster tails as an entree. He loved both. Jen P was our server who was efficient and friendly and gave us the perfect balance of attention and privacy. Watching the sunset while looking out at the beach is always a perfect way to enjoy a delicious meal. We will be back soon.

We had such a special birthday celebration here for my grandma's birthday. Our server Heather was absolutely wonderful and we couldn't ask for better service. This restaurant has been around for 50 wonderful years and is legendary. The seafood is amazing! i loved the stuffed lobster, Caesar salad, and fish dip. They also brought out a wonderful Key Lime Pie which is one of the best I've ever had. Would highly recommend! also great sunset views! Thank you Sea Watch for a wonderful night and great memories!

Beautiful seaside restaurant with two stories and a lot of history. The menu has a variety of dishes from meats to seafood so there's something for everyone. The staff is friendly and quick to bring out your orders. The restaurant has been around for almost 50 years so a lot of locals frequent here. They have some customer favorites like the baked oysters which are delicious. The evening special I had was the mussels in tomato sauce. It comes with a side of amazing cheesy garlic bread and I asked for a second serving just to dip in the tasty sauce after finishing the mussels. The conch fritters were a little dry but paired with the two different sauces, it wasn't too bad. The fried calamari was a bit oily but nicely crisped. The crab cake had big chunks of crab meat and a heaping portion of slaw mix underneath. The tuna tataki was a little disappointing with the amount of tuna but the flavor was good. The drinks were all very strong but not very good for my palette. The ambiance here is relaxing and a nice place to just unwind. They also have great Happy Hour deals.

Delicious, fresh seafood. Hearty portions served at the ideal temperature for each dish. We started with fried calamari and conch fritter appetizers. The basil aioli and soy ginger sesame lime dipping sauces for the calamari were very tasty. I did get a discernible chunk of conch in the first bite of a fritter, but they were gummy inside and bit too well-browned outside. My dinner guest liked the fried calamari, but didn't care for the conch fritters. We both enjoyed Original Sea Watch Medley entrees that included a lobster tail, scallops and shrimp with grilled vegetables (yellow squash, carrots, green beans & red potatoes). That is until the huge flies appeared and wouldn't allow us to eat in peace! I plan on returning to try other menu items, including dessert. But will sit inside. The ocean view is spectacular. Our server and other team members were welcoming and attentive. The large parking lot with free self-parking or valet is convenient.

This month we opted to have dinner at the Sea Watch on the ocean. After checking out the menu, we asked our server what was the restaurant known for? She responded the Bouillabaisse, a fish stew originating from Marseille, France. Out of the seven, five chose the Bouillabaisse and the other one the sword fish and the snapper. I ordered the French onion soup and the Bouillabaisse, both were delicious. The French onion soup was rich and hearty, and the Bouillabaisse filled with shrimps, clams, scallops, calamari and a lobster tail. Our server Ashley was friendly, polite, efficient and professional. She came to our table more than a few times to ask us if we needed anything. Thanks to Steve a regular customer and member of the group, we discovered an excellent restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. We all had a great time!

If you live in south Florida this is definitely a stop worth checking out . I call it my sweet escape , it feels like you're on a vacation everytime . Perfect lunch spot, great seafood options . I personally had the fried calamari , along with fish and chips . Both dishes were delicious. The lychee martini was great ! The staff is very attentive . I love how large the restaurant is never feels overly crowded. I feel like I escaped to a beach house . The best part is that you can walk to the beach right after lunch and get your tan on .

Un excelente lugar. Para los aperitivos pedimos: Pastel de cangrejo. Dip de espinacas y alcachofas, ambos muy buenos. Disfrutamos de una excelente cena de mariscos, con la Bouillabaisse. Un sabroso caldo con langosta, camarones, vieiras, calamares, pescado fresco, almejas, mejillones, que tenía un sabor espectacular y muy apropiado para la fría noche, acompañado de un buen vino. Para terminar, de postre comimos: Bagatela Crème brûlée Las proporciones de la comida eran muy buenas. El ambiente y la atención son de 5 estrellas. Agradecemos a nuestra camarera Heather su buen servicio y su ayuda a la hora de elegir el menú. Un lugar recomendado para pasar una agradable velada.

Yesterday was my birthday and let's just saw this is another hidden gem my husband found. This place was nice the weather was lot great but the view was still amazing. Now the food is delicious and I left full well let me say that again we left full. The crab cake was great and loved the slaw but not the mandarins could have been left out. I think I became a fan of oysters because baby those were delicious and fresh. I almost order another serving of it. The lobster tails were so sweet and good. I know it may look different but those potatoes and veggies hit the spot. The blackened mahi was cooked to perfection and the sauce was like a curry and right on time. I definitely come again.

Sea Watch on the ocean, 6002 N. Ocean Blvd. Fort Lauderdale. In business for 50 years (yes, 50!) Sea Watch isn't trendy, but it's one of those rare oceanfront restaurants where the food outshines the panoramic view. There was not one misstep during my visit last night, but for those of you who don't feel like reading the details, here's my 3-word review: Old school perfection 90% of the time, I choose bar seating over table seating when I am dining out. I do that because I like to linger over a cocktail or a glass of wine before I even think about ordering food. If I do that in the dining room, I know that I am inhibiting the ability of the restaurant to turn that table over as quickly as they'd like. The upstairs bar at Sea Watch is a classic. No, the bar is not directly located in front of the windows, but there is a great view of the crashing waves from most of the seats, due to the elevated location of the bar and the bluff on which the restaurant is situated. Unlike so many restaurants these days, Sea Watch understands the power of a solid, value-packed happy hour. With 10 cocktails at $7-$8 and 6 glasses of wine weighing in at $6 each (with the same hefty pours as the $12-$16 glasses of wine on the regular menu), it's a true bargain. The happy hour wine is Canyon Road and while not my favorite Chardonnay by a long shot, how am I going to pass on $6 wine?! Full disclosure-I can easily drink copious amounts of inexpensive white wine, but I cannot stomach even one sip of cheapo red wine. We started off with perfectly tart, but balanced, Lemon Drop martinis, foregoing the sticky sweet, sugared rim that is typically considered part of the drink. The sun had not set at that point and the ocean waves were being whipped by a strong wind, so the white caps were impressive and truly contributed to the atmosphere. I love Sea Watch's take on lobster bisque, so of course we ordered 2 bowls. Unlike some of the heavy renditions offered at some fine dining establishments, it more closely resembles the lobster bisque at a little shack in Falmouth, MA that we used to get when a job sent me to live on Cape Cod 25+ years ago. Sea Watch's version is velvety but not heavy. The lobster flavor is pronounced, and I love it because there are no huge, tough chunks of lobster weighing it down (at far too many restaurants, lobster chunks in bisque tend to be cooked too long and are tough). Instead, there are plenty of smaller pieces. At a mere $10 a bowl, it's a great choice. We switched over to chardonnay at that point and agonized over the menu. It's very traditional on one hand, but also offers some interesting takes on popular seafood preparations. For instance, they do not offer the typical fried shrimp platter. Instead, they offer a shrimp tempura entrée served with mandarin peanut slaw. A couple sitting a few seats from us shared it and they proclaimed it was great, with plenty of crunch and was not over-battered. It was a huge portion and while I am not a fried shrimp aficionado, I filed it away for future reference. My husband chose the bouillabaisse, which was quite literally, a vat of seafood swimming in a spicy, addictive tomato-based broth, with a hint of the traditional Pernod. It was chocked full of fish, shrimp, scallops, lobster tail split into two pieces and calamari. I would be remiss if I did not point out that calamari is not a traditional inclusion in bouillabaisse. I hate calamari, but my husband likes it and said it was tender. The most remarkable thing about the dish was how perfectly everything was cooked. Nothing was overcooked and the texture was perfect. I liberally "sampled" the broth, and it was magnificent. I ordered the broiled seafood medley, as they call it. It's kinda like the Captain's Plate of days gone by. That dish was often the pièce de résistance of any serious seafood restaurant looking to cater to diners with fat wallets. The medley consisted of a generous portion of broiled shrimp, scallops and a lobster tail in a buttery, white wine sauce. Once again, the kitchen outdid themselves and each piece was meltingly tender, yet a little charred from the broiler. I could NEVER replicate this simple dish at home, because I'd be too busy quaffing wine to watch it closely and I'd overcook it. Not so with Sea Watch's chefs! For $41, it was a real treat and surpassed my memories of the dish I often ordered at so many restaurants where it used to be served. Total tab, before tip: $124.12 It's rare I get a check that small for so much impeccable prepared seafood, but I am not sure I can put a price on getting great service (courtesy of Samantha and Erin holding down the bar), sparkling fresh seafood and an atmosphere that is hard to replicate in the area. Yeah, there are plenty of beach-side restaurants to choose from, but what makes Sea Watch such a special place is that it sits atop a bluff and the ocean, with the crashing waves, making for a memorable meal and transporting experience.

Save your money. Spent $140 on NOTHING. THE PLACE:Located in Frt.Lauderdale with its own free parking lot - though valet available. Inside, it's a large beach house with high ceilings, beautiful large windows for plenty of light and ocean views. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. THE FOOD: Upon seating, water, bread and a generous amount of butter is brought to the table. For starters, we order the lobster bisque 1/5 (I would give it a negative 100, if I could), no lobster and tasted like table cream with some distant zest. The conch fritters 2/5 just ok. For entrees, we ordered the seared mahi mahi 3/5 the mahi-mahi was nicely seared, but the seasoning was basic. It tasted like old bay and that's about it. I came with boiled potatoes , carrots and broccoli - all which lacked salt and any type of flavor. My fiancé, ordered the medley which consisted of lobster tail, scallops, shrimp, accompanied by potatoes, broccoli, and carrots. Again, no seasoning whatsoever, no flavoring at all, no texture, we had to add salt and pepper, which I'm sure is the only seasoning they have in their kitchen. Apart from the food, being, absolutely bland, and resembling it to retirement home, the portions versus the price was shocking. The medley my fiancé ordered was $40 for absolutely nothing. We also ordered a drink which was strongly made, but nothing special about it in itself. In the end, I regrettably paid more than it deserved. THE SERVICE: The host & our waiter were all very nice.

The atmosphere was just lovely. It definitely has a great location right on the beach, even at night it was beautiful. It was packed for Tuesday night. We had a reservation and still had to wait about 20 minutes for our table. The parking was easy with a free parking lot out front. They also offered valet. The food was tasty. However, the portions were very small for the price. I assume it's because you are right on the beach. One person in the party got the swordfish and it was gone in 60 seconds. That's how small it was. All of the food tasted good. The prices are compatible to Miami prices, not Pompano Beach. We were disappointed with the size and left still hungry. The pasta dishes, however, were good portions. Dinner portions and prices were a turn off. We also had a server who kept making rude comments, I think she was trying to be funny but they were offensive and we didn't appreciate it. This may be a better location for lunch or brunch, when you can get day time views of the beach. You definitely come here for the views and atmosphere.

Let's sea what this place has to offer! A beautiful location in Fort Lauderdale. We sat outside and it had a beautiful view of the ocean. They have stairs to walk towards the beach and is the PERFECT picture taking moment. To eat we had the following: Crisp Calamari: wonderfully crispy comes with a basil aioli & soy ginger sesame sauce (practically a soy sauce with spices) honestly I've never tried calamari with soy sauce but it was the perfect match! The aioli wasn't a big wow factor for me but it was good. Spinach & Artichoke dip: comes with colorful chips. They are friendly with the cheese which is perfect. Really great flavor for everyone to share. The Seawatch medley: a mix of a lobster tail, shrimp & scallops in a garlic butter sauce. Comes with potatoes, geeen beans & carrots. Very yummy & fresh. Husband has the grilled shrimp & filet mignon. He said the meat was tender and shrimp were grilled perfectly. The dinner portions are on the smaller side. They do give you bread and with the appetizers we were full at the end of our dining experience. All the staff was very friendly and when asked for recommendations we needed up choosing what they recommended. Would visit again!

Wonderful dinner at Seawatch! Seat outside on the balcony and the views are lovely. The only thing better is the stuffed Grouper! YUMMY!
