Google
We recently dined at this vegan restaurant and tried a variety of dishes, including burgers, pasta, nachos, and enchiladas. The food had great flavor, but we felt that the amount of sauce and texture could have been improved across the dishes. Despite that, the overall experience was enjoyable—the ambiance was great, and the area itself had a really nice vibe. Definitely a spot worth visiting, and we’d consider coming back!

Google
The food was amazing! Good Vegan food is not easy to come by, But I was highly impressed w/ Seabirds! I ordered the pesto pasta and the grilled banana bread and they were both super delicious! Highly recommended!!

Google
Delicious and 100% vegan. Unique flavors and every single dish was incredible. Definitely recommend and would come back next time we come to California.

Google
Great casual vegan restaurant with a great food menu and drinks. Food is tasty and fresh. Ordered a burger, the nachos, and a salad - food was delicious and filling. Indoor and outdoor seating. Enjoyed our lunch here, would recommend!

Google
Situated in The Lab, an “anti-mall,” Seabirds was a great find on our trip from San Diego to LA. Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves vegan food and wants to try something different and new!

Google
The yummiest! My official birthday dinner spot for years now. I love coming here- you can count on quality. Favorites: purple potato taquitos, Jackfruit nachos, korean bibimbap bowl, enchiladas and tomato soup with grilled cheese!!! Skip the burgers, otherwise you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Here's my takeout enchiladas from today (beans on the side)

Google
Absolutely love this restaurant. It's my guiltless pleasure. The warm cauliflower salad was my favorite and highly recommend it. Staff is super friendly and frequently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely coming back!

Jim Trammell

Google
Vegan food that's very good. Peaceful atmosphere. Attentive service. Even non-vegans will like the nachos and the beet burger. The house salad was also very tasty. I'm looking forward to my next visit here to try the enchiladas.

Yelp
Truly one of the best vegan spots you will ever eat at. I have a milk allergy, anaphylactic, very severe and I have never once had an allergic reaction at this restaurant! I have eaten here so many times and I uber eats them all the time! The location is beautiful the staff is so kind. I am forever obsessed with their menu the cauliflower salad is delicious and the avocado tacos you can never fail. Thankyou seabirds for existing and always being so accommodating! 10/10 recommending to everyone always.

Yelp
This place is sooo good!! Came here on Saturday afternoon and had to wait about 30 mins to seat 5 people, but it was well worth the wait. I'm not vegetarian but I wanted to try this spot with my friends, and I didn't miss eating meat at all while I was here lol. We shared the Jackfruit Nachos and added guac and jalapeños on top, which really made the dish shine even more. It was soo delicious, I would come back just for this! We also got the Butternut Squash Enchiladas, Chilaquiles Roja, and tacos and really enjoyed the flavors of these as well. Highly recommend bringing anyone here, whether they're vegetarian or not. There's something here for everyone to enjoy!

Yelp
Came here for brunch with some friends. My fiancé and I shared the biscuit bomb and chilaquiles roja. We thought the biscuit bomb was ok and could have used some sauce because if was a little dry. We enjoyed the chilaquiles roja, the flavor was great. We also ordered the sparkling pear mocktail which was refreshing. The restaurant is located in the LAB Anti-Mall. There is indoor and outdoor seating options. The noise level wasn't too loud. The restaurant is dog friendly. One of our friends brought their dogs so we sat outside. One of the waitstaff even brought out a water bowl for the dogs so they were able to stay cool and hydrated. I would definitely recommend Seabirds Kitchen to any of my friends that are looking for a vegan or vegetarian meal in Orange County.

Yelp
We had dinner here for the first time and were very impressed with the food! We are not vegans, but wanted to try their food since my cousin raved about it. The zippy fries special was really flavorful (vegan cheese sauce with mushrooms over fries), and we enjoyed the avocado tacos, beet burger, and rigatoni entrees. The chocolate mousse made with avocado was tasty, as was the chocolate chip cookie. Unique iced teas and cocktails too. Service was fantastic. The parking lot gets very crowded, so give yourself time to find a spot if you have a dinner reservation.

Yelp
Food: Beets Me Burger (featured in the NY Times) contains house-made beet, shitake, and chia patty, melted almond butter, grilled onions, dill pickles, arugula, and herb mayo on a brioche bun with fries; Purple Potato Taquitos is made with chipotle sour cream, fermented curtido, cilantro, almond cotija; Beer Battered Avocado contains fried avocado, seabirds sauce, cabbage, red onion and lime; Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup is made with cashew gruyere, avo basil spread, american cheese on sourdough, with tomato soup Service: friendly, helpful waitstaff and everything is made-to-order Design: interiors continues The Lab vibe with exposed concrete floor, light celadon green walls with some colorful pink patterned accents and "Matisse-like" artwork; outdoor dining in the landscape & scaffolding Overall: if you want great vegan/vegetarian food that tastes great and good for you, then this is a must try spot at The Lab in Costa Mesa

Yelp
One of my favorite all-vegan restaurants in Orange County...and this is coming from a foodie who has migrated from the Bay Area through Eugene and Portland, OR, as well as Los Angeles. I've indulged in both delivery and dine-in here, with equally exquisite experiences. Menu itself is delightful, and it's hard to go wrong. That said, I can't help but play favorites... Necessary indulgences: -Tomato soup -Grilled cheese -Purple taquitos -Peach cobbler

Yelp
Sadly the Long Beach location is gone so an out of the way food detour was scheduled. Similar vegan menu at this location and they had these pop tart items at this location specifically and some new pasta. I had the jackfruit nachos and some of a beets me burger was shared. The burnt Brussel sprouts for $11 was kinda whatever and I've had better bagged then heated ones, were just too dry and no flavor sorry :'( The strawberry margarita was good and the little mall it's in is a cool concept, I would just skip the Brussels next time. Served quick and by friendly staff. Worth a stop and try

Yelp
Very happy to have found a place nearby with such amazing vegan eats. Getting into the...meat of the review I will say that overall the experience was good and the food was amazing. The beet burger and fries are pretty much what you expect, no more or less and hits that sandwich craving. The loaded nachos are fairly hefty, and as a flexitarian the jackfruit they add does an above-average job of imitating shredded pork or chicken. As you can see by the attached picture, the heavy guac is much appreciated. The star of the show for us, though, had to be the pesto dish. Perfect al dente penne with a savory additions to an already solid pesto. Highly recommended. Given the location and ingredients, the prices are obviously going to be a bit higher than nearby alternatives, though nothing unexpected. And lastly, the service was...alright. There was a middle-aged gentleman who may have been the owner who walked around and was quite kind to everyone dining. However, there were a few staff when checking-in who kept giving us a bit of a cold-shoulder and standoffish at first. Now granted, we had a special request of dining on the patio with our dog present, but the request seemed to be a disproportionate annoyance. Food: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: 3.75

Yelp
Lots of outdoor seating All vegan friendly menu (I think--double check) Located in a cool spot called The Lab near a brewery, cafe, bar, and a cool lil covered, outdoor hangout area. Definitely check it out.

Yelp
Had an amazing time here! I came on a Sunday night when it wasn't busy at all and there was ample parking in their lot. Since it was cold, I opted to sit inside but the patio looked really cute and had a great vibe to it! I wasn't super hungry at the time so I opted for the fried avocado and jackfruit tacos. Both were so delicious and well seasoned. I particularly loved the fried avocados and the contrast of the crispy outside and soft creamy inside. The service was friendly and prompt. I will definitely be back to try more menu items!

Yelp
Having always intrigued me every time I passed by, I FINALLY decided to drop in for a quick lunch! Seabirds Kitchen is known for whipping up some killer vegan eats! While I'm not vegan myself, I absolutely love my veggies and enjoy plant-based meals on the regular. Feeling a bit extra, I tag teamed an appetizer and a large plate. The Burnt Brussel Sprouts were to die for! Seasoned with fried garlic, cayenne, lime, and dijon mustard, I could not stop munching on these. The entree was a little less stellar in my book. I went with the Butternut Enchiladas and something about the sauce just didn't sit right with me. It was wayyy too sweet. Just not for me. Would LOVE to come back and give their other items a try though!

Yelp
I love the atmosphere at The Lab and am always happy to go to (always vegan) Seabirds! We started off with the Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup. The pesto on the grilled cheese was a great addition & the soup was spot-on. The chickpea masala soup was surprisingly oily. It t was good, but I couldn't figure out why there was so much oil in it. I will def get the grilled cheese tomato soup combo again, but not the chickpea masala. I didn't try the other dishes (see pics), but the beet burger is also on the repeat list. We sat outside. Loved getting to see the beautiful sunset throughout our meal. Service was great. The host, waiter, and server were all friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

Yelp
TLDR; I'm a fan, I'd recommend it if you're in the area Food: Context - I've done both dine in & take out. I prefer dine in because it's fresh Food I'd order again - Purple taquitos Beer battered avocado taco Skip - Cauliflower Ceviche (for reference: I like very limey, salty, with a good bite & a big fan of using a chickpea substitution. If you're the same this might be a miss for you as well) Ambiance & Staff - The patio is nice if weather is perfect, it's a very cutesy outdoor situation. Wait Time - 5-15 minutes, it's very easy to add yourself to the reservation or waiting system

Yelp
Okkkkk! Might be my new fave vegan spot! We went for brunch on a Saturday and ordered several things because everything sounded so good and I couldn't decide! We got the breakfast biscuit - so so so good! It was an explosion of flavors. The Brussels were out of this world- def a new favorite. The purple potato taquitos were really good and definitely had a kick to them. The grilled cheese and tomato soup were so so so good!!! The best comfort food! I also had the peach mojito and it was very tasty. Sage was our server and she was AWESOME! She answered allllll of our questions with a smile and was very helpful and sweet. The restaurant is so cute and has ample outdoor seating too!

Yelp
We went on a Sunday and they had brunch 'til 3pm. On our way, I added us to the wait list and it worked out great! It gets pretty busy, so I highly recommend getting on the wait list. We waited about 5 minutes to get seated after we arrived. Our waiter took a while to get our order because it was crazy busy, but the food was worth the wait. We ordered the Beets Burger with fries and the Brunch Tacos. Blueberry-mint Lemonade and the Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte to drink. The food took over 30 minutes to come out but we were patient. Everything was delicious! I've been here before but it was my boyfriend's first time. We'll definitely be coming back. It's a really cute restaurant, fast paced, and hip.
google avatar

Natasha Y.

Yelp
Pretty expensive place so I took away a star but loved the bean n cheese burrito, the grilled cheese and sauce with the fries. I wasn't a fan of the fries itself and I didn't like the avocado taco. It was hard to find this place and there was no parking on a Sunday, there's a lot of little shops surrounding the parking lot which was cute.

Yelp
Seabirds is always a nice time. I don't know how i haven't wrote a review but i love the ambience, very peaceful. The food is sooo good and the price is very generous for the portions and flavor. I suggest sitting outside, trying something you never have and enjoy the tranquility! I got the bowl which was hearty and delicious!

Yelp
Went to sea birds, two days ago. As usual another great experience. Boyfriend ordered a cider, taquitos, macaroni and cheese. I ordered Bibibop and a taco salad to go. I also had the blueberry lemonade and a cookie. Everything was wonderful as usual. The service was attentive. It's a nice ambience to sit outside. It feels like you're sitting in the garden. Now I know they have a rewards program. I've been here at this location two other times in the Long Beach location two times as well. It's a vegan restaurant and everything is tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
I've only ordered Togo through Uber Eats, but I've tried it many times. My favorites are the beer-battered avocado tacos, adobo tacos, and grilled mushroom tacos. Even as a non-vegetarian--they're all delicious! The service is quick, and I can't wait to enjoy the food in person one day. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Seabirds is a vegan dining gem that never disappoints. Their purple taquitos and brunch tacos are standout dishes--full of vibrant flavors and textures that make each bite a delight. Pair it with their Birdie Mary, a creative twist on the classic Bloody Mary featuring fried pickles, for a drink that's both refreshing and savory. The warm cauliflower salad is another favorite of mine, especially if you ask to omit the chilis for a milder taste. Their homemade Seabirds sauce is a must-try, adding a unique touch to their dishes. For dessert, the churro waffle is nothing short of spectacular--rich, sweet, and absolutely indulgent. The ambiance at Seabirds is perfect for both a casual family dinner and special occasions. If you find the wait for a table to be longer than expected, take advantage of their convenient takeout option and enjoy your meal in the nearby cute, outdoor public area, which is well-equipped with ample seating. With delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, Seabirds is a top choice for anyone looking to enjoy outstanding vegan cuisine.

Yelp
Upon arriving my friend and I were seated quickly. The food was really fresh and delicious, I had ordered the grilled cheese with tomatoe soap! The style of the restaurant was very homey yet hipster and there's plenty of seating outside as there is inside.
google avatar

Tinea M.

Yelp
This was my first time at a vegan brunch restaurant. I ordered the biscuit bomb which seems to be a popular menu item. The first thing that surprised me was the rosemary biscuit. It was very light and fluffy and had good flavor. There was also a sauce on the biscuit that had a great balance of sweetness and savoryness. The textures of the tempeh and tofu were not my favorite but I think that's a personal issue. Everything was well cooked and well seasoned. I would like to go back and try another menu item in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
The food and service was beyond our expectations. I had the wet breakfast burrito with green sauce and was delicious. Ate outside which was great for the weather. Some of our family members are plant based and yet enjoyed the purple taquitos and burger with fries. Definitely going back to try the jackfruit nachos. Also the Jasmine/passion fruit tea was great. Five stars all around. Continue the great work at Seabirds Kitchen

Yelp
New year, new diet! My boyfriend's trying to transition into being vegan and so of course I got excited and started searching for the best vegan restaurants in OC... Seabirds popped up as the first result on Yelp and I can confirm it makes sense. We couldn't believe everything on the menu is vegan! I love seeing more nuts used as dairy substitutes such as cashews and walnuts. We ordered the Mac & cheese, all three tacos: Battered avocado/ Al pastor jackfruit/ Grilled mushrooms, and stuffed shells that came with kale Caesar salad. Everything was so good like you wouldn't think it was vegan definitely a 10/10! The Mac and cheese was so creamy. While the avo taco tasted just like a fish taco and the seasoning for the mushroom and jackfruit were so spot on! The stuffed shells definitely stuffed me up - it was such a warm and hearty meal. I also enjoyed the kale salad it came with as it was so crunchy and full of texture. Unfortunately, we were too full to try their desserts but we could see from the other tables that they looked really good. The ambiance was very cute and casual with the dimmed lighting. Our servers were very helpful in answering our questions. My bf said this will definitely be his new go to spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome Experience! First time visit to Seabirds Kitchen, for a birthday dinner. The Butternut Squash enchiladas, the Purple Potato taquitos, and the Beet Burger were all delicious. (Sorry I didn't take pictures) We ended our dinner with this decadent Chaffle dessert.

Yelp
The Lab's anti-mall offers so much to see & eat. To add to all that in the far corner, 100% plant based restaurant; Seabirds! A variety of cuisines to select. Perplexed, I listened to my server's recommendations and got the popular Stuffed Shells and to start Purple Taquitos. Stuffed shells are a 5/5 unique, delicious, flavors were all represented. Side kale salad was a bonus gem. Small feedback, larger shells or add another stuffed shell. Purple Taquitos a unique take on taquitos that worked perfectly! Nothing else was needed. My partner got the famous burger which I sampled. It is indeed delicious however, I think the patty needs to be thicker to compensate for the brioche bun thickness. Service was very friendly & helpful. Inside & outdoor sitting with small heaters. Love it all & would love to come back!

Yelp
Wow I am no where near a vegan but I scarfed down my meal here in about 5 minutes it was so good. Everything is plant based and vegan so key that in mind when planning to come here. The wait can be very long on the weekend for brunch, my wait on an early Sunday afternoon was about an hour for a table for 2. They have nice indoor seating plus an outdoor patio area with seating when the weather is gorgeous (it usually is). Great place to bring dogs and sit outdoors. Our server was so nice he brought water bowls for our dogs too. We ordered the purple taquitos, jackfruit nachos, and beets me burger. All were honestly delicious! The taquitos were packed with flavor and had a sauce on them that were just perfect. The nachos included a lot of healthy ingredients such as onion, peppers, black beans, guacamole, and cilantro. The beets burger was sooo impressive and definitely better than any impossible burger I've had elsewhere. As a meat lover, I honestly forgot I was eating a beets burger! I would be remiss to mention that the parking here sucks when it's busy and that's every weekend it seems like. Be prepared to circle for a bit and have to follow people leaving to their cars in order to find parking. The Camp across the street had the same kind of problem.
google avatar

Anh D.

Yelp
If you're a person that is vegetarian/vegan, you'd probably like this place a lot and that's why I gave it 5 stars (great service and food was good). However, it's really pricey so personally, because I don't have any dietary restrictions, I won't be returning. FYI: only 1 restroom; parking can be limited (even if you park on The Lab side and walk over)

Yelp
Listen, Seabirds is ALWAYS a good choice! Was recently in the area and was asked by a couple of friends if I knew a good vegan restaurant. It had actually been a few years since I had been to Seabirds and w all the recent closures of vegan restaurants in SoCal I wasn't sure if they were still open so I was super excited to see that they are still out here kicking out the great vegan eats! I used to get their vegan Mac and cheese and was a little bummed it wasn't on the menu at the time I was there, but I also love that they switch things up w something equally delicious! I chose the rigatoni pasta dish and it was seriously so good I was like Mac & cheese who?! Most of our table had their beautiful blueberry mint lemonade which you get refills on too! Seriously so refreshing. Now, in my opinion, the main reason that makes Seabirds such a good choice (besides their epic entrees, cool staff and refreshing drinks) is their epic dessert...The Chaffle! Like you cannot sleep on this, like if you can only choose one thing on their menu make it be this delectable treat...like you definitely need to experience this dessert! TLDR: Seabirds is a rad vegan restaurant in a super cool Anti-Mall; staff is attentive; parking is tricky; order the Chaffle!!

Yelp
Amazing food! Great vibe and decor. Timothy was a great host. He was so kind and patient with our questions and gave us such great service. Would definitely go here again! The food was so good and all of it tasted amazing. 10/10

Yelp
Came to try some vegan food and it was so delicious & filling. Highly recommend the Zippy fries-- we also asked for extra Seabirds sauce on the side and it went well with the Brussels sprouts too! The outdoor seating was so cute, and service was great.
google avatar

Tara O.

Yelp
I truly do not have one negative thing to say about Seabirds Kitchen. This restaurant is absolutely delicious. My husband and I came in for an early dinner, so it was not busy yet at all. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting and there's lot of beautiful outdoor seating as well. Everyone who was working was friendly and helpful. We ordered the purple taquitos, the butternut squash enchiladas, and the jackfruit nachos paired with two pear mocktails. The food was so incredibly fresh and truly tasted like it was made with intentionality similar to eating a really good home-cooked meal. This was one of the best vegan restaurants we've ever been to, and we cannot wait to come back!
google avatar

Amanda Y.

Yelp
Seabirds Kitchen serves delicious vegan food in a cool, casual space. I've visited the original location in Long Beach, and when I saw that they had one in OC, I was excited to visit! This one, located in The LAB anti-mall, fits right in with the eco-friendly and hipster vibe of the plaza. We ordered burnt brussel sprouts, the beets me burger and side salad, fried avocado taco, and the mushroom taco. All of the food was soo good! They were all full of great flavors and textures. Service was friendly, and I liked the putdoor seating that is available in The LAB location. I would definitely return!

Yelp
Had to go back for taco Tuesday! We not only enjoyed tacos but other great dishes as well. Here's a breakdown: Al Pastor taco made with jack fruit and beer battered avocado taco, both delicious and on point. Purple potato taquitos absolutely a must try creation. Nachos also made with beans and Jackfruit. Free chips and salsa with your taco order and may I say the salsa is some of the best ever!!!
google avatar

Maritza S.

Yelp
I am not vegetarian and I love this place. The food is flavorful and amazing. I don't enjoy when vegan places that try to make their food look like meat. This restaurant does not do that at all. The ingredients are super fresh and simple. I love sitting in their beautiful patio especially when it's sunny . The low point is probably the service because they seem to be understaffed. I mostly feel bad when I see one person running around trying to take care of everyone by themselves. Obviously, this does not deter me from going back but you have to allow extra time to enjoy your meal. Must try the Purple Taquitos. Be careful, they are super hot!
google avatar

Yelp
I love Seabirds! The food is very creative and nourishing. It's not just fake meats and cheeses-- it's actual whole plant foods turned into delicious and hearty meals. Anyone can enjoy this place, vegan or not! It's located in an adorable "anti-mall" with plenty to walk around and look at. Service has always been friendly. Great place to take guests or enjoy a light but filling meal. Especially LOVE their weekend brunch menu.

K R.

Yelp
Highly recommend! This was my second time going in less than one week, it is that good! The enchiladas are so delicious and filling. I love that they aren't too spicy. The blueberry lemonade was also delicious as well! The service was great and staff were very nice. This is located in an adorable plaza and would make a fun outing.

Yelp
Updating review based on a recent visit. Tomato soup was so so, pretty much tastes like a thick bowl of pasta sauce. Not really reminiscent of a tomato soup. Brussels sprouts were sopping in oil. Took one bite and was disgusted. Server neither offered to swap them for something else nor comp/discount. Paid full price for yuck , what a waste of time and $ today.
google avatar

Rachel I.

Yelp
Not my first time at seabirds, nor my first time at this location. I'm a huge fan!! Wish there were more locations. No matter what you get on the menu, you won't be disappointed! Food is always fresh and flavorful. Quality ingredients! I just tried their daily special which was the Cali Sally Burrito and it was exactly what I needed. Fried tofu, loaded with veggies, fries, and an amazing chipotle sauce. It was delicious. My all time fav dish is their purple potatoes taquitos! And you must try their poptarts, especially the Ube one is my fav!! Service is always great Prices are reasonable Cute little restaurant Indoor and outdoor seating available
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
I love this place: it's always relaxing to be at and the staff are appropriately attentive indoors. Adobo jackfruit tacos and Grilled cheese are the most satisfying and, surprisingly, similar or better to a non-vegan version. Enjoy and tip well!

Yelp
This place changed my mind about vegan food. Everything was flavorful with friendly service. Will definitely come back again in the future.

Yelp
Eat here. It was busy and had to wait about 20 minutes to sit but they have a great link that shows you where in the queue you are. Started with the Brussels sprouts which were crispy and delicious. The enchiladas were flavorful and filling. I was not disappointed. The locals bowl was a lot more food than I expected and came with a salsa that paired well with the dish. It seemed pretty healthy and it was tasty. We sat inside and it was nice. We have eaten on the patio before and is the preferred eating spot but we went with first available.

Yelp
This is the place to go for an all vegan menu. I'm not vegan, but I have vegan friends and it's hard to find places to go where we both enjoy the food. A typical restaurant will usually have a few awful vegan choices and most vegan places will have the fake meat stuff which isn't good. Seabirds offers good food in general, and it happens to be vegan. My two favorite dishes are the avocado tacos and biscuit sandwich. Full of flavor. Though while it's really good food, this is a not a healthy meal. Things a generally deep fried or filled with high levels of sodium. Parking is terrible.

Yelp
This vegan spot in Costa Mesa has a pretty limited menu, so don't expect a huge variety of options. That said, the food they do offer tastes good--I enjoyed both their pasta and salads. They also serve beer, which is a nice bonus, and it's good! It's definitely on the pricier side, so it's more of an occasional treat rather than a regular go-to for me. Still, I appreciate having places around that cater to vegans, so it's worth checking out if you're in the area and looking for some solid plant-based options.

Yelp
Second time eating here and I came back specifically for the warm grilled cauliflower salad! It is so delicious with a touch of spicy. The nuts are a wonderful touch and add a slight chewy texture. The service was fast and they have a cut outside patio we sat in and enjoyed our food.

Yelp
Service was somewhat slow since they were short staffed but our server was very nice and helpful. I ordered the purple taquito and the avocado & mushroom tacos. It came with chips and salsa. We also ordered the corn chowder. All the food was delicious. Also got the blueberry lemonade which was too sweet for me. And we finished it all. I especially like the avocado tacos and would love to come back again for more and to try other menu items. Place is quaint. Plenty of seating outside and limited inside. It's pretty quiet. Definitely reserve table ahead of time if you're on a limited time schedule.
