Seattle’s Best Restaurants That Are Open Late at Night | Eater Seattle

"This is a takeout window with a couple of tables outside (plus delivery service), so maybe don’t plan a camp-out here if the weather’s ornery. But for those starving after the bars close, Seattle Dumpling House has an array of juicy Taiwanese dumplings, soup noodles, and pork buns to keep the party going. The aromatic vegan curry dumplings with garlic, ginger, cabbage, tofu, sweet corn, and edamame, dotted with chili crunch, are a standout even for meat-eaters. And the gua bao with slow-braised char siu pork, sriracha aioli, and sweet pickled onions is a fun update on the classic. They’re open until 3:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday." - Harry Cheadle

Let me start by saying that it's to-go. I'm a plant based guy, and best vegan dumplings I've tried in the Seattle area. The spiral cut cucumber is tasty too. My friend had the ramen dish and she said that she enjoyed it. I love that it's open late!

Oh my goodness. That was some of the best and most fun late night food I've had. The curry dumpling is the best thing I've had this year. Period. And the atmosphere of walking up to the cart feels like a magical little portal out of this quiet alley.

Google
Unimpressed. Ordered the ramen dumplings online, the AI estimated pickup was 21 minutes. Arrived and was told in person it would take 30 minutes. It ended up taking 40 minutes before the order was ready at 1235am. 25% too expensive, slow service, poor taste, small portions, and disappointing overall quality. Would not return or recommend.

Out of the five vegetarian options on the menu, I tried three: Spiral cucumber, Eden of garden dumplings, and mango sticky rice. The dumplings and mango sticky rice were incredible—some of the best I’ve ever had. The flavors were spot on, no exaggeration! As for the spiral cucumber, it’s a bit of a stretch for a salad, but worth a try if you’re really in the mood for cucumbers. The ambience is super low-key, with outdoor stalls set up where we sat. Service was quick, so no complaints there. Tip: Check in on Yelp to score a free Thai iced tea, and if you spend over $25, you’ll get another one!

Google
Solid takeout spot, but poor value especially given that it's a ghost kitchen. The only dish I'd get again (of the ones I tried) are the yellow curry dumplings. These were phenomenal. Not really spicy, just a small kick - and the sauce is more of a sweet sauce, which compliments it well. So if there's one dish to get from here, get that one. Aside from the yellow curry dumplings, we got the chicken & vegetable dumplings and cucumber spiral salad. Both were good, but nothing so special that I'd pay that much for again. Our order took maybe 15mins to be ready. The portions were fairly small for the cost per dish ($14.50+ for 5 or 6 medium sized dumplings per entree). There's no indoor seating, but there's some uncovered seating outside along the wall. You can go into the adjacent bar to eat though. Overall, I'd come back occasionally for the curry dumplings, but it's too pricey for me to go to regularly.

I'm excited to try Seattle Dumpling House! Although I haven't tasted their dishes yet, I received a warm welcome from the owner-chef when asking about their new location and vegan options without mushrooms. The cozy setup, tucked behind Sea Monster bar, boasts a charming ambiance with soft lanterns and string lights, perfect for pickup and go (open till 3:30 am!). I'll definitely update my review once I've savored their lovingly crafted food!

Google
So so so good, theres so few late night Seattle restaurants since covid and the ones that are open are very 50/50 in my experience. This is not one of those places i had a couple different menu items between me and my boyfriend and they were all delicious and good sized portions/ prices. So glad to have found this place and ill definitely be coming here after my night shifts when everything else is closed. Not to mention the guy working was so friendly and gave great service to me and the other customers

Jorge

Google
The dumplings are amazing! You cannot go wrong here! Little hole in the wall with a BIG flavor! You can order and eat next door at the Sea Monster. The best dishes are the Garden of Eden and the Golden Sunrise Shao Mai.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERVICE AND FOOD!!! My friends and I came here and the service was quick and we ordered a pretty big order (more than 10 items). It was pretty fast and they topped of our Thai teas as consolation for not having sticky rice but still gave us white rice as well. The owners are so friendly and nice and awesome and if you're in the area- you definitely should support this small business. It's in a nice location where there are bars nearby so if you're looking for food to sober up to- def check this place out. I literally will be recommending this place to anyone who will listen. The food was hot and delicious; the Thai tea was super sweet and delicious, the wontons were scrumptious and filling, crab Rangoon has so much filling, and lastly oh my god the desert mango sticky rice with coconut was to die for. The packaging is very solid- so there's no worry if anything will spill. I hope this place stays open forever and if I lived in Seattle I would be here everyday.

Hope H.

Yelp
We stopped by this cute little spot a way to a friends from Portland to Seattle and everything was SO GOOD. The curry wontons were so flavorful and the bok choy was perfectly cooked and garlicky! Will definitely back next time we're in Seattle

Yelp
The good: the service and the people running it. Great guys and you can tell they love running this place and appreciate the customers. The not-so-good: The broth for pho is pretty good they just don't give you enough. Small portions for a way jacked up prices(their pho and ramen bowl is slightly smaller than a small pho bowl in pho places. And it's 20 bucks for a smaller than average pho with 3-4 meatballs when I can get a small bowl of pho for 12-13 bucks in Vietnamese restaurants). The 2 steam buns is nearly 20 bucks and small pieces of shumai is around the price range too. The neutral: It's takeout only place, there's no place to wait that's covered. They take time to prepare food but that's expected since the food is fresh. Would I go back? Maybe? I don't know tbh maybe just to order a side broth though I wonder what their wontons and dumplings taste like Tldr: Ordering in advance cuts down the wait times. The portions are too small, the price is the same as a semi-fancy asian sit down restaurant but the food is fresh.

Yelp
Got to try out this new pop-up during its first week of opening. A little difficult to find, especially late at night since the lighting isn't all that great. But when I did, it felt like a juicy hidden secret. Service was prompt & friendly. Free Thai tea too, mmm. The shao mai & chili wontons were yummy. Cucumber salad could've spent some more time marinating for more flavor. Wasn't sure if it was the lighting but felt that all the dishes were one note in color. But it hit the spot for late night cravings when you don't want junky fast food.

Yelp
I like how the opens late, however I think $14 for 5 shu mai was a lot.... , and I thought it tasted alright too compared to other dim sum spots. There wasnt much to say about the service and ambience since its order online for pick up to go. Looking at other reviews, I'm willing to come back to try the wontons and cucumber.
google avatar

Laura E.

Yelp
I placed an order online for pick up and the estimated order time was incorrect. The cucumber was not sliced as thin as I expected (was more than half an inch thick) and did not have a bunch of flavor sticking to the cucumbers. The dumplings were very good though! I would try the spiral cucumbers next.

Marty N.

Yelp
Just went back and they have many new dumplings. The vegan curry dumplings are amazing addition to such a tasty menu. They are affordable given the size of each dumpling. They are fresh, delish, made to order, and open until 3:30am. What more can ya want? ;)
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Food - 4 Service - 5 Value - 3 Most of their menu items aren't what I would consider "dumplings" but the food was good nonetheless. We ordered the Siu Mai, Cucumber Spiral Salad and Pork and Chili Wontons. The location was a bit odd to find as Google Maps directs you to the doordash pickup location which is on the other side of the building (maybe Google maps has been updated since we went though).

Yelp
Came here late night after a long shift. Seattle lacks in good late night local food, not anymore... Open from 7pm - 3:30am this late night dumpling spot is just what we need. Food was delicious, fair prices and friendly service. Order at the window with seating outside if you want to eat immediately. Cool spot will be back.

Yelp
The Mango Sticky rice with Pandan & Ube Is hella bomb. I loved the Ramen with Wontons. Can't wait to try the Pho with meatballs dish next time!
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambiance for date night and the novelty of a cocktails+dumplings experience. The food is very overpriced for what you get however. Drinks are ok, stay away from their sweet options as they are very syrupy

Yelp
I am so glad I got to try Seattle Dumpling House before even stepping onto Yelp! I heard good things from a friend for late night dumplings and I knew I had to try it out myself! I was in the area with another friend and we decided to give them a call first and see if it was okay to stop by in person (they do not have a dine-in area, mostly ordered through third party delivery apps. They said we could swing by, so with a hungry appetite at 1AM after drinking at the bars, we decided get our grub on. Driving to the location can be a little difficult in the dark, so be sure to give them a call if you need help getting to the pick up destination, it's in a quiet little neighborhood area. Look for the patio area (closed for a different restaurant) and you'll see a door. We weren't sure what to get so we tried to order a little bit of everything. Starting off with the Savory Jade Wontons (now listen here, I'm not supposed to be eating meat right now due to health reasons but I couldn't help but order a second one!!) yes, it's that good! Next up, because I said above I shouldn't be eating meat, I ordered the Garden of Eden dumplings and now THOSE were frikken delicious and nothing like I've had before! I've been to the mainstream hype dumpling restaurants in Seattle and Bellevue but these were quite unique! If you like curry flavors, you'll love this one! The dumpling skins are just so soft, melts in your mouth, the meat/filling is the perfect portion, and the sauces are just *chef's kiss* We really wanted to try the Pho but they were sold out for the night, but we did get to try the Gua Bao and that was FULL of pork, the buns were so fluffy, I almost cancelled my vegan detox LOL! Shame on me I know. Currently they are giving out tiny samples of their Mango Sticky Rice and I am madly obsessed with Mango Sticky Rice and I just love how they have different flavors they are currently testing out! You can't miss out on this dessert. Now for the two of us, we didn't have a big enough belly to order everything but we were told the Jade Wonton Ramen Bowl is the best seller, so I will definitely be trying that out next time but the fact that they are open till 3AM? That's wild! Until next time!

Jon L.

Yelp
Disappointing and overpriced small portions. Food itself was fine, but not at all special enough to justify such a high price, especially for a restaurant with no sit down service. You'll get 2-3x the food at a sit down dimsum with service. Feels like there's been a paid social media campaign and questionable highly positive reviews that my experience doesn't come close to resonating with.

Kristin M.

Yelp
I haven't even left the street outside of Seattle Dumpling House yet where I'm eating my order and knew I had to immediately write a review. Wow! This place is delicious! Like everyone else, I was looking for a late dinner and dreading the low quality options typically available when I saw this pop up. Everything sounded so good I ended up ordering an assortment. The braised pork?! Phenomenal. Pork wontons, cucumbers, and mango sticky rice - also incredible. As if the spread wasn't good enough, one of the two owners that brought out my order was super lovely and proudly shared the story of their journey to get Seattle Dumpling House going. Run to support this small business!!

Yelp
Top notch vegan dumplings. Looks like a great new option for grab and go on 45th in Wallingford (attached to the Sea Monster). Will definitely return.

Dolores S.

Yelp
Amazing!!!! My friends and I randomly discovered this place. We were surprised at how tasty these dumplings were. Will most definitely be back!

Kat S.

Yelp
This is not an eat-in restaurant. They offer take out only. My husband had to wait outside in rain for more than half hour to take out It was OK taste.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood and stumbled upon this spot tonight. It's right next to another dumpling spot so we were curious how it would be. We were blown away it was so good!! I'm trying to not eat much meat and loved the veggie dumplings. I tried the jade pork ones and they were also wonderful. They just opened recently but would love to see a few more options...more fish or veggie dumplings please??? Can't wait to go back. Excited to have this in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Yessss this is what Seattle has been needing! More late night options (we have so few for a city of this size)! And a really tasty one at that! I got the Garden of Eden dumplings, the spiral cucumber and me and my partner split the friend wonton crackers in the car on the way home because we were starving. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! I also felt like the pick up process was fun--kind of like going to a dumpling speakeasy (there are well lit signs marking the pick up location and you just wait outside). I think it was the owner who came out to give us our food (we should have asked more questions, but we were so hungry) and he was so kind and personable. Literally my only suggestion would be to please mark the vegetarian orders with a V or something on the container to make it easier to not mix up (my partner had pork wontons so we had to take a second to make sure the right person had the right order--not a big deal at all). I am definitely going to be eating here again (and again and again) and highly suggest you check them out too! I am so grateful this place exists--it's practically a community service!

Yelp
Very good food open late in Wallingford Was so hungry after a long day at work and craving for some good quality food in the neighborhood and this place was open late night. I'm not usually willing to try newly opened business but I gave it a shot and my oh my it was good. I ordered the Gua baos, jade wonton and shuimai. the jade Savory Jade Wontons was definitely a stand out dish for me. Will coming back for another items that they have on the menu

Evan W.

Yelp
Super cute small new restaurant, the food was really good and the portions were sized nicely. The lovely couple that own the restaurant were great, they walked us through the menu cause it was our first time. Great spot that's open late highly recommended after a night out. The jade pork and chili wontons are a must!

Roni H.

Yelp
Delicious food, lots of choices. Very busy but quick friendly service. Drove back to Oregon and munched on dumplings in the car. Yummy!

Yelp
About a month or so ago, I saw an ad for this spot while scrolling through Instagram lateish on a Saturday night and was shocked at the late hours so upon telling my boyfriend we excitedly checked out the menu. We understand being a new business run by a couple why the menu was limited and a tad bit expensive but we knew within time and reputation they may be able to add more (I checked while writing this and see they added quite a bit since!). I will say we only ordered one item each due to the price but it was well worth the adventure since they were packed full of flavour and you could tell it was cooked fresh upon order. I tried the Garden of Eden Curry Dumplings (veggie) and my bf tried the Savory Jade & Chili Pork Wontons. Since we were in the car in the dark we mixed up our bowls and he had gotten through one and a half before we noticed because the Veggie ones were that good which doesn't happen often! I believe it may have been David, the business owner notice us looking a bit lost trying to find the place since it's tucked round the corner off the main drag (the entrance is by the covered ramp down the street on 44th) so he called my name and ran back in to grab our order, we were very impressed since most people would have you figure it out by yourself or get impatient. Okay I could go on but I will finish by saying the icing on the cake or should I say mango on the sticky rice, is when we ordered they were giving small samples of the mango sticky rice so when I found a small cup in our bag I was very excited since I was debating on getting a portion but with the price and only me eating it I passed (this time...) next time we will definitely be ordering more and a full order of the sweet, warm and delicious sticky rice! So whether you're hunting for a late night snack after the bars or a cheeky midnight snack run in pj's this is the spot to try!

Aaron W.

Yelp
Dumplings were delicious and definitely hit the spot for the late night cravings. Service was great, constantly checking frequently for customers and making sure we were helped

Ulises H.

Yelp
I was reluctant to give these late nite eats a try given their cartoony menu pics, but I'm so glad I did. I've had the: pulled pork baos - juicy and tender with a perfect balance of savory, sweet, and acidity. Do wish they were spicy Mango sticky rice - i am almost certain they peel the mango as it's ordered! Or at least they spray the containers with mango oil. I'm a fat kid tho, I would love it if they added a little more of the coconut cream. Thai iced tea - better than the teas I had in Thailand a few months ago! Coconut water - it's served with plenty of coconut meat. For sure order twice the servings you think you'll need. With their bogo lasting all the month of may; my summer bod goals will def be at risk. I'm just so glad this is the first time I've been reversed cat fished by an online menu. Im looking forward to new menu items

Kathryn K.

Yelp
Woah I wished I tried this place sooner! Love having a late night option in Seattle that isn't fast food. Everything I had was so so good and reasonably priced too! Not to mention the owners are so sweet. Ignore the 4 dollar signs, that's not an accurate representation of the pricing!!

Sarah L.

Yelp
Really great food although a bit expensive (not news for those who enjoy Dim Sum). Menu was easy to navigate with quick service and order to food on the table turnaround.

Jahna H.

Yelp
It was so good! I'd given up on Crab Rangoon's but they were delicious! Loved the dumplings, the sandwiches weren't my favorite, but they would be perfect after a couple of beers ;) I'm thrilled to have a quality late-night option for those nights I have to work late. Note that the portions aren't generous, so order more than you think you'll need. The pick up window is on Wallingford Ave. past Julia's.

Alan N.

Yelp
The vegan dumplings were very tasty. I loved the braised pork baos were amazing too. Location is a bit hard to find. Nikki was very kind and I didn't have to wait long for my food.

Heather C.

Yelp
I would share a picture of these delicious dumplings, and the ridiculously good Bao steamed buns, BUT we eat our food so fast no time for a picture. Here's the deal...it's a little tricky to find and understand how to get your order, but just place your order online and then drive to the location just past Julia's and call them to tell them your outside ready to pick up. The guy will bring out your food. The restaurant is a not visible from the street - but don't be afraid - just do it. At 12AM, so so worth it.

Gee E.

Yelp
this place was so awesome after pool table hopping and the owner was so kind-- had some of the most gorgeous mango I've ever had in the mango coconut sticky rice but everything (pork and prawn shumai and some other dumpling) was a banger
