Second Servings of Houston

When you volunteer at Second Servings of Houston, you get to work with other folks who are great at sharing with their time to help our neighbors who face food insecurity. The double benefit is that Second Servings of Houston rescues food that would otherwise go to the landfill. It is a real pleasure to be a part of a big-hearted group of individuals who care.

What an honor it was volunteering with Second Servings as second seat today. We rescued almost 3,000 lbs. of food that would have otherwise been thrown in the garbage. Thank you Andi & John at Second Servings for making us feel so welcomed & needed!

It is always a pleasure volunteering with Second Servings. The entire staff is inviting and truly fighting for the cause of eliminating food waste. Volunteering has allowed me to see all areas in Houston as well as knowing where food donations are being served. I highly recommend coming to volunteer to see for yourself!

My experience was big what a clean neat environment, the program has a focus on creating healthy nurturing efforts, their stride places meaningful helpers right in the source “community”. This platform has an impeccable office top grade all along sharp staff that greets you with high energy everyone there has a huge welcome and gratitude with volunteers this includes the partners associated with the company they’re eager and have a great resource which keeps us organized and ready to pick up smoothly. Part of what we do centers each one of our lives, humbly an amazing program this isn’t just thriving your putting back into communities with progress making huge differences.

It's truly inspiring to encounter individuals who prioritize making a positive impact. Their dedication to assisting others and contributing to a better society is commendable. This passion often stems from a deep sense of empathy and a genuine desire to create meaningful change. Such individuals serve as role models, reminding us of the power of compassion and collective effort. Their contributions, big or small, pave the way for a brighter future.

I volunteered for Second Servings last week. Every aspect of the scheduling and preparation was very organized. The Organization is transferring unused food to charities that feed the underprivileged. After Hurricane Harvey, this need is even greater. An outstanding leadership team.

It’s a great organization that saved food that would end up in the dumpster if not for Second Servings. We pick it up and deliver to neighborhood community centers where “pop up” grocery stores distribute it for free to people in need. The food is also distributed to nonprofits in need to feed residents. I’m proud to volunteer with Second Serving!
