The 38 Best Restaurants in Mumbai, India | Eater

"For any Thai cravings in Mumbai, look to chef Seefah Ketchaiyo, whose namesake restaurant (a joint venture with her husband, chef Karan Bane) is influenced by her stints cooking in both Thailand and China. Order the papaya salad, duck rice, Isan grilled pork, and Thai curry with crispy roti. The restaurant also does an array of Japanese food, in case you need some udon or sashimi. If chef Ketchaiyo’s in the kitchen, ask if she’s feeling nice enough to make your table a Thai omelette stuffed with chicken or pork, an off-menu speciality." - Sumedh Natu

Finally got around to visiting this place after seeing so many recommendations — I had to check if it lives up to the hype. And I’d say it mostly does. The ambience was nice, and the staff were really courteous. Even though we couldn’t get a reservation on a Tuesday night, we managed to walk in and got a table around 9:00–9:30 PM for dinner. We ordered the Crabstick Sushi, Chicken Gyoza, Chicken Tom Kha, Chicken Katsu Curry, and Thai Burnt Toast. All the dishes were really good, but special mention goes to the Gyoza and the Thai Burnt Toast, which came with ginger and black sesame ice cream scoops — a unique combo indeed Would definitely like to go back and try more from the menu. It’s slightly on the pricier side, but worth trying at least once for the authentic experience.

Only 1 concern - have to plan to visit next time with more people to do justice to the menu. Had Gyoza and Ramen and both were top notch delish. The portion sizes were good. Flavour packed and very authentic. Sneakily saw the burger at the adjacent table which is next on my list.

Overall rating - 2.75 Seefah, ranked among India’s top 100 restaurants, had been on my must-visit list. While the ambience was pleasant and the service commendable, the food didn’t quite meet expectations. As a vegetarian (no mushrooms), I ordered the Assorted Veg Chendgu Style, Pad Thai, and received a complimentary Green Curry. Veg options were plenty - a huge plus. The appetiser portion was generous and served with tasty sauces, but the dish itself was average. The Pad Thai lacked flavour and was quite disappointing. Surprisingly, the Green Curry turned out to be the star – rich, aromatic, and well-executed. Overall, despite some positives, I’ve had better meals elsewhere and may not return.

Fantastic place, fantastic food! I had the silken tofu carpaccio. Brilliant tofu, absolutely melt in your mouth. What made the dish even better is the chili oil and the broth that came with it. And some crispy elements for textural contrast. Fresh microgreens for some zing. The service is truly amazing. I told the manager that I wanted to try their honey toast with black sesame ice cream, but was feeling full. Even before I could make the request, he offered half portion, which is exactly what I wanted. The desert was absolutely outstanding, if course. Excellent experience, overall. I really hope to try their mains and starters some day.

I love Seefah! If you love authentic sushi, then this is the place. Their sushi sashimi platter, salmon caparcio are our go-to. We tried their Kaiseden Salad and it was such a beautiful surprise; easily a new favorite. The mango sticky rice is seasonal speciality but not a fan.

You might get lost on your first visit, but the restaurant is located on the second floor of the building. The food is fantastic—I finished everything because it's definitely worth a return visit. If you're in Mumbai highly recommend checking it out!

Seefah – A Hidden Gem Serving Thai & Japanese Perfection Ranked #21 on Conde Nast Traveller’s Top 50 Restaurants in India list, Seefah is one of Mumbai’s best-kept secrets, quietly tucked away on the 2nd floor of a building on Hill Road, Bandra West. But make no mistake—this place is a powerhouse when it comes to bold, unforgettable flavors. A seamless blend of Thai and Japanese cuisine, Seefah delivers an experience that lingers long after the last bite. I started with the Off Season cocktail, a recommendation from the bartender—and what a brilliant suggestion it was. Made with Hapusa Gin, Bird Eye Chilli Tincture, X-Rated, and Mango Fig Botanical Water, it was refreshingly bright with a subtle fiery kick, balanced beautifully over highball ice. The spice crept in gently, teasing the palate but never overwhelming—a true masterclass in balance. For appetizers, I went with their famous Silken Tofu Carpaccio, and let me tell you—if every tofu dish tasted this good, I’d probably never crave anything else. The silken tofu literally melted in my mouth, while the coconut gomadare, chili oil, and crispy garlic worked in perfect harmony to elevate its delicate texture. Every bite was a combination of creaminess, heat, and crunch—so simple, yet so profoundly flavorful. And considering it was my first time trying tofu, this dish set the bar ridiculously high. And then came the grand finale—the legendary Honey Toast. Describing this dish in words almost feels criminally inadequate because no sentence can do justice to the magic that unfolded on my plate. A golden, crispy-edged, buttery block of toast, caramelized to perfection, served with one scoop each of coconut and sesame ice cream. The contrast of warm, crunchy toast against the smooth, cool, nutty ice creams was simply divine. Each spoonful was sweet, toasty, creamy, and deeply satisfying—like a comforting hug in dessert form. If Seefah isn’t already on your must-visit list, do yourself a favor and fix that immediately. This is easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Mumbai, and I cannot wait to go back for more.

Went yesterday to this much hyped place for dinner. Ordered 5 dishes which turned out to be dry, bland, salty and below average. With an empty stomach and dissatisfied experience our bill came to 6k for 3. The local bars would have served me better food. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
