"Select serves light Mediterranean seafood, creative cocktails, wine and craft beer. The service is very casual and the staff is fun and friendly. We've had everything on the menu and it's all delicious - especially the ribeye. Be prepared for the 20% Pre-Tax Gratuity on all checks, but trust us, it's well worth it." - Amalgam
"For an upscale midday meal, this swanky Back Bay seafood spot serves zesty crudo, crispy octopus, and of course, oysters by the dozen. The menu is the same for both lunch and dinner, so if you’re looking to try out chef Michael Serpa’s lauded food without the bustling dinner crowds, going for lunch is a great move." - Erika Adams
"One of the Back Bay seafood spots associated with chef Michael Serpa, whose work has earned him a semifinalist nod for Best Chef: Northeast in 2025." - Erika Adams
"Select is a New England oyster bar that doesn’t serve clam chowder. We love clam chowder, but we also respect some good iconoclasm every now and then. Besides, the rest of the menu is strong enough on its own. The daily ceviche is a great way to start any meal, and the cauliflower with hazelnut aioli is a fantastic option if you’re looking for something that didn’t come from the sea. It’s a funky place with weird art on the wall, a good sized bar, and a back patio, so come here the next time you want a drink and some oysters." - joel ang, dan secatore
"If you’re in the mood for seafood but don’t have quite enough time for Saltie Girl, Select Oyster Bar is your spot. The menu isn’t quite as exciting as at Saltie Girl’s, but just about everything is really good and the crowds are significantly lighter. It’ll even work for any seafood-phobic coworkers, as the romanesco cauliflower salad with hazelnut aioli is actually one of our favorite things they make." - dan secatore
