"Sensato is a good choice for an Omakase dining experience while seated at a traditional Japanese counter. This small, minimalist restaurant, located in an elevated section of Barcelona, is run by a pair of chefs who combine local ingredients with Japanese-style techniques and preparation which they demonstrate in front of just six guests, in so doing showcasing their mastery with the knife. It was one of the BEST omakase sushi experiences in my life! I felt like I was back in Japan. I literally have not one bad thing to say about this place! I wish I could give them 6 stars… The chef is very talented and agreable. They open the doors minutes before to the reservation so don’t be surprised if you come 10 minutes earlier and cannot get in, just wait outside the doors, they’ll let you in and show you to your seats. The mackarel was particularly amazing. The desert was a dream 🤍 I thank the chef again from the bottom of my heart (and stomach) for the spectacular dishes he prepared.

Sensato is hands-down one of the top restaurants I’ve ever been to and I’ve tried a lot as a longtime F&B enthusiast. My husband booked it for my birthday, and from start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. With only seven seats, it’s incredibly exclusive and tough to book, but 100% worth your while if you get the chance. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted and perfectly sequenced like a story told through flavor. The chef is quirky, unintentionally hilarious, and incredibly talented. His slightly awkward charm just makes the whole experience feel even more special. If you’re lucky enough to dine here, expect exceptional food, creativity, and a whole lot of heart. A true hidden gem.

Amazing experience you’ll have to try! Sato prepared dishes right I front of you in an intimate 6 seat restaurant. The quality of the food was great as well as the presentation! If you’re a fan of authentic tasting sushi as you’d find in Japan I highly recommend the experience. After the full menu had concluded we both had enough to eat.

We made a reservation via WhatsApp way before our visit and was able to secure a time slot. The inside is small so there is not a lot of seating available. We arrived 30 min late due to a severe thunderstorm and if it was in NY our reservation would have been canceled by the owner was very accommodating. All the pieces were delicious and you could see how much thought and care the chef puts into each piece. The flavors are simple yet refined, nothing fancy just quality ingredients that are paired well with each other. My favorites were the o-toro, shrimp with shrimp brain and toasted shrimp shell salt, mini mackerel hand roll, and miso soup. This was an amazing meal and reasonably priced. It is a small husband and wife shop and the service was seamless. If I visit Barcelona again I would definitely come back!

What a wonderful experience! Small restaurant that’s serves 7 people max. Pure magic! Ingredients of the great quality. Each dish is beautiful and perfect in its own way. Booking is a must (first Monday of each month) - we will be back, for sure.

Excellent meal. There were 15+ courses, but I'll highlight a particular dish: nigiri with red prawn, topped with its tomalley, torched. The white powder on top that looks like salt is actually the prawn shells that have been dried and ground.

Vale la pena una visita! Updated on December 2024. The menu is 95 euros. There were 12 sushi and other small dishes. They are all tasty. It sits 6 people, so the atmosphere is very exclusive. From this month, online reservation just started. You will need to deposit 50 euros. So, make sure you go there! 💕
