8 Foods to Eat in Curaçao and Where to Try Them - AFAR

"Set in a colonial house with a courtyard strung with lights and a chef who greets tables, this is a go-to for refined Italian-influenced dining; the pan-seared red snapper is dressed in a delicate lemon sauce that lets the fish’s fresh, firm, flaky texture shine, and it pairs beautifully with an Italian white wine for a coastal, upscale experience." - Rosalind Cummings-Yeates

Kate and Michele, the “Saturday personnel” are truly a reflection of excellent customer service. I appreciated their engagement and service . I have only shopped at the store twice since moving to San Marino; they made my shopping experience very pleasant. Sadly, It is rare to receive this level of service nowadays. The owner should be very proud of how the store is represented by these two young people. They must be a reflection of great leadership.

I have been shopping at Serafina for the past years from jewelry, skincare, home care, to clothes. The brands carried here are quite lovely & unique and will definitely save you a drive to the West side. It’s truly one of the local gems at SGV. Special thanks to Grace today for picking out some super awesome jeans for me. They fit great and look super flattering. :)

Yelp
A Slice of Shopping Heaven in San Marino Serafina is less of a boutique and more of a retail paradise where the fashion angels sing and the decor whispers, "Go on, treat yourself." Nestled in the heart of San Marino, just a stone's throw from Pasadena, it's the kind of place that makes you feel like royalty--no tiara required. Upon entering, it's clear this is no ordinary clothing emporium. The mix of designers is so carefully curated, I half expected to find a gallery label next to the Nili Lotan display. And with threads by Sea NY and Helmut Lang hanging around, you're not just shopping; you're adding to your art collection. The handbags? They've got more personality than a reality TV star. Shoes that make Cinderella's glass slipper look like a flip-flop. Fine jewelry that has you sparkling brighter than the twinkle in your eye. And let's not forget the gift items--because who doesn't love presents? But wait, there's more! A children's boutique so adorable, even your little ones will want to extend playtime to dress-up time. With names like Splendid and Ella Moss, your kids are walking out of there runway-ready for the sandbox catwalk. Sipping on Pellegrino while the staff, who are more like your personal fashion consultants, cater to your every need? Check. Enjoying a cappuccino as you peruse luxury labels? Double check. Feeling as comfortable as if you were lounging in your own living room? Well, if your living room was a casually chic sanctuary of style, then yes--triple check! If Serafina were a song, it'd be a symphony of style, luxury, and comfort. So next time you're in San Marino and need a dose of retail therapy, float on into Serafina and float out like the fashion deity you truly are.

Yelp
I agree with the other reviews regarding lack of service. It was clear I didn't fit their demographic so they gave me a once over and ignored me rest of the time I perused the cute items in store. The expectant bye as I thanked them and walked out empty handed sealed the deal for me - I will not be returning. I really wanted to like this place and have been eyeing it every time I drive by. Unfortunate.

Yelp
I recently moved to the area from Brentwood and was excited to see a cute shop with a nicely curated selection of some of my favorite brands like Xirena and Saloni, they also have a nice selection of home items like candles and hostess gifts. I hate giving 2 stars, but in this instance my two stars go for the low level of customer service. No one greets you when you walk in (I've been a few times), no one asks to hold your items at the counter when they see you holding an armful of items, when I ask for a size they say that's all they have and can't be bothered to say they can order it for you or provide alternatives. This store seems to cater to the white and 60+ set (that's all there was at the store both times I've visited) and if you don't fit that demographic, they don't care you'll be dropping $5-600. I wanted to support a local business but I rather make the drive back to the country mart than give my money to a shop that does not value all of their shoppers. Perhaps I expect too much out of my shopping experience, but now more than ever (pandemic) I want my limited entries to shops to be memorable. I don't want to think "oh, I had a shitty time when I bought this $400 dress".

Yelp
Super cute boutique, highly curated with beautiful quality things for people with specific aesthetics. I appreciate the location, too. It's tucked away in San Marino on Mission St. right across from Julienne. I came in today to pick up a few things I wanted online. They gave me good service and honored the Yelp check-in for 10% off. I am satisfied with my purchase and will gladly return again when I need something or to buy gifts.

Yelp
Rude staff, no one greets you or offers any kind of assistance. Lack customer service, first and last time here.

Yelp
High end and unique items. Elegant and classy. They also have a great kids' section that should not be over-looked. Staff is very friendly and gives absolute no pressure so you can enjoy browsing. Love this place!

Yelp
I was stumped trying to select a gift for my best friend's 50th birthday until I reached out. After lots of consultation, I got the perfect gift and it was painless! Thank you so much for the personalized service and uniquely precious offerings! This is a very special place.

Yelp
Love this shop. They are so responsive and quick to get the items you want even if they don't have it on hand. The merchandise wonderfully curated and are unique and beautiful. Wonderful ladies there who make you feel welcomed and provide the best customer service. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
love love love this place!! This is such a lovely place! It has baby stuff & adult stuff; however, it is exceptionally pricey. The ladies who work there are fashionable & cute too!! A must go place if you're looking for something high-end. Even their sale items are reduced to nothing less than $100

Yelp
This place is dangerous... It has all the stuff you'd want on Melrose with the convenience and peace and quiet of San Marino. I've gotten quite a few favorite pieces all at 50% off, Loeffler Randall boots, Claire Vivier bag and other cute shoes and tops. They carry brands like Alexander Wang, Golden Goose and MiH jeans. Also, they are super kid friendly. My kids actually don't mind going in there while I browse since they have a little room full of children's toys, clothing and shoes. They have bottled waters and sometimes even cookies for customers. Right now I'm eyeing their sunglasses and some of their jewelry. I love that they carry local designers as well as some of the more famous designers.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite boutiques in the San Marino/Pasadena area. I grew up here and find a lot of the other clothing stores to not fit my style. Serafina is a combination of preppy and modern which is exactly what I am. They carry brands you may not see at a regular department store and do appreciate it. The customer service is decent and I enjoy the treats they have out for you on the counter they get from Julienne. I try to support small local business as much as possible and think more people should too.

Yelp
I love this store. Very nice selection of accessories. They have great customer service. If I lived near by this store would be very dangerous for me.

Yelp
This is a beautiful boutique along Mission street. The merchandise is very elegant, as is the store itself. They have a really unique collection of clothing and other items (accessories, shoes, etc...). Everything is also very tastefully displayed. The two young women who helped me were nothing but nice and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the items they carried.

Yelp
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER CARE I was hoping it was going to be a delightful shop and it seemed promising but I was really turned off by their lack of care and their unwillingness to try to win a potentially loyal and spendy customer. I have passed by this store many times because of my frequent and indulgent but oh so delightful Julienne drop ins. I was never drawn to check out Serafina until a couple months ago when I was searching the web for a certain dress and discovered Serafina carries some of the designer's clothes. I stopped in and found 2 dresses but they didn't carry the dress I wanted but they did have a similar style by the designer. I was really unsure about it and I expressed this to the sales person helping me and then I asked about their return policy. This is a pivotal moment but either the sales person misspoke or I misunderstood her or I didn't hear her correctly. It happens.....my hearing & brain aren't as sharp as they once were....but honestly if I had heard STORE CREDIT ONLY.......I wouldn't have taken the dress I wasn't certain about. So I end up buying 2 dresses I like and the one I'm leaning against but it's the only one in my size so I'm thinking buy it and try it on at home and decide later because I need to leave. Days later, with a clearer mind and better judgement I end up bringing it back. Surprise on me......they only offer store credit! Rashomon effect happening right now as I explain that I didn't know this policy & wouldn't have bought something I was on the fence about if I couldn't get a refund. Their claim is that all small boutiques operate this way but I shop at other small boutiques and I haven't encountered a store credit only policy. They were cold and unsympathetic about the misunderstanding as the manager points to a sign at the counter that explains this policy but, really....how many customers actually read those signs? On one hand I get it, but I bought 3 dresses and was very open about not loving the 3rd dress which prompted me to ask about their return policy. The manager & owner coldly told me they felt good about their policies. So I quickly left, store credit in hand, but I was really bothered by their attitude and tone towards me the rest of the afternoon and days later. Honestly, it makes me feel uncomfortable to go back to the store. I looked at their website to avoid going in there but nothing appealed to me. I noticed the customer care on their website states: Serafina will gladly issue a refund for non sale items returned within 7 days of purchase and accompanied by a sales receipt. Item must be in its original condition and must be unworn with all tags attached and in its original packaging. It says R E F U N D on their website! When I pointed this out to the manager she claimed refund doesn't mean you get your money back. Uhmmmmmm....yeah, that is the definition of refund......to give back or restore (especially money); repay. to make repayment to; reimburse. I know this is a very long rant but a little courtesy and understanding goes a long way and pleasant transactions encourages repeat visits and loyal customers. But I guess STORE CREDIT ONLY forces customers to return for more unpleasant treatment.

Yelp
Like another reviewer said, this place is dangerous. Beautiful items in an equally beautiful location. The sales ladies were very helpful. Don't forget to check in for a discount. I completely forgot but I'm sure I can use it in the future.
