There's a hidden hot spot and artisanal bar tucked inside Mr. Lyons steakhouse in Palm Springs. I'm so glad I found it! It probably accommodates 20 people with the bar and seating area. You can access the hideaway Seymour's from the parking lot on the side entrance or walk behind the heavy curtain from Mr. Lyons pub area.
When I entered, I felt like I just found the coolest spot in town. The atmosphere is dark and early Seventies inspired, the cocktails are very interesting and decently priced, and the vibe is young, hip, and fun. They play vintage black and white cartoons and movies on the video screen behind the bar.
I went two nights in a row because I liked it so much. The Kikori Crusta I had on my first visit with Japanese whisky, Napoleon Mandarin cognac and absinthe was the last thing I remembered that night. It was delicious, but deadly. The second night, I scaled it back and ordered the Oaxacan Brunch with mezcal, lime juice and egg white which was a richer, creamier, arty margarita. As we walked into the bar on the second night, a fun group of four started hitting on us. We didn't enter before a friendly, intoxicated woman shared a glimpse of her bare gorgeous derrière with me.
I don't know how much longer this place will stay hidden, but both nights we found seating. It's really fun. I highly recommend it.
