"The ShiBurger at Shibuya Eatery in Adams Morgan isn’t your typical American burger, and that’s why we love it. This thick beef patty (it’s not a smashburger like the menu says) is topped with sriracha mayonnaise, pickled cucumbers, grilled onions, and smoked cheddar cheese and has a bold umami flavor. The burger, much like the restaurant that’s lined in posters from classic anime and Hollywood films, is a fun mix of Japanese and American cultures—and where you should go for Happy Hour to grab $5 drinks." - Tristiana Hinton, Omnia Saed
"There’s excitement from the moment you step into Shibuya Eatery in Adams Morgan. The bright red walls are covered in anime posters of classic shows like Deathnote and Akira . A musical soundtrack of Paper Planes and Bulletproof plays loudly above the sushi bar and black leather booths. It’s a fun mix of Japanese and American cultures, which you’ll also find in dishes like the —a juicy beef patty topped with pickled cucumbers, sriracha mayo, grilled onions, and smoked cheddar cheese. A daily Happy Hour runs from 5-7pm and 10pm-close. Choose from an extensive sake list, Japanese beers on tap, and signature cocktails, and top it off with fresh bar bites like karaage and shichimi fries. " - Tristiaña Hinton
"Sushi is but one speciality for this restaurant from Darren Norris, formerly of Kushi and Perry’s. Along with rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, the menu brings together ramen, meats grilled over binchotan charcoal that reaches temps of 975 degrees, and parade of small plates. Well-equipped bento boxes are $20 or $30." - Tierney Plumb, Eater Staff
"Chef Darren Norris’ Japanese restaurant in Adams Morgan puts a karaage-style spin on soft shell crabs with citrus crust and lemon verbena." - Tierney Plumb
"Chef Darren Norris puts Japanese spins on the Chesapeake Bay delicacy at his Adams Morgan izakaya. Crispy soft shell crab joins sweet chili sesame mazemen (brothless ramen), scallion, beni shoga, and a heap of noodles for one filling entree ($25). On the sushi side, crispy soft crab stars in a Spider Roll ($18) with cucumber and avocado. A fried soft shell crab sandwich comes with house pickles, bang bang sauce, and wasabi fries. Order any from the basement Shibuya Eatery or up at its penthouse cocktail bar (Death Punch)." - Tierney Plumb
