Mediterranean eatery serving Israeli classics, dips, and more

"For those in need of a reset, this all-day Victorian District cafe and bar delivers. Influenced by Eastern Mediterranean culture, the menu abounds with fresh and healthful options, like hummus, falafel, pita sandwiches, salads, herbal teas, and more. For a shareable starter, order the whipped feta with crushed pistachios and pomegranate honey. On the weekends, cocktails are also available from 11 a.m. to close." - Colleen McNally Arnett

"A counter-service spot in the Victorian district offering Mediterranean staples such as Israeli salads and stuffed pita."
"Long lines at Borough Market can sometimes result in disappointment, but not at Shuk;. So if there’s a wait at the Israeli stall, know the generously stuffed pitas are worth it. Our favourite filling in the springy bread is juicy chicken shawarma with plenty of garlicky toum, herby schug, and crunchy salad. Grab a pile of napkins, find a bench, and dive in. photo credit: Koray Firat" - Daisy Meager

"Shuk has only been open in Savannah for just over a year, but has already taken over as the area’s top provider of Mediterranean foods, dips, and spreads. It was a region of food that needed representation in the city, and Shuk filled it expertly with chicken shawarma, shakshuka, and doner kebabs. The menu standout is the muhamara, a spread that’s comprised of roasted red pepper, walnuts, and pomegranate seeds, and served with pita bread and crudités. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, but it is set up with plenty of high tables and bar stools to accommodate as many eaters as possible." - Elizabeth Bowers
