"Siam Cafe is one of the oldest Thai restaurants in Nashville, and it’s still going strong. Since 1976, they’ve been serving classic Thai dishes long before Nolensville Pike became the go-to stretch for global eats. Along with International Market, this restaurant was the first taste of Thai food for generations of Nashvillians. The prices also seem stuck in another time—all the curries and noodles are under $15, making this one of the most affordable places in town, full stop. Come for takeout and get some $7 som tum and an extra peanutty massaman curry, or lad nah noodles covered in a rich gravy for a super filling meal that’ll cost under $25. photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks" - Anas Saba

"Tucked away off Nolensville Pike, Siam Cafe has been a trailblazer when it comes to Thai food in Nashville since the Silpacharn family opened it in 1972. Hit the buffet or grab a table on the full-service side of the restaurant for some can’t-miss hung ray curry, sweet and spicy Siam duck, or disco chicken." - Clara Wang, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

So delicious & so cozy! We tried the Pad Thai and the dumplings, and both were so fresh and flavorful. The service was fast & hospitable. This place is a hidden gem!

Google
Service and food is always great here, I always get the fried rice or the spicy noodles and they never disappoint, the fried rice here just hits different. If you like it spicy, ask for the chili oil

Google
Staff is very friendly. They greet you with an authentic smile. The dining area is a nice open space with lovely table cloths and unique art. Decent parking, but carpooling recommended. Extensive menu. Just right. Not to much not too little The pad thai is a generous portion with plenty of chicken and shrimp. Noodles are a great texture and the sauce flavorful. Steamed dumplings are nicely pleated and give a large portion of pork. Great selection of Asian beer.

Google
Delicious food from a family owned and run restaurant. The portion sizes are a little on the smaller side compared to other restaurants, but taste-wise the food is huge! Parking can be tight as they have a very small lot in front where the staff have to park their cars too.

Google
Listen, I’ve legitimately tried almost every Thai restaurant in Nashville, and this one reigns supreme. My family and I have been coming here for around 20 years. Now, I will admit, I really only get two items, but I’ve never had anything else close to how good they taste from any restaurant. The Tom Gha Kai soup (I could eat this every day for the rest of my life), and the chicken and vegetable Hung Ray (which is a different/delicious take on a traditional red Thai curry). I’ve had the disco chicken which is very good as well, however I always end up getting the same two items, and they’re phenomenal every time. The owner and his wife are awesome people, they always sit and chat with us when it’s not busy. It’s a little hole in the wall, and the parking sucks, but give it a shot. There’s a reason they’ve been in business forever. You won’t be disappointed.

Google
This is the best homemade Thai food. We love this restaurant. Been eating here for 44 years now. Very friendly family. Highly recommend this place.

Google
Have been going here for over 30 years. Anytime I am in town we even call ahead for our order of beef and broccoli noodles which usually consists of 5 or more containers. Always cooked fresh. Also love seeing Aire and the rest of the family/staff. Always give me a warm hug and welcome. Been going here since I was in elementary school and lets just say thats been a few years ago 😆 . Looking forward to next visit

Google
Yum! This place is THE place for awesome Thai food! Super tasty, can be very spicy, and very authentic! The restaurant is 2 parts: on one side they have a great, filling quick “pick a combo of food for $6,” whereas on the other side it’s a sit down Thai restaurant. If you want the most bang for your buck, go with the fast combination selection! Their fried noodles are a MUST, and their bbq pork is fantastic! I also had their pepper steak (yummy) and their bamboo and chicken curry (mostly bamboo, but so tasty still). I highly suggest this place when you want a no-frills just food place. Now onto the staff, this family is amazing. They’re super funny, say whatever is on their mind, and constantly joke around with the customers and make you laugh. Even though I ordered food to go, I still left a tip just because I was constantly laughing and smiling from these guys. So in the end, would I come back? 100000% YES 🙏What would I order? Probably anything since it all looks and tastes good. If I do the combo again, I would get the noodles, bbq pork, and then either the steak or the bamboo chicken. On the main menu? People seem to get the red curry or any of the flat rice noodle dishes a lot, so probably those. I highly recommend this place to anyone, and I plan on coming here often now that I have discovered this place.

Yelp
Soy sauce noodles are delicious!!! Add chili oil for heat the service is amazing, quick service as well !

Yelp
Ordered delivery through Yelp (who gets it from Grubhub) for 4 people, got: - fresh spring rolls: pretty tasty, good sauce, lots of vegetables, light - spicy noodles (otherwise known as pad kee mao / drunken noodle) with tofu: quite tasty, liked that it was spicy (I asked for it spicy) and quite flavorful. Noodles weren't chewy though and stuck together a bit. - pad thai: comes with chicken and shrimp, not much flavor. Noodles all stuck together, nothing impressive. - red curry with tofu and green curry with tofu: both watered down, flavor was just okay. Asked for the green curry to be spicy which it was so at least that was good. Good amount of vegetables and tofu. Good amount of food, came out to be around $67 post-tax pre-tip, but for whatever reason, there was about $14 of delivery and service fee on top of that charged, yikes.

Yelp
Can't beat Siam Cafe service! With a family run business usually comes smiling faces when new customers walk in. We were welcomed and sat immediately when arriving to Siam Cafe. The dumplings- amazing!! great flavor, not too filling to make sure you have room for your main meal. We got green curry, red curry, and pad thai. The pad Thai was perfectly cooked and fresh. The curries were extremely satisfying. Very pleased with our time at Siam cafe, will definitely be back!

Paul M.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots. This is super solid no frills authentic Thai. Prices are incredibly right, portions huge, and the owner gentleman is very nice. I usually order takeout and never a complaint. There were nine (!) shrimp in my L Tom Yum soup and the tray of spicy (drunken style) noodles weighed like a brick. Just can't beat the value!

Antonia R.

Yelp
SO GOOD and very friendly family-run restaurant. Good on them for closing at 8! Fantastic prices especially for the value

Deborah W.

Yelp
Great food, tasty, hot, and delicious funny, sweet server Odd hrs. Call before going, take to go orders

Yelp
Honestly, the best Thai food place in Nashville. It's very very good. The service is great, the food is tasty and very well done. And it's owned by a local who is very friendly. I highly recommend eating here if you like Thai food or even have a passing desire to try it.

Susan R.

Yelp
The best Thai in Nashville, imho. Family owned and cozy, I've loved coming to Siam for years! It feels like a secret hideaway. Yummy x infinity!

Kelly A.

Yelp
Best Thai in Nashville!!!!! Everything is good and the family who owns it is very sweet! Our go to place!

Amber M.

Yelp
As a Nashville Native, I can proudly say I've been eating here since birth (I'm not kidding). Siam Cafe holds many memories for me. As a kid, I ate here ALOT with my parents. I really miss when they had the cafeteria bit up front. You could get 3 items for $5 AND get a free soup. Memories aside, Siam Cafe is some of the best thai food Nashville has to offer, and they have a good menu. They're also the kindest family which to me that makes Siam even more special. A few menu highlights for me: The soups. So many asian restaurants have flavorless, over salted soups, but not Siam. I love every single one of their soups, and I'm not even a soup person. The Hot and Sour is especially good as well as the Egg Drop. Papaya Salad The curries!

Yelp
Go. Go now. Go every day. Best food in nashville. I personally can only handle mild to medium spice, but have mercy I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. My favorite Thai food in all of nashville hands down. Please go now and tip well. Support family, and they are family - Jess Leonard

Tuan L.

Yelp
Best fried rice in Nashville. Owner/sever was very hospitable even though I arrived at closing time. I had the squid salad, shrimp fried rice, and fried bananas for dessert. Fried bananas were also amazing. Will have to try the mango and sticky rice here next time.

Yelp
Talk about having missed out on a Nashville Gem! It took me almost 7 years but I made it and I'm so grateful! My first restaurant sit down meal since the pandemonium began and I'm so happy I could cry. This place is a perfect description of do not judge a book by its cover. The PROS and it's all pros from here on out: You walk in and immediately greeted by a friendly kind soul - the owner! You sit and you look and the menu. All of it explained, tons of options, explanation of heat levels and did I mention tons of options! I can't make up my mind (mb a con?). I get the Tiger Tear - it's a salad let that simmer for a moment. Also order the fried spring roll. My friend gets I can't remember the name but I can point it out on the menu so don't judge me! And the dumplings. Dumplings & rolls on deck - perfect to share. Just enough to savor but not enough to fill you up. The best part both were delicious. If I'm biased the DUMPLINGS WERE AMAZING! Flavorful and stuffed. The rolls were good, thin shell and crispy. Then after getting refills (the attention to detail - our cups were never ever empty!) we get our meals and welp right here I can tell you that the delicious aroma is enough to know I'm going back, like tomorrow! The shrimp dish was spectacular, generous amount of shrimp, the broccoli was soft enough with a crisp the heat was perfect and it was soooooo tasty! My salad you may ask - the most amazing tender well seasoned beef I've had in Nashville! It was a TON of beef over lettuce (iceberg but if you are going to judge then greens when the beef is so good we can't be friends) and red onions in a delicious marinade that was spicy but not burning. The spice level of both dishes just made it better. The owner was also our waiter and was simply wonderful. If you are looking for a great Thai restaurant in Nashville Siam is the place to go.

Yelp
I have been to Siam enough to say that they offer some of the finest Thai food in Nashville. The establishment has been around since 1976 in a small divey restaurant off Nolensville Road and McCall Street. Though you might hate the parking situation upon arrival that might dampen the beginning; fear not! Your experience will get better once you've had the cuisine and the service. Do bear in mind that parking is available in front of the restaurant, but it is extremely limited. There is street parking on McCall. Be careful to not obstruct driveways or park in other business lots unaffiliated with the restaurant. If you happen to receive Air (that's her name) as your server, be prepared for a good laugh and an experience. She is full of personality and usually in good jest. Generally, service is decent and you will find yourself well attended. I really like the food. They can turn up the heat on the spice if you want it. I cannot handle the heat and find the food still flavorful even with no spice. They are pretty catering to the consumer when it comes to their desired taste and heat offering a good variety even for the finicky eater. My go-to's for meals are usually the Pad Thai, the coconut milk, chicken and mushroom soup, Thai tea, spring rolls, and Lad Na. I hope you guys check it out sometime. Yes, Nashville has a growing food scene, but do not forget the OG's that still have a leg in the race for good food and authentic feels.

Yelp
Saim Cafe is legit Thai food that will satisfy all of your cravings. I highly recommend the shrimp fried rice, pad thai, mango sticky rice and any of the curry options. I had the duck curry and it was truly special. All fan favorites that will make your heart happy. The atmosphere is super cute and between the ambiance and the food you really could be in Thailand. It's tucked away on Nolensville Pike and has a small parking lot out front. Siam cafe is the best thai food on Nolensville Pike and any local will back me up on that.

Carly M.

Yelp
UPDATE! It's STILL AMAZING! Plus, the owner/staff are so friendly and I am treated like family EVERY time I come in. You can find me here once a week! I can't sing their praises enough. There are no negatives! Siam Cafe = LOVE !

Vasanta K.

Yelp
Quality and quantity was good. Loved the flavour of all the items... except that it wasn't spicy at all.. even after specifically asking for higher spice level. Would definitely recommend this place.

Lessie L.

Yelp
This is our favorite Thai restaurant in Nashville. Plus Billy the owner is quite possible one of the nicest human beings ever. The beef Panang is SO good. Awesome for take out too!

Alexis B.

Yelp
There is a certain Thai restaurant that I frequent and it's stopped me from exploring more of the Thai restaurants in Nashville (esp South Nashville), and that's a shame! Because I FINALLY checked out Siam Cafe this past Saturday for lunch with a friend, and it was GREAT. Siam Cafe is family-owned (by the Silpacharn family) and has been open since 1976! It's on McCall, just off Nolensville Road, in South Nashville (my neighborhood). They have a small parking lot out front (which had plenty of spots when I arrived around 1pm for lunch with my friend but was quite full when we left around 3pm). The restaurant is simple, charming, traditional, casual. We sat in the back room, which has some homey charm for sure. I had the satee (grilled marinated chicken on bamboo skewer with housemade peanut sauce and cucumber salad) and the tiger tear salad (grilled sliced beef with onions, seasoned with chili peppers, lime juice, and roasted rice powder on a bed of lettuce). Both were excellent. The peanut sauce that came with the satee was amazing, and the chicken wasn't dry! The beef salad was great. So peppery. My friend had the Panang curry with chicken, which I tried and really enjoyed. We also had Thai tea, which was very good. Everything we tried was good, and I'd be happy to go back and try more based on the quality of what we tried. And the service was excellent. You really feel at home and welcome at Siam Cafe! I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new Thai restaurant to try! Very good. Will be back.

Lauren R.

Yelp
They remember you when you come in! Best fresh spring rolls in Nashville. Everything is great honestly.

Steffie S.

Yelp
Best ever and I NEVER go anywhere else. EVER! Tip: fresh spring rolls and Tom yum koong will change your life. Super sweet service unless it's the high school girls. *If you're lucky enough to gain the presence of Suzanne, you've done well. She's the tops!

Paton G.

Yelp
I love Siam Cafe, it's one of my favorite Thai restaurant in Nashville!!!!! Highly recommend!! High quality food, and well cooked.

Ivy P.

Yelp
Ordered a Siam Fried Rice with vegetables. It was typical, nothing special. I would eat it if I was hungry but probably would not order it again. We asked for spicy noodles with beef. It had shrimp and scallops. I'm allergic to seafood. We checked the description to ensure we didn't order the wrong thing. It turned out seafood charged an extra $2.00. We got food we can't eat. The lady behind the counter however, was very nice.

Janella L.

Yelp
The presentation alone is sweet but the taste is even better! This soup was recommended to us by a very bubbly waitress. It's actually a variation of what's on their menu. I don't know if it's word for word written on their but it's the Tom yum or kha whichever one is not coconut based. With clear noodles and seafood. It was fantastic!

J J.

Yelp
Some items are better than others but overall a very solid Thai joint with great customer service. While not my favorite in Nashville, I think their Pad Thai is still pretty good. It's not too sweet which I personally enjoy. Their CURRY has always been delicious and, to me, that is a dish that is far more difficult to get right than Pad Thai. There is no Pad Se Ew but there is "Soy Sauce Noodles" which looks like Pad Se Ew but tastes extremely bland. I had to add a shit ton of soy sauce to it to make it edible. The fresh rolls come with a clear sauce and not peanut sauce which makes me sad. All of the other items I've tried have been really good and fresh. Siam isn't Thai perfection for me but it's pretty darn close to it.

James W.

Yelp
I was actually pleased to find this place since it seems all the Thai places near me are not that good. The location has apparently been here a while and their is plenty of room inside, but their is practically no parking in their actual lot. It seems like most people were getting takeout so the parking lot is strictly for them. That being said I was able to find a spot on the road nearby easily enough. The food itself was fantastic, and the spice level was exactly what I expected when ordering medium. I have been to some places where medium is very hot, while others make it to mild. Siam has it spot on, and the flavors were almost exactly as expected. I tasted the soy sauce noodles (pad-see-ew) and the tom kha gai soup and both were great. I was pleased to see plum wine since that is one of my favorites. Overall I will return and you can safely go here and enjoy some tasty Thai food.

Chuck S.

Yelp
Siam Cafe has been voted best Thai in Nashville many year in a row in various magazines and publications. That's a first right out of the gate that I don't think many other places can boast. I've dined in, gotten delivery, and pick up from Siam more times than I can count over the past 10 years. I have always had a great experience. I highly recommend the Green Curry, Red Curry, and dumplings. You can't go wrong here! Give it a shot. 5 stars, every time. Love it, and love the way Siam does Thai in Nashville! Keep it up!

Jay D.

Yelp
Great Thai restaurant. It is consistent and the food is very good. No complaints. I eat here every time I am in Nashville!

John R.

Yelp
So here I am, the hot-shot, "You should eat here," kind of guy. Well...not so much. I've been driving by Siam Cafe for t-h-i-r-t-y years. That's 3-0 folks. Now I'm wearing a dunce hat. How many other hidden gems do we drive by and think - "Nah, couldn't be." Mistake rectified. What a nice place. Super nice people that make you feel at home. I had chicken satay & spicy noodles with tofu. Medium heat. I'm always somewhere between medium and hot. I heard a diner behind me ask for hot sauce. What could that be? Sambal Oelek? Siracha? I've been served minced Birdseye chili pepper before. That can ruin your day if not handled properly. It was just perfect. Just what you'd expect. The lovely basil noodle & veg. The tofu was super tender. Can't wait to see what their soups and their green curry noodle are like. Better than Nina's at Thai Esane? (Nina's game is strong y'all, and she fine too.) Maybe not better but different and also good. It's an adventure folks, we're lucky to be on it, don't whine.

Mark S.

Yelp
I'm always reluctant to try a new Thai place. Is it going to approximate the real deal or is it going to be a glorified stir fry joint? I know what the real deal is - my cousin married a Thai and he happens to know how to cook. So with a great deal of reluctance we tried Siam Cafe tonight. Parking was tight but available - we were greeted immediately upon entering. We decided to order off the menu - I ordered the pla mug prao prig (squid with jalapeno pepper, onion and chili pepper) and I asked for it spicy with a side of rice. My father ordered the lad nah (flat rice noodles with broccoli and gravy - his choice of protein was chicken.) The main course was served with a large spoon and I was glad about that - the jalapeno and onion was sliced and the spoon enabled me to get a scoop of sauce with each bite. The heat level I would describe as three alarm; I will not have to use baby powder in the morning. (By comparison Prince's extra hot chicken is so hot that it will curdle milk and strip bark off of trees.) Service was prompt and excellent, although my impression was that the server was fairly new. Pre-bussing was good although I must admit that I'm a slow eater so my plates were still on the table when we left. The only negatives were that the AC was low and the server forgot my drink order. She was very pleasant and when I asked her for a Diet Coke she immediately brought one back. In conclusion, we will be going back to Siam Cafe. The star of the show was the food - give it a try y'all.

Rick J.

Yelp
Been visiting this place for over 20 years, but after hearing the lady at the front counter today say to a customer "Can't you read? It's in your language" as they asked about their to-go order, I'll never spend money here again.

Paul T.

Yelp
Maybe we just came on an off day, but it was a VERY off day. Place looks a bit rough on the outside, but eh who cares so long as the food is good. ... here, it was not. Everything tasted stale. Old. Not fresh. Thai coffee, burnt. Soy noodles, a bit hard and chewy. Veggies in the curry, meh. People were nice and I wanted to like it. I feel bad about giving them 2 stars, but that's what it was.

Matt L.

Yelp
Hot pot soups and Siam fried rice. Cool fusion of old and new with an established vibe.

Laura V.

Yelp
Best authentic Thai food I ever had! The best food is usually in small places like Siam Cafe. The food is not greasy and it truly has a tradicional delicious taste! The owners are really sweet and funny. This restaurant is our new spot for Thai food! Bravo!!

Paul K.

Yelp
Covid 19 update: they are open for takeout. They have been busy enough that they haven't been able to answer the phone sometimes which is cool

Stuart B.

Yelp
Look no further for a better Thai restaurant in Nashville. The food is always fantastic, authentic and very reasonable. Year after year the food is consistently amazing!

Brandon C.

Yelp
The food here is always excellent and the service is great. After many visits to Thai restaurants around Nashville, this has become my go to. The owner is great and is always very friendly.

Matt Z.

Yelp
Siam has always been one of our favorites - great food, great people. Flavors are always savory, food seems very authentic, love them!

R B.

Yelp
IT TOOK ME YEARS...to visit here...and finally did after Zoolumination! My dish was amazing. The servers are amazing as well!

Natalie O.

Yelp
If you blink you will miss this place but it's worth the try. The food is delicious! One of my new favorite Thai restaurants.

Harshal K.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant, the food and owners, employees and waiters are equally and hands down five stars! Order anything you wish to, you can't go worng here !!! We ordered Thai ice tea, veg spring roles, veg hot n sour soup, red curry, fried banana and coconut ice cream for dessert. They all were treat for taste buds, I would definitely visit this place again. Thank you!

Tom J.

Yelp
This was my first visit. I'd read all the reviews and driven by and seen the small parking lot always full at night. My test dish is pad ke mao (drunken noodles, which Siam Cafe calls spicy noodles). So that's what I had. I ordered it medium hot, and they got the spice level perfect to my taste. But the noodles were too oily, and just didn't measure up to other Thai places such as Thai Phooket and King Market. Also, I ran out of water before it got refilled, and had I used the side dish of chili, I would have been in trouble. It looks like curry is the preferred dish here, so next time I'll try that.

Cat M.

Yelp
This restaurant is the best Thai food in Nashville. There are plenty of good places, but this one takes the cake.

Blair S.

Yelp
My first trip to Siam Cafe was a few years ago with a bunch of Thai friends. We tried a mix of menu items and Thai dishes not on the menu. Now that I'm often in the area, this makes a great lunch stop. The servers are friendly and funny, and the food comes out fast. The tom kha kai is something I got addicted to in Thailand and Siam Cafe always hits the spot. The seafood is OK, the curries are great, and the basil stir fries are good. Ask for a spice tray to get the spice level right.

Patrick R.

Yelp
I haven't had a lot of Thai food, but since I love Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese, I figured this place would probably be up my alley. I was right. The dining room at Siam Cafe is pretty sizable, and there are several neat little booths with pillows and cushions perfect for lounging during a casual meal. Our server was quite a character, and she checked on us and made small talk regularly. I ordered the Pad Thai, which my friend informed me is a relatively simple, traditional dish. It was quite delicious, and the portions are pretty huge, especially considering the less exotic entrees only cost around $7-$10. Fancier items (especially anything containing squid) are quite a bit pricier. My dish had chicken and shrimp (though the shrimp-to-chicken ratio was a little weak) seasoned with a really tasty peanut oil. The atmosphere and staff at Siam Cafe are very friendly and informal. It's a nice spot to go with a friend or two, though I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for large parties. As far as Thai goes, it's probably the best I've had. I'll definitely go back, and I recommend it to anyone with a penchant for Asian food.

Alicia U.

Yelp
Very solid choice for Thai Food. Staff is very friendly and they stay open till 10pm. Som Tom (green papaya salad) was really yummy! Ordered medium spicy and it had just a hint of hotness. This is a savory salad of shredded green papaya, slivers of carrot, tomato all marinated in a sour, briny, and tad sweet dressing. One if my fav salads and this one is just as good as the som toms in Los Angeles. Soy Sauce Noodles (pad see ew) were good too. Scrambled eggs with broccoli, chicken and flat rice noodles stir fried in a sweet soy sauce. Their pad see ew is a little more gravy like reminiscent of lad na. I prefer a little darker soy sauce flavor and slightly drier noodle. If you can't take spicy, try this noodle dish. You will like it :)

Sophie G.

Yelp
Siam Cafe is hands down the best Thai food in Nashville! The service is just as fantastic as the food! The owners are both so sweet and remember their customers. On Valentine's Day, they have us a free cupcake for dessert. The thought and care that goes into the restaurant is extremely apparent and very much appreciated. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!!!!!!!!

Paolo B.

Yelp
A really bad place. Food is super sweet and sticky, not even remotely what Thai food should be

Jennifer P.

Yelp
I love Thai food, especially Pad Thai, so when we went here for Supper Club I was really excited. I enjoyed what I had for dinner (for the most part), but it ended up making me really sick. My friend was fine though. I might try it one more time to see if it was me or the place itself, but it definitely gave me a mixed first impression.

Brabdi B.

Yelp
Doesnt look like much on the outside, but the food is amazing. Best Thai food hands down. Definitely worth a try. I will say I'm not huge fan of there buffet but everything out of the restaurant side is amazing!!
