Sichuan Hot Pot - Review - Nolensville Pike - Nashville - The Infatuation

"For a long time, this was the only place for hot pot in Nashville. A few more have opened, but this is still our preferred option for bubbling broth. They have a ton of different interest options for soup bases—Mandarin duck, green clam, and winter melon—but the spicy is the one we keep coming back to, especially in winter months when we’re looking to clear out our sinuses. There are also plenty of other great dishes like mapo tofu, garlic eggplant, and more." - Anas Saba

The Best Chinese Food in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"As the restaurant’s name promises, hot pot is its spotlight. Burners on the tables keep pots of herb, tomato, lamb, winter melon, or other broths roiling as you toss in an extensive assortment of ingredients such as beef, shrimp, and chicken, as well as fresh mushrooms and other vegetables. If that doesn’t fill you up, you can also order dozens of other dishes like chow rice cakes, chow mei fun, and Hainanese chicken. The spot is located right of Nolensville Pike." - Ellen Fort

Google
Fast, no non-sense service. Great authentic Chinese food options. They served like at least 3 kinds of sweet and sour fish, and they put a whole fish in it. Awesome! They have an events room that offers karaoke good for 60people. What a gem!

Every time I come to this Sichuan hotpot and Asian food restaurant, I feel like I'm having a feast for my taste buds! Not only is the hotpot soup base spicy and fresh, the mandarin duck pot stickers satisfy different tastes, but also the various hot stir-fries and dim sum are wonderful. The shrimp dumplings have thin skin and rich fillings, the walnut shrimp is sweet and crispy, the beef brisket and tofu casserole is rich and flavorful, the crispy pigeon is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the black pepper beef tenderloin is tender and juicy. I can't stop eating! The ingredients are fresh and the dishes are exquisitely presented, which is very suitable for gatherings and family dinners. Recommended to everyone who loves Chinese food and hotpot

Feels like I traveled outside of Nashville and was transported to a meal out this world! Wow the food was amazing. Not cheap but I understand why. Clean, quiet, and served quick. Amazing photo ops and perfect for a date night, group meal, or special outing.

Google
The food tastes great, and the portion of each dish is large. I like the beautiful environment here, and you can take pictures of Chinese art in every corner. The boss lady is very enthusiastic, and their food is very fresh. I will come here often.

Google
Sichuan Hot Pot & Asian Cuisine is amazing! The sweet - and - sour shrimps are crispy outside, tender inside, full of flavor. The spicy hot pot is 鲜香 (fragrant and spicy) with fresh ingredients. A table of delicious food is so satisfying~ Great service too. Will come back!

Google
I really enjoyed my time here! I was apart of a huge party and they were able to accommodate us very nicely! The service was great! The food was even better! I got the steamed pork buns for an appetizer and the orange chicken for my entree! 10/10!!! The entrees are huge so perfect for sharing!

lina

Google
My favourites are the stir fried spare ribs, spicy seafood boil and of course the hot pot, which has a huge variety of soup bases so there is something for everyone.

Google
My husband and I love going here for the hot pot. Fresh ingredients and well worth the money. We enjoy ourselves every time. The food speaks for itself, staff is attentive (not over the top), and the decor is beyond what you'd find in many other establishments. They change their menu for the seasons. They also have plenty of pictures in their menu to help you decide (much appreciated). Their steamed buns are as close to the real thing as I can imagine. Light and fluffy, not sweet like many other places. Come and enjoy like we do. You won't regret it!

Yelp
I had never tried Hot Pot at a restaurant before - so I wanted to try this place for my birthday with my family this week. What an absolute treat. Being complete newbies the server gave us great recommendations for what to try for the first time. I had the seafood combination and was blown away by the whole selection. I had never tried squid, blue crab, any of the squid/fish balls, or oysters and I loved each one in the Herb Broth. Also this spot is so cute. The burners in the table are such a good idea and the little gazebo set ups are adorable. Additionally, since it was my birthday they gave me a cute lil ice cream scoop with a candle and gave me a little gift basket! I've never had that at a restaurant before it was so sweet. Thank you guys so much!

Yelp
Wonderful! My son and I love authentic Chinese food, especially Szechuan having recently moved to Tulsa. We have tried lots of different places and this by far is one of the best places we found in Tulsa. the portions are filling an intentionally made the ratio of key ingredients like meat. chicken pork and seafood to vegetables are perfect. I get a pot of green tea every time and it's just Some of the best tea I've ever had ... I would definitely recommend this place if you like authentic Szechuan style food, you will not be disappointed and pleasantly satisfied.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and every time I've been it has been good. My recent trip here I ordered the combination curry hot pot with lamb. Everything tasted very good. Service was also good. I also like their fried ribs. It's a must order for appetizer.

Yelp
This place is truly great and truly a gym in the community. It has a very authentic hot pot, which is very hard to find. The staff is great, especially Eddie. He is always kind and considerate providing great service! Eddie will not let you down and neither will this restaurant. It really has the best Chinese food in all of Nashville maybe in the whole world! Come and get it!

Yelp
I came here with a few friends and this was my first experience of hot pot. It's visually overwhelming inside with the sheer magnitude of the space (I still have no idea where the restaurant ends) along with a huge fountain, large statues, and two gazebos! There is a very large extensive menu as well so I recommend going with someone who knows what they're doing or doing a little research online first. Our table drastically over-orderer even with an expert! The food itself was fresh and tasty, but the service was subpar. The whole dining experience took 3 hours and it took about 40 minutes from being seated to be able to place our order. They also forgot part of my order, but when I saw how much food came out, I told them to take it off the ticket which they did. Overall a cool experience!

Yelp
I have been going here since they opened and I still get overwhelmed at what I want to order. Generally I order a little of everything and then forced to bring it home. Their dim sum menu is awesome and plenty of authentic Chinese dishes not to mention their normal dinner menu. I have a habit of ordering to go when o get off work- over indulging! Some of my favorites are the stir fried spare ribs, the seafood boil with Mala flavors, the hot pot of course and with so many soup base everyone has something. You will not be disappointed in trying out this place and the food. So much variety and the flavors you can't fine anywhere around here. My kids and I love going and especially for birthday parties because you get to have individual (personal) hot pots. The staff is always so nice and attentive even with big parties. We have reserved party rooms and did karaoke as well and the service didbt disappoint.

Yelp
A favorite when I'm in the mood for hot pot in Nashville (aka whenever it gets cold.) There are not that many truly authentic Chinese places in the greater Nashville area and this isn't the best hot pot I've ever had, but it is one of the more authentic ones in this area, with a full build-your-own-sauce bar, which is key to me at a true hot pot restaurant. I always go for the vegetarian combination platter with herb broth and add a plate of sliced chicken. The veggie combo provides a great selection of a variety of traditional veggie options - different kinds of mushrooms, cabbage, spinach, yubu (tofu skin), corn, taro, white radish, seaweed. It is the perfect, filling amount for two people. I have watched a few folks who have never had hot pot before come and order a bunch of individual items instead of just getting the combination platter, which comes with a great variety of protein and veggies, so please don't make that mistake! You'll end up getting a much better deal, more manageable amount of food, and good variety with the combo platter. For a slight upcharge, I always ask to switch out the rice noodles that come on the combo platter for rice cake deliciousness - highly recommend doing this as the rice cakes are chewy and very pleasant with a good sauce. The herb broth is a bit bland, but that's perfect for me as I use the sauces to jazz it up to my liking and it always turns out perfect. We have tried the spicy broth, but be forewarned that the spicy broth is not for the faint of heart. My mom, who loves spicy food, once got this and it was so spicy it was unbeatable for her - she was practically crying while trying to eat it. I haven't really done much of the cooked-to-order food here. My mom is convinced that the cashew chicken she got here once gave her food poisoning, but my dad and I have never had that experience. I do want to try the soup dumplings here at some point, because this is one of the few places that serve them. If you are primarily doing hot pot, it's a pretty healthy / dietary restriction friendly meal to have - this is one of my diabetic dad's favorite places to eat out! No reservations needed, easy parking (but keep in mind this is not the safest area and please lock your car.) Attentive service, inexpensive meal, decent Asian beer options - great place to bring a crowd for a unique dining experience.

Yelp
Got it delivered, came out fantastic! GrubHub sucks but that has nothing to do with the food. We had the Beef Lo Mein and Szechuan Beef lunch specials, both outstanding! Huge portions and if you check the spicy box, it's actually spicy! Thank you! So many things on the menu here, will definitely be back to try more!
google avatar

Gigi N.

Yelp
I don't come here for the hotpot, I only order special dishes from the menu. Food is good but it's still "Americanized" a little bit. I usually ask for less oil less salt and they are fine. Hainanese chicken and stir fried rice cake with pork are usually my comfort food there. The place is roomy and well decorated even though the pond in the lobby seemed not well taken care of. Service is okay, they don't give extra effort to check on customer.
google avatar

Sonali S.

Yelp
Still love this place! Curry hot pot is vegetarian along with the tomato and melon broth. The sauce bar is great. Place is spotless and clean. Fast service. Kids love the koi pond and the house style tofu with vegetables.
google avatar

George R.

Yelp
We had a late lunch of Hot Pot which was excellent. We have had had hot pot in Atlanta and San Francisco and this is up to that standard. Great sauce bar. We had the spicy broth and the bone broth both of which are excellent. Great service and a family atmosphere. We will definitely be back....
google avatar

Jasmine A.

Yelp
The inside of this restaurant is museum quality. It is beautiful, We ordered the hot pot and were overwhelmed with the choices. The herb broth was not as I expected but the spicy broth was delicious. We had the chicken and beef options. I just expected a little more flavor all around. Maybe some seasoning options to sprinkle on top rather than just soy sauce. Service was ok. Our server forgot our rice but another server got it. We were not waited on for quite some time before we got the attention of another server. The place was not busy. I can't speak on authenticity but it was a wonderful experience to try things I can't pronounce and had to look up. I would go again to try their other menu options.
google avatar

Vivian Z.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants! One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've had in Nashville! Recommend the salt and pepper squid and the hot pot!
google avatar

Christine E.

Yelp
EXCELLENT hot pot! For appetizers we had the steamed pork buns and crab Rangoon. We did the 50/50 combination of herb and spicy broth with the lamb combination and added shrimp and clams. The broths were rich and complex with a lovely level of spice. The appetizers along with lamb platter were very filling. The service was also excellent. Don't forget to check out the wall of sauces just behind the terra-cotta statues.
google avatar

Kris E.

Yelp
Excellent experience. I think I ordered the lamb combo with the curry broth plus a side of lobster balls and it was such a huge portion I couldn't eat it alone. The server gave me boxes and even a bowl to take my broth and leftover food home. They also had an excellent choice of sauces and toppings to go with everything. The service was quick and polite but they didn't hover which I appreciated. I will definitely bring friends next time I go.
google avatar

Nelson B.

Yelp
Felt like we were dining in China. Great food, not Americanized Chinese food. Try the hot pot options.
google avatar

Clay G.

Yelp
I can't rate anything but the stir fry. This is my go to take out place. Never actually eaten there. But the quality of the stir fry dishes is definitely a step above any of the other chinese food I've had in Nashville. It's really good and I always enjoy eating it.
google avatar

Mylene L.

Yelp
We were asked if we wanted hot pot or regular table. We told them we've never been here before. The staff pointed to the difference on the table, with us cooking our food with hot pot. We decided not to have the hot pot. My daughter really liked the pork bun. As for the chicken wings, it was pretty salty. The pan-fried dumplings are not anything special taste-wise. I was really looking forward to the duck. But the meat was a little tough & salty. Overall, the food was not satisfying.
google avatar

Shay T.

Yelp
It was our first time trying this place and the atmosphere is amazing , like nothing I've seen before in Nashville. Food was very good and fresh.. service was absolutely wonderful. The only thing is, it is very warm inside.

Yelp
My original plan was to get a late lunch at Han's after seeing a matinee flick. I got to Han's and noticed the sign that indicated that staff were on vacation. I got there on the business's last day of vacation. Bummer! I needed lunch. I did a quick look at the businesses in this plaza. A few doors down was Sichuan Hot Pot & Asian Cuisine. It was a hot day, but I had all the time in the world to sit down and enjoy lunch. I headed over to this eatery. There is lots of parking in this plaza. I had parked closer to Han's, but the walk over wasn't bad, even on a humid, hot day. It's gorgeous inside. It has statues, a bridge, smaller rooms for private functions, and a bar with pretty lighting. I had a woman immediately say hi to me. She seated me at a table and asked if I was doing hot pot today. I had no idea, as I needed to look at the menu. She nodded. I ordered a Diet Coke. I got a small dish of peanuts to start as I continued looking at the menu. I love peanuts. They were yummy. I couldn't tell you when I last had hot pot at a Chinese restaurant. I decided to go for it. The best bang for your buck is to go with a hot pot combo. You select your protein with your various ingredients and your choice of broth is free. I got beef with herb broth. I wasn't sure how much food came with this combo. I ordered fried tofu and bean sprouts as extras. The list of extras is impressive. My server said that I could head to the sauce bar. What? There's a sauce bar! She was great by showing me where it was. It was the most extensive sauce bar with so many ingredients lined up. If you needed help, you got sauce recipes and suggestions posted on the wall. I stuck with this recipe that I put together on my own: - Green onions - Minced garlic - Fish sauce - Sesame oil I liked my first stab at it, but adjusted my recipe by adding even more green onions and garlic the second time. I'm sure no one wanted to be near me after I was done eating. I had forgotten that I was in the States. You get a lot of food to dunk in your hot pot. I had beef, veggies, a fish ball, fish stick, fried egg, corn, and taro. I technically could have done without the fried tofu as an extra, but was happy that I got bean sprouts. I downed everything! It was easy adjusting the hot pot temperature. The herb broth was excellent. A man came by to add more hot water. The food was fresh. The beef was yummy. I loved everything that I ate. The dipping sauce made everything so good. I paid at the table. I used a credit card. All went well. I also got a fortune cookie. I spent probably a good two hours here. It was the best spontaneous plan B for a late lunch. I let my cell phone charge with my battery pack during my entire meal. Before I left, I used the washroom, which is at the back of the restaurant. It was decent. This restaurant is huge. I walked over to the bar to check it out before I looked at the statues and left. I loved eating here. I'd return in a heartbeat for more. It was relaxing and yummy. The bonus was getting a mini facial as I ate. (337)

Yelp
All the food tastes good, but the waiters don't seem to want to work or maybe they're tired from working all day.

Yelp
Ordered an Uber eats order and over all didn't love the food. My favorite thing we ordered was the general so chicken and fried rice. Portions are very large!

Yelp
I'm always on the hunt for authentic Chinese food in Nashville and this place checks the box! I loved my time here and can't stop raving about it to others. The Vibe- The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside with statues and mood lighting. I would say it's elegant casual. You can walk in here with a t-shirt or a nice dress, it's up to you. The restaurant is part of a strip mall so there's a huge parking lot located right outside of the restaurant. They have tons of seating for larger parties and even a private room! The staff take cleanliness very seriously, the service is efficient, and the waiters are more than willing to talk through the extensive menu and point out items that do not meet dietary restrictions (ex. I don't eat beef and they happily explained that none of the broths contain beef). Main: Hot Pot Pork Combination-I decided to do hot pot for the night. You can choose a la carte or do a combination that comes with a broth of your choice. I suggest doing a combination then adding extras through the a la carte option for the best value. The pork combination came with sliced pork, mushrooms, spinach, fish balls, an egg, fried tofu, napa cabbage, and glass noodles. I went with the tube bone broth. The broth was flavorful and savory. They have a self-serve sauce bar on the side so each person can change the hot pot to their taste. One combination was enough for two people to split and go home full! As a surprise, the waitress even brought over a cut orange with the bill, which cut the flavor of the heavy hot pot with a bit of sweetness. This was such a nice touch. I loved the experience of hot pot from picking out my own sauce to cooking each item myself to devouring the delicious meal meal. I highly recommend Sichuan Hot Pot and Asian Cuisine!

Yelp
Went here for lunch, first time, service was good, friendly and helpful, food was good! I have eaten hot pot in China, and this is pretty close. Will go back again!
google avatar

Yelp
When I'm really craving Chinese food, there aren't that many good options in Nashville. Sichuan hot pot is one of my go-to places. They have a variety of Chinese dishes from noodles to stir fry veggies. My favorite dishes would have to be the beef mei fen which are the thinner rice noodles. Also their Mongolian beef is always super tender. Prices are a bit steep for some dishes but I will say the mei fen is worth it because you get enough servings that you will likely be taking some to go. I haven't tried their hot pot as I'm more of an AYCE hot pot person but I have seen lots of people enjoy that option here as well.

Yelp
Not too $$$, and the food is so good :) the place was cute. Be careful in ordering extra stuff because my friend send $80 for picking extra stuff.

Helen W.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurant! I recommend everyone to get the spicy broth and get one of the combos, it's a great deal! It comes with veggies, meat, noodles, and you guys can also get the servers to make sauce for me! Vivian is the best!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is delicious. The service was fast and good. And love the ambiance of the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to plenty of hotpots throughout the country. Usually they're flat rates for the hotpot's then you get all the ingredients you want at no extra charge. This was the first one I've been to where you have to order each item you want to include in your hotpot and they charge individual items. It seemed much more overpriced to me than the usual ones I've been to before. Quality was also okay. For the amount of money you are paying, the portions are quite small but you're still encouraged to share with others because it is so expensive.
google avatar

Bryan H.

Yelp
Yummy every time....so much to choose from

Ashley R.

Yelp
I had my order delivered. I ordered the seafood ho fun because I was really craving noodles. The flavors were there and I think the food was fresh but... I'm not sure what happened with the noodles. Either they were so soggy they fell apart during plating or they were chopped up with the meat and vegetables. I only had a couple of noodles that I could see that were longer than an inch which I was not expecting. I know this place is more geared towards hot pot and dim sum, so I'll update my review when I try their specialties next time.

Victoria F.

Yelp
I loooove the hot pot! I get the spicy broth and combination plate with Chicken protein. My hubby gets the general TSO Chicken. Both amazing dishes. Service is also great! Nice quiet restaurant and not noisy at all.

Jia C.

Yelp
Absolutely love the host there, she is so friendly and sweet. Had an amazing conversation with her. Made my day.

Christopher S.

Yelp
Food was not very good. There was also a hair in our food and the manager refused to comp the meal. She gave a minor discount but the bill was still over $90 for only 3 people.
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
Came here with some friends to celebrate a graduating Ravenwood High student. We reserved a private room and thought we were back in China at some of the popular local Hot Pot chains! Fresh ingredients always make the best hot pot, even better when you're able to experiment and create your own special dipping sauce! Service was also great, always attending our whims at every button pressed! Love it!
google avatar

Shea T.

Yelp
This place was quiet at dinner on a weekend day. I really like the ambiance and I really want to go back to book the karaoke room!!! There were tons of items to choose from with vegan/vegetarian options. My group was there for a first time hot pot experience. The portions were hefty and the process was not difficult to figure out. The staff were quick, but we would have liked a little more instruction after explaining we had no experience. If you've never been, you'll be preparing your own food at your private table. This place is perfect for groups, dates, and any celebration.
google avatar

Citlali C.

Yelp
We were craving some takeout Chinese food and this is the one we liked from the reviews. And I'm telling you it's super good especially their lo mein, would definitely go back for that. We were took sure about the sizes and how it'll work so we called in to make the order, the lady that answered was super friendly and helpful. She answered all the questions we had, which helped so much! It was a 25 minute wait which it wasn't bad when we walked in it was so pretty and smelled amazing will go back to eat in there! When we got our bag it was all closed up with staples and was heavy! Our total was $33 roughly. Would definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Adrian C.

Yelp
This my very sad review. It used to my go to authentic Chinese Food restaurant. Unfortunately we visited last week, so so so disappointed. Everything is pre - packaged food, even garlic ( the most important ingredient in Chinese cuisine). I think they either changed owner or chef.
google avatar

Yelp
I cover three a large territory for work, Indiana / Kentucky / Tennessee, always looking, but this without a doubt Best Sichuan in those three state's.

Shay L.

Yelp
It was fabulous!! Such a fun evening cooking our own Hot pot full of meat or seafood whatever you pick. Low wine prices too! Amazing sauce bar. Good value for $20 pp. cool atmosphere, easy to hear and talk, fun authentic oriental gazebo in the middle for super Hot pot!
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
I am obsessed with hot pot and this place did not disapoint! Me and my boyfriend were visiting from out of town and had a great experience. Will def be back next time I'm in town. Try the "hot pot sauce" at the sauce bar it was my favorite.

Magdalena E.

Yelp
Flavorless, service was terrible! Food was pricey! Definitely a hit or miss with the plates
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
This was an experience. I love the options for the food and you end up ordering more than you think you need. They do refill the broth to make sure you have enough for all your food. Quick service!

Matt A.

Yelp
Terrible food. It didn't even taste like the chicken I ordered, but some other unknown kind of meat. Even the hot tea was bad.
google avatar

Jay W.

Yelp
This place is a great spot when you want authentic hot pot. The price to include the dim sum i didn't post was a total of 79 dollars. Also had a beer as well. This place has an awesome decoration and the hotpot booth makes you feel like VIP. Amazing broth. The duck broth and spicy broth is on point. I had to take leftover broth to make my own noodles at home because that's how good it was
google avatar

Quin B.

Yelp
This was my 1st time having a hot pot. Basically you pick type of broth you want and the food that you want to eat. The menu has a dizzying amount of selections of meat a vegetables to choose from. You can build your own pot or pick a combination platter. The pot of broth is brought to the table and placed on a heater. You can control the temperature of the broth at the table from a simmer to a roaring boil. The food is brought to the table raw along with noodles, so you place them in the broth to cook for a few minutes. What you place in the broth will enrich it even more. I had the sea food pot with curry broth. The broth was rich in flavor and spicy. I ate everything and was so stuffed. You get plenty of food for the price. This place is great for large parties due to the spacious interior and large amount of food served. Fyi, there are other things on the menu besides hot pots and the service was not great. This was a fun new different experience for me.

Yelp
This was such a cool experience! Note - I've never been to a "legit" hot pot place in a prominent Asian community before like on the west coast so I don't know how this would compare to those. However, I'm a big fan of hot pot & this place was impressive in many aspects. The first thing I noticed was how clean the place was! I wish most Chinese restaurants were half as clean as this place. Secondly, the price for hot pot for 3 people was super fair - about $40 was enough for us to stuff ourselves. Thirdly, the menu is super extensive & the food was super fresh & high quality in my opinion. The only thing I'm critical of is that ordering the hot pot is kinda confusing as there aren't really any instructions on how to do so, just lots of pictures. Every person gets their own type of "broth," & I ended up getting the spicy broth which was incredible. They kept refilling the broth for you so if you wanted to just drink it straight up (like me), you could! Ha! We ordered 2 "combo plates" with one being a beef plate & the other a seafood plate. Both plates come with an assortment of meat, vegetables, & noodles. There's a sauce wall in the back that they recommended to accompany our meal. There were instructions on how to make different sauces to go with your food which was neat. Overall, I definitely recommend checking this place out & I'd come back for sure.

Yelp
Great flavors, but be wary there's so much delicious things to try and they give you lots and lots of it. Go with friends and pig out, but all alone you will be crawling out, you'll be so stuffed
