They serve all the hits from the original location in Alhambra, including the tender tea-smoked pork ribs and boiled fish filet with rattan pepper (the version with pickled vegetables is a strong contender for those who prefer less spice). We love taking friends here who rarely venture east of Sepulvera here to blow their minds, plus the large space is a great Westside option for gathering a big group for a feast. "Sichuan Impression is one of the best restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley, so when they opened a new location on the southern edge of Westwood in 2018, our excitement was palpable. Update: It’s even better than the original in Alhambra. The menu is full of fragrant, intensely-flavored dishes that stay on your lips for days (the tea-rubbed ribs and mapo tofu are must-orders) and the sprawling, second-story dining room is perfect for large groups of friends. The SGV classic recently opened up a third location in West LA with food that’s just as good (and spicy) as the original in Alhambra. Our favorites are the tea-smoked ribs, the mapo tofu, and the lamb on toothpicks, and since the space is huge and ideal for all of your friends to join, we advise you to order all of those dishes.
