"Silver Spoon claims to be the first zabiha halal restaurant in DFW — it is certainly the longest-running Pakistani restaurant in the Metroplex. Try the chicken chapli kabab or a plate of Lahori fish." - Courtney E. Smith, Didi Paterno

Google
Omg it's the best curry restaurant in the DFW metroplex. I went in during lunch time. It is only $8.99 + tax for butter chicken with a choice of Naan or Rice. The portion was huge, and chicken tikka masala was super creamy and flavorful!!!! We also ordered chicken Biryani, it came with lots of bone-in chicken. The owner and server were also very friendly :) i will def come back

Aaishah Uddin

Google
Literally awesome and totally recommend the Nehari and for the vegetarians out there I recommend the veggie combo, The food came really fast and fresh. Will come back for more! ❤️

Bibi Jaan

Google
Tried this place back after awhile. The food was good portions for lunch special and let us sit when time was close to ending. Still enjoyed the food but I feel the freshness isn’t like before.

Hasen Akhtar

Google
Absolutely horrible food!! Just ordered Chicken Tandoori and Biryani. I don't know where they buy their chicken from but the chicken leg looks like that of a horse! The size isn't normal (too many steroids probably). The taste is horrible, the biryani is completely devoid of any taste. and the chicken leg looks like it's painted Pink. Ended up throwing the food out. What a waste of hard earned money.

Tootee Tou

Google
Aaloo Parantha with High Tea (2 chai) is plenty of tea to satisfy your taste buds. Chicken combo is great too.

Zahra Khan

Google
Chicken biryani and crispy samosas Food is so good and tasty. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. The veggie samosas were very crispy and has mixed veggies. The service was very good and friendly.

Sujeet Kumar Singh

Google
We ordered chicken 65, kadhai paneer, chicken Nihari and naan, I haven’t had food like this in my whole life the food was uncooked even the gravy was not cooked and the paneer 65 (starter) was looking that a gravy and the taste was like saur and taste less, I won’t recommend this place at all,Guys don’t waste your money by coming here its totally waste of money and even you’ll spoil your mood

Aysar Awad

Google
Honestly best fish biryani I have ever had. The fish was fresh and seasoned to the right amount! The rice was also great texture and almost made me wanna order seconds and thirds. The Nihari was also good as well as the fresh nun bread. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try any different cuisines for Indian, Pakistani, and Bengali! 10/10!!!

Yelp
We've loved our meal each time we've been there, and are looking forward to our next; the owner is very friendly and helpful, made food suggestions to us the first time we went in--and he was right on the money. Great place.

Lisi D.

Yelp
Love this place ..love love love, great food and very hospitable.service is grand, love the owners.Nice quiet environment.

Yelp
I ordered the tikka masala spicy. I think it was pretty good but not spicy enough, there was a little bit too much tomato in my opinion. Portions were generous. Service was excellent and the man in the front was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was a little cozy but everyone is friendly.

A. Laura M.

Yelp
Delicious ordered the butter chicken with rice and Naan. Everything was on point, plenty of food and freshly made. Staff was friendly and very welcoming. My first time here will be back. I stumbled on this place while getting my oil changed across the street.

Yelp
Silver Spoon has incredible food, this is my go to spot in Allen for great Indian Food. The place is located in a small strip mall on McDermott, and you barely notice the place unless you're looking for it. When you walk in, you first face the register. You can order at the register, or take a menu to your table and peruse for a bit. The place is not fancy, you're not going to have a 5 star server handing your food on a silver platter, but what you will have is great food made to order and probably leftovers when you're done. I order the Chicken Tikka Masala typically, then I add a side of of Daal just to because its so flavorful. I've ordered both in house and to-go, and both are equally wonderful. You are not rushed as you enjoy your meal in the quiet restaurant atmosphere, and the calm music in the background is great as you enjoy your meal. I will continue to dine here, it's a great place to have in Allen, and I'm happy to patronize this establishment.

Yelp
My first time going here. let me say customer service is excellent, very clean and friendly environment. Now let me move to the food I had the butter chicken and rice and my dad had the fish let me say 10/10 I will be returning

Sakib M.

Yelp
It was great Amazing ambiance great service and price in very friendly and fast service

Birdie M.

Yelp
This place was fantastic before the pandemic, lately, it's a hit or a miss. More misses than hits. Ownership is super nice people. The restaurant needs to expand a bit to see more and furniture needs to change. Food is not 5 or 4 star but it is still very decent. Yes, hands down a decent representation of Pakistani food, not authentic but decent and affordable. I would love to see it updated with a bigger place more seating and a bathroom not facing the dining room. There is a lot of skimping of utensils and that should change too. It is our go-to place when all else fails.

Brishana E.

Yelp
The food here is always fresh and so very good. I always get butter chicken, rice and naan. The customer service is great and they are pretty quick with orders. My favorite Indian spot in the area. I crave this place.

EmpressLisi B.

Yelp
Halal and great taste ...awesome service. Worth the drive Make me miss home Highly recommend Today my husband came with me,he's favorite is the fish Yummmmmmmmm

Sara H.

Yelp
First time customer and left underwhelmed unfortunately. It is a small family owned restaurant it looks like. Everyone was friendly, no issues with the service. We ordered beef and veggie samosas, butter chicken, white rice, naan, and garlic naan. The rice and naans were the best part of our meals. Unfortunately both samosas were not good. The veggie was stuffed with peas and carrots, no flavor. Typically it has potato as well with spices but not here. The beef samosas were also lacking flavor (they are small also). The chutnees were also not great, the white one didn't really taste like anything which was very disappointing. The chicken tikka masala (butter chicken) was tomato based with no cream and we only counted 7 pieces of chicken. Overall disappointed with our meal here, we spent over $30 and still hungry.

Dave G.

Yelp
My fav Tikka Masala in DFW. There's one other place I love but it doesn't have the same local vibe that Silver Spoon does. When you're here you feel like you've found a well-kept secret. Everything here is great. You can't miss. The owners/staff are always so kind. Service is friendly and prompt and if you have any questions they'll patiently answer them all to make sure you get what you're looking for. It's been a while since I've dined in here, I typically pick it up otw home. So I'll have to go back soon and get some good pics of the food. It worth the drive though! Even if it doesn't end up being your fav you won't regret the trip.

Prasath S.

Yelp
How have I not been here in the 3 years I've lived in the area???? This place is absolutely incredible. Family owned for 30+ years and you can tell they are doing things the right way here. We started off with the beef samosas and then moved on to some classic Pakistani dishes such as the Goat Karahi & Beef Nihari. We also tried the chicken combo which comes with includes a good amount of their fragrant chicken biryani, a piece of tandoori chicken, chicken korma, naan and a dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Quantities are just the right size (some may complain it's too small ugh! stop). You also have to love that they have a "pay it forward" board. Do a good deed while you have a great meal. What's not to love???

M S.

Yelp
Delicious food! We've only ever ordered take out rather than dine it but it's always so good! If you're worried about spice level, I do a medium spice and it's not really spicy at all, just flavorful and I'm a wuss with spice.

Yusif C.

Yelp
Great prices, delicious food, super friendly and fast service. Somehow, even their white rice is amazing. I loved the butter chicken and goat biryani. The service is very friendly. They even brought my order out to my car.

Molly M.

Yelp
Do not go here. I've been here before and it was just okay, overpriced but decent quality for this area, but tonight we ordered from there because two other Indian places we prefer didn't answer the phone. The guy who took my order gave us the wrong order, and gave us vegetables instead of rice, and while I love vegetables I would have liked the rice I paid for. Then he proceeded to argue with me and tell me I ordered wrong and I didn't, my husband and kids were sitting there while I ordered the food, after they finlly answered the phone, and when I pointed out the mistake he laughed at me on the phone, so bottom line, I'll stick with Coconut Hill as long as they stay open, Silver Spoon is terrible. EDIT: the guy on the phone who laughed at me gave my husband free rice and $10 in cash and apologized. I am still never, ever going back there, though, and you shouldn't either.

Demi A.

Yelp
I placed an order to go online for the Goat Special 1/2 Goat Biryani 1/2 Goat Qorma, Tandoori Chicken Leg and a Qtr Flan, and 1 Full Naan which I upgraded to garlic. If you put in the description of your vehicle they will bring your order out to your car. I really had high hopes for this restaurant however the flavors just didn't hit the mark for me, coming from the Bay Area I have had my fair share of Indian food. The dishes were good don't get me wrong but didn't have my taste buds singing at all. I may give them another try, and sample something different.

Irfan R.

Yelp
Happily pleased with the food, attentive service and care. Would recommend giving it a try.

Mav A.

Yelp
The flavor was there but not the freshness. The kabobs were dry, maybe even old. I ordered on a Saturday.

Shirley R.

Yelp
Authentic! I've gone to India once, and this location brings back memories of my time there. Both the chicken combination and the chicken tikka masala are outstanding. Both the shawarma and the biryani will astound you. Oh my, I highly suggest trying their various delicacies! I keep returning here and have already made numerous attempts! Fortunately, Thy never lets you down. I tried the takeout and delivery options offered by this establishment. There are several serious drawbacks to meal delivery, such as the fact that it will arrive cold even though you can reheat it, and that occasionally the food will be spoiled. Well, this is a typical delivery issue. I recommend dining there so that you can really experience the atmosphere, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the service!

Maria C.

Yelp
100/10 !! Absolutely the best Indian Cuisine Ive had in a long time! great customer service even better food!

Ajay S.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Seemed different each time. What I can say is the chicken tikka was very soupy which was average at best.

paul l.

Yelp
Awesome food. We got the goat biryani and fish kehari and a vegetarian dish. Normally don't like getting vegetarian dishes but we got the palak paneer and it was great.

Max V.

Yelp
We absolutely love Indian food and like to try new restaurants regularly. We intended on visiting our go to, Spice Creations, across the street but they're closed on Mondays. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Massala, Vindaloo, a veggie dish, rice and Naan. The Naan was great, the highlight of the meal. From there it went downward. The Massala tasted like straight tomato sauce with a little heat. It was the absolute worst Tikka I've ever had. The Vindaloo was pretty good but a bit salty. I asked for it spicy and they did well in this regard. The veggie dish (sorry I can't recall name) was bland and soupy. I am a carnivore at heart but love Indian veggie plates. This really missed the mark. The rice was really wet and didn't have the aromatics I typically get with white rice; clove, cinnamon, cardamom, etc. Total bill was $47 and I left feeling like I just paid for one of the worst Indian meals I've ever had. It just felt... like I was eating a very American version of Indian food. I really don't like to to be so harsh on local businesses but i just can't recommend this place to anyone.

Do J.

Yelp
I ordered a tikka masala but received chicken with tomato sauce. There is absolutely no spice added to this dish to make it a tikka. Based on my photo, you can see how the sauce is not creamy whatsoever and looks almost like tomato sauce from a can. I have never tasted any Indian food so bad before. Don't waste your money here. Cutting corners is not going to help your business. I feel like even frozen Trader Joe's tikka is better quality, I would recommend getting that instead.

Elaine M.

Yelp
Wow, I was really excited to try this place as I had a hankering for Indian food! I have to say this is my new favorite local restaurant. A bit off the beaten path but well worth the trip. I have a feeling we will be regulars here... First off, ordering our food was super simple. If you're not sure what you want but have an idea, the owner will help you! I love that we can choose if we want rice or naan with our dishes. Both were perfect (esp if you can't quite take the heat!) We wanted maybe 10 minutes for the food to come out but when it arrives... the aroma and presentation!!!! We dove into the food. It was flavorful, in many levels and you get full pretty quickly. You know you need to stop eating but you almost can't?! We ordered the vegetable palak(?), Chick pea dish, Daal Fry or lentil dish. It was plenty for the four of us. We'll have to come back next time and try the lamb or chicken dishes.

Maria B.

Yelp
I like the the people who works in this places very friendly the food is very good we visiting from Indianapolis we recommend it.

Samia N.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a halal option in Allen TX and came across Silver Spoon restaurant. It had decent reviews and seemed highly rated, and frankly it was the only zabiha halal restaurant within miles of Allen so we decided to try it. The restaurant is small and cozy but the ambiance is great. They had an excellent instrumental playlist going which really set the mood of the restaurant. The restaurant is family owned and i could see the family members running the cash register and in/out of the kitchen and they all were super friendly and hospitable, asking us if we needed anything etc. The food is OK - I wasn't a huge fan of the BBQ, but the Fish biryani was unique and interesting, the bihari boti was pretty good and the garlic naan was fresh hot and delicious. Everything lacked a little spice , but I'm unsurprised cause there are quite a few non-Indians/Pakistani's who also seem to eat at Silver Spoon and I'm sure not everyone has a strong spice tolerance. Overall the owners are very friendly and this establishment is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a halal restaurant or establishment in Allen, TX!

Yelp
I looked up Yelp to find this little hidden gem to me, cause I don't know where stuff is these days. The customer service in this place is AHHHMAZING. The son was great. Great voice great customer service. Was a really great experience overall. Not the best but up there close to it. Would I return ohhhh yassss!! I will!! Thank you! :)

Jilla S.

Yelp
The best Pakistani food in town! Every single dish is delicious :) I highly recommend this place!

Virginia S.

Yelp
First time here and I was impressed. The food was awesome . I will be back very soon. Very comfortable setting. Service was great

Zak S.

Yelp
Great Pakistani and Indian food. We went there for lunch on the day we were leaving back for Minneapolis. We ordered the Nihari. Excellent. We also ordered Kababs and parathas for the flight back. If in Plano I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Krystal T.

Yelp
I had given up on finding a delicious Indian/Pakistani restaurant when I left Taiwan. The sheer nerve of me to have stopped looking! DFW is coming up and into the spotlight with this hidden gem. My friend invited me to check out this place just on a whim. We did and now we LOVE it! I had the chicken tikka masala with rice and naan. It was everything that I was expecting my tastebuds to enjoy! Shall we press on... Customer service was spot on! Everyone that follows me on all my food reviews KNOWS how much customer service is to me! The gentleman that reminds me of Common the rapper, was beyond helpful, and kind. He was neatly dressed as well. (Whispers-I need that outfit)The owner was SUPER nice and inviting. They didn't mind me asking for a photo. The restaurant was cute and small. Nicely decorated and just the right lighting. Oh, before I forget. You also get a 10% discount when you check in!!! Use it! Whenever you can save a coin or two. DO IT! The ONLY negative I have about the restaurant is the chairs. That have an awful screech when you scoot forward to the table. If there are some rubber caps to fix that terrible sound... that'd be excellent! It's like scratches on a chalkboard.

Taskina C.

Yelp
We have been enjoying Silver Spoon for the past 30 some years by the 4 generations of my family. It was my first go to place whenever I visit Dallas. The location has changed but the food remains consistent and delicious!

Karen D.

Yelp
We love this restaurant! The food is fresh and tasty! Tonight we had the fried trout, the grilled platter and the Gobi 65! No complaints and loved every bite! The naan was buttery and garlicky, a decadent pleasure. We always love the food here and would recommend it and be sure to try the fried trout! Best in the Dallas area!

Karla G.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer. The sauces were just not of the quality I expected from this place. I looked at reviews before ordering. The chicken tasted like it was frozen and then boiled not grilled like it should be. So it was very tough. The cheese was hard , rubbery and tasteless. The saag was very oily, I was hoping for green and creamy. I'm very disappointed with both these dishes. The naan and garlic naan and rice were all excellent. They are very nice and it was hot and ready when I was there to pick my food up. But I will not be returning.

Adrianne C.

Yelp
First time eating here. Ordered takeout. Naan is on point - chicken tikka is just okay (I'd like to try it again) the chicken itself was dry and somewhat difficult to get down the pipe. Overall flavor was good. Large portion of rice - smaller portion of protein (could have been more in my opinion). I'll try again later on to test the quality of the chicken and post an update on that.

Guy H.

Yelp
This little place is spotless, the prices reasonable and the owner accommodating. I haven't been here in 2 years and puzzled as to why. The food is prepared well, delicious and packed to go appropriately. If you like Thai food stop in.

Codi B.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here. Finally made it for lunch. My friend and I ordered a little bit of everything! The food was delicious! So fresh and steaming hot! My least favorite was the corn soup, it wasn't bad... just wasn't for me. The best was the trout, I literally could eat that until I'm sick! Hahaha! The nice hint of spice in the seasoning with the lemon drizzled on top just brought all those flavors together. You can never go wrong with the tikka masala and the veggie samosas were pretty tasty! The beef dish was amazing full of lots of flavor. Definitely left satisfied and full!

David F.

Yelp
Great little mom and pop restaurant. I will be back. They are very nice people and their food is very good

Mitch P.

Yelp
I have not been here in quite some time due to my proximity; unfortunately, I moved pretty far away. This place is family owned, and there is not a single thing that I have tried that I didn't absolutely loved. Their samosas are amazing, I can't get enough of the paratha, and the fish is exquisite. The gyro and shawarma are usually my go-to, but I love trying new things here. If you're lucky enough to be close by, give it a shot! You won't be disappointed...

K S.

Yelp
The food is made to order including Mango Lassi. Simply simply delicious. The Lahori fish with Garlic naan, vegetarian combo, and the grilled boneless trout are so delicious. It just took a short amount of time to finish the dishes because it is so good (forgot to even chat over lunch). It's really by far the best Indian food experience. The owner is such a nice person so are the ladies working there. Although this is the first time trying Silver Spoon, wishing we could've known Silver Spoon sooner. What a great find for authentic Indian food. Thank you Silver Spoon.

Kawana B.

Yelp
Ok so let me tell you about the goodness of this ruby in the rough. My first time trying them out. I did some research first on what Nihari with choice of meat was. Based on the flavor profile and the passion that goes into it I was down to try it. Plus I am somewhat of a chef and I know what good ingredients look like. The kind gentleman on the phone was friendly and he also helped me make my decision. Ooooommmmmmmggggg!!! When I picked up my order to go I could already smell the intoxicating aroma coming from my bag. I got Nihari chicken, basmati rice, paratha and vegetable samosas. First the Nihari chicken it was so good. I loved the cilantro, fresh ginger and lime mix that you add into it. The added ingredients really made it pop. The chicken was so tender it melted in my mouth. The rice was not just boring rice. It was seasoned and had cilantro in it. This was another sign of the passion in the meal. The chef probably also added a little lime. The paratha was so buttery and flakey and good. I ate and dipped with my hands using the paratha. The vegetable samosa... now these are above all the ones I have ever tasted. They are spot on with flavor. They are crunchy and you can identify every vegetable... the peas, the carrots I mean it was soo tasty. Once I took my first bite I had to call up to the spoon just to tell them personally how good the food is. Man oh man..... that food touched my soul. I can't wait to try more of it. This is my spot. Please go try it, you will thank me later and your tummy will be so pleased. Support small business.

Leena M.

Yelp
First time experience was fabulous. Very cozy and homely environment by a family owned business. We got the Nihari, small grill platter and laohir fish (which I added at the end after I overheard them say it's their special on the phone to another customer) The fish? Oh Em Gee! Yummm! So good. I could keep going but let's stop. The grill platter was great, nihari not to spicy yet flavorful. There was some salad with the BBQ & fish. Now what I really liked was the fish and mixed grill came with the naan. Fish had an optional rice side if not naan, but it was included. Most restaurants don't do that. The naan also was freshly made and buttered. Lastly we had some tea, also I was very impressed that the tea came in a little teapot. We ordered two cups and I would say you could have 3. It was cardamom flavored and gosh I have yet to have such a hot bubbling tea at any restaurant! I'm def going back.

Megan N.

Yelp
Our favorite Pakistani food in the DFW area. Service is great. We generally do to-go orders and it is always on time, well packaged, and hot.

Tim W.

Yelp
I had to jump off 75 due to major traffic and Yelp guided me to nirvana. We ordered the family feast with the help of the amazing guy who has his pic on the wall so clearly runs the show. He said it might be too much food but I made a bet that the Yelp reviews made me want to order enough for left overs. I was right! I've gone to about 12 different Indian places in North Dallas and this is THE place to go. Every plate was better than the rest and better than the competition. The paneer was the best ever (so light and fluffy and crispy). The masala had more flavor. The naan was perfect. The seehk kababs (?) we're spiced so well I wish I had ordered more. The samosas had a very light wrapper, more like a lumpia than an egg roll and we're the best I've ever had (beef). And the biryani was stupid epic. I live a drive away but I will absolutely find excuses to run here. Oh, and the service was awesome. Such nice people!

Jill B.

Yelp
My son said it's the best Indian food he's ever had! He loves the samosas and chicken tikka masala. We've passed this place many times and glad we finally decided to stop here.

David F.

Yelp
OMG! The food here is amazing! Very flavorful! I ordered the Goat combo and the Goat curry... this place hits the nail on the head. Being a restaurant owner I understand that bad reviews are usually real but when the experience, flavor and portion size don't match the personal experience, I'm calling their bluff! This good is amazing if your looking for flavorful Indian Cuisine. Will be back!

Syed A.

Yelp
We ordered: Seekh Kabab Chicken Tikka Masala Chicken Boti Kabab Poori Parathas Naans came with the entrees listed above and were fresh.Seekh Kababs we're flavorful, juicy and most importantly, not dry at all (I don't know why other restaurants can't get their seekh kababs right). Kids and wife loved Chicken Tikka Masala. Chicken Boti Kababs, too, were delicious. Customer service alone makes me want to go back to this restaurant. They young guy greeted us with a big genuine smile and warmth - that's something you usually do not like experience at most Pakistani and Indian restaurants. Overall, we loved this restaurant and will visit it again.
