This Deep South Strip room is in the South Point Casino and it is well worth the visit! Went recently with family. Room is bright, with big chairs and equally large booths. Think classics such as Golden Steer or The Steakhouse at CircusCircus with deep dark reds. The setting is quite nice, a reprieve from the casino floor. Music is turn pleasant as is the service, which includes table side presentations of salads.
My in-laws had shrimp cocktail, which were nice in's use and were delicious. What I found exciting was the menu. It has your traditional steaks, but some more adventurous entrees, such as a skirt steak with chimichurri and what they call Tartlet Parisian or ratatouille in a puff pastry. I was tempted to try this as ratatouille is one of my all time favorite dishes, however the meat is the main event here.
Do not fill up on the bread, especially the walnut raisin, served warm with cold salted butter that melts into the bread. Steaks are all prime, many hand cut, something not done too frequently anymore, which is nice. All entrees and steaks come with salad and baked/mashed potato. Veggies and Mac n cheese are al a carte. Service was prompt by an experienced staff that knows exactly what the expectation is of the guests.
Salads are tossed tableside as well baked potatoes are cut table side(they are huge)! This is a nice touch that is seeing a renaissance in Vegas as a whole, which is a treat for guests.
When dinner arrived, we were not disappointed! Steaks served with a nice crust and finished on the grill, perfectly charbroiled and little bit of salted butter, what else is needed? My wife had prime rib, which turned out to be a top 3 prime rib we have ever had in the city, we get it everywhere. We finished dinner late and diddl not get dessert, however they offer t classic cherries jubilee and bananas foster, cheesecake and a few other options, which I'm sure will be wonderful to end dinner.
