Great track, worth seeing. Went to a BTCC weekend in September and had a great time watching the qualifying from the stands. Plenty to see including a museum, lots of parking spaces and toilets, food, store had a lot of merchandise on sale, probably because it was end of the season. Allow a couple of hours to visit the track.

The Silverstone Festival, celebrating 75 years of Formula One where it all began, was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything was very well organized, and the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, which made the day even better. There was so much to see and do, especially on the Friday when we went. It was the perfect choice — not overcrowded like the weekend can be, and the atmosphere was just right. Everywhere you looked there were interesting events taking place, from historic displays to on-track action. One absolute must is the museum — don’t miss it! I highly recommend purchasing the official booklet. It’s packed with useful information and really helps you navigate the festival. I only discovered at the end that the last page unfolds into a map of the whole site, which makes it much easier to see what’s going on. The booklet is a little expensive, but honestly worth it — with it, you won’t miss anything. The festival shop was another highlight, offering a wide range of merchandise, especially clothing, with some good sales. The food was also excellent and reasonably priced — much better than the usual “event food.” Both at the hotel restaurant and from vendors on-site, there were plenty of good options to enjoy, so no need to bring your own. It’s a shame that some of the great legends weren’t part of the event anymore, but it was still a powerful and moving experience. The history, the atmosphere, and the celebration of 75 years of Formula One made it truly special. Overall, the Silverstone Festival was an amazing experience — one that everyone should try at least once. My advice: don’t just stay in one place. Explore, walk around, and take it all in, because there’s so much more than meets the eye.

Love this circuit best place to watch British touring cars and MotoGP. Been here a few times now and the staff are very helpful. The food stalls are good a bit expensive but they have to pay slot in pitch fees for the day. Parking is easy and free which is great for the amount of spectators that turn up. Had a great day at the BTCC open pit garages so you view the cars/mechanics etc, you can sit anywhere in the grandstands.

Great weekend away, really enjoyed it. Recommendations would be to take your own food as it’s a long day, also take walk clothing as you will be sat still outside for a while. Negatives would be lack of signage to locations and open stands, we were walking around for a while to find stands were closed. Also more screens or pole position details from stands, but of a guessing game otherwise.

Came to Silverstone on the Sunday to watch F1 Grand Prix. We bought our tickets in advance which is essential. It was a great event. There was loads of food, shopping, variety of stalls. It is an all day event so can make of it as you please. My biggest concern was the toilets, but they had proper portable toilets so even better. Will definitely come back again and would recommend anyone to come and watch the F1. We had general admission tickets and stood at the Village A section on the corner. If you can afford to pay for a grand stand then I would recommend doing so. Just ensure you are prepared for all weather types

I truly feel like the luckiest person ever! Having the once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn from the very best in motorsport, to witness everything from the inside—the history, the passion, the professionalism—it’s all on another level! Forever grateful to the amazing Silverstone team!

My first time here to see the British F1 Grand Prix. I booked a parking place at West End Paddocks which was £40 for the day and is a 15 minute walk from the circuit. With the standard entry ticket you need to arrive early to get the best viewing spot also bring a fold up chair and wear some walking shoes the place is huge and you do a lot of walking depending where you sit. Be prepared for all weather we experienced heavy rain thunder and sun. I would recommend hanging around after the race for a couple of hours if you have driven to the circuit as the traffic is bad. I had a great time and will definitely be coming back to watch the F1 again and may be upgrade to a grandstand seat if I can afford it.

Great day out at Silverstone 21st Sept. Went to watch the btcc with a mate. We had got an air bnb close by to stay at from Saturday till day of the race. We took our own chairs and a small tent and found the perfect place to watch from which was at the top of the Start / Finish straight see everything from there mainly because there is a super large TV screen as well. So with our own space and able to move around freely instead of in the stands which we did have tickets for so we felt it was more convenient and comfortable to chill out there. Good racing and actually had a lunch / half time show. Which was a fly by with parachute landings also flying the union jack flag 🇬🇧. It was the 1st time we had been there. We did go down to watch them last year but something changed in circumstances so we had to drive back to Manchester instead 😢.

Yelp
Recently went to Silverstone circuit for the British Grand Prix. It was my 1st ever time attending an F1 race. We stayed the whole weekend, staying in the campsite next door. (This review will partly be about the F1 race (and other motorsport) and the different activities/events etc associated with the Formula 1). The food options in Silverstone during the weekend were pretty much as you may expect - burgers, pizzas etc - so it was not the most healthy weekend! Some of the food was actually decent, some not as much. For example, had a burger from one place and it was really tasty -even if it was from a restaurant - never mind a van. But then a burger from another place was not good. One problem with Silverstone, but hard to do much about it, is that its a pretty flight area - so some of the public access places where people stand/sit to watch, you don't get the best view. As well as the F1 race (and the qualifying and practices), you can see the GP2 and GP3 series and also the Porsche Cup. With the F1 cars being a bit quieter nowadays, I didn't need to earplugs I bought. (Although I did need to just when stood in a particular place watching the GP2 qualifying). As well as the motorsport to watch, there is the F1 Village area with the big stage with different music acts on different days and also the Drivers Forum where drivers turn up and see the fans, answer questions, sign autographs etc. Also, the Typhoon Air Display was very impressive. As was the Red Arrow display - although not as good as the Typhoon - also, because of where we were stood (near podium), most of the display of the Red Arrows was behind the main new pit building - so didn't so much of it!

Yelp
Silverstone, the home of Motorsport, the home to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. I have been lucky enough to attend the last 3 British grand Prix at Silverstone and it just gets better every year. The facilities are fantastic, with more and more being added. There are lots of bars, fast food stalls, merchandise stands and entertainment to keep you occupied while the track is empty. The food and drink is reasonably priced for any major sporting event, a pint will cost you roughly £4 and a meal will be around £6. The beauty of Silverstone is that you can bring your own, provided it is not in a glass bottle or container, you are welcome to bring it with you. The of track entertainment side of things has greatly improved over the last couple of years, this year Madness played on the Thursday night and there were other concerts on the Friday and Saturday evening. I love this place, its a petrol heads dream so I will always be slightly bias with my review but if you have any interest in speed, make sure you make at least 1 trip to Silverstone. I've booked for next year already and will be returning in August for the MotoGP

Yelp
My partner and I were given a tour of Silverstone as a Christmas gift purchased from a gift experience company. The tours are so popular that we had to book a few months in advance to be able to get a date to go along. To begin the tour you report to the visitor's centre on the perimeter of the track and wait till everyone has assembled. There's a Costa Coffee outlet with some seating there but that (and the toilet facilities) aren't really adequate for the number of people who are waiting to start their tours. Three minibus-fuls of people set off on the tour together - the driver of each bus is your tour guide. First of all we were driven to the British Racing Drivers Club and given a tour inside. There were some spectacular paintings and art works inside along with some poignant plaques outside devoted to drivers who have been killed. The view from the open roof of the building is spectacular and gave us a great view of an open track day for motorbikes (which our guide called bring it and bin it). After that point, the three buses each take off in different directions so it's a bit easier to see and hear things. We were taken all round the outside of the track, into Race Control (a bank of monitors so that the stewards can see what's going on round the track) and got to stand on the winner's podium (which is much smaller than you'd think). We were all warned against doing the Michael Schumacher leap off the podium though, as someone had tried it a couple of months previously and had broken his ankle! We were lucky in that the guide we had had actually been born in a cottage on the circuit and had worked in motor racing all his life so had some great insights and gossip on what goes on. In fact he had so much to say that our bus was 10 minutes later arriving back at the end of the tour than the other two. Real value for money! We each got a certificate at the end of the tour saying we'd done it and were directed to the shop if we wanted to buy souvenirs, but there wasn't any pressure on us to do so. All in all it was a great insight into the Silverstone circuit, how it started and how it developed. A great couple of hours.

Yelp
Silverstone have done really well to sort themselves out. They now offer a range of experiences which are all well put together. Good facilities for those taking part and spectating, not great, but good. Having gained entry to the circuit (1 car per experience ticket) we were able to roam about and see explore the old pits complex where the Aston Martin owners club were racing. If you visit for a Moto GP or F1 etc then you will be outside the circuit most likely. Facilities here are much better than they used to be. Although I expect they could be better for families. The biggest issue with the venue is that it is not pleasant when the weather is bad. However some of this is out of their control. Would recommend any petrol heads make use of this venue.

Yelp
I had a bad experience here on Sunday at the British GP. I come here all the time, but on Sunday some other rude patrons were being very pushy. I immediately called the manager and complained. He wasn't responsive to my complaint, I believe he was reading an email while I was talking. After I spoke to him for 5 minutes, he didn't kick the other party out. He only offered me a 10 second wait time and a free dessert. Needless to say, I felt very unsafe here and my needs were not attended to appropriately. ONE STAR! Sincerely, Karen Horner

Yelp
When my boyfriend, a big Formula 1 fan, found out that the Mini United 50th Birthday event was going to be held at Silverstone this year, he became emotional. (He has watched so many races at this track on TV that he probably knows every turn in his sleep.) Since we are both Mini enthusiasts and love cars and racing, it only made sense that we attend this special event in May. When we first got there, we couldn't believe how big the space was. We didn't even see the camping areas where there were supposedly thousands of other cars/Minis parked. The areas that we did see were filled to the brink with Minis but it didn't feel overcrowded. The track is beautiful and tricky in some areas. Definitely a good test for the racers. We were so excited to be able to take our car out on a small track for a "performance driving" session. Later on, we had a special parade lap session in corporate Minis that was a lot of fun as well. Very cool perspective from the track outward. Mini was smart in holding the event here because: 1. The Mini is built in Oxford 2. The track is beautiful and it was a great excuse to bring the Mini Challenge races to the UK for the first time. The classic Minis used to race here back in the day. 3. There was enough room to hold all of the cars, people (~25K), vendors and the many Mini displays. 4. Many lawn areas so it felt lush and not like you were getting dusty (as one would at race tracks in California) Other things to note: - everyone who worked at the event was friendly and nice - they kept the grounds very clean - the website is easy to navigate (check it out for other events) Definitely a highlight in our UK vacation.

Yelp
An amazing Grand Prix circuit let down by the surrounding road network and up tight British Health and Safety legislation Blah, Blah, Blah! It would be great if they had more of an Italian mentality and allowed people to walk the track etc after the event instead of hearding them around like cattle through security gates and muddy walkways. However that said I still love it and think everyone should go there at least once, or twice, maybe three times- ah sod it, I'd go every year if I could afford it!

Yelp
I have attended Silverstone for the British grand Prix. Having been to other tracks in the UK I personally wouldn't rate Silverstone as top I think brands hatch has some better corners for racing. However the amenities are fantastic with plenty of toilets food outlets and stalls selling merchandise. The covered stands (if you have grandstand tickets) offer shelter from rain or sun and some of the racing is good. There is however no problem with parking and the new road layouts around the circuit allow trafic to move alot easier to and from events. As of next year the F1 event is moving to Donnington so we shall see how they compare but Silverstone has done an ok job.

Yelp
Silverstone's currently famous as the location of the British Grand Prix for this year and next although it's moving to Donington in 2010. If you can get to an event there, such as the Renault World Series which you can usually get free tickets for, then it's well worth it to experience such a great family day out. It's easy to find, being sign-posted from all surrounding areas when an event is on, but arriving from the A43 is probably the easiest way. Parking is easy, there's plenty of it, it's free and on race days you're guided all the way there. There's a bit of a walk to the trackside from the car parks and for obvious reasons there's a lot of walking to do if you want to see the whole lot. You'll need to be able to walk over the bridge over the track, which is a step bridge. There's plenty of choice for food if you want to buy there but it's not cheap and the queues can be quite long so it's worth taking your own. That way find a seat by the track and you can eat while you watch the cars whizz round the track. The toilets aren't that inviting but I guess what can you expect when there are thousands of people using them in a day. Remember to take ear muffs if you have sensitive ears or plan to go very close to the track.

Yelp
Silverstone is one of those places that people love to hate. It's changed a lot over the years and I've noticed improvements each time I've visited. Dependingon the championship you can get access to the paddock and behind the pits, if you can then a trip to the pit diner is worth it just for the experience. A nice place to watch from (again if access is available) is the bank beside the Farm caravan park. From here you can lie on the grassy banking and see the cars right infront of you. It's always a good idea ot ove around the track and here you can easily get to even the most outlying corners. F1 style safety precautions means that photography changes aren't always great but you can usually find a good spot. As with most circuits it's what happening on track that you come to see and that helps the enjoyment factor a lot!

Yelp
Although i hate to say it, Silverstone is a bit of a dump! I used to go to the british grand prix here every year (1993 - 2005) but since experiencing some of the other circuits on the calendar i havent been back for an F1 grand prix. Having said that, the place does have some character, and i've enjoyed going back for touring car and f1 testing events. I've already booked my tickets for this year's GP as it's probably the last one at Silverstone, although i'll be sad to see it go, i think and hope Donnington will do a better job with the investment they're putting into the track.

Yelp
Great venue - I went here for the British Grand Prix 2016 - what a great venue for such and epic day - in terms of facilities these were nice and modern and toilets at pretty much every corner all around the track - the entertainment was good the bands as such weren't anything to shout about but that's not what you come for - I thought all the staff were helpful chatty and fantastic - we were at becketts corner and the safety guy on the platform was trying to get everyone to do the Mexican wave while we're waiting around which was great fun - I was here from Thursday all the way through to the Sunday so I was able to spot some stuff here - the price were mostly expensive I would always recommend bringing your own food - in terms of coffees and teas the prices were crazy at 3.00 for a flat white I thought it could have been worse - I wasn't too happy with the eh prices for the programmes as it ended up being just a magazine as such - the main touch which I really enjoyed was we were able to go out on the track after the Grand Prix and have a good ride or walk around what an amazing experience I would defo recommend coming here if you can!
google avatar

Yelp
You don't want to say this but Bernie Ecclestone has a point. I went here for the Grand Prix for the first time in tens years and I was shocked at how much hasn't changed! look I love motor racing and have many friends who work in the motor racing industry around here and we need the Grand Prix. And as a knowledge base and track it's second to none. So if you are thinking of coming - do. You'll miss out if you don't. However, it's a shed in a field!! Don't expect mod cons equal to the money you pay. Don't expect the stalls of Goodwood which make it good for kids. But do come.

Steve W.

Yelp
Very, very big place, even if your only going to the BTCC races. Only 2 things spoil it for me. 1/ the lack of places to cross the track to the infield. Especially if you have problems walking. A long walk either way if your at Woodcote. And 2/ like a lot of these places, if you buy food from the burger stands on a race day, prepare to pay a small fortune for very little. A small portion of chips and a hot dog was 7.50 ukp. Also a small coffee is about 2.00 ukp to 2.50 ukp and tastes like coloured water. Hardly any coffee in it. Would of given higher rating if it wasn't for these points.

Yelp
I don't really care if it's the home of British Motor Racing - the set up needs a real shake up. It's inefficient, out dated, soul-less and the service (except from the gate staff) is really poor. Get your act together Silverstone - you don't deserve the GP.

Yelp
Silverstone was opened in 1943 as a World War II air field. It is now better known as the home of the British Grand Prix. Track days, driving experiences, and corporate services are also offered at the circuit. Our Banbury office include this in their top 5 family days out.

Yelp
Although I have been here many times a few years back, I went here yesterday (12.06.11) for the British Moto GP and I weren't impressed really. It's really good for public toilets, in that there were plenty scattered about, but they were all near enough blocked or had no loo roll. Considering how much it rained yesterday, all day non stop, there was absolutely nowhere to get cover! The circuit itself is good and there were plenty of places to view from, it just needs to think abit more about it's spectators who's hands were turning blue. Near enough everyone looked unhappy when we were all SO excited to be going!

Yelp
For my first Formula 1 race, I chose to travel 5,000 miles away from my home in the US for the British Grand Prix, partially because of my love of Britain, and partially for my love of Formula 1 racing. Silverstone was fantastic! Great crowd, as expected, great circuit to watch racing, and an even more fantastic race!
