I recently visited Simply South in Irving, Texas, and my experience was nothing short of delightful. I started off with their dosa, which came out perfectly golden and crisp. The outer layer had just the right crunch, while the inside remained soft and slightly fluffy. Dipping it into the sambar was a treat the sambar had that authentic South Indian tangy-spicy balance that immediately reminded me of home. It felt comforting and satisfying. The real highlight for me was the South Indian thali. It was like a festive spread laid out on my plate, with poori, plain rice, pulihora, sambar, rasam, dal, multiple curries, pachadi, chutneys, papadam, and sweets like kesari and sweet pongal. Every dish had its own unique flavor, yet they all tied together beautifully. The poori was perfectly puffed, the curries had that authentic home-style touch, and the rasam was bold and refreshing. I especially enjoyed how the desserts balanced out the spices from the main course. It felt like a complete journey of South Indian flavors in one sitting.I also tried their curry and biryani, which were served in brass vessels, adding a rustic, traditional vibe. The curry was rich and creamy, full of flavor, and the biryani was spiced just right without being overwhelming. Garnished with fresh coriander, it looked as good as it tasted. The ambience of the restaurant was lively, warm, and very inviting. The décor with South Indian touches made the experience even more authentic, and the place was buzzing with happy diners. Overall, my visit to Simply South felt like more than just a meal it was an experience of South Indian culture, flavors, and hospitality. Definitely a place I’d recommend and one I’ll be going back to soon.🥰🥰
