The Best Rotisserie Chicken Meal Deals, Ranked - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"If you're riding down Buford Highway, follow the giant plumes of smoke to El Autentico, a fast-casual Mexican restaurant. While plenty of menu items come off that grill, you're here for the flame-roasted chicken. It's bathed in lime for a powerful citrusy finish, cut into pieces, and stuffed into a styrofoam container that barely constrains the fragrant smoke swirling inside it. We'd pay $30 just to bottle up the smell. But you get an entire chicken—plus a salad, rice, beans, corn tortillas, and salsas. It’s enough food to feed a whole family or, you know, just yourself." - juli horsford

El Autentico Sinaloense Pollos Asados - Review - Buford Highway - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Giant plumes of smoke billow out of the back of this small Buford Highway Mexican restaurant and the smell of roasted chicken cuts through the parking lot, serving as their calling card. Walk through the front door and the tiny dining room is in a constant state of movement. There’s a line at the counter for takeout orders and servers flitting around carrying trays of fish tostadas and tasty giant quesadillas (stuffed so full of steak, lettuce, and melty cheese they’re more like sandwiches). But the main reason we come here is for the whole grilled chicken. It’s bathed in lime for a pleasantly citrusy finish, has a smoky char, and comes out in a container with fragrant smoke escaping out the sides. It’s a sweet deal—for $30 you get an entire chicken plus a salad, rice, beans, corn tortillas, and salsas. It’s enough food to feed a whole family or, you know, just yourself. Food Rundown Whole Chicken This needs to be part of your order because it’s what they do best. You don’t want to miss out on this chicken’s char, or that the meat stays moist and tender so that each bite feels like the best one. If you’re solo, take leftovers home for your next four meals. PlayMute video credit: Juli Horsford Quesadilla Especial This is an enormous quesadilla packed with so much lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and melty cheese that it seems more like a torta. Everything blends together for a creamy, layered experience and the grilled tortillas somehow never get soggy (even the next day). photo credit: Juli Horsford Tostada De Ceviche De Pescado The name kind of explains everything you need to know: it’s ceviche on a tostada. The deep fried tortilla has a hard crunch and the chunky white fish is sprinkled with lime juice and mixed with chunks of tomato, onion and avocado slices, making for light and refreshing bites. photo credit: Juli Horsford Barbacoa Tacos We know we said the chicken is the best meat here. But this slightly mushy, beefy barbacoa is a worthy runner-up. It doesn’t even need the salsa verde on the side to taste as good as it does, but it adds some heat photo credit: Juli Horsford" - Juli Horsford

"You’ll spot the smoke and smell the mouthwatering aromas from this family-owned eatery across Buford Highway. Sinaloan cuisine is all about big flavor, and the perfectly marinated, char-grilled chicken here does not disappoint. Paired with a sublime green salsa and out-of-this-world sides of beans, rice, and fresh tortillas, you’ll be treated to the ultimate comfort meal. Keep an eye out for specials on weekdays when they offer a free half chicken with every whole chicken purchased, which usually results in long lines and a packed parking lot." - Michael Tran
