The Old-School Pizza Spots Of Miami

"This Key Biscayne institution has been feeding key rats since 1969. For a long time, it was one of just a few restaurants on the island. That’s changed, but their thin crust pizzas sliced into tiny squares haven't. These are far from the best pies in Miami, but they no doubt tug at the heartstrings of anyone whose childhood memories include Key Biscayne beach days. Sir Pizza looks the same as it did in the ‘90s, with its Tiffany lamps, curved wooden booths, and red upholstery. Our go-to order here is (and always has been) pepperoni. The pepperoni is chopped and evenly distributed from corner to corner. The sauce is a little heavy on the oregano, but that’s why you should always get a big, cold side of ranch. What a Pity for years we have been getting amazing pizzas from here but I came in tonight and I was totally disappointed the pizza is completely different that what it use to be the quality just felt low it was cooked correctly but the ingredients were bland tasteless I hope they didn’t sell the business it just feels like low quality ingredients are being used🥲

Google
Good and tasty pizza but a little bit expensive for large pizza $28 like that we had to order a small pizza for $15 but it’s worth it,and delicious. Highly recommended the taste but not the price

Google
We Smelled it from a Block Away and knew It was a Winner! YESSIR Pizza might be one of The Best in Southern Florida. I was hungry and Looked Local only to find this Treasure. The Crispy Crunchy Crust with a tangy Tomato Sauce Slathered (Because I watched the Preparation) on Top Then Skillfully Selected Toppings Placed to the EDGE of the Pizza. Never a Dull Bite. This is ‘Burn The Roof of Your Mouth’ Pizza as you can’t wait To Ingest. I expected a Traditional pepperoni and Sausage fair but what I Got was Gorgeous and Took me places that hold Special Places in my Spirit. They ‘Squared’ my pizza. And I almost shed a tear as this was the way I got Introduced to what we refer To as ‘Upstate Style’ ) As a kid every summer we’d Go upstate to visit. And They cut round pizzas into Square Slices. So you think You’re eating bits and pieces and then there are no more Bits and Pieces and you Want More? YESSIR, )

Delicious as usual! I have memories from eating this pizza years ago and honestly, the taste only gets better! Absolutely recommend it!

Google
One of my favorite pizza places ever! Fond memories of having sir pizza after Long Beach days on the key. The sauce is sweet and delicious. Definitely check this place out if you’re on Key Biscayne!

Google
We ordered large pizza, half with cheese and half with veggies. We also ordered sides of garlic bread, baked French fries and chocolate chip cookies.Everything was freshly made after the order was placed except for cookies which were made already. The cheese pizza was better than the veggie. The veggie pizza didn't have any salt in it. Overall the food was fresh and nice.

Google
Very good pizza with fluffy base, fresh melted mozzarella cheese and just the right amount tomato sauce.

Yelp

Yelp
Sir! This pizza is too saucy. The cheese isn't cheesing for me. Tbh I kind of liked the pizza and it's good after a long day at the beach but.... I wish it was more. It needs more cheese or better cheese and less sauce for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Best pizza in the world and has been so for over 40 years. The one thing that hasn't changed in KB. Ambiance is totally chill, service is totally whatever. But the pepperoni pizza has no equal!

Yelp
Been going here for decades. Favorite pizza after a trip to the beach. Consistently good and always is delicious. Highly recommend a side of their infamous ranch. Trust me try it and you'll understand the hype of pizza with ranch

Yelp
Locals tell me this place is good. Their pizza reminded me of Elios frozen pizza. This does not appear to be hand tossed Neopolitan style pizza like is available in the North east. The pizza dough was not very good, and the cheese was flavorless. The wife and I were very hungry after a long day at the beach and this was on the way home. Sorry, not a fan.

Yelp
While running some errands we got hungry and decided to give sir pizza a try. The place is clean and service is great. Food was fresh and made to order. We got 3 mini pizzas which were the perfect size for my kids and I, we also tried the garlic cheese bread which we loved, and the Philly cheesesteak which was extremely flavorful and cheesy!

Yelp
I grew up eating, sir pizza as a child and even though I moved off the island as an adult going back, it's still just as good literally my first stop as soon as I get back to Biscayne from Los Angeles. I look forward to it every single trip and I am so gratefulthat they are still going strong after all these years so please everybody them by eating their delicious amazing pizza and spread the word

Yelp
Love this place, the pizza is amazing. Love it! The only one thing I didn't like was the costumer service, the guy was very rude. But overall it was great.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this pizza spot. The pepperoni was diced like the inside of a pizza pocket. The pizza almost has no crust just crispy burnt ends. Highly recommend trying them out for a unique pizza experience in Key Biscayne. The large was perfect to feed 2-3.

Yelp
I haven't been here in over seven or eight years. I only come to Key Biscayne for work so I decided to come back and see if the pizza is still as good as I remember well I'm happy to report the quality is still the same and my pizza that I had for lunch was outstanding! Cooked just right. The sauce had great flavor. Perfect amount of cheese nice crispy crust. It was a very satisfying pizza. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. To Check out some other pizzas and some of their hot sandwiches. I've also heard people also like to get the ranch dressing and dip their pizza into it. Never tried that before but hey, you only live once!!!

Yelp
Menu loaded sir pizza has been in business 52 years!! We were at the beach and after we left I decided to show my daughter this place last time I visited was 20 years ago! So we ordered a small cheese , a lasagna. Cheese bread & a small salad! The food was phenomenal still after all these years! Great quality food and great staff this place remains opened all these years because it's the best! My daughter absolutely loved it!

Yelp
My boyfriend have been wanting to bring to this place for over a month, cuz he was here before and said was amazing, well, we are here and he is so upset, the "new" sauce that they are using for the pizza is really bad, doesn't taste the same and he is really disappointed, I am too

Yelp
This is a casual pizza spot. I had actually never ventured inside, we had always ordered in. Yesterday however, I experienced the full Sir Pizza experience. As I said, casual. There are booths inside. You order at the window and grab your food once your order is called. The inside is clean and simple. Service was fast and attentive, which is easy because all you're doing is going to a window and ordering. There is something addictive about their pizza. After one bite, I am left wanting more, and more. They have thinner crust and square cut pieces. The addictive nature of their pizza can probably be attributed to their ranch. I like to order EXTRA and dip my pizza in the ranch. It is the most wonderful compliment that pizza could ever ask for. Regardless of what you order, be certain to ask for some ranch to accompany it. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This has been on Key Biscayne for quite a few years now, and I have never tried it before. My BF said he had when it first opened and it is like any other chain (think Little Caesars / Hungry Howie's ) - mediocre pizza at best. Since we have been going to Casola's Pizza on 17th street in Miami for years and love it (see my previous review) , we had no reason to try Sir Pizza. When we had to move my mother in law out of the apartment on the Key, we had 6 guys in to take out the furniture and box things up and so we looked on line to see what would be the easiest to do. Sir Pizza seemed to be the place to go and have lunch brought in. They had a variety of food and they delivered . They opened at 10:30 am, and I called to place the order. Somehow we had looked at an old menu online and so they did not have many of things we wanted to order. So I had to hang up and look at the current menu and ask everyone again what they wanted. After I placed 1/2 the order, I was told that they did not offer delivery during the day - only at night. It would have been really helpful to have put that on the website or put that somewhere. We would have ordered from another restaurant in that case. We ordered a large cheese pizza, a large sausage and cheese pizza, 3 chicken breast sandwiches, a Philly cheese steak sub, tuna sub, and 1/2 lb hamburger. The pizza was a bit overcooked, so dry on the edges, and so not very flavorful. The sausage had a bit more flavor, but I didn't like that it was crumbled sausage, not chunks or slices. And again, it was a bit overcooked. The guys all said their subs/sandwiches were ok. Fine to fill up on, but they liked the subs made at the Winn Dixie much better. That says something right there. The woman on the phone was pleasant and our order was ready when they said it would be. But based on our mediocre pizza and food, I would not go there again. Even if I were trapped on the Key without a car.

Yelp
This place is definitely the best pizza place in miami The family and I drive about 30 minutes just to come here. You have to try it with their ranch sauce !

Yelp
When my kids were younger, I always used to take them to Sir Pizza in kendall after their drs visits. We were all very sad when they closed. They also closed the one by merrick Park; we were devastated. I assumed all of them had closed, but as I was on Tik-Tok the other day, I saw someone at the original Sir Pizza in Key Biscayne, and my son immediately said, "Let's go". All I have to say is when I smelled that Pizza and my son, who is now 23 years old, it literally transformed me back in time when I use to take him. This time, he drove me, and he paid If you didn't know, now you know...

Yelp
Bring Oscar back!!!! The food and the service is not the same without him. He is the beacon of Sir Pizza on Key Biscayne. You felt his presence every time you walked in there. He put all is his love and passion into making the food and making sure everyone had an amazing experience.

Yelp
It honestly pains me to write this because I hadn't had Sir Pizza in roughly close to 5 years. I remember it being a bomb ass pizza. I used to go to the one in the gables quite often. My boyfriend raved about this one and said it's the original one so we drove way out of the way to pick up an order. I honestly was highly disappointed. The pizza recipe must have been completely revamped because this is not the pizza I remember. I remember the pepperoni pizza being loaded with the signature minced pepperoni, which our pizza severely lacked. The bbq chicken pizza was extremely dry. Chicken was over cooked. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of greasy pizza, but there was something about Sir Pizzas greasy pizza that was so delicious. This pizza had zero, I mean zero grease. I've never seen a pizza box I was able to recycle! LOL. I vote to bring back the old recipe! The cheese bread was okay. Nothing to rave about. We also had their chocolate chip cookies, which are the size my hand and they are pretty good. Not your typical cookie, but oddly addicting.

Yelp
I think the pizza here is definitely top 5 in Miami. The vibes are very nonchalant and I love that. It's a very homey feel and the service is always amazing. Ive been coming here since I was a little girl and every time I go to the beach in key Biscayne I alway make sure to get the Large Royal Feast pizza with ranch on the side. The ranch is the best part and combines all the flavors together. Sir Pizza is definitely a Miami staple and everyone should go.

Yelp
You walk in here and you would think you've entered a time warp, back to 1980. The place just feels yucky, with very poor lighting, especially in the left dining room. The old curved booths were very uncomfortable. To order, you walk up to the front counter--I barely got an acknowlegement of my presence, let alone a smile. I told them it was my first time there and it was dead silence. I settled on the royal feast pizza, removing mushrooms and adding bacon, and they charged me extra for that move--how nice. They made the pizza pretty quick and threw it on their conveyor belt pizza oven (Little Caesar's style). When it was done, they call your name and you pick it up. It was nice and hot with toppings all the way to the edge. Not sure why they cut it into squares, it creates very tiny pieces at the edge. Perhaps they could ask how I would like my pizza cut? These clowns covercooked the pizza, so the cheese was brown and dry, the crust underneath was thin and almost black. The sauce had far too much sugar in it making it overly sweet. Despite the number of toppings, the taste of the pizza was poor due to it being overcooked. I also didn't see any pepperoni on it; perhaps it's ground up? At any rate, the whole pizza was pretty tasteless. Also bought one of their chocolate chip cookies which also lacked flavor--I just tasted oily plain dough and some chocolate chips. What a waste of time; we won't be back.

Yelp
Best pizza in town..... Grew up in this island and still go back just for some pepperoni pie and a side order of ranch. I literally just drive in to pick up and go back home.

Yelp
Sir Pizza on Crandon was a childhood staple. I used to come here with my late grandmother, my late dad, my sisters, and various cousins again and again until I moved away from South Florida in 2010. My dad's family grew up on the Key. My parents met on the Key. This place has always been a family favorite. Whenever I'm back to visit family, I try and make it a point to pick up a pie from here. Something about their minced pepperoni & the way they cut their pies into petite rectangular pieces (with a side of ranch por favor) is hard to qualify. It tastes the same as it always has. It's no-nonsense pizza fare - no truffle-infused sauces or heirloom ingredients foraged by bearded locavores. Nope. This pizza would not woo the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana. But then again, it isn't trying to. It's unpretentious, and this is why we love it.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
The food has been great every time I go there, I only eat their pizza and garlic bread so I can't say how their other menu options are. Service is friendly and quick to take your order when they're not packed. Out of all, this is my favorite pizza.
google avatar

Mohamed D.

Yelp
My first time in Miami and my good friend took me and my GF to sir pizza, before heading over to Key Biscayne beach. He spoke highly of it, he's been going there for several years since he was a kid. The place was clean and the staff that took our order was nice. Three pizza took about 15-20 minutes. Boy was it delicious! I got the pepperoni pizza with an iced tea. The crust was nice and not too overwhelming, the pepperoni bits were god-tier, and the cheese was amazing. I would go there again.

Yelp
The best of the best this was the place for me since child hood I love it the pizza is out of this world my favorite they have all type of sauces you could pick from . If you are in the area stop by and check t

Yelp
When I was around 5 years old, I had a birthday at a Sir Pizza by my house. Its a fond memory of mine, and to be honest I thought all these locations shut down, but after my day at the beach I decided to go to Sir Pizza. I've always found the name Sir. Pizza to be a little strange. It implies that somewhere, there is a lineage of Pizza royalty that has decided to knight Mr. Pizza, and enter him into a high status of nobility. It also implies further the existence of pizza chivalry, as well as some form of pizza crusade. And then, assuming history is parallel, more crusades in the following centuries. About the pizza. Honestly, it was OK. I was pretty starving following my beach outing, and I can tell you that it was a well sized pizza, but I wouldn't write home about it. It was forgettable which is unfortunate given my childhood memories, now lost to the sands of time. We will all pass one day reader, make something well of your life.

Yelp
This layback and unpretentious pizza place has been one of my Summer fav eating spots for years and stopping by this Summer was no exception except there was... Service - Unfortunately, it was ok at best and felt as if they couldn't be bother to take my order much less prepare my food. There were plenty of people behind the counter so it wasn't due to being overwhelmed by servicing all its customers. Place - it lacked cleanliness...again, there was plenty of personnel for the restaurant not to be picked up. Food Ordered - *Original Pizza w: Pepperoni ($19.15) - this famous crustless pizza was very saucy & runny. Unlike previous occasions, the pizza would have been devoured; but this time, it was best to cut our losses. *Chef salad ($4.05) - it was fresh, tasty & worth eating. But when the salad that comes from a bag is better than the pizza I came for, it makes me shake my head... This fav place, unfortunately, fell from grace with me. I hope the owner(s) turn their personnel around & take charge of their food quality...can't wish you a Bon Appétit this time..!
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
Always a favorite!!!! Their salad is always fresh, their pizza is freshly baked and beyond delicious, and then their cookies if made correctly are heaven on earth! Only reason I am giving a 4/5 this time is because I did not appreciate the staff that was working and they burned my cookies.

Matt B.

Yelp
I like the broiled chicken sandwich (the ROUND ONE... not the 'submarine/hogie-shaped' sandwich because that one is breaded and tastes bad for some reason. @6.75$, it's also one of the cheapest options on the key for a prepared meal!! Unhealthy option: compliment this chicken sandwich with a pers-sized

Yelp
I grew up in Key Biscayne and although they have Domino's on the island, it didn't surpass Sir Pizza. The ingredients are fresh!! I've never had a bad experience. I recall my younger days being spent on the beach with a nice delicious lunch from Sir Pizza!! Sir Pizza expanded their locations in Kendall, but it doesn't compare to Sir Pizza in Key Biscayne. Now I get to bring my boys where I grew up and the places on the island I enjoyed. Although I've read other reviews on the decor not being updated since 1980, I am happy it is still the same. I'm so happy Sir Pizza is still around!

Yelp
A staple on Key Biscayne. Great pizza and a family favorite. Best ranch dressing in Miami (very random but try it and you will see what I mean)

Yelp
Sir Pizza, you have a pizza my heart (see what I did there?). Whenever I leave Miami, Sir Pizza will most certainly be a place I miss. My love started over ten years ago while in college at the U. Back then, there were more locations, making it easy to order after long nights out on the town. Nowadays, there are only a couple of locations left including this one. I recently found myself nearby and couldn't leave the Key without bringing a pie home to go. My husband and I shared a large pepperoni pizza with a side of ranch (about $20) which fed us for both dinner and lunch the next day (but we had to show a lot of restraint to not eat the whole thing in one sitting). NO WHERE else do I order pizza with ranch but here it's just tradition. The pepperoni is also not in round slices like most pizza places, but rather, minced into small pieces. Again, not something I'd go for anywhere else but here. Part nostalgia and part pure deliciousness makes this pizza a win in my book. We called in our order for pickup and it was ready pretty quickly. We paid upon arrival. They seemed to be following COVID safety protocols, although it was really hard to hear in there between masks and the sound of the kitchen. There are some tables outside which people were taking advantage of.
google avatar

Jeannie C.

Yelp
Sir Pizza is a KB staple & people LOVEEE this place. I'm not sure what it is about it. It really is just OK pizza, what makes it taste better is the KB loyalty I think. I ask them to toast the pizza twice for me, which IMO makes it taste better.
google avatar

Alexa L.

Yelp
Just drove 45 mins to Sir Pizza because my boyfriend was craving it. Thank God for pick up and them still being open! My first time and I am very impressed. Love how they cut the pizza in squares! Perfectly cooked, super crispy, and the pepperoni was different. Cheese bread was good, just bread and cheese. Oh, apparently they are famous for their ranch, which I can understand why! Buttermilk explosion, super thick and flavorful! Highly recommended and will be coming back to try more items.
google avatar

Suchitra J.

Yelp
This is a solid pizza place in Key Biscayne! I love grabbing a pizza after a day at the beach. I had a veggie fiest pizza and I loved it! Definitely my favorite pizza spot in Key Biscayne! I'll be back - hopefully soon!

Yelp
Came here with my Brother to ascertain the pizza and ordered their Royal Feast and Hawaiian smalls which are personal sizes. We took it to go and had them a few blocks away. We drizzled oregano, garlic salt and crushed dried pepper flakes on both pies before leaving. The owners recommended dipping the pizza in their house made ranch dressing, I don't usually do this but heck I'll try anything once. The pizza was made in an electric oven with a timing belt. The pizza turned out ok, but I don't think it was anything special. Any of the wood fired or charcoal pizzas you can get would top this. You come to Sir Pizza because it is a legend in Key Biscayne. The establishment is in need of some renovation but I think the owners have the attitude that if it ain't broke don't fix it. I get it. And if it works, why change it. No problem with me. I enjoyed the pizza and it was tasty. However it's not the best Pizza in Miami by any stretch for your pizza connoisseurs out there.

Chris S.

Yelp
Yeah. Sir Pizza. When we ordered, the guy ringing us up was practically non-responsive and kept giving us gangster wide eyed stares. A couple people in our party got sick from the food. If we wanted a ghetto experience, we could have bought pizza in Overtown. Never again.
google avatar

Jose T.

Yelp
The dough at this, the original sir pizza is really good. The best topping is the pepperoni. Instead of round slices they chop it up and somehow it tastes way better. The pizza is cut up into small squares instead of slices. Again for some reason this makes a big difference. Easier to pick up small bite size piece and its tastes better to me. They have bud and bud light on tap. The garlic bread is also very nice. Now that Miami's best in Dixie closed this competes with Frankie's (on bird road) for the best pizza in the 305. The only drawback is the ambiance. They just put no effort into it

Mia F.

Yelp
First off if I could give this place a zero I would but the lowest is 1 star so I guess that fine. The experience I had today at this sir pizza was astonishing to say the least. I am appalled. I ordered 1 pizza an spent 25$ which the workers can not control so that's fine it's just an overpriced pizza but beyond the price of the pizza the workers were ridiculing my gay friend and making jokes about him in his face. Once we sat and were eating they started speaking about gay people obviously loud and Specifically one girl out loud , making multiple homophobic remarks. I will not be returning to this sir pizza especially since their workers are homophobic and have no manners.

Yelp
Sir pizza is a Key institution. Whether you live on the Key and roll up in your golf cart, or travel from Westchester (like me) as many weekends of your teenage years as you can- it is a place that must be visited. I spent many summers working at Swim Gym Sports camp on Key Biscayne and Sir Pizza was our favorite post work spot. To this day, it remains one of my favorite places to grab a pizza. It actually is kind of frozen in time, I am pretty sure nothing has changed since my high school days. Don't go here expecting any frills. The service is hit or miss, and the decor is dated but look past that all and dive straight into your Pizza of choice. Mine? It's definitely the pepperoni. This is not your average pizza. They cut the pieces into tiny squares of goodness and layer the pepperoni cubes under the cheese for the most ultimate meaty, spicy perfection. You MUST order this pizza with a side of ranch. This sauce is the loveliest pairing to the pizza. Dip, munch, and repeat- no judgement for double dips here because it is that.good. Aside from the pepperoni which I really do not stray from, the chocolate chip pizza is amazing as well. You may think- chocolate chips on a pizza?! I suggest trying it as the melted salty cheese and sweet morsels of chocolate chips over the crust is such a unique flavor mix and should not be missed. Speaking of crust- sir pizza does not have crust on its pizza. BRAVO, sir pizza team for focusing on the good stuff in every bite- the cheese and toppings. They also have some pretty tasty salads. I know what you're thinking. Salad at a pizza joint - naaaah. BUT I'm a sucker for chef salads and theirs has all the ham and turkey chopped up in the most precise little cubes of tastiness so you get a piece in every bite of lettuce. Yum! At one point, there was a sir pizza craze and franchises opened up all over the 305. None of them ever tasted as cheesy and delicious as the location on the Key, which is why it is still open and always full. Last but not least you can also get a Sir Pizza chocolate chip cookie which they can warm for you in the Pizza conveyor belt. I mean, if that isn't happiness I'm not sure what is. Thank you, Sir Pizza, for being consistently as delicious.

Yelp
Love this place! Went there a lot when a was growing up and have not been there approx a little more than 20 years! Pizza is still as good as I remembered and the chocolate chip cookies are still excellent! It is so nice to see that good thing with time have not changed!

Yelp
If your a fan of Indiana pizza aka Pizza King then you will enjoy this. Although it's not exactly like Pizza King it is similar. It's just missing the charred crust like pizza king.

Yelp
This summer will be fifty years since my first Crusader Sub at Sir Pizza. Their pizza, subs, salads are second to none. Key BISCAYNE's residents and visitors are lucky they are still around. Same great quality and service!
