NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"In the Meatpacking District, Sirrah serves a $75 four-course prix fixe. The set-up is pretty standard French bistro: amuse bouche, bread service, appetizer, a main course like hanger steak, branzino or lion’s mane mushrooms, and a dessert. Your main also comes with unlimited fries. Make it count." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

Dined here on Saturday night & everything from the service, ambience and food was superb! Our server Gustavo was very hospitable and even though we were 15 min late to our table, we were not rushed and enjoyed our meal for 2 hrs+, something that not many restaurants are doing off late. Each course from the French onion soup, fresh salad, hanger steak, tower of fries and the finale of berries & cream was delectable. Celebrating our anniversary, we were also presented a complimentary salted caramel cake. Ended our night with an espresso martini which sure was the icing of a memorable dinner. Highly recommend this spot!

We made reservations for my husband’s birthday and it was perfect! From the greeting at the door, to every interaction with staff, the service was impeccable. There is pre fixe menu and it was excellent. The branzino was perfectly cooked, tender and light. The steak delicious with multiple sauces. The truffle fries were the highlight abundantly scattered across your table with a generous shaving of black truffle on top. The wine was perfectly paired with our meal. The dessert was delicious the freshest berries and cream. The decor, vibe, and music were great too!

We saw a great review for Sirrah online including photos of the insane amount of french fries you’re served and so we decided to give it a try. OMG! We are so happy we did! From the moment we arrived it was a terrific experience! The greeting, service, and food were all top notch! Pepper, the bartender was so friendly and helpful with our drink selections and questions. He made us feel so welcome and special. Vlad, our server was very attentive. This restaurant serves many courses for one reasonable flat $75. We absolutely loved all the courses of our meal that began with an adorable expresso cup of French Onion Soup (perfect size). My fish was amazing and my hubby’s steak was perfection. Vlad even topped off our visit with a complimentary birthday dessert! The intimate, beautiful atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for. And of course the heaping pile of french fries was super fun (see photo)! We highly recommend this restaurant and we’ll definitely return on our next NYC visit!

🎀Sirrah was truly an amazing experience! My friend and I celebrated her birthday here last night and everything was phenomenal the moment you walk through the curtains! From the whipped butter to the filet mignon, the table service was entertaining and amazing! The atmosphere is also so aesthetically beautiful, you feel like you’re in the heart of a Parisian city! The staff were kind and dressed so stylish it tied in perfectly with the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend for intimate dates, birthday/anniversary celebrations. ✨

Loved everything about this restaurant. The ambience, the service, the food everything was 10/10. Me and my friends loved the fry tower!! we called it “girl dinner” lol Highly recommend coming here. Also, the espresso martini was so so good. The only thing that was iffy was the restaurant was a little hard to find at first because it was dark and raining, and there was no light by the restaurant door. Overall, we loved it though!

Google
Sirrah is a fun night out and a great spot for big groups. It’s a fixed menu of a really great steak and delicious dessert with unlimited Fries. There’s a salad as a started but it was pretty forgettable. The design is chic and the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. all in all highly recommend to check it out.

Google
Cute and unique French steak frites experience. The restaurant is beautiful and all the staffs are friendly and welcoming. Love the presentation of the unlimited French fries. It’s messy but fun. A lil disappointed of the hanger steak as although they look delicious, but kinda lack of flavor of the meat. The sauce or dressing don’t really go well with the steak but overall the foods are good. The branzino was nice. The entire dinner we were able to enjoy the meal and were not rushed at all. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.

I had the pleasure of attending the friends and family event before the official opening, and I was beyond impressed with the entire concept. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the friendliest and most pleasant hosts, who guided me to the stylish bar/lounge area while my table was being prepared. While waiting, the bartender crafted one of the most delicious drinks I’ve had in a long time—an absolute treat! Once seated, I was thrilled with the thoughtfully curated pre-fixe menu. Every course was a delight—from the warm, fresh bread to the crisp salad and perfectly cooked steak. But the true standout? The unlimited, freshly cooked fries—hot, crispy, and utterly addictive. The trio of sauces for both the steak and fries was a brilliant touch, adding fun and flavor to an already incredible meal. We ended the evening with a refreshing berry bowl—a light and satisfying finish to an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere and décor are just as impressive as the food—elegant, modern, and full of charm. This is a must-visit spot. It’s worth every penny, and I can’t wait to come back. A true gem in every sense!

Yelp
Had my birthday dinner here last weekend and my friends and I were so happy with our experience! Atmosphere, decor, food & service were all excellent! Luigi handled our table of 10 like a pro & was very attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. Excited to go back!

Yelp
While the decor is attractive, and the cocktails were well made, the price fixe meal is a pastiche of what an authentic French restaurant would serve. The experience is more of an attempt at culinary theater than an exemplary meal. The French onion amuse-bouche was good, but it was a far cry from authentic French onion soup. The bread service was underwhelming, consisting of a few pieces of crusty baguette that obviously were store-bought, and the salad, despite its "authentic" champagne vinaigrette, was tasty but similar to what is served en masse. Yet it was the most hyped attraction, the "endless" French fries, that were a disappointment as they were not remotely Pomme or Steak Frites but rather what you would expect from a fast food restaurant - my wife said McDonald's fries are better. The Truffle supplement was a bit intriguing, as despite the show of its presentation, it has no aroma or taste, and as to whether it was an actual "Italian truffle" or a truffle for that matter remains a $15 mystery. The entrees were adequate - the optional 6 oz. Filet Mignon was ok and better than the hanger steak in appearance and taste, and my wife enjoyed her fish. The berries and creme dessert, which, like the salad, was what you would expect at a large-scale event, and the optional cake, a supposed tribute by the chef to a Carvel ice cream cake of his youth, was bland and paled in comparison to the real thing. The servers were pleasant, albeit a bit disorganized, and the music was loud enough to drown out your ability to discern that the meal was far more about a cost-calculated presentation of food than the desire to create a quasi-over-the-top French dining experience. All that glitters isn't always gold, but it still made for a nice evening...

Yelp
We're always excited to try a new steak frites place so when we heard about Sirrah, we came to check it out. Located in the Chelsea area, this restaurant is huge. There's lots of space and it's beautiful. When the weather is nice they open the glass windows to the outside area which seems to confuse patrons as they all try to enter through there instead of the front door. Let's talk about the food. It's a $75 prefix menu with additional sides and supplements you could add. The French onion soup that they start with is an espresso sized cup of consomme. Delicious and warm. Then you move onto bread from Zabar's and a salad. The salad is lightly dressed and very balanced. Now let's talk steak and fries. I wished my steak was a bit more rare but it was fine. The fries are definitely cooked in beef fat because they taste like McDonald's used to. And that's not a bad thing. They're also unlimited so they'll keep on refilling them. The sauces is where I find could use some work. I love au poivre sauce and I felt it didn't have any peppercorn in it. And the sauces for the fries were almost too rich. The broccoli side has a hint of curry and was great. Finally you finish off with berries and creme. A classic and delicious dish. And service here is great. Everyone is super attentive and nice.

Yelp
Outstanding French style Steak and Frites and surprisingly amazing Branzino. Both the hanger steak and the ribeye were perfectly cooked medium rare. Great cocktails. Awesome wine list with great value wines. A bottle of Mercury Head that retails for $150-$180 can be ordered here for $225.. Service is attentive and ambience is hip. Will return. 5 star review from Dr. Lopez

Yelp
Wow--just had an incredible meal at Sirrah, the new restaurant on Little W 12th St / Gansevoort St. The steak was cooked perfectly (rare+), the mushroom steak was outstanding, and every side--salad, fries, desserts--was spot on. Beautiful space, flawless service, and very fair prices. We'll definitely be back soon with the kids.

Yelp
Had a lovely experience at Sirrah. The dining room is absolutely stunning and they've taken almost all of the guess work out of what to order. They have a $75 p/p multi course price fixe with three entree options (branzino, skirt steak and a mushroom steak) with the option of adding more veggie sides. I got the mushroom steak along with glazed carrots and Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious. Their presentation of the fries shows that this is restaurant where you're meant to have fun. Needless to say we leaned in.

Yelp
A truly unique and elevated dining experience--without the pretension!!! I loved how the meal felt high-end yet relaxed, and the entire pre-fixe dinner took just under two hours, which meant I was perfectly on time to meet friends after. Thoughtful touches like the French onion soup shot to start and the limoncello to finish made it feel special from beginning to end. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious--every course felt intentional and well-executed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined yet efficient prix-fixe dinner experience.

Yelp
Food is of very good quality Prix fixe menu à turn off Dumping fries on the table ?? What's the point .... If serving fries a volonté is your catch, they should a least be homemade .. Won't come back

Yelp
Upscale ambience in an unparalleled location. Highly recommend the ribeye, it is cooked to perfection. Very simple pre fixed menu at a super reasonable price and the unlimited fries goes hard when they actually are good. Also the selection of 6 sirrah sauces takes it to the next level. They aren't re inventing the food menu but if you want great quality good service is a sexy location and atmosphere then Sirrah is it.

Yelp
I had my birthday dinner for twelve people on a Saturday night at Sirrah, and I could not have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is perfect for a group dinner because the prix fixe menu takes the guesswork out of ordering for many people. The menu consisted of unpretentious French bistro food that is just done consistently well. It consisted of a French onion soup consomme, salad, an entree choice of branzino or hanger steak (both done beautifully), and a berries and cream dessert. The vegetable sides were solid. We brought a birthday cake as well, which they cut and served for us (for a cake cutting fee), and also gifted me a complimentary slice of cake with a candle. The star of the show was the unlimited fries (some of the best fries I've ever had), and the mustachioed smiling gentleman in charge of replenishing them at every table brought so much joy to the evening. Sure, some might think that overflowing the receptacles and dumping fries onto the table might be a little gimmicky, but for a celebratory occasion, it's exactly what I wanted. I personally think it's a genius idea. When looking for a restaurant, I care equally about the quality of food as well as the ambience. Sirrah managed to meet expectations in both aspects. My friends and I have relatively high standards for food, and we were all pleased. The decor consisted of French chandeliers, plush velvet couches, fun fringe pillows, beautiful wall art, and mood lighting - perfect for a celebratory dinner. While I was setting up the table with party favors, my friends were also able to get pre-dinner drinks at a separate enclave with a cocktail bar, which was a nice touch. Lastly, the manager/owner (?) was so kind to us and gave us multiple rounds of complimentary shooters (one lemon-flavored and one espresso martini) at the end of the night. Our waitress was attentive, kind, and did a fantastic job taking care of our large party. Thank you, Sirrah, for such a memorable birthday evening.

Yelp
This is the perfect restaurant whether for a date or a night out with friends. The food, service and atmosphere or all impeccable. My second time there and had a great time. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Inviting. Warm. Elegant. Friendly. A completely unique dining experience that will be a gem in Meatpacking for years to come. Service was top notch. The dining experience and comfort was second to none. Bottomless fries. Perfectly cooked steak. Seasoned well. Fries were hot and crispy. Dips and sauces were perfect and generous. And the Acoustics, perfect. If you've been to restaurants in manhattan, you know NOISE is a problem. Not at Sirrah. The energy was great, without feeling noisy. A truly special dining experience.

Yelp
Pretty underwhelming overall, especially for New York. I ended up getting food poisoning after my visit, and when I reached out to the restaurant, they showed no concern. The atmosphere felt tacky, the service was average, and the food was disappointing.

Yelp
Outstanding restaurant- loved everything about it! Food really delicious, a new twist on steak frites, with ambiance and design making this my new favorite downtown restaurant. Each course was excellent and the service is impressive and warm. Bravo! I'll be back!

Yelp
They did everything right, starting with the onion soup amuse bouche, which was not cluttered with the usual cheese and bread, so I could really taste the onion. Which was delicious. Some other highlights: the waiter, filling the container for the frites, kept making it overflow, so there were frites all over the table, which was fun. Really good salad dressing. Hanger steak as rare as I'd asked for, and a reasonable amount so I didn't feel gross afterwards! Many attentive servers. Romantic but also cool ambiance. Bravo!

Yelp
Very attentive and friendly team at Sirrah! The food was tasty and has a nice presentation!
