Last night, before heading to Opera Holland Park, we stopped by Six Portland Road for dinner. Located on a side street, the restaurant is tucked away from the city's noise, and it even has a lovely terrace for al fresco dining on summer evenings.
The service was outstanding, with the staff being exceptionally friendly and energetic. We were the first table to arrive, but the restaurant quickly filled up.
We enjoyed Beef Tartar with Chips, Burrata Salad, Golden Risotto, and Chicken Pie. The portions were generous, and the Beef Tartar and Chips made a perfect pairing. The Beef Tartar was exquisitely flavorful, with a tender texture that melted in the mouth. The Burrata paired wonderfully with peaches. The mix of fresh and caramelised peach was light and could even be a great choice for dessert – ideal for those who prefer delicate flavors.
For the main course, the Chicken Pie was a visual and gastronomic delight. The pie was beautifully golden brown, and the vegetables created a balanced meal. It was my first time trying Beetroot Risotto, and it exceeded my expectations. Cooked al dente, it was simply amazing.
We also had the Bread and Butter, which was delicious and fresh.
Overall, it was an excellent dining experience, and I highly recommend Six Portland Road for a memorable evening out.
