"After S.K.Y. closed their Pilsen location in March, we began counting the days to when we’d meet their lobster dumplings again. Now the restaurant from the Valhalla team has finally reopened, this time in a luxurious apartment building in Lincoln Park. The larger spot has an updated menu with spicy shrimp and crab summer rolls, along with S.K.Y. classics like fried chicken with habanero butter and those dumplings in a jade butter sauce." - john ringor, nick allen
"The team behind Valhalla and Apolonia closed S.K.Y. in Pilsen a few months ago, which means it has been a few months too long without their lobster dumplings. Thankfully, the New American restaurant has returned, this time in Lincoln Park’s luxurious Belden-Stratford building. Like the previous location, S.K.Y.'s industrial-chic design and moody lighting make it a great date night spot when you're ready to step up from "spontaneous casual." More importantly, those incredible dumplings are back. Some tasty newcomers also appear on the menu, like juicy tikka masala lamb meatballs, a take on mapo tofu with whipped ricotta as a soybean stand-in, and a fantastic tropical pavlova. And while we like coming here for a date night, birthday, or catch-up dinner with friends, we also like scheduling some alone time with S.K.Y.'s excellent lobster dumplings and fried chicken with habanero butter. "It's your special day, so according to the very official Birthday Handbook, you're allowed to make very particular, Goldilocks-esque requests. And if that means wanting to host your dinner at a place that's nice-but-not-too-fancy, S.K.Y. in Lincoln Park is a great choice. It's located inside of the luxurious Belden Stratford building with a low lit, industrial chic dining space that feels sophisticated yet not uptight, and their creative New American dishes are excellent. Some of our favorites are the fried chicken with habanero butter, tikka masala meatballs, and a whipped ricotta play on mapo tofu.
