One guy, an empty lot, and unexpectedly great barbecue - Review - Miami - The Infatuation
"Slab Daddy’s location is still a work in progress. But their food isn’t. For now, the barbecue spot is operating out of a food truck in an empty lot in Allapattah. So you’ll be sitting outside on picnic tables next to what will (hopefully) be their future brick and mortar. But you could eat their spare ribs in a swarm of venomous snakes, and feel your worries slip away as easily as the meat does off the bone. This is tangy, vinegary, Carolina-style barbecue. Expect the usual suspects like corn bread, pulled pork sandwiches, and brisket. But you can also have rice and beans or make little tacos with flour tortillas, carnitas, slaw, and baptize it all in barbecue sauce.

Peach Glazed Spare Ribs
A little sweet, a little tart, but consistently tender. Sounds like our ideal life partner. The meat doesn’t fall off the bone unprompted—it tugs away from the bone with every bite, which is the way it should be with barbecue ribs.

Miami Style Brisket
We’re not sure what makes this brisket “Miami style”—it’s just a perfectly executed smoked brisket. It’s delicious, especially when you slather it with their peppery neon orange sauce.
Mac & Cheese
The amount of breadcrumbs in this ensures texture and crunch in every bite.

Tray For Two
This includes all of the above, plus carnitas and tortillas. It’s $60, which isn’t a bad deal at all if you’re splitting it with someone.

Smoked Chicken Wings
These don’t come in the tray for two, but add them. They’re tossed in a vinegary sauce and the hours of smoking have penetrated down to the bone." - Virginia Otazo
