The Best Atlanta Restaurants for Delivery and Takeout Food | Eater Atlanta

"With a few months under its belt at The Dairies, Small Fry could be written off as simple fried food. But another glance at the menu shows it’s stacked with classics, innovative sandwiches, and specials like prawn-topped creamy lemon risotto. With masterfully crisp (and never oily) panko-crusted Atlantic cod and punchy wedge salad that’s hard to forget, this counter-service spot packs mouth-watering flavors you’ll crave even if you can’t dine in with chef Anthony. Call the restaurant to place to-go orders and ask for a rewards card to earn a free meal." - Molly Harris

The Best New Restaurants Around Atlanta, March 2025

"People are flocking to Small Fry  Atlanta Dairies in Reynoldstown for all the deep fried goodness. Fried shrimp, chicken, and fishcake sandwiches, including the vodka Parmesan fried chicken sando, are popular. There’s a side of shoestring fries, and end the meal with a rotating offering of desserts including an olive oil cake with lemon cream. The sandwiches are big, be warned, and messy. But they pack plenty of flavor." - Henna Bakshi

Google
Creative drinks and delicious food. We had the Fritto Misto and Mussels fra Diavolo to split, while also eating the Vodka Parm (Spicy). Everything was fresh and flavorful. Would definitely want to come back to try more of the menu. They also validate parking, even though you get 1-hr free M-Th. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Ordered the godfather (daily only from 12-4 PM) and vodka parm with truffle fries. All three were spot on! No crumbs were left behind whatsoever, it was that finger lickin’ good. Definitely a must go and will be returning! Only downside during my visit was the lack of AC, but it did clearly did not matter when the food was that yums!

Google
The chicken parm sandwich was delicious and messy.. Didn’t get much of the pistachio pesto flavor but the sauce was fantastic! Then it came with an excessively large amount of tini shoestring fries.. enough for 4 ppl each.. Cool spot with great music..I will be back!

Google
Yolanda has been such a great bartender every time I’ve gone, same with Josh and David. The vodka parm, godfather, and smash burgers are all so good, same with the freaky tea. Everyone in atl should check this place out

Google
TLDR; You can taste the southern love in this food. 🧡Go. Perfect sized menu with high tier ingredients moderate bar with about 20 stools w/ cushion. (Could use bag hooks n umbrella cup) The ambience was upbeat & conversationally quaint. Like acid jazz house type stuff. It’s about and hour or less spot; date chillin or industry folks pregame. Very particular bar selection & skilled mixologist Caleb, both will impress advanced bartenders. Visible chefs & kitchen. They run their food and give real dap🫱🏿‍🫲🏻That’s home grown. Only bottleneck I see potentially is hours of operation. It’s apparent the only thing keeping this back from being mentioned over the bars in New 4th Ward/Eastside, is time. 10/10. 5 stars. Rooting for Small Fry.

Google
Inedible. I ordered the Fritto Misto and within the first bite my mouth was so dried out from the insane amount of salt they used. I never send food back but couldn't have another bite so nicely asked if I could have a different batch with less seasoning and their staff gave me a horrible attitude, but remade it. The second plate was just as bad so I'm guessing the seasoning is a premade mix that someone must have botched. I would have just gone home $20 poorer and forgotten the whole experience but the customer service we received was so rude for something that was their own mistake. Later that evening I had to take several Tums to fight the heartburn that I got from their food.

Came for the food, stayed for the vibe. Had the vodka parm, fish sando, and a few cocktails. Everything was perfectly seasoned and prepared. The vibes and coziness of the space were top tier as well. 10/10. Run, don’t walk to Small Fry.

Google
Small menu, but everything here is incredible! The chicken sandwich has so many flavors. The fish cake is more than just fish as it has scallops and shrimp and is also incredible. Even the fries are still good after you take them home because they are too much to eat after you finish your sandwich. Definitely worth a try!

Yelp
Small restaurant (hence the name) but great service and good food I ordered the vodka parm sandwich and you could tell they use high quality chicken and breading. It was crispy and juicy, covered with a vodka sauce and burrata (YUM) on a bun with pistachio pesto. The pesto could have been ground up a bit more and it could have used more salt but was a killer sandwich I wish the outside seating wasn't the tiny wooden ikea patio sets like those chairs hurt for real

Yelp
I wanted to like this place.Went on a Saturday at bit before seven when there was a concert at the Eastern, but there was still room at the small bar to sit. Service was relatively quick to get my drink, which was basically a take on a gin and tonic. Drink was fine and about normal price for a cocktail in the area. Food, on the other hand....I decided to get a hot dog (they fry them, so they call them rippers on the menu). 8 bucks for a Nathan's and a basket of fries, but okay, it is a restaurant and not a hot dog cart. Onions are a dollar extra (and the only extra topping listed). Fine, I guess. Maybe they're the Sabrett onions since you're doing a ripper style. Combining the open kitchen staff as well as the bartender/servers/manager, there were about equal numbers of customers as staff. There weren't a ton of online takeout orders being set up that I could see, and only about four other people ordered some fries while I was there. And it still took an hour for the hot dog to get to me. Only condiments on the table are ketchup, malt vinegar, and hot sauce (Fierelli), and the server walked off before I could even ask if they had mustard (looks like it is an option on the online menu) or napkins. I searched the bar and found the one napkin dispenser around the corner, grabbed the last two that were in the dispenser, and went back to my seat. Nobody came by, so I went on and ate my hot dog with a little bit of hot sauce. It was fine, but for a regular-sized hot dog that's already eight bucks, a few thin sliced onions for a dollar extra seems kind of a lot. The fries are fine. They're on with the beef tallow trend, if you or someone with you is vegetarian, you're SOL (It looks like there is an option on the online menu to say no beef tallow, but that would be a nice thing to check with when taking the order or list on the physical menu). They basically taste like McDonald's fries with some pepper on them. Some people love that, but I was underwhelmed. There's also an add-on option for truffle oil and parm because of course there is. I want to be clear that the staff were actually nice and friendly -- Nobody was rude in the least -- but things just took forever. Maybe I got there after a big rush and there were some things they had to handle. When I sat down, some folks next to me were getting their burgers, and the burger did look good. And, my drink was pretty good as well. I'll probably give the place another shot and try something else since it's so close, but I won't be in a rush.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I fear Philadelphia has ruined how I enjoy sandwiches, wraps, gyros, hoagies, you name it, for possibly as long as I live. So, I was looking forward to trying Small Fry after stumbling upon their IG a few weeks ago because I love chicken Caesar wraps and haven't had a decent one in years - thanks Atlanta! (Not a decent hoagie either, for that matter.) And the CCW is one of their most promoted items. Well, I was in the neighborhood, starving, and said "omg today's the day." Dragged my friend to Small Fry and he ordered the Vodka Parm, and I, the CCW, of course. We decided to share his fries. Small Fry uses balsamic chicken in their CCW which was intriguing to me. It is very forward in the wrap, which I didn't mind - it's a nice flavor with the red onions + sourdough croutons. However, my main gripe (and it's a major gripe) is that there is little to no Caesar dressing in the wrap. To the point that I thought MAYBE they forgot to add it? I included photos of wrap and you let me know if you think any Caesar dressing was present. My main issue is that it's a *Caesar* chicken wrap, so why would I have to question whether Caesar is included? I had to ask for TWO extra dipping cups of dressing and did feel judged by the servers but I'll let the pics speak for themselves. They also charged a $1 extra for the side of dressing but I want yall to be real with yourselves about why the romaine lettuce is not noticeably tossed in the Caesar dressing before wrapping. By the way, the chicken is cold. (Just in case you were thinking it's fresh off the grill.) Anyway. My friend gave his vodka parm a 6.8/10. He said the vodka sauce was the highlight. The fries are tasty but very thin and crispy, so you have to eat them while hot or they lose their appeal. A few FYIs: Indoor seating is limited and it's only bar seating. There are tables outside but we all know the heat has been unbearable this summer so keep this in mind. Public Parking garage available, 2 hrs for $8, etc. The vibe is relaxed, casual, modern, and the music is nice. Everybody there is minding their business and just grabbing a quick bite. Takeout seems common here. All in with 20% tip, the bill came to $50 which is a little steep [for sandwiches] to not be blown away. I'd like to come back to try the burger or the fish sando but I can't say I'll be running back.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my quick visit to small fry today. From service to food everything was great. I will say the bathrooms being outside was weird. But it's a small space so there wasn't enough room I guess. I wouldn't come here with a big party unless you plan to be outside in the plaza. Think barstool only seating I tried the Fish Sando, you can add caviar for $15 but they were all out today. It was all for the best anyway I think the brine of the caviar would have made this too salty. It came with shoe string fries. If you're vegetarian or vegan these fries are tossed in beef tallow. To me it didn't add any beef flavor so I was surprised to read that on the menu. But they were delicious and rich. Try everything with the firelli hot sauce if you like spice (Chef's kiss). Follow the signs for retail parking and then come back outside and turn to the right. Once you walk down the block it's in the same plaza as El Malo. A large black building you can't miss. I'll definitely be back again.

Yelp
Stopped in here before a concert at The Eastern. Usually places like this... near a concert, attached to a hip apartment building, are terrible. Totally different. Service was pretty fast despite the crowd, food came out quick. Mussels were absolutely massive (as was the serving size), perfectly cooked, lots of fresh garlic, sauce was spicy without being too blazing hot, and extremely well-priced despite being Atlanta and in a hip area and next to a concert venue. Wish I could get it this good in Charleston! I know the draw here is the fried foods but I wanted something lighter and glad I picked Small Fry. Desserts looked awesome too, but trying to watch my calories tonight. J.Ja

Yelp
Yay for more places opening up around the Atlanta dairies!! Small fry is adorable. Warning it's a small spot so we opted for to go and just sat in the courtyard which was a grab vibe and they do let you take your drinks to go... I got the MPC to drink which my one complaint was too much coconut crème but it was still good. I wanted the watermelon cooler but they were out. We got some of the polenta sticks also which were delicious and covered in parm. I got the fish cake sandwich to eat and wow. Maybe not the best comparison but take a filet o fish and like upscale it by 100. Stunning. Well seasoned and a great blend of fish. The fries were the best I love the shoe string and well seasoned with a hefty portion Delicious meal and hope it gets more popular!!

Yelp
stood at the register for waiting for a about 10 before anyone came to help me order.... mind you it's an open layout so the workers in the kitchen can clearly see you in their peripheral. Caesar salad wrap was mid.

Yelp
Small Fry is such a vibe! It's a small space but don't let that fool you because this place is special. They only have bar seating throughout the restaurant. They offer handhelds sandwiches, fried platter baskets and other more known Italian dishes. They also had a wonderful cocktail menu though we didn't partake this time around. From the decor to food, this place is it. I ordered the wedge salad (which was big enough to share between 2-3 people) and a side of truffle fries. The salad was beautifully presented and my favorite was the crunch bits of pepperoni? The fries were fried to perfection but added with the truffle oil was chef's kiss. The staff checked in on us throughout and were very friendly. I can't wait to come back here for more!

Yelp
Tasty! And I hope to see a successful restaurant in the Atlanta Dairies once again... A friend and I shared the wedge salad and the chicken parm sandwich with fries. The wedge salad was definitely the highlight. It's a unique take on the wedge with a creamy ranch dressing AND some marinara and Parmesan plus pepperoni croutons. It's also massive and can definitely make a meal with a protein. The sandwich was pretty good - we made it spicy for an extra $1, and that added good flavor. The bread probably could have been a little more flavorful. The fries are very skinny shoestring and quite crispy. We were there for a weekday lunch, so it wasn't very full - it was VERY loud. The seating is mostly stools around the bar and a few outdoor seats (but it's pollen season). The service was efficient but nothing super special. It would have been nice if they did the little things like providing share plates and refilling water without requests, so I'm not sure how it would be on a busy service time. All in all definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Cute little spot at Atlanta dairies! It's pretty small - mostly just bar seating with a few other window tables. The menu is small but everything on it seems to be fab. We got the vodka parm and the fishcake sando. Both were great, but the fishcake was our favorite of the 2! Loved the shoestring French fries as well. The portions are big so come hungry or split with a friend!

Yelp
Fish sandwich was terrible. Tasted nothing like it looks. Really disappointed. McDonald's fish sandwich is way better

Yelp
Food and service was a great! I would recommend it to a sandwich lover! I will be back to try other items

Yelp
If you enjoy bland food, this place will do the trick. My girlfriend and I saw an instagram video of someone coming here and ordering the food and man it looked delicious, however, the food wasnt as good as it looked. The chicken breading was falling off the chicken, the flavor was bland, and the fish sandwiches just werent good. The fries were good tho. I hope they see this review to make some improvements! Oh and btw they have a service charge to just order foodbeware of that!

Yelp
Get here before this place gets discovered. OMG y'all, this place is sooo good. Easily up there with Hattie B's and Fox Bros on the East side. We had the Fish Sando, Vodka Parm, and wedge salad. The fish sandwich was the highlight. It's what every filet of fish aspires to be. (Like I aspire to be a super model when working out.) in close second place is the wedge salad. It's got a nice blue cheese and spicy flavour to it. The Vodka Parm was very good if a little dry. The shoestring fries, which come with sandwiches are also very good. The seating is limited so definitely not for groups and on a busy night (which will soon be all of them) you could easily get shut out. Complaints: call them sandwiches not "sandos," and the tip for counter service should not start at 20% but those are minor complaints for this awesomeness.

Yelp
We came late night for the smash burgers and they did not disappoint this lil spot is perfect for after or before a night out. Portions are big and the fries were so good. The service was attentive and kind! We'll be back.

Yelp
Small fry is such a cute little place. It's tucked in the corner in the corner next to 3 taverns. They have a small menu which is perfect for the size. I had the chicken tenders, the fish sandwich, and a slice of cake. The fish sandwich is good, very thick. The chicken tenders had amazing breading and was very crunchy. The fries were fries, nothing special. The cake changes weekly daily I believe, I had some sort of raspberry chocolate cake. I've never had that combination before and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was 10/10 and the person working was very attentive. I would recommend this place to others!

Yelp
Nice little spot near the front entrance of the Eastern. Staff was nice, food was excellent, and drinks were on point. I got the fish sando which is not my go to normally but I am glad I got it. The fries are also extremely good as were the mussels.

Yelp
The sauce!!!!!!!!!!! the chilli mayo NEEDS to be their signature sauce. It's a must get and top attraction in the ATL
