Small Fry has a short menu full of perfectly fried foods - Review - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Reynoldstown’s Small Fry is a tiny restaurant serving up delicious fried foods, and they commit to the bit without extra fuss. The equally tiny menu is concentrated on battered, breaded, and oil-cooked favorites—an incredible fried fish sandwich, a chicken parm sandwich that should model for Vogue, crunchy yet juicy shrimp, and of course thin-cut fries, which are well-seasoned and impossible to stop eating. And there’s also a lone wedge salad (for balance, you know?). But we'd say ignore it because once you bite into the salty goodness that awaits here, your shoulders may relax, serotonin levels may spike, and the compact atmosphere starts to open up. And at that point, we don't mind who's sitting (very close to us) on the next bar stool, as long as they don't try to steal one of our fries. photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair Pause Unmute Food Rundown Fishcake Sando With a menu full of fried things, you may not want to order everything, but this one is unskippable. A crab-cake-like patty of ground cod, scallops, and shrimp sits on a buttery bun drenched in a tangy tartar sauce and melty american cheese. Tail-On Shrimp Basket Everything here is fried to perfect and these six plump shrimp are a gold-star example—just the right amount of crispy while staying moist on the inside. The shoestring fries on the side are well-seasoned, and it’s nearly impossible to eat just one. Vodka Parm This giant fried chicken sandwich is dressed up to the T with tangy vodka sauce, a layer of melted burrata, and a nutty pesto. With a big soft bun and crunchy coating, it reminds us of a mix between Southern-fried and Italian parm. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Fritto Misto These lightly fried shrimp and calamari are paired with fried polenta giving a variety of textures while still staying true to the fried theme. They’re the best handheld option for sharing, too. Carrot Cake With all due respect to cannolis (the main dessert on the menu), this carrot cake is what you should order. It’s spongy and moist with a few candied pecans and a smear of sweet cream cheese frosting on top. The cakes rotate each week, so stalk their IG to see when it returns." - Juli Horsford
