Yelp
We came here after learning about them from Carnivorish on IG. We are clean eaters and find it nearly impossible to eat out without being poisoned, so needless to say, we were PUMPED about 100% grass fed burgers and wagyu tallow fries! WHAT! That's something to get excited about.
Although the intention is for a "seed oil free" experience (as advertised), after visiting and ordering, I'm not sure why they half ass their "clean" dining experience.
I'm gluten-free so asked what ingredients are in the GF bun... among many other garbage ingredients, CANOLA oil was listed. Ok, fine, you don't source GF buns without canola oil... I can understand that's hard to find (but not impossible).
But American "cheese" (not real cheese) on all burgers, plus condiments of ketchup and Mayo with both high fructose corn syrup and soybean oil... wtf is going on here?!
I feel like this company is opening themselves up to a lawsuit for false advertising. I'd imagine most consumers aren't as educated as I am about food and making sure to read the ingredients. Based on the way Smash Bros markets "grass fed" and "no seed oils", I'm sure most people assume everything served there is seed oil free. NOT THE CASE!
I really tried to understand their concept and be open-minded since it looks like they are a classic burger joint serving the traditional diner foods, only with an upgrade of higher quality beef and fries fried in beef tallow. But it just seems incredibly contradictory to not go all the way. Why not invest in quality cheese, avocado oil based mayo, organic ketchup without high fructose corn syrup, etc.? Your customers would pay for it, and consumers want this type of food more than ever.
We really really wanted to love this place, but will not be back. Just another disappointing meal out knowing I can make it better for a quarter of the cost at home. I truly hope you take this review as constructive feedback and do better. Raise your prices to reflect the quality, people will pay for it!
