"Let’s be honest: the patio is most of the reason why we go to Smoky Rose. This spot across from the Arboretum serves up barbecue dishes, comfort food, and a family-friendly vibe. There are twinkle lights out over the patio, which holds a bar and covered and less covered seating to serve all kinds of weather. Sample some fried chicken and waffles for brunch or a decadent brisket cheddar melt for lunch with a craft cocktail by the fire pit. Valet in the tight lot here is a must." - Rachel Pinn, Courtney E. We love this place! It has an amazing atmosphere, great beer, awesome staff, and good food! There’s tons of outdoor seating and tons of trees to keep us cool when it’s sunny. The brisket tacos are a little dry. The ribs are really delicious!

I’ve been coming to Smokey Rose for quite some time. Let’s just say, the experience from start to finish is always a 10/10. From the complimentary valet, to the service, to the taste of the food. Lisa was great and attentive although she suffered from a knee injury. She checked on us often and gave great recommendations. She even continued to check on us AFTER we paid the bill. I’ll always ask for her now! Also, we loved the brisket quesadillas and brisket-queso nachos. The margaritas were great too. Even the beans on the side were great to me.

The service here is beyond terrible. I waited forever just to be acknowledged, and when I finally placed my order, the waitress never introduced herself, never checked on the table, never cleared the plates—nothing. It felt like we were completely invisible. The food took an eternity to arrive, and when it finally did, it wasn’t even worth the wait. My sandwich was dry, flavorless, and honestly, a complete disappointment. At that point, I was just ready to leave, but even getting the check was a struggle—I had to ask multiple servers before someone finally brought it. This place is a joke. Poor service, long waits, and mediocre food? No thanks. With all the great spots in Dallas, there’s no reason to waste your time here.

Great place to eat lunch after morning visit to the Dallas Arboretum. The deviled eggs were a fun appetizer. The Half Meat Board (serves 2-4) was plenty for 4 adults. We took our leftovers home. The sides (potato salad, green beans and cole slaw) were good and so were all the meats. I highly recommend the Smokey Rose and want to go back next opportunity.

Google
I got a blood orange mule as the drink. The taste was good but I think it was barely touched with alcohol, which is frustrating! For food, I got brisket tacos, the brisket quality was fine and the portion was enough. However, I think taco fans do not see a tortilla filled with brisket as a taco! The price was a little high in my view (more than $70 for 2 people). Apart from that, I should mention that it they made a great atmosphere and I think it’s a good place ti hangout.

We had our office christmas lunch here and everyone said their food was great. The brisket queso was delicious!

I am SO GLAD my friend and I checked this place out because it’s phenomenal. Super easy and free (I did tip) valet, a huge, gorgeous patio area that’s dog friendly, and an “inside” area that’s still a bit outside, but I’m sure dogs are kept out of. The live music and service was great. The food and cocktails were wonderful! I will definitely be back.

Anna S.

Yelp
Food, service, and atmosphere AMAZING! Valet was TERRIBLE! Waited for 25 mins for our car in the cold. People came after us but got their car before us. When our car finally came the valet was yelling at us to come get it but we were already walking to the car! I will return to Smoky Rose but I will park somewhere else to avoid the Valet mess!

Yelp
Smokey Rose is Southern BBQ done right. The restaurant is located across from the Botanical garden, making it a great destination to stop by after a visit. The space feels like a large enclosed patio that's thoughtfully designed to create a fine dining experience that's homey and chill. We ordered a 1/2 board of meats which were some of the best cuts I've had. The turkey was surprisingly our table's favorite-- perfectly tender, seasoned and cooked. The short- rib was a close second, and brisket! They were all incredibly mouth-watering. We ordered a few small side dishes: fried okra, pinto beans, green beans, mash potatoes, and collard greens. They were all spot on. The collard greens could have went a tad less salty but the rest were perfect. Our waiter, Patrick was friendly and super attentive. There was also a live musician playing while we dinned which made for a beautiful Southern dining experience.

Yelp
Ambiance very NICE! Beautifully decorated for the holidays. 5 STARS Drinks- My cocktail was delish! 4 STARS Service was decent. Food came out hot and fast. Presentation was good. 3 STARS Food was just ok. It was very bland and just about everything needed seasoning. A little salt and pepper goes a long way! I chose the two meat combo with ribs and chicken. The BBQ sauce was AMAZING. The meat lacked flavor. The ribs were grilled nicely, but didn't taste like anything. The coleslaw was delicious. It was my favorite thing and it was a side. It was full of flavor. The collard greens were blah. 2 STARS Overall decent experience. I was glad to try it once since I have driven by it on several occasions. Valet parking is free, but mandatory. I didn't like that there was no self parking at lunch and it wasn't super crowded.

Yelp
Food - was pretty good. We got the brisket tacos with beans and rice. However, for appetizers let me suggest the Burn Ends. They are worth the trip on their own. Service - was very good, too. No complaints here. Amviance - very nice. Most seating is outside, and the decor feel was nice.

Glory N.

Yelp
The food is very good! I had the burger and fries. Service was quick and staff is very polite. The outside/Patio seating was very nice and inviting.

Kirkland B.

Yelp
I used to love this place, but they have no problem canceling your reservation with only 2 days notice when they get a last minute request for a large party from SMU and need to bump you in order to accommodate them. So, think twice before you invite someone meaningful to dinner there. You might get bumped if they can get more money from someone else.

Mike N.

Yelp
This place was awesome. Perfect fusion of BBQ and Tex-Mex, two of the greatest varieties of food ever. They have a huge outdoor patio with a cool vibe, and the interior is really nice too. The service was a little slow, but we went during an off time. The brisket queso, brisket tacos, and pulled pork quesadillas were amazing. This is the perfect spot for lunch after a day at the nearby arboretum.

Anna C.

Yelp
We had a great time coming here after walking around the arboretum. I especially liked the avocado blt (without the bacon) which came with a lot of salmon. Great portion sizes as can be seen with the nachos! Highly recommend the Smokey Rose cocktail! We loved sitting by the fire and seeing all the flowers in the spring! Everyone here was so friendly and helpful!

Yelp
smoky rose is definitely a neighborhood staple. i really like smoky rose, but there is a lot of inconsistency with the food. i've been to smoky rose a dozen times over about two years and i've seen so many changes. 1st the there used to be 3 tacos with a taco order, now there is only 2 tacos. but the same cost as 3 tacos. 2nd the loaded baked potatoes were gigantic, now they are about half the size the used to be... but the same price they have been. i also used to be able to sub the meat for mac n cheese. now they wont allow that substitution. and although i order the potato w/o meat nor a substitution... they still charge as if there is meat on the potato. absolutely absurd 3rd the dr. pepper cake is different every single time i visit. sometimes it's one layer.. sometimes it's two layers.. sometimes it's very rich.. sometimes it's dry. i would just like some consistency around these things. the potato & fish taco situation is what bothers me the most. the service is always chill. the servers get things out quickly and are attentive. i really like sitting outside in the evening, its a great atmosphere. i also, think they have live music sometimes... but ive never been able to catch it.

Emma W.

Yelp
This restaurant is so cute! We went in the middle of a rain storm but we're still able to eat under the covered patio. I wish we could have eaten in the gardens because the space is huge! The food is a great mix of Mexican and BBQ, so something for everyone. Our server was very attentive. I recommend the pork BBQ sliders and the Mac & cheese. The quesadillas were a little spicy if you're not into that. Peach cobbler was just okay.

Deena S.

Yelp
Very cute restaurant! We were able to walk in for lunch for 2 on a weekend. The food was pretty good. I recommend trying the brisket queso - delicious! Can probably share with 3-4 people. I tried the brisket enchiladas but I wish I'd gone for the brisket tacos. The enchiladas were very filling but not really tasty. There seems to be a good amount of seating and there were several groups there so seems to be good for that. Do recommend making a reservation for large parties unless you're willing to wait. The service was excellent.

Kimberly D.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was spectacular, our young waitress was a GEM! She was only 19 and was just perfect. The ambiance of this place was a whole VIBE! I LOVE it!! They have a large outside seating area as well as a beautiful inside area.

Dan S.

Yelp
I went here for my friend's birthday and enjoyed the food a lot. The brisket queso had a lot of flavor and had to take the rest to go since they give a lot! The steak was very tender and juicy...did not need sauce. The mashed potatoes and rice were great complimentary sides. Our server kept checking in on us and made sure our waters were full. The valet people were nice and polite. I recommend this place!

Amanda R.

Yelp
I really liked this place. The patio is super cute and clean. The food was delicious. Meat was moist and fell off the bone. They brought out a fan to keep flies away from our food. The only thing that I didn't understand is that we had to go up and order at the bar, but people after us had service at their tables? Not sure why we were treated differently.

Talika B.

Yelp
I discovered this place on a humble. I made reservations. The menu look amazing. We took a Uber and arrived there with no issues. Walked in and was in awe. The place is so cute as you can see from the pics and video. The inside is even cuter. The flower wall at the entrance is a photo op for sure. The food is soooo good. I had the turkey the wings and Mexican rice. And to drink the strawberry crush.z I finished it with the banana pudding. It was hell of good, I wish I would have ordered 2 of them. lol. Our waitress Carmen was awesome. If you are in Dallas please as a must stop by Smokey Roses. Thank me later ....Cheers!!!!

Yelp
Had an opportunity to visit Smoky Rose for the first time for a wedding reception. My experience was better than I expected when I saw the reviews on here, but there are definite areas of opportunity. The wedding reception was held in their outdoor covered patio area. The area was warm and the ac and fans struggled to keep the area comfortable in close to 100 degree Texas weather. The worse part was the abundance of flies inside the covered patio. It really detracted from the experience. The food on the other hand was good. The appetizers included chips with queso & guac and deviled eggs. I was a bit concerned about the eggs in the heat, but they held up well and were very tasty. The entrees included brisket, sausage, chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and Cesar salad. The brisket was the star of the show; it was cooked well and the smoke flavor really came through. The sausage was overcooked and was the least favorite. What really showed through was the service. Service all around was excellent, from the bar tenders to the servers. Considering that we had a large group, I never had to wait long for a drink and plates and tables were cleared efficiently after each course. Overall the experience was a good one. I don't think the barbecue will blow you away, but the service and atmosphere make up for some of the areas that need improvement.

Izzie P.

Yelp
Food was ok. Nothing special for BBQ. Nice vibes, went in December and the fire pits were really nice. Food came out cold so that wasn't the best. Fried oakra and green beans were the best part of the meal. Server also had a 15+ table so it was in and out, but not bad.

Grace L.

Yelp
Came here right after walking through the Dallas Arboretum. We were a party of 17. Parking- Valet parking only in their parking lot. There are a few handicap parking spaces. Service- since we were a big group, it's one check if we're over 12 people. 20% gratuity if it's more than 8. Alejandro was our waiter. Excellent service. Got all our orders correct and made us all laugh while doing it. Food -Chicken Fried Brisket: it was an original idea but without the chicken fried is even better - Brisket Sandwich: plenty of meat - Nachos & Queso chips were all great, just the right combination of toppings - Brisket tacos- came with 3, could only eat 1.5 tacos very filling. Came with baked beans and rice as sides. - Fish tacos: this was average, the fish was fried and the pickled cabbage had too strong of a vinegar base. - Lizzy's salad: perfect level of dressing; BUT the toppings of tomatoes/cucumbers were sparse. Chicken was a bit dry. Avg dish. Return Factor- definitely would come back just because of how accommodating our server was.

George B.

Yelp
Mediocre is probably the best way to describe this place. The food is ok at best. The brisket sandwich was mediocre. The queso and brisket was just not worth it - dont get me wrong, the queso was good but there was literally 1oz of brisket. Not worth it when the brisket itself was not great, If you really want good bbq, head to Terry Black or literally anywhere else in town. Surprisingly, the smoked Turkey was not bad at all so if you are here i'd recommend that. Service is also mediocre. Servers are rushed and one server (i forgot to grab the name) was really rude and just didn't care of what is going on. We literally had to go find a server to pay the bill after sitting there for 20mins trying to catch one. The only thing going for them here is that they are near the Arboretum; the only restaurant as far as i can tell that is outside of the Arboretum. I wouldn't go back here as much as i can!

Mark M.

Yelp
We had dinner here our first night in the Dallas area. They have a massive outdoor seating area and had live entertainment the night we were there. The service was okay. It seem like it took a long time for refills on water and drinks. I got the special which was a cheeseburger that night. It was delicious. I got it with the french fries. The fries were basically frozen grocery store variety french fries. Definitely not a compliment to the hamburger at all. I tried some of the sides they had to offer and thought they were pretty much average. I thought the chicken wings we ordered for an appetizer were very good maybe they could have been a little bit more well done but they were tasty. Not sure if I would go back again the next time I am in Dallas though.

Heather D.

Yelp
Gorgeous place and delicious food. Every visit is as good as the last, and I love that kids (and pets) are welcome. Alejandro served us on our most recent visit, and he is a delight.

John J.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere. You can have self serve, table service, and a place for the kids to play. Lots of choices on the menu. My daughter had the chicken fingers which she has had several times before and raves about. I tried the half pound prime brisket, and it was pretty good, slightly dry. The fried okra was fantastic. I really couldn't taste the spice in the jalapeño hush puppies so they were a bit bland for me but perfectly cooked. Will definitely have to come back.

Kendall W.

Yelp
The whole experience was disappointing. Our reservation was clearly noted for indoor seating and we were told we had to set outside. The food was ok, but not terribly great. The grilled salad used the worst part of the head of lettuce only. The carne asada was ok, but the rice and beans were like they came from a box. The baked potato was good and the turkey BLT was ok. The bacon was way undercooked. The fries were good. The flies buzzing around the table were bothersome. Then when we left, the valet parking took forever to get our car and managed to lose two of our keys. It will take some time for me to want to go back.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Beautiful concept and even better food! I recently moved to Texas and this was one of the top recommendations from my local friends and family! We came for my birthday celebration and were served by Patrick. (10/10) great service! The food was spectacular and drinks equally as enticing. I reserved a table the evening before and had to ask specifics so I'll share with you: Cowboy means serve yourself and seating in an open yard with long picnic tables, yard has table and serves and patio is covered with servers! You won't regret giving this place a try!

Michele W.

Yelp
Fabulous patio dining experience and exceptional food! Unique bbq dishes, delicious sides, and a full bar! Service is always top notch here. Close to the arboretum.

Rita G.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast. I had the avocado toast. Perfectly prepared eggs and dynamite salsa along with the avocado. Bread perfect for the dish. Another stand out was the biscuit and gravy dish. Taste was devine. Others had the vegetarian omlets. Again, well prepared and delicious. Service exemplary!!

LaTondra L.

Yelp
Let me preface by saying I really wanted to like this place. My mom and best friend decided to try this place for 4th of July and I tagged along. It's right across from the arboretum, so great location. The offer valet (tips only) so be prepared. The outside ambience is really nice and even when it was 90+ outside it was nice and shady, we decided to eat inside though (A/C all day lol). Our server was nice overall, wasn't crowded as we arrived right at opening and he offered several suggestions for food. We decided on the following: brisket queso, deviled eggs, smoked wings, two meat combo (brisket & sausage), collard greens, green beans, and borracho beans. Queso would have been 5 stars but it came out lukewarm and got cold rather quickly. Cold queso? No thank you. Smoked wings had a great Smokey flavor; however, they were a little too salty for my preference. Greens, beans, and green beans were the stars of the lunch. Sausage was a huge NO, grainy/cereal texture and it was over cooked. Brisket was okay, I asked for moist and it was edible but definitely not the best I've had. Would I be back, not sure. But I do know what I would and wouldn't venture to try again!

K B.

Yelp
We ordered $150 of rib plates to go. There were no fries or slaw packed in the bag. Worse than that, the ribs were so overcooked, they were mostly inedible-couldn't chew them. We all had to spit out mouthfuls into our napkins. We won't be going back.

Fatima C.

Yelp
Great happy hour spot across the street from the Dallas Arboretum! Super affordable happy hour menu with delicious bites and drinks offered. You can easily spend $20-25 on a few drinks and apps between 3-6 during the weekday. On a Monday, it is not crowded during happy hour which made for a more enjoyable experience I bet than being here with the dinner rush. We ordered bbq sliders. The first order was extremely dry but then the second order was moist and utter perfection. Disappointed with the inconsistency here especially since we were not going to order a 2nd round after the 1st order. But happy we ordered another round after the drinks started to kick in. The Dr.Pepper bbq sauce had the perfect amount of sweetness that paired well with the chopped brisket and potato buns. The brisket queso tasted like it was made of the artificial cheese but it was still surprisingly good. I still suggest ordering it. Whatever you do, order the frozen Paloma. It is bomb!!!! The frozen lemonade was ok and strong :) Our waiter consistently checked on us after us ordering but she could have been more friendly and greeted us with specials, popular items, the happy hour menu...etc upon the first 10 min of us sitting. Fair warning: You will need to use valet even if you are the first 5 cars in the entire parking lot. If you takeout, you have to do valet.

Jerimiah R.

Yelp
Everything went well on todays visit on 11/17/2024. The food was great and nice employees who like to crack jokes. Would definitely recommend and come back Especially for the scenery and atmosphere.

LeShea B.

Yelp
Let me preface with had I not had to fight for me and my food's life, this would've been a 4 star experience. I do not recommend this restaurant for the warmer months. Flies. Flies everywhere. Bombarded with flies. Just search the word "flies" and you'll several reviews, ranging from 5-6 years ago. Now, I will say that management did listen and implement "fly fans" for tables to help combat the issue. Initially, we had one fly fan for the bar top. We increased that to 4, and I still had to use my hand to (not eat) but swat off additional flies. Before the food came out, we saw maybe 1-3 flies. Not a nuisance. AS SOON AS THE FOOD CAME OUT, the war began. Flies were flying under the fan, between the fans, etc. it's like they were hired to pester us. Maybe indoors would be better... I did see another review complaining about the flies indoors, too. Either way, I won't be back until the weather changes. Hopefully the flies will cease. Parking: complimentary, yet mandatory valet. There is a parking lot right there. Maybe it makes sense when it's busy. But I truly do not understand why valet is even an option there. To the service: we had a reservation for 7:45 for indoors because it was one of the hotter Texas days. They had no room available for 2, so they asked us and we said patio was fine. Big mistake. We were seated at a table for 2. We waited. And waited. No service. Then decided to sit at the bar, where my friend recognized a batender. He was very cool, and quick to serve. She ordered the Smokey Rose (drink). It's good, she's had it before. $11 July 2023 pricing. I had the blackberry mojito. The bartender told me it's best he make it from scratch, as the pre-made batch tasted like cough syrup. I ended up ordering 2 of those drinks. Very good. $10 each, but no buzz. If I did have an initial buzz from the first one, it was killed swatting away flies. The drink does not come with mint, and is served in a smaller glass- something not common for mojitos. But flavorful nonetheless. I would only reorder this drink if the same bartender was present. Food wise: My friend ordered the backyard chicken. It comes with baked beans and potato salad. She's ordered it before. The chicken, was decent. I liked the baked beans and potato salad. If I came here again, I wouldn't mind ordering this. I ordered the Smoky Rose nachos. They were good, but I spent so much of my energy swatting flies that I didn't fully enjoy it. The server from in house brought us boxes (we hadn't even asked for them) after 10 min of us trying to eat. I didn't finish, nor did my friend. I asked "Are you still hungry?" And she responded "yes" We covered our boxes with the cloth napkin.... When the food was put away, the flies calmed down dramatically. Again, try to sit indoors or come during the colder months. I recommend to the owner to try QuickStrike fly bait and someone to clean up on fly duty. Keep away from pets if the patio is pet-friendly. Although it's "indoors only" it has been used outdoors. If that doesn't work for the restaurant, something else needs to happen. I'm pretty sure they've tried things over the past 5-6 years hopefully... the fly fans just simply aren't the only solution.

Isela V.

Yelp
This location off Garland Rd. In front of the Dallas Arboretum stays quite busy, especially during the weekends and even more-so during sunny days. There outdoors patios and seating areas are huge and welcome large groups and are family friendly. The food is always on point. They have smoked meats and Tex-Mex dishes that are quite appetizing. There has been a significant change with their Staple drinks. They now use lots of premade and premixing and you can definitely tell that the quality has suffered. Also, they seem to have the same 'ol, same 'ol and I hardly ever see a seasonal drink or food item in their line up.

Matt N.

Yelp
See previous review and owners smartass response. Forced valet when my car is three feet away, way overpriced cold food, etc

Nety D.

Yelp
The environment is very fun with a nice outdoor and indoor area, however it can get busy and it heavily hurt their service. We barely saw our waitress and it took over 30 minutes for them to bring our drinks to the point we almost cancelled them. Food took a while too but ended up coming before the drinks. The food was good, but nothing crazy with there being better places in Dallas for similar price. Overall I do not think I would come back due to poor service.

Jeremy C.

Yelp
The food is spectacular and it's always super busy. I know our waiter was busy, but I had to stop him on three different occasions for refill on water. We were missing an item on our order, and I had to ask a different waiter to get our waiter for our bill. Parking is only by valet and that was an absolute nightmare. Be prepared to wait 25 minutes to get your car especially on the weekends. A party in our group had their keys lost. They had to wait almost an hour, and when they were annoyed, because of the fact, the manager was rude to them. Didn't offer anything for their trouble, but expected a tip, of course. I'm leaving a four star just from the food alone.

Christine L.

Yelp
I went to Smoky Rose for dinner with a large group. The waiter was very helpful and provided great service. 4 of us ordered the Half Board to share, and it was still so much food we could barely eat half of it! We also shared a Chicken Fried Brisket, and it was the craziest thing I've ever tasted! This was definitely worth trying, but I wouldn't recommend trying to eat an entire plate by yourself, it felt very heavy and fatty. Overall, I enjoyed the food and service here, would go back.

Andrew W.

Yelp
Smoky rose has an excellent location right by the arboretum and has an awesome patio area and is dog friendly! I've been here multiple times and the food is always very good. I recently was here for a birthday party and I ordered the hamburger of the day which turned out to be pretty good! The brisket queso is also a must get! Smoky rose never disappoints and I'll be back!

Dee L.

Yelp
I've been twice. First off, the barbecue wings are absolutely incredible--some of the best I've ever had. The service is solid, and the outdoor setting provides a nice, laid-back vibe. The guac was pretty good too. However, the drinks were a big disappointment. Each time, they were offensively weak, and for the price they're charging, it feels almost criminal to get such little alcohol. Our entire table was let down by the cocktails. Lastly, there were way too many flies, which really took away from the experience. Something definitely needs to be done about that. I'd come back, but only for takeout.

Bobby C.

Yelp
Sadly another disappointing experience tonight (7/13/24). Very disappointing all around. While the ambiance is great, the food was NOT good and the service was even worse. Where to begin... Food: The wings (which are normally one if the few things on menu that are consistently ok) were so tough it was hard to bite through them. Wings are hard to mess up and these were terrible. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she simply said I'm sorry and did not offer to comp them. Next, they forgot our order of fries; when we reminded them, the fries were brought out in a to go container when we were still in the middle of our meal. The waitress was standing at our table when the runner brought the fries out in a to go container - we then told them they were not to go and the runner just said "the fries are still in there" or something to that extent. And our waitress says nothing. Cobb salad: the chicken was so overcooked it was purple and hard to chew. Brisket tacos: brisket was chewy - not tender at all. Service: Our waitress acted pissed off when I changed my mind on my drink order. She consistently walked away before we were done ordering... probably on 5 different occasions throughout the evening. Was generally rude and had a bad attitude. I've said it before and I'll say it again: This place needs new management. This place has such a great location and atmosphere but the food is consistently bad. It used to be crowded on weekend nights and tonight was pretty empty and I see why.

Dani A.

Yelp
A classic spot in Dallas! I've come here with my family and friends throughout the years, and it hits the spot. Tex-Mex with a BBQ twist? Delicious. The owner typically checks in on your table and the service is good. On a summery day when it's not too hot the patio is a delightful place to eat.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Very cute place, service was amazing and the food was really good. I order the smoky rose nachos and it was worth it.

Lauren M.

Yelp
This place is really cute. Lots of seating indoor and the cutest outdoor seating. Huge patio with twinkle lights and antlers on every table. I got the two meat combo (brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage) with green beans. The sausage was extremely cheesy, almost to where I was wondering where the meat was. Also the green beans were really crunchy so if you like them that way this is your place. Great beer selection and cute theme. I thought the service was great too. It's valet only so bring cash. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Fabulous outside/inside patio. Great live music. Awesome service. The price was right. Did I mention the food was delicious?!?! Two in our party had had the 1/2 chicken with BBQ beans an potato salad. The other two had the shrimp tacos with buracho beans. We topped it off with Dr. Pepper sheet cake Yummmmm. We all left happy and walked it off at the Arboretum.

Yelp
Don't know what the food taste like due the flies swarming around. The Manager was like well you are outside No sir you will not do that The flies were so bad, it was as I was on farm with horses and cows. I had to send my food back, while others had to cover up their food with a napkin and fight the files to eat. Flies were landing on our heads, etc. Several food items were not received and/or wrong. On a good note the manager Dustin came back and comp the entire ticket. If you eat here just watch out for the flies

Yelp
In preparation for Christmas festivities at the Arboretum, I researched delicious restaurants in the area. Smoky Rose ranked high so we got a reservation and gave it a try! The reservation was handy but we were here at lunch on a Monday, so it wasn't crowded at all. At a different time, I would recommend a reservation. I'm a sucker for an adorably decorated establishment, and Smoky Rose was just that! The ambience was perfect and we enjoyed the space. While we opted to sit inside, the outdoor area was nice. My mother ordered the brisket with fries and hush puppies for her meal. All 3 items were delicious, with my favorite being the hush puppies. For my meal, I opted for the taco salad. While delicious, it took them 3 times to get my meal correct. I opted out of the beans, yet they left off everything and it came out to me just as chicken and lettuce. No other toppings. After 2 tries, I finally had all my toppings except the beans, which I did not want. I would love to come back here for dinner and try something a little heavier next time. Everything looked delicious as it was being brought out. Once finished, we took the short 3 minute walk to the arboretum. Great meal and will be back if ever in the area!

Yelp
Best Tex Mex ever. We went on a Saturday and sat outside. The brisket queso and brisket enchiladas were to die for.

Yelp
Nice casual spot to end a day at the Arboretum, walkable from the garage. Brisket and smoked turkey were awesome but a bit pricey for the portion (1/2lb). Collards and fried okra were good too. Mac and cheese is decent but not standout. Finished off with a nice piece of peach cobbler. Note: They charge you for the ice cream, which is a little petty because what's peach cobbler with no vanilla ice cream?! Staple cocktails were weak, more water than alcohol for sure. That's definitely a skip for next time. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere is great for good weather. Parking was valet only. We'll be back for sure but maybe next time I'll try a craft cocktail or stick with beer.

Yelp
The nachos were good! The service was ok, but we had a large party. Atmosphere was nice, I really enjoyed the vibe there.
