The 26 Best Restaurants in Anchorage, Alaska | Eater

"An always busy lunch restaurant in downtown Anchorage serving eggs, hash browns, French toast and pancakes, all with an Alaska flair in a bright modern-feeling atmosphere. On the menu, you’ll find snow crab in omelets, reindeer sausage in the scramble, and salmon cakes with eggs. The espresso is excellent, there’s a full kids menu, and the restaurant sells beer and wine. Breakfast and brunch reservations are highly recommended during tourist season, especially before noon, though if you’re a single or a couple you may be able to slip in at the bar." - Julia O'Malley

"My first day in downtown Anchorage, I took in lunch at Snow City Cafe. As soon as I entered, I knew I was going to love this place. The ambience is created by an eclectic mix of part diner, part espresso bar, part bakery. The walls are covered with fascinating photos of dogs from sled teams, along with the names of their mushers. Although I could seriously eat bacon every day, I know my doctor would not appreciate that, so I rarely do. However, nearly every time I sit down to a meal in a cafe that serves breakfast all day, I get the exact same thing: two eggs over easy, bacon, potatoes, wheat toast, and an enormous amount of Tabasco. That was my plan for this meal, but after looking at the menu, I decided to order two eggs over easy, hash browns, and wheat toast and substitute Snow City’s housemade salmon cakes for the bacon - this is Alaska after all - and I couldn’t be happier that I did. The hash browns were amazing, as well – I don’t know what their secret ingredient is, but whatever it is, it’s working. I love to include photos of the people working in an establishment whenever I can, but the cafe was packed and I was unable to pull anyone from their duties. They were busy taking care of customers, and you have to appreciate that. We had a 35-minute wait and it was well worth it. If you’re ever in Anchorage, Snow City Cafe needs to be one of the first stops you make. By Steve Cook"

We stopped in for breakfast and it did not disappoint! I wanted the biscuits and gravy and the stuffed French toast and couldn’t decide. Our waiter was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. He suggested doing a half order of each! It was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend got the crab omelette it was sooo good! A friend ordered pancakes and it was massive and they accommodated him wanting peanut butter and honey with it. The other friend ordered the Kodiak eggs Benedict with crab cakes. Also delicious! Would highly recommend! JAMIN was our waiter his whole vibe was so awesome! Made us feel right at home!!

Google
We were welcomed in with "Welcome friends, is this your first time here?". That was wonderful right off the bat. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant and the service was right there with it. I had ordered smoked salmon eggs benedict and it was pretty good! Everything with it was exactly as someone may expect. They also have a hot sauce bar filled with many different kinds of sauces to try. I'd like to come back some time and try their other menu items at some point for sure.

Google
Fantastic brunch spot! The wait was fairly long, but we were added to a digital wait list which gave us extra time to walk around downtown Anchorage. Once seated, the food was top notch! I chose the half and half benedicts (you can choose which two!) and I included the crab cake benedict and regular benedict. Our waiter Shane was great and made us feel very welcomed from the time we sat down. Highly recommend giving this spot a try but be sure to build in extra time to your schedule for the wait.

Google
The food here is absolutely delicious! I had the biscuits and gravy, and they were easily one of my all-time favorites—definitely in my top 10. My husband tried the crab cakes, which were incredibly tasty. The meat was very fresh and perfectly seasoned. There can be a bit of a wait when you arrive, but it’s 100% worth it. If you’re in the area, you must stop by!

Google
The espresso machine did not work at the time I arrived, bad service… big disappointment. Menu is extensive. Staff was wonderful but I only gave a 4 star because the hours of the restaurant. In summer with massive tourists, I think it would be appropriate to open at 6am (or even 5am?) instead of 7am, and the wait to be seated was long.

Alicia Gettis

Google
I'm so glad we finally made it in to this place. We tried to get her last year but we didn't know the wait was so long. This year we KNEW and signed on the wait list before spending an hour wandering downtown. It was worth the wait. It's crowded, colorful and loud. The staff was all friendly, especially Anika! The mimosa hit the spot and the Benedict was PERFECTION. My brother had the French toast and Irish Coffee and said it was delightful as well!

Google
Atmosphere – 4 stars Snow City Cafe is a busy and very popular breakfast and brunch destination in Anchorage. We waited just over an hour for a table, so I recommend scanning the QR code at the entrance or using the Yelp app to join the waitlist ahead of time. As a party of two, we were seated just inches from another table of two—close enough that it felt like we were sharing a table. It didn’t bother us, but others might find it a bit too tight. Despite the constant crowd, the restaurant was clean and had a vibrant, lively energy that added to the experience. Service – 4 stars Our server, Valor, did a great job—friendly, attentive, and on top of everything despite the busy pace. Food – 4 stars The menu offers a great mix of traditional breakfast items and creative local twists. I started with a Raspberry Dream—an iced white chocolate mocha with raspberry syrup—which was delicious. We also had the fried egg sandwich with bacon, red onion, cheddar cheese, and a house-made herb mayo on toasted sourdough. The bacon was thick and crispy, and the flavors worked really well together. The side of hashbrowns was golden and tasty. We also tried the Ship Creek Eggs Benedict, made with salmon cakes and topped with homemade hollandaise sauce. It was rich, flavorful, and very filling. Overall Highly recommend Snow City Cafe if you’re not in a hurry. The food is excellent, service is great, and the atmosphere is upbeat. Just be prepared for a wait—it’s clearly a local favorite for good reason.

Google
Snow City is the best breakfast in town. During tourist season it’s mega packed on weekends and you might have to wait. One trick is that the counter is first come, first serve, so if it’s just you and one other person that’s a nice hack to cut the line. And it’s also less busy on weekdays. But anyway, the food is perfect. I like to get the omelettes. There are lots of vegan options, including Just Egg and Beyond sausage. They will customize anything to be vegan or vegetarian.

Yelp
Very cute place! It's just downtown, so just prepare for the parking to be limited! It was very busy, it was at the beginning of summer with all the tourists in, so that explains it) but our server was very nice and sweet! My husband accidentally spilled his water and they were prompt to clean it up and assured him it was no big deal The food was great! It felt like a home style breakfast, to which I enjoy! It was a lovely experience and we'd come back during the offseason when it's not as busy!

Yelp
The service is terrible, and the staff are always apathetic. Any time I order to-go at the counter I wait 30 minutes only to find out it been done and is already cold. They never announce when drink or food are done and cant even be bother to apologize about leaving it sitting there. 1/10 would not recommend .

Yelp
This is a staple for anyone visiting Anchorage. My party of four was sat right away on a Saturday morning. We were met with friendly staff who gave great recommendations of the menu, to include descriptions of the holiday menu. The food was fast, fresh and hit the spot!

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences in Anchorage. I absolutely love Snow City Cafe and would recommend it to everyone. I will definitely be back next time I visit Alaska!

Yelp
This is a very belated review but I stumbled across this picture from last August when I was cleaning up my camera roll and man it immediately made me drool so that tells you how much I enjoyed this meal. This was my first visit to Alaska so we ate inside where it was nice and warm, although there was also outdoor seating. I remember the staff was really lovely and attentive even though we were there close to the end of the morning rush.

Yelp
Really solid breakfast spot in Anchorage!! The restaurant has a dedicated waiting area and a spot for To Go Coffee and Pastries. It is quaintly decorated and feels really cozy. The staff were extremely friendly and eager to make sure we had a good meal, the waitress had made a mistake on my friend's order but quickly made up for it by quickly getting it to him. We ordered the following: 1) Nuevo Huevos (8.5/10) - This paired with hot sauce was surprisingly delicious! It was well made and the eggs weren't overcooked. 2) Heart Attack on a Plate (7/10) - This is your standard breakfast fare; hashbrowns with eggs, bacon, and cheese - topped with sour cream. If the wait isn't an hour long and we have ample time, I'd definitely return! This also makes my list of recommendations to anyone visiting Anchorage.

Yelp
After a little bit of a wait (we didn't have a reservation and it was Saturday morning so not surprised!) We were seated and had a super friendly server. The restaurant was very full and the servers did a great job at turning tables. I got a delicious egg white omelette and we shared the biscuits and gravy. I would come back and order the exact same thing again, that's how good it was. I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you are able to.

Yelp
My wife and I were in town for a vacation. We went here for breakfast, and we lucked out because they sat a table for two quicker than bigger parties. I had their crabcake benedict (I can't remember the name of the dish), my wife had their loaded hashbrowns. During this visit was my first time having a "sludge cup" (drip coffee with a double shot of espresso), I've always heard it described as a black eye. I really like potatoes, especially hashbrowns (even the frozen ones) and I got to say that their fresh hashbrowns were thick and crispy, probably some of the best hash browns I've ever had. Their food came out really quick, and their coffee was good. They also have a bunch of hot sauce options. It was a really heavy breakfast, also because I helped my wife finish her dish, but it was a good way to start the day.

Yelp
This is a very popular brunch spot in downtown Anchorage. We initially put our name down via the Yelp waitlist but managed to grab bar seating (first-come-first-served) before our estimated wait time. We got the polar bear bfast with blueberry pancakes and tundra scramble. We also got the cinnamon roll but that never came out. It wasn't an issue for us because we were too full by the end of the meal. Overall, the food and service were good, but it felt like any other brunch experience you could get elsewhere.

Yelp
Snow City Cafe is a great an popular breakfast spot in downtown anchorage. It's very busy and you should definitely get on the wait list online before showing up to reserve your spot so you don't have to wait their for 45 minutes or longer. You can check your place on the list online and head there when you're close. (Plus you'll get a text when your table is ready.) That's what we did and didn't have to wait at all once we were notified and arrived at the restaurant. If you do find yourself waiting there for a table, fear not, they offer coffee to people waiting to be seated which is fantastic. There are also games and sidewalk chalk to keep you busy. It's a fun spot with plenty to choose from for every diet. Vegetarian and gluten free items are labeled on the menu so you'll feel like a first class citizen if you have one of those diets. They're also very flexible - Everytime my wife asked a question that began with "can you..." the answer was always "yes." The drip coffee could have been stronger for my tastes...definitely a few steps above the "browned water" some places server, but I like a coffee that is so bold it slaps me in the face at the first sip. (I'm sure our server would have slapped me had I asked...she was VERY accommodating.) I had the 2 egg breakfast with a biscuit as my side. They also offer Beyond Sausage as an option for meat-free folks. The hashbrowns were among the most attractive I've seen, cooked all the way through albeit a little bit too oily on the inside. They cook their biscuits on the grill after baking - I prefer them just baked as they get a little too dense and greasy when you add the grill step. My wife really loved the veggie benedict she got. And we felt like we kept getting free upgrades...I had egg whites with my breakfast and they didn't charge us the printed charge for that. My wife ordered just half a benedict (Our server said they could "halve" anything which is a great option to have) - They brought her a full serving and only charged for the half. They also didn't charge for the biscuit upgrade as my bread option. My wife also really liked her decaf espresso and was happy to have a coffee drink suitable to her preferences. I wish they jams they brought with the biscuit didn't have sugar as the first ingredient...a nice house-made jam, or selection of jams beyond the one packet they brought (and maybe something just fruit based) would have been better. The pancakes we saw at another table looked out of control (huge and the person eating it confirmed they were delicious.) I'd give 4 stars to the food with 5 for the overall experience, attention to detail and general thoughtfulness exhibited.

Yelp
This highly recommended and highly anticipated eatery in Anchorage truly is worth the wait. Highly recommend waking up early and booking on the app. I would definitely make sure you be patient, it's so worth it. The coffee is so tasty and so readily poured. They even have all sorts of latte's and fancier drinks. The service here is stellar, and the menu makes it easy for everyone to get what they want! I love being able to the half & half, and was so happy with the Ship Creek and Kodiak - wow. Really tasty salmon cakes and red king crab cakes, AK made. The hollandaise sauce was SO tasty and velvety. Since we went closer to lunch, I got the clam chowder. Yum! It was very silky and full of so much clam meat. It was heaven. This place was so great, I got some coffee on the way out! Awesome through and through!

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, and great service! If I'm ever in town I'm definitely stopping back by!

Yelp
Snow City was overhyped to me. I don't think Alaska has very many food choices, so maybe this is as good as it gets. We ordered to go on a Wednesday 8 am morning and the wait for the food ended up being about 30 min though they told us 10 min. The restaurant was already packed with a 40 min wait time by 8 am! No one really knew how long it was taking which was kind of annoying. Turns out they actually text you when the food is ready, which the employees didn't tell us when I asked for a status update twice. The eggs benedict on Canadian bacon was not very good at all, 3/5. It was drenched in hollandaise. I wasn't a fan of the hash brown side (prefer home fries). My husband got the Fourth Avenue Special sandwich, which was really good.
google avatar

Christopher O.

Yelp
So while on a fishing trip I was excited to try this place. Being from Fort Worth, Tx there are only one or two spots like this there. But it is definitely worth going. The place had a 30 minute wait on a Wednesday morning and I understand why now. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very laid back. I got the Cluck Norris (omelette style) and the chicken apple sausage was really well balanced with the white cheddar cheese. My drip coffee was very good too. My father got the Cowboy Meatloaf Sandwich with the pesto pasta salad. The pesto on the pasta salad was very good and fresh with great flavor. The Meatloaf sandwich had a lot of flavor including a smoky element which I wasn't expecting but was a nice surprise. This meal was a great way to end a fishing trip. Super glad we came here.

Yelp
Snow City Cafe is a great little cafe with great drinks and food. We arrived at 2 pm and still had to wait about 15 minutes to get a seat. The staff work well together and the food was delicious. The stuffed French toast was just delicious. The last time we had something like this, it was at a small cafe outside of Zion National Park. Unfortunately that cafe is no longer around but the stuffed French toast brought back fond memories. I would order this again and again. Being in Alaska, I wanted to try the reindeer sausage so I ordered one of the omelettes that had it. Overall it was very mild and tasty as it's mixed with beef and pork. We also ordered hot and cold coffee drinks and they were perfect accompaniments with the meal. Lastly, we ordered their sticky pecan bun. It was great, not too sweet and the pecans were crunchy. We would have liked to have the cinnamon morning bun but they were sold out so we have something to try next time (and we will have an opportunity again at the end of the trip).

Mary Jeneverre S.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. I love the crabby omelet - it was oozing with cheese and crab at every bite. I'm so excited they offered matcha latte - it was a great way to wake up. The service was outstanding. We observed our waitress juggling numerous tables all at once but we did not have to wait long for our food. The decor is cute. Lots of local art hung up on the wall. Some of the art were absolutely awesome! The wait list was one hour long but we signed up for the online wait list concurrently when we requested an UBER. By the time, we arrived at the restaurant, we were number #5 for a party of four. We only waited for 15 minutes outside the front entrance. The restaurant does not have a big waiting lobby.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Street parking. Sign up on the wait list before going to save you time. Delicious food. Nice customer service. They need to invest in a better bathroom system.
google avatar

Carrie G.

Yelp
We often don't come by snow city because it is so busy. However, I was craving their stuffed French toast and it did not dissapppint. I think it was stuffed with raspberry cream, but I think sometimes it's orange? Not sure. It is delicious either way. They have an online waitlist now, they don't take reservations. We added our name to the list and by the time we got downtown we only waited a few minutes to be seated.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Make sure you join waitlist! We ordered the stuffed French toast and a breakfast burrito. Both had great flavor. Typical brunch spot. I'd return and try other items :) gender neutral restrooms are available
google avatar

Jeannette W.

Yelp
I came because of the Obama factor. So did everyone else. Wait was very long because the place is so popular. But if you can spare the time, it was good hearty comfort food. I was very excited about my root beer float.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
There was about an hour and a half wait so I joined the wait list, which is nice to have that feature. The place was packed and there were lots of people waiting both inside and outside. They have lots of tables which leads one to think about how good the food can actually be or what quality will it be when they are moving that much food through so many tables. It was definitely not worth the wait. The eggs benedict were pretty standard, nothing special. Exactly how eggs benedict are supposed to be with poached eggs, Canadian bacon, on an English muffin, with hollandaise sauce. The sauce was ok, a little broken. The hash browns were extremely salty, almost inedible. Also had a biscuit, which did seem homemade. It was nicely soft and buttery on the inside and brown and crispy on the outside. However, the jam and jelly options were just packets.

Yelp
Dee is awesome. This restaurant has many food offerings including vegan options. It is a relaxing environment and our servers including Dee, were quick, knowledgeable and helpful. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Nice place. We revisited a local favorite during our return to Anchorage. As this restaurant is always busy, be sure to add your name to the waitlist. For this visit, it was 40-50 minutes and was way to do online. When we arrived, we were third on the list. We were seated within five minutes after arriving. The service was good. There are so many choices it is hard to pick something. As this was not our first time, I made the mistake to pick something different, Nuevo Huevos, that while tasting very good, had way too much rice and beans for my liking. I was expecting something totally different. I will return on our next visit.

Yelp
Since I haven't worked downtown in a decade, I haven't visited this highly coveted breakfast spot in that same amount of time. We visited on a sunny Sunday morning about 9ish. The place was full but the standing wait was only fifteen minutes. We were seated before that thankfully. Snow city's space is just the same as I remember it. Except now they have bathroom/wifi passcodes included on all the tables. Our server was outstanding. My spouse got the sludge cup, I ordered the mimosa off their fresh sheet (but had to wait till ten am to get it). I'm more of an Arizona girl myself....brunch drinks start at 6am.....but this is Alaska. For food, I got the avocado toast with eggs and omg bacon. My spouse got the Kodiak (king crab) Bene's. Everything was good but not $80 for two people, good. I'm glad we can finally say we visited recently, but I'm not in a super rush to return.
google avatar

Naomi J.

Yelp
Good food but as you have noted, service is slow. Our waitress to tell you that the best thing to do is arrive before 9 AM - anytime after that, and you were likely to have a minute or longer wait. We arrived at 7:45 AM, got seated by 8:00, our order was taken at 8:25 (I am not sure why this step took so long ) and we got our food at 8:40. Good, pretty stingers/slightly above average compared to breakfast diners in Seattle! "World famous pecan sticky roll" was good (4/5 stars for Seattle) and the salmon cakes were better than expected (4/5 stars). The spice chai tea was on the sweet side (so I wonder how sweet the sweet chai tea would've been ). We came back again, we would re-order the salmon cakes (4.5/5 stars).
google avatar

Yelp
The gluten free French dip was amazing. The Au jus was subtle and wasn't too salty, which I like. It was refreshing to have multiple gluten free options while traveling, including the soup. Our server was super friendly and helpful. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Courtney B.

Yelp
I love this place! Use Yelp to join the waitlist, it will save you a lot of time upon arrival. They don't take reservations. Everything is delicious here and have a coffee from their coffee bar while you wait. Take a walk around the area and look at the inlet or sit outside at their picnic tables or chairs around the restaurant. The Benedict's are the star for me, do the half and half w one salmon and one crab, it's delicious! Everyone I've taken here loves it! Such a wonderful hidden gem nestled in downtown.

Shyla C.

Yelp
The Biscuits and gravy here are absolutely amazing! Staff was friendly but it took a bit to get our order. Overall a lovely downtown breakfast spot!
google avatar

Karl S.

Yelp
Casual, eclectic and plan good food. Still doesn't disappoint after all these years. Usually get breakfast/brunch, but ordered from the lunch menu this visit. AND... Delicious! Staff friendly attentive and helpful. Thanks Snow City. You're still doin' it!
google avatar

Austin G.

Yelp
Super solid breakfast and brunch spot in anchorage. The sweet and savory items are both great! The cinnamon roll is great and then the different egg scrambles and the huevos rancheros we're very well done! There is usually a long wait but you can hop on the wait list on Yelp and that is a very nice feature to just show up when your table is ready!
google avatar

Lindsay D.

Yelp
The food was great. The service was very friendly and quick. Parking out front is metered but we got there at 6:30am when they open they don't charge you for metes till 9am. I ordered two eggs over hard with extra crispy hash browns and sourdough toast and reindeer sausage very tasty. The whole table shared a sticky bun for dessert very good. Cute diner type of vibe inside.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Grabbed breakfast at Snow City while in Anchorage. Be sure to join the waitlist on Yelp before you arrive! It is a very popular spot, so unless you get there very early, you will probably have e a wait. When we got there, there were spots at the bar, so we hopped off the waitlist and over immediately to the bar. We shared the breakfast burrito and green chili sauce and the cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll and the green chili sauce were to die for. The burrito without the sauce wouldn't have been great, but with it *chef's kiss* service was a bit slow, but not terrible.

Yelp
Our second attempt at trying this popular Anchorage cafe steps from our hotel. The lines were crazy long when we came on a Sunday thus we joined the waitlist on a Tuesday via Yelp and got a table a bit after 1pm toward the tail end of their lunchtime rush. We had high expectations but were disappointed with both our meals. My wife had a salmon BLT and I had the meatloaf sandwich and both were mediocre. Her salmon was made from frozen fish and was quite dry. We took a cruise up to Anchorage and my wife being a salmon aficionado has tried salmon multiple times during our 10 days in Alaska. This was the worst salmon she's had. My meatloaf was tasteless thus had to drench it in hot sauce which was available right next to our table. Perhaps this is a good place for breakfast but I'd give it a skip for lunch. Brew House right around the corner on 5th ave was much better.

Yelp
You will wait...the wait is worth it. Go to their website and you can put your name in the queue and get a time estimate; you will receive a notification when your table is available . The coastal trail is nearby; our first visit rather than waiting at the cafe we enjoyed a nice walk on the trail. Very good options for vegetarians/vegans. We went twice, ordering the same both times...it was that good. I had the Roasted Veggie Benedict with a side of Beyond Sausage. Although I don't think I've ever had a bad benedict, this was especially good...very tasty. Partner had the stuffed French Toast which tasted even better than it looked, quite an achievement. The 'toast' was a baguette, a berry cream cheese schmear, topped with berry compote, walnuts, and whipped cream. I got to sample it...heaven. Both dishes were creative, well presented, and a delight to eat. Service deserves a special mention. The servers were slammed on both visits, but you would never know when they were at your table. Very pleasant and helpful. Plan your visit (get your name on the queue early!) and enjoy

Kitty L.

Yelp
Food was fine. Misleading (asked for salmon with my salad and kitchen brought me salmon cakes), but fine. When waitress finally checked in with us, I let her know and asked for chicken instead. We hadn't started eating yet but she brought chicken in a to go cup, and gave me our check. No opportunity to ask for a water refill. Given check and to go food before we started eating??? I tipped $5 dollars. I should have tipped less. Normally I tip 30-40%, so this reflects my 'shock' of the service. Surprised nothing was credited on the bill just for the trouble as she didn't check in with us until maybe 10 minutes had passed after incorrect food was brought out. Therefore, I felt like we wasted a lot of money and time (40 mins waiting to get a seat). It would take a gift card and for you to talk with your staff to get me to come back again. I have never written a bad review before. Most times I give the benefit of the doubt: Rush hour, new staff etc. but this was borderline offensive. Trendy place, good ingredients, lack of customer satisfaction.

Yelp
Ambiance: Very cute diner Service: This is a little situational and I'm not sure this is an everyday occurrence. So the service once we were seated was great however the service to get seated was a little off. There was the expected line out the door waiting to be seated so everyone was waiting their turn in the line. We got there at opening time (7:10am) However, at some point the hostess said to join the waitlist online or on the kiosk in the front. The waitlist online wasn't working when we initially got there (hence the line) so we did both, we stayed in line and joined the list. The family in front of us sat on a bench and joined the online list. The older single gentleman in front of us turned behind us and was like "aren't we in line" and proceeded to not do the online list. We very quickly noticed that the hostess would call a name and it would be a group that had clearly joined the line much time after us. This did cause much frustration among everyone. We even got called before the family who was standing originally in front of us in line. We told the hostess to please seat them first as they were originally in front of us. Food: Was great! Nothing that is abnormally special about the breakfast, but this was indeed a good breakfast! For visitors, fun to say you ate breakfast and tried reindeer sausage! I'd say if it had not had the waitlist issue, we would have had a normal wait time at any other standard breakfast diner and it is worth the standard wait.

Great gluten free selection. Took shelter in this cozy cafe during a rainstorm and were so glad we did. The servers were super friendly, and had us seated with coats space for our coats to dry out. Ended up ordering brunch and beverages and making an event of it! Their coffee beverages are well prepared (I'm picky about my foam) and had fun holiday flavors. I ordered a sake Bloody Mary and enjoyed their house made bloody mary mix. We also ordered the (gluten free versions of the) Crab and Ship Creek Benedicts, which were phenomenal! Such a great surprise to have a selection of gluten free Benedicts at a restaurant! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great cafe in downtown Anchorage with lots of breakfast/lunch and coffee options! It's great that they have the Yelp waitlist to help save time, we only had to wait about 10 minutes once we got there bc we joined the waitlist about an hour before. They have lots of vegan/vegetarian food options including just egg and beyond meat breakfast sausage. Our service was wonderful- staff is friendly and attentive and so kind. Our server Emily (?i think this was her name) was fantastic and so accommodating to a good allergen someone in the group had. Everyone loved their food- breakfast burritos, French toast, Benedicts. Serving sizes are huge and our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs! Love that they have a hot sauce bar (seems most local places do!)

Yelp
Pros-- 1. Great selection of warm beverages (coffees and lattes) 2. Open early 3. Mostly friendly staff Cons-- 1. Very slow service for food (drinks were fine)- we waited 45 min for our breakfast! Hardly saw our waitress. 2. Ordered the crab and salmon eggs Benedict-- both were dry and eggs overcooked. It was difficult to eat. 3. Always a long wait unless you arrive early or are willing to wait 30min-1hr.

Yelp
A fantastic spot for brunch that is beloved by tourists and locals alike -- it was super busy on a Friday morning, but we were able to join the Yelp waitlist and it was well worth. We were in town visiting during the off-season, and it was still absolutely bustling so that should give you an idea of its popularity. The staff were really sweet and the food here was absolutely delicious! I am not exaggerating when I say that the Salmon Benedict was one of my favorite things I've eaten in Alaska! And the Pecan Sticky Bun was SO. GOOD. and was a great pick-me-up snack on our drive to Seward. Even the most basic item we got, the mushroom omelette, was excellent. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Snow City Cafe is by far my favorite breakfast place to go in town. I also love the vibes of this place and the food never disappoints. I highly recommended getting on their waitlist as early as you can on the weekends, wait times can be upwards to 2 hours because of the crowds that adore this spot.

Yelp
TL:DR - Sat immediately 830am Sunday, and it got very busy after 9. The kodiak (crab cake benedict) was expensive but so worth it. Everything just worked together perfectly and that Hollandaise sauce was magical. Hashbrowns left a little to be desired. Mine were a bit mushy and cold in the middle. Seems like they mass produce it and quality control isn't great that way. But do love the space, will be back. ------------------------------------------------------------------- We arrived on 830 am on a Sunday at sat immediately, but on our way out around 9:30, the waiting area was PACKED. The menu is pretty extensive with so many delicious sounding options. The Kodiak (crab cake benedict) seemed good, but also expensive, but I decided to treat myself and it was the right choice. Man that thing was delicious. The english muffin provided great structure without being too dry and a perfect sponge for the egg yolk and hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise, omg, *chef's kiss* bright, lemony, creamy... perfect. The crab cake too was a beautiful consistency that just brought everything together. My only knock was the hash browns. I know they probably pump out a lot of them, but they seemed to be frozen to start (which fine, it happens) and seems to be a square cut out of a larger portion. It seems as if they probably have a giant griddle just doing hashbrowns and they portion them out when there's an order. Efficient, but it left my portion still cold and mushy in the middle, all while very crispy on the top and bottom. Other than that, the interior was bright and colorful with a bunch of cute logos and snowmen everywhere. Service was prompt and courteous. I will 100% be back in town, and hoping for some improvement on the hashbrowns.

Yelp
If you're in a hurry, this is not the place for you. There's always a waiting line every time I go here, about 30-40 minutes. It's a nice, relaxing place but it gets too noisy sometimes. The servers are very nice and accommodating. The food is really good. I've never had regrets about anything I've ordered here. That's why I always recommend it to my friends if they have family or friends coming for vacation. It's a must to go here.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place for brunch. The avocado toast was the best I've had anywhere.

Yelp
Favorite spot for breakfast in Anchorage. Spring and summer they are SUPER BUSY!!! They really need to open earlier! They open at 7am and I came a few minutes before they opened hoping to avoid the rush but 25 people had the SAME IDEA and were lined up outside!!! Place is good but not THAT GOOD. They do move the line quickly and service is solid. I have had 3 versions of their Eggs Benedict and all a delicious. Snow crab was the best version. The "Kodiak" was disappointing, the crab cakes didn't have much king crab in them. Had the pancakes once and they were AWFUL. The menu needs a WAFFLE option. They do have cinnamon rolls. They are behind a glass counter and didn't look like anything special. Maybe I will try one next time. They do have a waitlist so you can call in and get on the list up to an hour early. UPDATE STILL MY FAVORITE BREAKFAST SPOT IN ANCHORAGE. Finally found a "sweet" menu item I like. The stuffed French toast is amazing! Will be back two more times this week!

Yelp
Day 1 of vacation and we stopped in for breakfast at Snow city cafe. Conveniently located in downtown Anchorage with public parking and street parking available. This quaint restaurant is well known for their pecan sticky buns and cinnamon rolls, in addition to their great food and service. Tip: to avoid the waitlist I'd recommend stopping into the restaurant early or adding your name to the waitlist before you arrive. Truly, everything on the menu looks delicious! We decided to order the: Crabby omelet: snow crab, Swiss cheese, green onion and avocado Kodiak:poached eggs, red king crab cakes, toasted english muffin, housemade hollandaise, green onion Omg bacon: candied & peppered applewood smoked bacon As eggs Benny fan- I've never had such a delicious crab cake Benny! Fresh crab, flavorful hollandaise- truly worth ordering and utterly delish! Crabby omelet- lots of crab and very tasty! Omg bacon- the name says it all! A Must when dining here! We truly enjoyed our breakfast and our server was very helpful and friendly. My first day in Alaska is off to a great start! Planning on coming back again before I leave Alaska!

Yelp
the cafe consists only of minuses, it is even difficult to single out something. On napkins with forks, someone spilled something red
