Where to Cool Down With Icy Sweet Snow Cones, Shave Ices, Sno-Balls, and More

"The Korean dessert chain opened its first non-California location in Austin, dishing out bingsu, a take on shaved ice made with “snow” from a milky base, topped with sweets like fruits and cookies. Takeout orders can be placed in person; there are indoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury, Darcie Duttweiler

Google
This place would have gotten 4 stars, EXCEPT the bathroom didn't have a working soap dispenser. It was a bit ironic considering the "employees must wash hands before returning to work" sign right above the broken dispenser. The taiyaki was my favorite food, they don't cut off the excess corners so you get all the dough. The only downside is the time it takes, as they're made to order, but you can be sure it's going to be fresh and pipping hot. The bingsu themselves are alright, not really my taste. They use shaved frozen milk instead of shaved ice which is fancy.

Google
This is my second time coming here, it's probably the best bingsu in Austin. However, since two months ago and now they seemed to have updated the menu pictures to AI generated images although the older menus already had perfectly good images of the actual product? The AI ones look not only completely innaccurate, they also look worse... It will never cease to confuse me

Google
My husband and I stopped by to get a smoothie and holy cow!! These are some of the tastiest smoothies we have had. I got the strawberry and banana smoothie, and my husband got the cookies & cream. 10/10. They're pretty big in size as well, definitely worth the money!

Google
Best Bingsu in Austin! Get yourself an Assorted Bingsu and don't sleep on the mangoes. The fruit was so fresh! The large is good for 3, or 2 if you have a sweet tooth like we do.

Mari Chai

Google
We got the taro shaved ice. It was really, really good! It had red bean and injeomi on top. We also got the custard taiyaki croissant. That was phenomenal! The breading was perfectly crunchy and sweet, while the custard was smooth. This has to be one of my favorite custard fillings I've tried! I definitely recommend trying this place out!

_HeyShaeee

Google
This place was amazing! I got the strawberry Taiyaki croissant and added ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberries and it was perfect. The croissant was sweet, crunchy, and chewy. I also got the blueberry cheesecake milk shaved ice and it was 🔥🔥. The fruit was super fresh and the whipped cream had a good, homemade taste to it. Easily a 10/10

Google
Very unique place. We tried assorted fruit bingsu (its basically shaved milk topped with fruits of your choice). It feels very fresh and lite. Ambience is good. The portion size was big, so got a small one to try. Will definitely come back to try their taiyakis. They look good!

Google
Amazing bingsu shaved ice with lots of variety. Polite and helpful staff. Modestly expensive compared to other dessert cafes. Good quality and good portions. Small can be quite filling too. Ambiance is great. Plenty of parking available right outside. Not a big fan of red bean paste option but their strawberry, mango, taro flavors are amazing. Unfortunately the ice is not flavored. Only the toppings change. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
The server gave my friend a free tiny sample bowl in addition to the big bowl she ordered so that she can try out the taro flavor she has been debating, how nice! The food is good as usual.

Yelp
Croissant Taiyaki is yummy! I got it with strawberry filling. Price of $5.25 isn't bad either. I liked how they told you exactly how long it would take to prepare, and it was indeed hot and fresh. They have wifi here too, so it's a good option for a place to do work. Plenty of parking in the strip mall.

Yelp
Snowy village was so good! I didn't have the opportunity to try their drinks, however, their shaved ice was top notch. I'm not a huge fan of red bean, but my friends said that the red bean was incredible. The mango was fresh, and the matcha was so tasty. The place has ample seating, it's very cute inside & intimate. The staff is very kind & accommodating :)

Yelp
Fantastic dessert. We have a Snowy Village in Washington as well and it's easily the number one bingsu spot around. I guess it's by convention, if that's your name you must be good. However, it is extremely sweet contrary to what I read and I have a sweet tooth. There's free wifi, restroom available, and ample seating. I would say it's primarily a bingsu place but their boba is solid! You can also adjust the ice and sugar levels, though I don't think it's a standard process, they will accommodate if asked. I did feel that the sizes here are smaller. A regular feels like a small so I can only imagine how quickly a small disappears. With these sizes, the contents feel big because they pack it into the tin buckets, but it only makes the experience worse with a crammed eating situation. Sauce is dripping down the side while crumbs fall off easily leaving a mess. Interior was also a bit dirty as in seats had crumbs and tables sticky just after opening (12:30ish), so while it's possible to be fresh, I doubt it. Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsu - while the regular size felt like a small and the price point felt off for the size, the taste was fabulous. Strawberries were slightly sour which isn't too good but the jam was extremely sweet to balance it out. Bingsu itself tasted sweetened, not your typical shaved milk. Maybe condensed milk was blended in. Cheesecake was to die for. Phenomenal cheesecake meshed with the bingsu perfectly. Green Milk Tea w/ Boba - while I was expecting a typical jasmine green milk tea, I was pleasantly surprised with this version. I'd say it's more like a Thai green milk tea in appearance and taste. First of all, it's literal green milk tea. Taste wise, there's a minty, almost pandan start with a Thai tea finish. There may be green tea but it's very subtle if at all. Boba was slightly sweet and perfectly chewy. Pretty pleased with the boba here.

Yelp
I love Snowy Village! bingsu are super creamy and refreshing--absolutely amazing. The condensed milk makes it really sweet, but it's a game changer and must-try. Their taiyaki are always warm and perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of sweetness w/ the filling. There's a little bit of a wait for them but they're made when ordered and come out hot & delicious! The store is a cozy perfect spot to relax and enjoy some tasty treats :)

Yelp
Loved it! Had this a while back, just got to posting. I had mango cheesecake bing su and a Nutella banana Taiyaki. Definitely worth the drive from San Antonio.
google avatar

Yelp
Unbelievably gooooood. We ordered the Espresso, a strawberry taiyaki , blueberry bingsu
google avatar

Melinda N.

Yelp
The shaved ice are made to order so there is a wait. It's unlike ice cream or frozen yogurt. It's so light and refreshing and not too sweet. We split a small mango one and it was just right for 3 girls. I am excited to go back during the summer to try the other flavors.
google avatar

Rhenzie Anne F.

Yelp
The BEST bingsu ever! We come twice a week for the injeolmi bingsu and custard taiyaki. I love that the injeolmi is super light and isn't overly sweet, which is probably why it's so addicting! The bingsu is extremely soft and stays snowy until the very last bite. Combine it with a taiyaki... chef's kiss. Don't miss out!
google avatar

Cam H.

Yelp
So delicious! The strawberry bingsoo we ordered had the perfect level of sweetness. I love the condensed milk topping that they added. Strawberries were fresh. Portion was a little small though, for the price. Will definitely be back to try their boba drinks. This is probably the best bingsu in Austin (options are limited in Austin though). Cute decor inside, plenty of seatings. Good service.
google avatar

Minh D.

Yelp
Super refreshing summer treat. Had a matcha bingsu that was great tasting & NOT TOO SWEET!! - the first time I did in all my years in the US. I'm not 100% positive but it seems like the shaved ice is made from milk, makes it really creamy. The red beans & chewy rice cakes complement the matcha flavor really well. Now I want to try the other flavors :-))

Fortitudetude ..

Yelp
Mango - normally not a big fan of mango, but the mango topping was generous in amount and perfect mix of tart and sweetness. The mango went well with shaved ice Green tea- not as quenching as mango but fair and a safe choice Strawberry cheesecake - can taste both strawberry and cheesecake; didnt feel like this flavor complemented the shaved ice (it could be a stand alone/or more like an ice cream cake); overall a fair choice if one likes this flavor. Would come again if someone likes shaved ice
google avatar

Irene N.

Yelp
I love bingsu and this one was filled with lots of mango! Be careful because it can get sticky. They have a lot of other toppings and flavors as well. The staff was really friendly. And it was located in a great plaza with lots of parking.
google avatar

Lori H.

Yelp
This is not conveniently located from me but wanted to try it since I visited another franchise in Seattle Washington. I found that the milk ice was not as fine, very draw and flavorless. The taiyaki was good, freshly made and delivered hot. I'm not sure it's worth driving over 15 miles.
google avatar

Tina D.

Yelp
I love going to snow village. I really like their assorted fruit bingsu. I ask for mango and strawberries the most. Their boba drinks aren't too sweet and is more suited towards Asian palate. Their taiyaki croissants are really good. My favorite is the custard. There's free wifi and parking there, so it's a nice place to study also.
google avatar

Ly N.

Yelp
I already love bingsu, but I REALLY love the bingsu at Snowy village. This is located in a strip mall with a few other Asian stores nearby (Mochinut, Ding Tea, Teapioca, etc.), so the location is very convenient and plenty of parking. I would definitely recommend this anyone in the area! I ordered the large 3 fruit bingsu for my group of 4 people, which was enough for us but better suited for 3 people. The fruits on top were very fresh and sweet. The shaved ice was fluffy, creamy, and perfectly sweetened. It's such a refreshing treat to have after a heavy meal. Aside from the taste, the presentation is also really pretty. I do wish the bingsu came in a slightly bigger bowl because a lot of things were falling off as we were eating.

Yelp
They absolutely nail it with delivery! It is cold, not melted and delicious! They package it to keep their product just like you are getting it in the restaurant. Great job Snowy Village! My favorite is the Blueberry with Cheesecake! Yes, I have tried almost all of them and have not disliked any of them! Perfect anytime of day!
google avatar

Linsie W.

Yelp
My first time experiencing snowy village and it did not disappoint! Loved all the desserts we got! The shaved ice is so soft and delicate and will definitely satisfy any sweets craving. Also, the taiyaki is amazingly delicious as well! So fresh and all the fillings and great options. Will definitely be going again!
google avatar

Yelp
I'll keep this short. I've been here 3 times. Ordered 3 different items and all were great. Interior is designed well, menu is easy to understand and the ingredients seem fresh. That said, please please please tell the staff to keep the place clean. I can promise you that you have lost customers this way. Perhaps keep a cleaning log where the place gets checked once per hour? Good luck. Your desserts are still great!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
This dessert place never fails to impress. The Taiyaki is so flaky and delicious. It's around 4-5$ based on the flavor you get. It's freshly prepared and melts in your mouth. I go here whenever I have friends visiting because it's a really cool and delicious dessert you can't get everywhere. I will definitely be back to try more flavors, and even the shaved ice! I add another review when I have tried the shaved ice. The place is clean and prices are fair. 5 Stars and I would definitely recommend it to anyone I know.
google avatar

Catlyn L.

Yelp
This place surprised me with how good everything was! Not as creamie as ice cream but def just as good!

Abraham M.

Yelp
Amazing place to spend a good time and great costumer service they replaced all my purchased items when accidentally dropped them with out paying them again I appreciate it
google avatar

Lindsay W.

Yelp
Bingsu! If you've never had it, you must try it. The "croissants" are sooooo yummy. I wish there was one down south.
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
H Mart is such an experience. Went on a Sunday so it was packed, but all in all for the amount of people in line for boba at Snowy, I was truly thrilled when I got my drink. Taro is a favorite of mine. It's quite a drive for me but delicious enough I'll be back.
google avatar

Jam J.

Yelp
Shaveice was good! Mango on top was great! But a little pricey, $15? I think its too much for a shaveice. My son got strawberry slush which was so sour. I asked them if thats really their normal slush. They said no.But Im Glad they replaced my slushy. The flavor was okay. I wouldn't order it in the future.
google avatar

Yuna K.

Yelp
We ordered the injeolmi red bean bingsoo which came out fast but i did not like how it was presented in a small paper bowl. Although the almond topping and the redbean as well as the injeolmi went well together it was quite messy when eating this dish as the bowl was so small. Has potential though and might want to try other flavors like blueberry cheesecake or fruity pebble.
google avatar

Laurie W.

Yelp
I used to love it here. But traditionally these have sweetened condensed milk drizzle and this time it was just dry ice milk. Not as good. But as you can see, it's fun and has a lot of potential!
google avatar

Bonnie L.

Yelp
Haven't had bingsu in a very long time so I wanted to try this place out. My friend and I got mango and strawberry and they were delicious. It was also packed with fruit.
google avatar

Sonal G.

Yelp
My husband and I were craving Bingsoo which I hadn't had in a really long time, and we were excited to see that there was a place so close to us that had it! They have really great flavor options (I'm a mango cheesecake girl) but also match, mochi, other fruit and it goes on. It's such a great summer treat and it's not very sweet which is great. I think milk and condensed milk go in there, so if you're lactose intolerant, take a Lactaid! They also have Taiyaki which are popular fish shaped filled pastries and they come out warm, crispy and melty - so so yummy. My favorite so far after having tried a few is the most popular custard filling. We've been going for three weekends straight and really need to stop... but highly recommend this spot if you have or never have had Bingsoo and taiyaki and are looking for a new dessert to try! It is a little expensive, but even the small size is quite filling as a dessert.
google avatar

Marilynn T.

Yelp
Had the chocolate bingsu and the ham and cheese and nutella croissant taiyaki. The bingsu was okay, the flavor wasn't really there and the texture could've been softer. however, the taiyaki was pretty good, better than the bingsu.
google avatar

Phuong P.

Yelp
Bingsu is alright and a bit pricey; but the taiyaki is very delicious and reasonable! We tried chocolate bingsu and Oreo Taiyaki. I love the taiyaki there, and will definitely come back for it, maybe not the bingsu.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
We really liked the custard taiyaki I would definitely get that again! It was slightly crispy from the sugar glaze and creamy and soft on the inside. My avocado shake was good but had an aftertaste that was a little bitter, I would have preferred the shake to be a little creamier as well. My partner got to blueberry shake and liked it.
google avatar

Daysi L.

Yelp
delicious but expensive! Each of the bingsu containers was $12 which is lowkey wild for some shaved ice and red bean. But it was so good and big that i can't even be mad at them. The container is big enough for two people but i finished it by myself highly recommend and they make it super fast, it literally took less than 10 minutes to be on our way.
google avatar

Holly Z.

Yelp
If you're stopping at Snowvy Village, I hope you know what is Bingsu. A popular Korean shaved ice dessert, usually comes with sweet toppings or fruit, condensed milk, fruit syrup, and red beans. They also have Taiyaki! You can never go wrong with the plain option but I prefer the Taiyaki with nutella. Well anything with chocolate is good with me. I got the green tea bingsu, contains red beans, injeolmi (korean rice cake), milk syrup, almond,, and green tea powder.. duh. I love it's combine with injeolmi. It's basically mochi. And the classic, assorted fruit bingsu. You can never go wrong with that unless they're using old/bad fruits. Also contain milk syrup but with whipped cream and purees syrup. Both is perfect, not too sweet and ice quickly melts into your mouth. You can get it small, regular, or large. I think small is a perfect size for one. Of course, if you're craving for dessert in the moment, I'd go with a regular or large! And if you can't decide, their menu has pictures. Usually helps with my decision making.
google avatar

Selina L.

Yelp
The red bean is AMAZING here, do yourself a huge favor and try out their Injeolmi and red bean bingsu. I have tried a lot of red bean dessert in different states and by far this is my favorite place! Their red bean was great balance of sweetness and chewy texture. If I could, I would just order a side of red bean to go. My friend and I opted for the small size ~$7, since we weren't that hungry. The portion was perfect for the both of us. The shaved ice itself was pretty standard, however their toppings really elevate their desserts. I wished they added mochi for more texture. I cannot wait to try their other flavors when I come back, I highly recommend this place if you're craving for some Korean shaved ice.
google avatar

Xiuhui M.

Yelp
so good and refreshing, especially on a hot day !!!! highly recommend their bingsu because the texture is so soft and fluffy. mango cheesecake bingsu: 8.8/10 | pretty close to perfect. i think i would've liked a little more toppings but the shaved ice texture is amazing and so fluffy. highly recommend this dish hehe i am excited to try other flavors. taiyaki: 7.4/10 | really good crust but not the taiyaki i'm used to (still hella good tho). we got the cheese flavor and the red bean and mochi flavor :) there could've been more filling imo but both were really good snacks ^-^
google avatar

Billy Y.

Yelp
Omg, bingsu heaven! True authentic Korean shaved snow at its finest. For those of you that don't know what bingsu is, it's shaved milk that basically looks and feels like fluffy powder snow hence their store name. Then on top of the snow, you have toppings of your choice (check out the menu I posted). I got the small mango bingsu for 6 bucks the first time I came here. It was so exquisite and amazing that the very next day I came back just to get their large mango bingsu. The large cost 12 bucks but so very worth it and finished all of it by myself. You can call me a fattie all you want for doing that but I don't care - it was just that good. Just the feel and taste of eating creamy fluffy snow with fruit can't be beat. I also tried their Taro smoothie which was good as well and tasted about the same as other places I've tried. If you're ever in town or around the area, you must give this place a visit and get their bingsu. That's where it's at and makes for a wonderful after dinner treat. They totally do it justice!
google avatar

Quyen B.

Yelp
The taiyaki here is pretty darn good! Perfectly buttery and flaky. I like it plain. Never tried the bingsu because I'm not into it. Service here is much better than the location on Airport at the 99 Ranch area. Faster service. Plenty of parking. 5 minutes from my house. Yay!
google avatar

Nicki C.

Yelp
We loved this place! I ordered a Nutella banana freshly made pastry, and the rest of my family ordered the strawberry cheesecake snowy ice cream. Soo good! The drip coffee was pretty good as well! We went around 6PM on a Friday and it was surprisingly quiet, but very inviting and spacious! The ice cream literally felt like snow in your mouth! Great experience, and definitely recommend if you're in the area!!!
google avatar

Shashikala P.

Yelp
Went to this place today after dinner, it's Korean style ice cream. Ordered bing su mango small, had few doubts, they explained it good, so it's milk base shaved ice, with fresh fruits. My son and me both liked it, mango wasn't ripe, other than that everything was good. Recommend this place.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
I love Snowy Village, and I'm ecstatic to see that they've opened a new location after their first location at Austin located at airport boulevard. The bingsu is just as good as the location at Airport Boulevard. However, I believe that their taiyaki portions are more generous. Their bingsu is the perfect dessert if you want something light that literally dissolves in your mouth. The strawberries are firm, but the cheesecake bits are on the hard side. You'd best go after lunch at around 2. I believe that this location will be less busy than the Airport location in general because Pflugerville just doesn't have many Asians. Parking is plentiful. Hana World Market isn't busy, so the shopping center has plenty of parking. You will never have to resort to street parking, nor will the parking lot ever be packed even on weekends. The store itself is brightly lit from natural sunlight, and it's clean. The staff are kind, and the wifi is fast.

Yelp
When it's mango season, Snowy Village uses fresh mangoes for their Mango Cheesecake Bingsu (Milk Shaved Snow) and it's the best bingsu that I, an ex-non-vegan bingsu connoisseur, have ever had --even outside of Texas, South Korea included. I used to always get a large Mango Cheesecake Bingsu and a Hot Taiyaki Croissant with Custard with my now husband, and I must say, that I was a bit tempted to steal a bite (or two) from him when I came back as a vegan. But I was also curious to try their vegan options for the first time, and the employees were super helpful to ensure that my order was 100% plant-based. Unfortunately, none of the bingsu and hot taiyaki croissants were vegan, but it seemed that most of the drinks were easily modifiable to make them vegan by substituting the milk to almond or organic soy milk. After hearing that they do not add honey in their pearls (boba), I got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with organic soy milk and pearls. The drink had a strong soy milk flavor and just enough sweetness for my liking, but if they included a vegan bingsu (using condensed coconut milk?), I will most likely come by and have one every day for the rest of my life.

Yelp
Wow. All I can say is wow. I had never had Bingsu until I stopped at Snowy Village on a lark with my wife and daughter. It was crazy good. I had the mango cheesecake and everything from the fresh mango chunks to the chunks of cheesecake were amazing! Do yourself a flavor favor and stop in and get yourself one of these!!!
google avatar

Rodel B.

Yelp
Bingsu FTW! I love this soft, shaved ice fruity deliciousness! Add warm, toasty, flaky taiyaki pastries filled with Nutella, custard, or red bean. i know it's dessert but I prefer coming here hungry...I think we've been here the last 3 times we've visited Austin. We can't get enough of it!
google avatar

Kyla S.

Yelp
Wow!!!!! The atmosphere is great, friendly staff, and amazing dessert!! This is bingsu and so delicious! We ordered a medium and got a personal for free such a great dessert and good prices! Try it you'll love it! A++++++ we will be there again!!! *family friendly and quick service!

Dalia G.

Yelp
Everything was sooo good! The shaved milk literally was a perfect snowy texture. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors.

Yelp
If you haven't ever heard of bingsu, or tried a red bean or taro-flavored dessert, you're in for a treat at Snowy Village. Whether you are looking for something hot, cold, savory or sweet, shareable or just for yourself, there are plenty of options for a snack or dessert at Snowy Village. For a hot and savory option, you may wish to try out their taiyaki, which is kind of like a stuffed croissant that is hot-pressed. Just this week I tried their ham and cheese taiyaki, and all I can say is YUM. So much deliciousness in the simple ham & cheese-stuffed warm, buttery, and crispy pastry. For a sweet and cold option, definitely go with a bingsu. You can start with a more fruity flavor such as strawberry or mango or blueberry, or, for a more traditional Korean flavor, go with taro, mochi, or red bean. Depending on the season, the fruit options may change (I appreciate this). I've had watermelon-flavored bingsu here in the summer which was absolutely my favorite. But I'd recommend bringing a friend or two so you can split a large option (or multiple flavors)! These flavors are placed atop a mound of shaved coconutty/milky ice. Snowy Village never disappoints. It is truly a heavenly spot. Underrated, if you ask me. I don't go here enough, and neither do you, most likely!

Yelp
My daughter came by here with friends and decided that she must bring her brother and I to try it out. Needless to say, we loved it too. They offer a variety of drinks/refreshments, Bingsu (a Korean shaved ice concoction) and taiyaki (a Japanese style pastry). So far we've tried several versions of their taiyaki which are made fresh to order. We've had them Plain, Strawberry, Nuttela, Nuttela and Bananas.... they've all been good. They're fresh, warm, flaky and so delicious. My son has tried their Strawberry Banana smoothie with Boba and that was yummy too. Next time we plan to try their Bingsu which looks amazing!

Yelp
My oh My. I love this place. The staff here is always the friendliest and patient when I'm wishy washy about my order. Everything is made to order so don't expect to rush in and out. The taiyaki is delicious! The bingsu is so picture ready! A small bingsu is way too much for me but it's perfect for sharing with your date or bffs. I love the custard taiyaki b/c I LOVE CUSTARD! My kid likes the red bean or just plain. You have a choice of getting it cut into fours or left alone. It cools down faster when you cut it but it's so pretty when you leave it whole! I normally get the buy 3 for 9.99. They keep really crispy if you don't let them steam up! Also, the taiyaki is a croissant type dough, not just a waffle/pancake batter and it's so flaky and crispy. You have to try it for yourself!
