The 11 Best Places to Eat in Paris Right Now - AFAR

"In an inconspicuous corner near Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, this far-19th-arrondissement seafood spot serves elegantly modern, shareable plates devised by chef Sam Schwarz. Meals begin with a signature amuse-bouche — an oyster (seasonally from St. Vaast or Oléron) paired with a spicy margarita shot — and continue through complex preparations like tuna tartare with Roman-style crispy artichokes and a ham gel, raw cuttlefish with red cabbage and kumquats, and occasionally a large pork chop meant for sharing. Finish with a superb cheese selection (think triple-cream Brillat-Savarin or pungent Époisses) and a glass of natural Cabernet Franc." - Eleanor Aldridge

"A gem of a Parisian brasserie, where Marius de Ponfilly, formerly chef at Clamato, has teamed up with Kevin Deulio. Previously at Bar Vendôme in The Ritz, the latter has taken to the restaurant floor like a duck to water. The pair have found a formula that is as irreverent as it is on point: choice cuts of meat and plates to be shared between friends (akasocesin Parisian slang), not forgetting their trademark fish and seafood… We recommend the Pyrenean trout and its indulgent basil sauce, or the delicious wedge clams from Le Guilvinec in a spicy parsley sauce." - Michelin Inspector

Where to Eat In Paris Right Now - Paris - The Infatuation

"It’s unclear why more restaurants haven’t thought to pair oysters with a margarita shooter, but it’s definitely the best way to begin a meal at this restaurant near Parc des Buttes Chaumont. Tourists rarely come up this far, so expect to find fashionable locals gathering on the later side for a dinner of predominantly sea-based small plates. Service is friendly and attentive, and the food ranges from simple things like bulots with mayonnaise to more creative dishes, like whole mackerel doused in tandoori sauce and served with a broccoli puree and sliced kumquats. With a throwback soundtrack featuring “I Think We’re Alone Now” and “Dancing in the Dark,” eating here is as much about the fun, feel-good ambiance as the food itself." - Sara Lieberman

Great place to eat. They do speak english which helps This is a high end restaurant - don't expect a big plate of food. Everything tasted great but I do feel it was a bit expensive £210 for 3 people that was mostly food as we don't really drink so only had one glass of wine) I would recommend for a french experience The honest traveller

Soces is everything I love about the new Parisian food scene. The space is warm and stylish, the service is top-notch — friendly without being over the top. But most importantly, the food delivers. Every dish feels fresh, seasonal, and deeply thoughtful. It’s creative without being showy, and rooted in real culinary tradition. A true celebration of product-first cooking. Can’t wait to come back.

my wife and I were excited to visit Soces after recommendations from our friends and social media. food was mostly great, except mayo sauce on raw tuna (that was rather a weird combination, but ok) the only reason i’m giving it a 3 stars review is because after that dinner my wife and I had one of the worst food poisonings we ever had knocking us off for a week. we tried reaching out to the restaurant to raise awareness about food quality because seafood can be risky. they told us they would get back to us, but never did. it’s unfortunate this experience ruined what seems to be a lovely restaurant for us

So glad we were able to get a last minute table of four at Soces. What a perfect restaurant. Food was creative, smart and evocative, with some excellent cookery skills and top notch produce on show. The restaurant itself was very well designed and the atmosphere was merry, convivial and casual. Excellent cocktails were on offer, as well as an intriguing, natural/low intervention focused wine list. As someone that is slightly prejudiced against some ‘natural’ wines, the wine list at soces provided some thought provoking, and gastronomically inclined wines that i’m glad I had the chance to try. Particularly impressed with the Pierre Frick Pinot Gris late harvest. To talk about the service: it met a perfect balance between service and hospitality. Our waiter was equally efficient as he was charming and knowledgable. Really hard to fault this place, only wish I lived a little closer 🤣

Had a very nice lunch. Highly recommend, especially the Amuse-Bouche (oyster and spicy margarita shot). Friendly service in English. Our server said they make their own hot sauce
