The 11 Best Places to Eat in Paris Right Now - AFAR

"In an inconspicuous corner near Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, this far-19th-arrondissement seafood spot serves elegantly modern, shareable plates devised by chef Sam Schwarz. Meals begin with a signature amuse-bouche — an oyster (seasonally from St. Vaast or Oléron) paired with a spicy margarita shot — and continue through complex preparations like tuna tartare with Roman-style crispy artichokes and a ham gel, raw cuttlefish with red cabbage and kumquats, and occasionally a large pork chop meant for sharing. Finish with a superb cheese selection (think triple-cream Brillat-Savarin or pungent Époisses) and a glass of natural Cabernet Franc." - Eleanor Aldridge

Soces

"A gem of a Parisian brasserie, where the former chef at Clamato, Marius de Ponfilly, has teamed up with Kevin Deulio. Previously at Bar Vendôme in The Ritz, the latter has taken to the restaurant floor like a duck to water. The pair have found a formula that is as irreverent as it is on point: choice cuts of meat (cooked over binchotan charcoal, as is the fish) and plates to be shared between friends (or soces in Parisian slang), with original and clever combinations of flavours (lightly breaded scallops in pil pil sauce on warmed soft flatbread; cuttlefish just seared and served in an aromatic consommé with leek oil and "Grenoble-style" vegetables)." - Michelin Inspector

Where to Eat In Paris Right Now - Paris - The Infatuation

"It’s unclear why more restaurants haven’t thought to pair oysters with a margarita shooter, but it’s definitely the best way to begin a meal at this restaurant near Parc des Buttes Chaumont. Tourists rarely come up this far, so expect to find fashionable locals gathering on the later side for a dinner of predominantly sea-based small plates. Service is friendly and attentive, and the food ranges from simple things like bulots with mayonnaise to more creative dishes, like whole mackerel doused in tandoori sauce and served with a broccoli puree and sliced kumquats. With a throwback soundtrack featuring “I Think We’re Alone Now” and “Dancing in the Dark,” eating here is as much about the fun, feel-good ambiance as the food itself." - Sara Lieberman

Soces Restaurant: A Culinary Triumph Our recent visit to Soces Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, the meal was a grand success. The amuse-bouche oyster shooter set the tone for an exciting dining experience with its incredible flavors. The tuna carpaccio was absolutely out of this world, and the beef tartare served with homemade chips left me craving more. Both dishes showcased remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail. The cheese board, featuring four unusual and delightful cheeses, was a unique and rewarding adventure for the palate. For the main course, the generous serving of mussels with French fries in a rich butter cream sauce was divine. Despite feeling extremely full, it was difficult to stop eating this indulgent dish. We concluded the meal with beautifully creamy coffees, which offered a smooth and satisfying end to an unforgettable evening. The service staff at Soces was nothing short of extraordinary. The entire staff worked together so seamlessly that it felt like a well-choreographed performance. Rather than being served by just one waiter, it was clear that the entire team took responsibility for our experience. Each member was attentive, personable, and made sure our needs were met at every moment. Their coordination and care truly elevated the dining experience. Soces Restaurant delivered on every level, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a truly special dining experience.

This place is amazing. We had duck for 2, grilled cabbage, poached cod and tarama (with cabbage and tarama we were very impatient and forgot to take a photo before we started eating 😄). Everything we ate was so balanced and prepared perfectly. We also had poached pear with amaretto cream and apple puff pastry as dessert, both were delicious. Service was great, they explained us eveything on the menu one by one. Reservation is recommended.

All of the small plates were excellent. The cocktails and wine did not disappoint. The service was attentive and friendly, and welcoming for non-French (English) speakers. I would highly recommend anyone go and enjoy!

The food was delicious but the menu was very very limited. Not very many options but all of them are fresh and delicious! I would highly recommend and they are very good if you have any allergy’s and can change out something if you don’t like it or have a restriction. Kids would not like it too much. We asked for chicken and they gave us pigeon which was alright. Pretty pricey.

Certainly one of the best dining experiences we had in Paris. The food was top-notch. Smoked tarama dip was a standout - we couldn't get enough. Our sever was excellent. She was there any time we needed her. Highly recommended. 5 stars.

Inspiring flavor combinations, great vibes and recommendations from the staff, delicious wine - and all at a cute, quiet neighborhood location. This place has redefined French food for us, and we'll definitely be back!

Delicious, charming and creative. Had Sunday lunch here. Neighbourhood vibes. Small but exquisite seafood menu. Excellent wine selection. Charming staff. Simple but welcoming and attractive decor. Off the beaten track but that’s part of what makes it so attractive and definitely worth a detour.
