The Best Spots for Rum Cocktails in Tampa | Eater

"Owners Rob Bowen and Jason Teabout developed the concept for Social Roost after traveling the world together and discovering that every culture has a cool way of making chicken. The result is a poultry paradise, boasting everything from jerk skewers to dumplings, Peruvian chicken, and tikka masala. Nothing washes down a global journey like a good craft cocktail, so be sure to order the Ohana, made with Zacapa Rum, banana syrup, turmeric shrub, and topped off with a squeeze of orange." - Matthew Meltzer

I had an amazing experience here, both for brunch and dinner! For brunch, the Brunch Bowl was fresh and flavorful, the Shrimp and Grits were creamy and well-seasoned, and the Chicken and Waffles had the perfect balance of crispy, juicy, and sweet. The mocktails were refreshing and creative perfect for midday. The service was outstanding, and the warm, inviting ambiance, with its elegant gold and green interior combination, added a touch of glam. After such a fantastic brunch, I returned for dinner, and it did not disappoint! I had the best cocktail and tried the Tokyo Shrimp, Curry Mussels, Samosa, Snapper and Peruvian Chicken, which was out of this world. The flavors were bold, fresh, and expertly crafted. Can’t wait to return—highly recommend!

I am so unbelievably impressed with this restaurant, I gasped so many times from how great the drinks and food were The samosas, short rib sliders, espresso martini and finally the best cocktail I have ever had is the pink’s up. I am beyond impressed with the service from Samantha, who freaking knew the menu like the back of her hand. Please give her a raise she deserves the whole world!!!! The ambiance and the quality of even the helpful from the host (she has glasses brown hair). You can tell everyone loves their job here, this is someone who also works in a restaurant and can tell when it’s a quality team. Great job guys! I will be telling all my friends and family about this place!!!!

I can’t say enough good things about Social Roost! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming—it truly felt like a safe space where you could just relax and be yourself. Our waitress, Olivia, was absolutely amazing. Not only was she attentive and kind, but she also has incredible music taste that added to the already great vibe of the place. She made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Keep the aux with her! The food was delicious—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. And the watermelon mocktail? So refreshing and exactly what I needed on a hot Florida day. If you’re looking for a spot in St. Pete with great food, good energy, and even better people, Social Roost is it. I’ll definitely be back anytime I'm in town.

I immediately felt so welcome and safe the moment I walked into this restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and Olivia truly made the experience unforgettable. She was so kind, attentive, and her music taste over the speakers was absolutely amazing—it set the perfect vibe And let me just say, the pork hash was the BEST pork belly I’ve ever had, hands down! I can’t wait to come back!

Came here for a brunch/lunch for my best friend’s birthday weekend! Our server was clearly busy but stayed kind and attentive! Our drinks were out this world yummy. Each of our dishes were prepared deliciously with a wonderful culmination of flavors! We got a variety of dishes from the pot pie, grilled chicken Caesar salad, fried chicken sandwich, and avocado toast. We were happy with each and would return again!

Google
Had brunch at social roost today. Everything was incredible. Arguably the best espresso martini in town! The mussels were to die for! They are served with a huge portion of the most perfectly toasted bread to dip in the broth. The shrimp and grits were also wonderful. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and told us all about his creations and inspiration behind all of their house made syrups, and juices and what not. We are looking forward to going back!

Restaurant Review: Social Roost – St. Petersburg, FL ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tucked into the heart of downtown St. Pete, Social Roost is the kind of restaurant that not only lives up to the hype—it exceeds it. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with an energetic yet sophisticated vibe that immediately lets you know you’re in for a treat. Whether you’re sitting inside under their warm, modern lighting or enjoying the Florida breeze on their charming outdoor patio, the ambiance is on point—inviting, vibrant, and comfortable. Now let’s talk food. Five stars all the way. Social Roost delivers a diverse and globally inspired menu that truly has something for everyone—from adventurous foodies to picky eaters. Every dish that hit the table looked like it belonged on a magazine cover—gorgeously plated with attention to detail. But the beauty isn’t just skin-deep. Every bite was packed with flavor, clearly crafted by a team that knows how to balance creativity with quality ingredients. The service? Impeccable. Friendly, knowledgeable, and just the right amount of attentiveness. You’re never left waiting, yet you never feel rushed. And here’s the best part—the value. For the caliber of cuisine, the creativity of the dishes, and the overall experience, the pricing is more than fair. It’s a high-end experience without the high-end price tag. Final verdict: Social Roost is a must-visit. Whether you’re local or just in town for the weekend, put it at the top of your list. Great food, great service, great atmosphere—what more could you ask for? Highly, highly recommend.

Google
Amazing place for brunch, enjoyed my birthday here, my only slight knock is that they had outdated information on their website about being able to request that food be fried in tallow or other alternatives. Other than that the food was amazing, service was top notch, and the bartender made me a very good old fashioned! I also ate the shrimp and grits and it was delicious!

Yelp
Listen, I am not an "everyone gets 5 stars or no stars" kind of gal. Most of my reviews are honest and tempered and somewhere in between. So when I say that our brunch experience deserves 6/5 stars I mean it! - Ambience: Perfect. The ideal amount of busy for a Sunday brunch. Lively but not loud, buzzing but not overwhelming. Gorgeous decor, terrific layout, just the right size and right amount of people. - Service: Truly the best service in St. Pete YEARS. Bartender (Matt?) was just all smiles and energy and great vibes and helpfulness during the entirety of our visit. Waitstaff (can't recall her name!!) was just genuinely NICE. Not affected, not practiced, not rehearsed, just likable, authentic, interested, conversational and an absolute joy. Like I wanted to just invite her to pull up a chair and join us. - Food: Just phenomenal. Chicken and biscuit - the perfect amount of gravy, delicious and juicy chicken. Collards were sweet - which threw me at first - but I ended up not getting enough of them they were so great. Cheese grits: the real deal, perfectly seasoned and ideal texture. Pork hash: WWOOWW. Smoky, meaty, not overly salty. Potatoes : little pillows of perfection. Asian sauce: what WAS that?? It was so darn good we put it on everything. And the star of the show: stuffed French toast. Y'all. That is literally one of the best things I have eaten. It is like 3 inches tall and looks like it will be either greasy or gloppy, but like magic, it was light but rich, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Cheesy ceter managed to avoid any semblance of gloppiness and was just a velvety accompaniment that brought out the flavors of the apples. It was a perfect medley of buttery, crispy, creamy, sweet, salty, tart and savory. - Drinks: We were thrown by the $10 price tag on the iced latte, but wow was it worth every penny. Not only gorgeous but it was insanely good with cinnamon, cream, deliciously balanced coffee, and just the right amount of sweetness. My campari and soda was beautiful and refreshing for a hot summer day. Prices felt at first steep, but 3 entrees, 2 specialty drinks and an extra side came out to less than we'd spend on a mediocre dinner. For the quality of the food and experience, way worth it. Added special touch was a birthday sparkler in our French toast - that just pushed the whole experience over the top. From beginning to end, every taste, every interaction, every detail was thoughtful and felt natural. We left with crazy fully bellies and the biggest smiles and glows I can remember. This is what dining out should be (even if our photos don't do the meal justice)!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience here. Came at 8 pm on a Friday and this place was packed. We got the last table. The decor is beautiful and they have outdoor seating for when it's nice out. I started with the goddess and that drink is delicious. I felt somewhat healthy drinking it. Our server recommended I try the garden of Eden next and she had my taste pegged. I don't like overly sweet things, so this was perfect. 10/10 for both drinks. My husband started with the standing ovation. He switched to a standard old fashioned after, which I think he preferred even though the standing ovation was good. I got the mushroom salad with snapper. The mushroom salad is sheer perfection and I would order it again. I found the snapper slightly overcooked and next time will try another protein. I was stuffed so maybe I should try it with shrimp. My husband got the short rib and loved it. He tried to avoid eating a lot of the mashed potatoes so we should substitute it out next time. This place was amazing and I'm so happy we found it. We will be back.

Yelp
I was not going to leave this review as I hate focusing on the negative but I can't stop thinking of how bad this experience was. The atmosphere was fine and the service staff were very friendly but that's where the positive ends. I ordered the vegetarian entree option. I understand that this option can be an afterthought for a chef but this was one of the worst dishes I have ever been served. Flavorless and tasteless, unseasoned with poorly cooked mealy pasta. I had others at the table sample the dish and they thought there was no way a chef or cook actually tasted the dish as if they had it would never had made it out of the kitchen. I left the dish virtually untouched... the waiter came by asked if we needed anything else never asked if all was ok and then cleared the table. Truly a bad experience.

Yelp
Social Roost was a very unexpected YAY for us! We happened to be walking by to a different restaurant but thought the vibe looked fun so opted for dinner. Craft Cocktail list is very impressive and my drink was delicious. I had the Smoke and Mirrors which had mezcal and I had to order a second because the first one went down quickly. Hubby had the Jet Setter featuring delicious flavors coconut rum and pineapple...delish! For dinner I had the Peruvian Chicken and it was incredible. Our server also took my food allergies very seriously and made me feel safe. Hubby had the Ahi Tuna Poke for an appetizer and the Fried Chicken - all fresh and delicious. I loved the interior with their eclectic art and cool decor. Looking forward to trying their brunch soon!

Yelp
We came for a brunch to celebrate my husband's birthday with family. What a great experience! The staff was so nice and kind. The food was unique and delicious! Our server Olivya was fantastic! She was genuine, on top of everything, and so accommodating. She even arranged for a birthday card personally signed by the staff and a lovely dessert for my husband. We really enjoyed our experience there and will be back!

Yelp
A group of us had dinner here while in town for a conference. The cocktail menu is creative, and I enjoyed the Icebreaker which had pear slices on top which was a unique garnish. It was not too sweet to pair with food. I had the chicken tagine for my entree and it was good, but the spice mix wasn't quite as interesting/complex as I've had elsewhere. Service was good, and our server knew the menu well. A heads up that they don't split checks which complicates things when traveling for work and dining with a group; we did sort it out and took photos of the total receipt so we could settle up with each other and then still submit a receipt for reimbursement of each of our meals. We dined outside on a lovely spring evening and enjoyed the people watching!

Yelp
This place was found just walking bye, looked like any other place but walking in it wasn't true. The drinks flowing on a Sunday morning you would have thought it was a Friday evening. The food is absolutely fantastic. I don't think there's a bad meal in the menu

Yelp
Dined for the Second Time for a Friend's BDAY. Sam and Alex were Great. However I will say the Timing of the Cocktails were about a 20 min Wait which felt Longer. Food is Very Heavy in Curry Flavors. Ok Dishes - HATED the Mushroom Salad - EXTREMELY SALTY- We Couldn't Even Eat it and Unfortunately after stating this it was not taken off the Bill. Would MAYBE come back for a Cocktail but wouldn't Come back to Dine.

Yelp
Tried this place with some friends for dinner. I loved the vibe and indoor seating. It's a great aesthetic place to get food with friends. The food was made to serve so it did take a bit of time to get our food. Overall the food was good, and I enjoyed it. The truffle fries were not what I expected, more like wedges. But overall everything tasted good.
google avatar

Yelp
Have stopped by here a few times now and have enjoyed it :) food is good, atmosphere can be a bit hit or miss due to it being quite small and somewhat crowded feeling. If it's a nice day, outside/patio seating seemed to be better. Photos are from our first visit, some time last year. Service has been a bit hit or miss but overall a nice spot for brunch.

Yelp
Social Roost was a hoot, with an apparent rooster theme evident from the portraits around the establishment -- the rooster in a gold paisley tuxedo jacket and the hen lady in a green 1920s-style ballroom dress being the prominent examples. I really dug the modern design of the dining area with the bar to the west side of the establishment as we enjoyed lovely cocktails and dinner during my birthday week. The bar and dining area have a very stylish but modern layout, with teal green chairs for the table seating. The bar area has more clear-style bar stools around the more extended pub tables. We enjoyed cocktails such as the Crowd Pleaser and Paper Plane (which was the bourbon-based one I ordered). For dinner, I enjoyed the DTSP Fried Chicken, Korean-style. It was dredged in buttermilk before deep-frying to perfection and served with a spicy cucumber salad. The portion sizes were quite large, so I ended up eating one of the breasts and saving the other for lunch the next day. Social Roost contains fun vibes, scrumptious food, and alluring cocktails at a conveniently located spot in downtown Saint Petersburg where you can hop to other bars around the block once you're done.

Yelp
From out of town but heard good things about Social Roast. The recommendation did not disappoint. EVERY entree was heavenly! Ambiance was exactly was we were hoping for. Service was very good.

Yelp
Shrimp and grits was so good! And my bartender/server, Paul, gave excellent customer service!

Yelp
We came here for brunch on a Saturday. Upbeat vibe, great service and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. There's indoor and outdoor seating available, street parking available by the meter. We loved our cocktails and food, would definitely go back. A highlight for me was the fried chicken, it was seasoned perfectly, crispy and not dry. The only only thing I felt wasn't perfect was the temperature in the restaurant, it was freezing and people were even going to get sweaters in their car. Other than that, 5 stars.

Yelp
Great night out with friends visiting from Atlanta. We had dinner at Social Roost outside with perfect weather! The menu is extensive so it was great everybody had something they wanted! I enjoyed the fabulous curry mussels appetizer as my dinner. Big portion. Hubby enjoyed the chicken and waffles. Our friends loved the chicken pot pie and shrimp and grits. I highly recommend the French martini! Delish! Great location DTSP and close to all the bars and sites for an after dinner stroll! Definitely will be back!

Yelp
So the food was excellent, omg I had the chicken and waffles and I was so impressed. I received two nice size pieces of chicken and a large waffle. The syrup was even some of the best I've ever had. My wife had the roost brekkie board and she said that it was so delicious and just enough for her. Also our food came out very fast, even though it was a Sunday around brunch. We had a party of ten including me and my wife and each one of the other parties said that they thoroughly enjoyed their food. It looked like everyone else had a clear plate. Our server "Sam" was on top of it and her customer service was really good. My only complaint was the parking ( downtown St Pete ) situation and that it was very cold inside. So pack your patience and a jacket and you'll have a great experience. This place is worth a visit and I'll definitely come back.

Shary E.

Yelp
Good food, service and decor. Would like more gf options, but everything was fine. I don't know if it's in my top ten, but it's worth a try.

Yelp
Until recently, I'd only stopped into Social Roost for cocktails. I was pleasantly surprised by their menu however. The entire restaurant isn't terribly big, but they do have outdoor seating. We were able to snag a 7pm reservation here last minute on a Friday. I wasn't super hungry so I got one of their appetizers and paired it with their Chardonnay from Mendoza. The appetizer was the fish cakes and it was honestly so delicious. Basically everything on the menu sounded really good so it was hard to decide. The menu isn't very extensive but I think that adds to the quality and care of what you ultimately order. The one downside is that they actually ran out of some desserts when we were debating ordering some, so that was a letdown. Beyond that, it's a great spot to be in with a group or a date, and the quality is very prominent.
google avatar

Ileana S.

Yelp
I can't recommend this place enough. The service was so friendly, helpful, and fast (Thanks Lily!). The food was fresh and delicious and the vibe was very relaxed yet vibrant.

Hana F.

Yelp
Food was amazing but the restaurant was way too hot. I'm the one who brings jackets to restaurants because I am easily cold. Every table at the restaurant was fanning themselves with the drink menu. Even the workers are sweating. Wish i could give it 5 stars but everyone is extremely uncomfortable
google avatar

Yelp
Great vibe, trendy food, good location. Went for brunch, service was a tad slow but they are always busy on the weekend so just come patient. Reservations highly recommended.

Yelp
Sit at the bar if it's just two of you! They have amazing food and drinks, and watching them make the drinks is fun. The bartenders are fun and make it worth it!

Yelp
We really loved our dinner here at this restaurant. They have a wide variety of dishes and I love how many vegetarian options they had. We especially loved the mushroom salad and the ricotta and honey toast. Those were excellent dishes. There were also good dishes, such as the collaborate chili, macaroni and cheese, the spring rolls, and the bruschetta. I will say the bruschetta pieces were quite overwhelming, and I would definitely recommend them making these smaller in the future. The service was great and they were very accommodating. Oh, and I also have to mention that the cocktails were really delicious too. That price point was pretty reasonable as well. Given the quality and size of the portions. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely go back. I recommend you check this place out if you're in the Saint Petersburg downtown area.

Yelp
Stepping into this beautifully decorated restaurant was like entering a hidden gem. With its popularity soaring, getting reservations proved to be a challenge, but it was well worth the effort. The ambiance was enhanced by the stunning scenery and the captivating music that filled the air. And let's not forget about the craft cocktails, which were plentiful and expertly crafted. One thing that sets this place apart is the ability to customize the specialty craft cocktails to suit your taste. While some may prefer to choose their favorite brand of alcohol, I decided to leave it to the mixologist's expertise. The result was a drink that took me by surprise and captured my heart. The Little Rascal, a blend of High West Bourbon, Ron Zacapa Rum, Strega Liquor, Lemon, Ginger, and Honey, was a true masterpiece. The 1915 French 75 with Bombay was good, but tasted closer to a lemon drop. Although it wasn't exactly what was expected, it was still enjoyable, so we decided to stick with it. Needless to say, we couldn't resist indulging in a couple more drinks each throughout the evening, a clear sign of our appreciation. The menu at this restaurant can be described as a fusion of comfort and innovation. The dishes offered a tantalizing mix of familiar flavors with a modern twist. The theme of modern elegance was beautifully reflected in the decor. I loved the art! After enjoying our first round of cocktails, we decided to try the Scallop Ceviche. While the presentation was visually appealing, we found that it lacked a bit of flavor to truly elevate the dish. Nonetheless, it was a small hiccup in an otherwise delightful dining experience. For the main course, I highly recommend trying the Peruvian Chicken and the Short Rib. The Peruvian Chicken was a delightful combination of tender meat, Rice & Beans, Sweet Plantains, Citrus Pico, and Pio Pio Sauce. Each element on the plate worked harmoniously to create a burst of flavors. The Short Rib, accompanied by Butter Whipped Potatoes, Rainbow Swiss Chard, Red Wine Beef Demi Glace, and Fried Shallots, was a melt-in-your-mouth experience that left us longing for more. We savored every bite, ultimately eating until our bellies were happily satisfied.

William E.

Yelp
The food was great, very unique very tasty! Service was impeccable. Lastly John, our host was very friendly and very professional and made our special day wonderful. I had never been there before, but it will not be the last time. Thank you all the staff at social roost for making our evening memorable.

Yelp
Cool restaurant with a lounge type of vibe. Love the glittery back wall and animal artwork. This place is known for chicken but there are a lot of other good items on the menu. I like that they have a bunch of small plates in case you're not that hungry. I had the small plate of chicken quesadillas and those were perfect for me. Other dishes people in my party ordered were the chicken pot pies, snapper, fish cakes and truffle fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal. At the end we ordered bread pudding to go and had the coconut ice cream it came with at the restaurant. It was very yummy. I would recommend making reservations as this place got pretty busy.
google avatar

JC O.

Yelp
A "globally inspired menu," this little dive has a creative yet simple menu. The presentation is excellent, the staff is friendly, the price is inflated considerably but you're paying for the location and environment. The seating outside is an acquired taste, lots of local foot traffic, but it's fun and the menu is fresh. It's a great alternative to the cramped and overpriced Bayshore options. Recommend if you're in downtown St Pete.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, Social Roost is a beacon for food enthusiasts seeking a blend of comfort and innovation in their dining experience. From the moment you step in, the cozy ambiance sets the stage for a memorable meal. Social Roost's interior is a perfect blend of modern elegance and rustic charm. Warm lighting, plush seating, and tasteful décor create an inviting atmosphere that is both upscale and relaxed. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that diners feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout their visit. The chicken was flavorful and the waffle was done perfectly where it was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The rise and shine espresso martini was good but I thought was overpriced at $16. They provide an impressive drink menu with wine, craft cocktails and local brews. Social roost is a culinary gem, offering delicious food, excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
I love coming here and ordering the spicy Thai curry mussels. It's always the highlight of whatever we order. But our last visit the mussels were either WAY overcooked or reheated. I think they we reheated. This is a huge no for mussels. Sauce was just as delicious as usual, but the mussels were mushy. We ate 5 or so and they were all this way. Maybe they have a new chef? I'll still be back and will be sure to leave a new and hopefully improved review.
google avatar

Rob L.

Yelp
I've been to Social Roost for brunch before, but the other weekend was the first time we went for dinner, and it was equally as good. We had an excellent server and decided to sit outside. They have a great outdoor seating area, and decent people watching. To start, I got a beer and my wife got the Pinkies Up cocktail, and she wouldn't stop raving about it. Since we had been eating and drinking all day, I opted for a little lighter dinner. I shared the Chicken Samosas and got the Southwest Chicken Cobb Salad as my main. It was filling and delicious, nowhere near a boring salad. If you are ever in downtown St Pete, I would highly recommend stopping here for food or drinks!

Elia L.

Yelp
We were visiting family and found this cute place for brunch. Our server was extremely attentive and amicable. Gets really crowded, recommend going early. Food was very flavorful with great portions. I recommend the restaurant. Things to note: There's no parking at the restaurant. You need to find parking along the streets. They also don't have specialty coffee, even simple cappuccino. They only serve regular American coffee.
google avatar

Paula R.

Yelp
The ambiance is beautiful, quite unique. I found the service to be slow. Particularly, once we were complete with our meals, we were searching for our server to get the check. The food was just okay. I was expecting extraordinary and it did not meet that. I had the short ribs and while the flavors were there, it was too salty for me to really enjoy the food. So thankful for the potatoes as I would not have been able to eat. No, I did not send it back as we were already dining late and I was nearly outside my dining window. He ordered the meatballs and wings and his words were, it was fine. The pinkies up drink was delicious.

Yelp
**** Review 144 **** Stopped in for brunch with a client, first time dining here for the both of us. I was very surprised at the menu, and even more surprised at the fabulously delicious Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was crispy on the outside, yet juicy and tender on the inside. Amazing flavor and when mixed with the smoked maple syrup your mouth will be in heaven. The waffle was cooked perfectly, soft yet crispy, with a fluffy flavor. The restaurant open with a very well stocked full bar, and also with outside seating. If you love brunch, this is a great place to visit.

Yelp
I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to leave a review. However, I am leaving one so that they can learn from their mistakes. I took myself out last night, and could've have dined anywhere, but I decided on this place due to the proximity of the movie theater, and the menu looked appealing. The restaurant was what would be considered "dead" in hospitality terms. There were many open seating options. They decided to sit me near the restroom. It took about 10 -15 minutes before a server stopped by with water and to take my order. This again is odd, being how the restaurant was not busy. My appetizer, drinks and entree arrived in time. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately, the attentiveness of the wait staff ended after I received my entree. I waited for about 15-20 minutes to get the check. I was in direct view of the hostess stand as I watched my server going through social media on her phone the entire time, waiting for her to look up so that I could call her over. Instead, I had to grab the attention of the person tending to the bar as they passed by. I'm usually a generous tipper, being that serving is what got me through my undergrad. However, it pained me to leave a normal tip due to the below average service. All I have to say is that you cannot treat people like an afterthought in the hospitality industry. It is not enough to have good food, a niche atmosphere, and an instagram worthy floor layout. Hospitality is a people business. This oversight is what deters potential patrons. I really wish the experience would have been different, but if I wanted to be treated like this, I could've gone to a Panera or something of that nature.

Yelp
Exciting place with wonderful staff! They took care of every need and the drinks and food were outstanding! We shared everything equally and that was wise as it was plentiful. The look and vibe of the place was equally enjoyable --can't wait to return on my next visit to the area.

Yelp
Nice place to have brunch! There is outdoor and indoor seating. We sat outside and it worked for our group of 7. Thankfully, it wasn't disgustingly hot. We ordered multiple entrees and personally my pork belly was the best on the table. The drinks were also refreshing. The service, top notch. I posted their happy hour times in the photos. Overall, a great experience.

Yelp
We came for Sunday brunch and were very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and the exceptional service. We started with a virgin Bloody Mary and espresso martini; Bloody Mary is on the spicy side, but good. The martini was one of the better ones - not too bitter, and mixed nicely. Ordered the chicken & waffles as well as biscuit and gravy. Biscuit and gravy are not on the menu, but we ordered a la carte and put them together. Gravy is not the traditional southern style, but still flavorful. The chicken and waffles are massive- served with two huge perfectly fried breasts, bacon butter and a waffle. Highly recommend this dish. The prices are on the higher side, but the food is curated as are the drinks, so we would definitely go back.

Yelp
I'd give them a 4.5. We went for dinner last night. The service was absolutely amazing. I wish I knew her name to call her out here. The food was good. Best thing on the menu (we tried about 10 dishes among our group) was the Curry Mussels. Its an app, but so good I could eat it as a main. The Seafood Scampi (nightly special) was fantastic. The Peruvian chicken was great. Butter Chicken was an absolute no from me - didn't resemble butter chicken at all and I didn't like it a bit. Short rib was good. Cookies and Milk for dessert was a yes. Bread pudding a no. Inside the restaurant is really nice. Good vibes, good for a date night or work dinner.

Yelp
Enjoyed an amazing brunch here during our girls trip weekend. Everything was absolutely delightful from the service to the decor and especially the delicious food and cocktails. Our table decided to share a few of the dishes and this was the best decision as we were able to try the different flavors. One of my favorites was the Shakshuka it was so well made and bursting with flavors it left me craving more! The shrimp and grits were also really good. I had high expectations for the brunch bowl however this was my least favorite. To end our brunch we ordered the Apple Stuffed French Toast. Typically I'm not a fan of french toast but this was heavenly!! If you go here PLEASE order this for a sweet light treat at the end of your meal. You wont regret it, I promise! I'll definitely return here when visiting St. Pete!

Yelp
Excellent brunch, the food selection and drinks were great! Our waiter Matt was excellent, very attentive and engaging. Ordered the ice breaker it was delicious, like a pear ginger martini. The out door seating is nice and excellent for people watching.

Yelp
I took my friends for brunch, and social roost was the perfect spot, good food, great ambiance, and excellent service. Today was my lucky day, I found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. It's was the first time for my friends and the third for me. I had the chicken and waffles, and it was as good as the last time I ate there. My friends were satisfied with their choices as well. To me, it's one of the best places for brunch, and I don't mind driving 45 minutes to come there. It's a 5 for me always!

Yelp
We were in downtown St. Petersburg after visiting the amazing Dali Museum that is nearby when we decided to grab a mid-afternoon meal. Social Roost pooped up as the top-rated restaurant in the area, and in some circles, best in St. Pete. Since it was 3 pm in the first week of August, we basically had the restaurant to ourselves. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which was amazing. Two large pieces of chicken meant I had one to take home for dinner later that night. My only complaint was that they were a little light on the syrup, but I was probably better off. The strawberries on top really gave it an extra zing. Since we were the only people in the place, service was fantastic. Some great, eclectic artwork on the walls added to the atmosphere. I'm sure it was even more so when it is crowded.

Yelp
In St. Petersburg for work and was able to catch Sunday Brunch at Social Roost. Located in Downtown St. Pete, Social Roost is what you expect for a local brunch restaurant, great decor and music. Unfortunately, Social Roost is very popular and limited on seating indoors. They do have outdoor seating but the weather was not cooperating. They also require reservations, but was able to get bar seating to have breakfast. Bartenders were attentive to take drink orders as well as answer questions regarding the menu and offer recommendations based on your interests. Went with their simple breakfast, a traditional eggs, potatoes and protein of your choice but also served with a generous portion of collard green that were amazingly seasoned. Prices were what you expect for brunch and the food was worth it. Social Roost was a great time and will get the chance to visit for dinner. I highly recommend visiting if your in the area.

Yelp
I would come back to St. Petersburg again and again just to experience this place. There were more things as a whole we ordered not pictured and we loved the story behind this restaurant as well. Our waitress went above and beyond our whole time dining and I think more wait staff, restaurants, etc. need to take a page out of her book. She went to the extent of giving the chef our feedback that we would love to try her new flair on the Bread Pudding & the chef came to visit our table. I feel awful because our waitresses name doesn't come directly to mind but I'm sure the owners know exactly who it is. The bartender was great to give recommendations as well for more places to visit in the area for an experience. You can tell this whole staff, at lest from our experience with the hostess, etc. truly do enjoy being part of this brand. The aesthetic of the restaurant was also so cool, fun art & just a great atmosphere as a whole. Most all of us either finished our plates or wished we could because portion sizes were amazing. Things we got that aren't pictured; Bruschetta, Southwest Chicken Cobb Salad, Pesto Pasta, Chicken Pot Pie and Chicken Parmesan. Also, cocktails galore. There was a group of us and can't recall all drinks but what I had ordered was to the back is the menu and included Gin.

Yelp
Third time at this place. Always loved it. This time samosas were greasy. The chicken Milanese was so dry and salty. It tasted like it had been microwaved. The Peruvian chicken was excellent. The Caesar salad was good but missing anchovies which I was told I'd have to pay extra for. So we were disappointed. This was a special occasion for my husband's birthday. Service was fine.

Yelp
My wife and I were recommended this place by some friends. So for my birthday we went ahead and visited. We loved the "feel" of it. Great modern art, the background music was great and although it was packed we were still able to talk and not feel like it was too loud. The service was pretty good. Our server was kind and helpful, but not very quick. If I could give service an individual rating it would be a 4. The food was GREAT. We highly recommend the check samosas for an app. I got the short rib and it was fantastic. Great portions, flavor and plating. My wife got the Peruvian chicken dish. Also a great portion and great flavor. Their green sauce was fantastic and I would have loved more of it. Dessert we both got the brownie with ice cream. It's worth every penny! Excuse the pictures, it was a little dark.

Yelp
Food was REALLY GOOD!! Chicken & Waffles was big enough for 2-4 people. The size of the chicken was HUGE!! Olivia did a great job treating us with the upmost hospitality!!
