Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences

We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Ambassador. The location is unbeatable—walking distance to Lotte World Mall (and the amusement/theme park) and Lotte Tower, yet quietly overlooking the serene Seokchon Lake. The lake-view room was a highlight in itself: calming, spacious for a couple and a small kid, and offering some of the best morning and evening views you’ll find anywhere in the city. The staff deserve special mention. Every interaction—from reception to housekeeping—was marked by attentiveness, courtesy, and a genuine desire to make our stay comfortable. It’s the kind of service that stays with you. Overall, Sofitel Ambassador combines convenience, beautiful surroundings, and thoughtful hospitality. Highly recommended, and we’d happily stay again.

We just checked in today and are already amazed by this hotel. We usually stay at Marriott properties and recently joined Accor, and this hotel is by far superior for the same star rating. The service from arrival to check-in has been some of the best we’ve ever experienced. The room is simply divine. Yes, it’s a bit further from some of the popular tourist spots, but there’s so much to do nearby, Lotte World, the aquarium, Lotte World Tower, great (endless) shopping options, and KidZania for families. It’s also close to Gangnam. We’d happily travel a bit further from the airport to stay in such a beautiful hotel. We’re not using the pool this time, but we’re already thinking about returning as a family because of the great kids’ facilities. A special thank you to Summer for the warm and amazing welcome! We could tell that you genuinely care for your customers. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seoul.

We had a lovely three day stay at the Sofitel Ambassador. The hotel is conveniently located near Jamsil station, Lotte World Amusement Park, Lotte Tower, and Lotte World Mall. We really enjoyed utilizing this hotel as a home base as we explored the city! The rooms are large and new - We were luckily upgraded to a Park View room overlooking Lotte Amusement Park and Lotte Tower. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery from our window. Staff were fantastic - Always very welcoming and spoke perfect English. The rooms are soundproof and very quiet. We very much enjoyed out stay and would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Seoul!

So far in a couple of nights of our 10-day stay and the experience has been amazing. The hotel staff from the 1st floor doorman and concierge are extremely polite and nice. I appreciate how they greet you literally every single time. Our check-in experience was one of the best to date, and Ms. Selene Lee (이소현님) was the epitome of professionalism and good service, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed by how welcome and special she made us feel. This hotel seems to be of more recently built and the quality of the room, bathroom, hallway, and elevators are very nice. Some older luxury hotels can be bit worn down or musky but Sofitel is just clean and suave. Plenty of outlets and light control and they have something called Genie which is a Korean version of Hey Google or Alexa. The housekeeping service is top tier with the cleaning and organizing of the room. The room view is great with the lake! You might want to just go for the lakeview over the more luxury options. Just make sure you are high enough and east enough to clear the top of lotte mall. The swimming pool, fitness, and amenities are awesome and the breakfast buffet is one of the best we have had. The location of this hotel is just spot on with easy access to the buses across the street, easy walk to the subway 2 and 8 lines, and plenty of shopping and food options nearby. Honestly this spot in Jamsil is the place to be in Seoul in my opinion. So far we are having a lovely experience which I hope continues thru our check out at the end of next week. **Update after completing the 10-day stay** I will not reduce the star because the overall stay was very pleasant and it contributed to overall positive experience of this Korea trip. However, there were some cons that are noteworthy: 1. There were times, especially in middle of the night, when the sewage odor came up from the bathroom. We kept the bathroom door closed which helped, and let the front desk know. The smell did eventually go away and our last days were just fine. 2. The shower floor doesn't drain the water easily. They should have made it slightly slanted so the water slides down to the drain. But it gets bit messy how the water wells up. 3. Hot water valve change is very slow. We had a bit of tough time adjusting the water temperature to the perfect level. It always takes a while for the hot water to come on, you have to leave the shower on for few minutes. Lastly, if someone uses the toilet or sink why you are showering the water temp jumps up and gets very hot. So it's mostly bathroom/pipe/sewage related. These are hard to fix but if they get to it, it's a near perfect hotel.

This has been one of the best hotels we have stayed. ||Prior to us arriving in Seoul, they responded to all my requests and questions such as restaurant bookings and airport transfers without any issues. ||We booked a limo transfer and we were duly picked up at the airport. When we arrived at the hotel, Cherry was there to welcome us. She guided us thro the hotel and got us checked in. The room key caused a problem so Cherry took us to the guest services area in 5th floor. ||Every staff we met were extremely gracious and very pleasant. ||Our room was absolutely amazing. It was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. We had an amazing river and view of the highest building!||Our hotel is right beside the Lotte Mall and line 2 subway so it is extremely convenient. The whole area is extremely clean and spacious. ||We know this is not exactly city center but we love the hotel. The restaurants they recommended were absolutely superb. ||This is a great hotel. Amazing staff. Excellent location.

The room was nice. No storage for your clothes, unfortunately. Just a lack of drawers in the room. The elevator situation is also annoying where you have to catch two separate elevators to get to your room. The staff were nice, but i had to sign a waiver just to take my half eaten meal from their restaurant up to my room. Nice spot. Good location. Wouldn't visit again.

I loved my room the moment I walked in! The mix of lighting and a neutral white/gray aesthetic with a fantastic view was striking and elegant. I also loved the control center screen. Breakfast was excellent every morning, and I loved all the options available. The only things I didn't love were the loose plugs and having to wait at two elevator banks to leave/return the hotel.

I had a truly pleasant stay at the Sofitel Ambassador Hotel in Seoul. The room was beautifully appointed, offering both comfort and an impressive view of the city. The hotel’s location is highly convenient, with easy access to nearby transportation options and shopping malls. I greatly appreciated the high standard of cleanliness maintained throughout the property, as well as the excellent range of facilities provided.
