"And Son & Garden, its newest restaurant, already with 12,000 followers, followed with an over-the-top tea-party set, filled with finger sandwiches, pastries, tea, and rosebuds. Fifteen hundred of those have sold so far." - Becky Duffett

For a special occasion, my two friends and I decided to visit this restaurant known for its garden setting. I was hoping for a beautiful, flowery ambiance, but unfortunately, that was lacking. The food, however, was decent. The crispy chicken was quite good, but the other two dishes were just okay. The crab dish, priced at $29, was particularly disappointing and didn’t feel worth the cost. Overall, the food seemed overpriced for the quality. For one entrée and a drink, it came to almost $50, including tips ,I feel the prices don’t match the food quality

Such a gorgeous spot for a girls’ brunch! This location — outdoor patio seating only, but they had plenty of heat lamps to keep it cozy. The floral decor and garden vibes were beautiful, and the service was amazing — super attentive and friendly! We ordered the Son & Garden Omelet, Bibimbap in a stone pot, and the Ricotta Pancakes — everything was so flavorful and beautifully plated. Loved sipping hot tea in the cutest tea sets, and of course, rounds of mimosas and Aperol spritz is a must!

If you're looking for an over-the-top aesthetically pleasing brunch spot to share on your social media, you already know this is the place. Part of the Farmhouse Kitchen Conglomerate, this Son & Daughter location is honestly better than the San Francisco one. You're here for the gram and to hang with your besties, but the food isn't too bad either. Although some of the fusion dishes can be questionable. The menu is a mix of some traditional brunch items with an Asian fusion mix. The staff is friendly and fast with a few small hiccups we experienced during our last visit. Overall, while I wished the execution and taste were up to par with the visuals, you can't deny the aesthetics of the place.

I am in love with this restaurant. The Vibes, the food and atmosphere is top notch. Me and my girlfriends spend a Lovely Brunch at this location. The staffs are amazing and very friendly. They were able to show and explain to us the menu and the house specials for the day. We opted to sit outside and it has a cozy vibes embraced with lots of colorful flowers. Food is excellent as each and every dish is prepared with Love and art. I am obsessed with their blueberry panacotta pancake with warm maple syrup, also try their sakura latte- it resembles like a rose latte, creamy and aromatic💕

Google
Super cute and aesthetic brunch place! We made reservations so there was no wait. The coffee and seasonal sakura latte came in cute cups and tasted pretty good. We ordered the Son&Garden Omelet and the Salmon Benedict. The omelet was really tasty and while the salmon benedict was good I felt that it lacked some extra flavour and have had better elsewhere. Overall a good meal and the staff was very nice!

Love the food here as always. They always provide quality food and presentation it so well to welcome the guest. I love Tokyo cocktail which is the special here. You can reserve special afternoon tea set 48 hrs in advance. Beautiful decoration and the only downside it’s the Cal Train station next to it which is very loud since all seating areas are outdoor. However, I would love to come back to try out different dishes next time. They have a well decorated room for taking photos.

Google
One of the best and most chic breakfast/brunch places in the town. The outdoor seating is very airy and pleasant. The menu is quite exciting and elaborate. The customer service was amazing. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Must try the beautiful Brioche French toast. It is full of flavors bursting into your mouth. The best part of this restaurant, besides the ambiance and food, is the photo room to get some unique clicks at this chic place.

I came, I saw, I devoured. I'd seen this place on social media and been wanting to check it out for a while. It did not disappoint. The decor was really unique and cool with all of the flowers everywhere. The drinks looked really cool, but they were a bit too sweet (except the green one). Service was good and the food was great! I had the Short Rib Benedict. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of it. I'm not a runny egg guy personally, but that dish was banging. Everyone else enjoyed their selections as well. The price was a bit high, but worth the experience in my opinion. Would definitely come back and recommend to others. Food: 4.5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Price: 3.5/5 Service: 4.4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Overall: 4.3/5

Yelp
Son & Garden re-opened in Menlo Park. I'd always seen long lines outside but never dined there, by accident I saw they were open and it turned out it was their first day re-opening. What an absolute delight it was to dine there. My manager and I were immediately greeted by Gia and had great seating options outside and the seats felt like they were heated but it wasn't, it was just so cozy and comfortable. I ordered the French toast, which was probably the best French toast I've ever had with eggs over medium and a latte. My Manager had the Benedict. My French toast came beautifully plated, topped with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and a slice of orange and mint sprinkled with powdered sugar. I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed this breakfast, though I had it for lunch. They will be open 7 days a week, I'm not sure how long it will take me to try everything because I plan on going often if everything on the menu tastes as amazing as my French toast. My manager throughly enjoyed her Benedict, too. The service was on point, we were also greeted by Pooja, Manager/owner who was just so lovely. They have other restaurants in San Francisco, Oakland, etc. I wish if they had one in San Jose. Price point is pretty reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. Pooja mentioned they also do catering, so I'm sure my company will consider them for upcoming events. Located next door to their other restaurant Farmhouse, which is another fantastic restaurant. Run, don't walk to Son and Garden before everyone realizes they re-opened, though, I'd happily stand in line to dine here.

Yelp
Amazing Return to Form! I was thrilled to see this breakfast spot reopen, and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with the staff as friendly and attentive as ever. The menu has all the beloved classics, plus a few exciting new additions. I tried the [insert specific dish], and it was absolutely divine--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The coffee was rich and freshly brewed, and the [insert another dish/item] was a delightful surprise. The attention to detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the overall cleanliness and ambiance, was impeccable. It's clear the team has put a lot of effort into making this reopening special, and it shows. I'm so happy to have this gem back in my life! I'll definitely be returning soon and recommending it to everyone I know.

Yelp
Now Son and Garden Menlo Park is back. Missing their ricotta pancake. Great breakfast and brunch spot. Very convenient location. I mean there are a lot of parking spaces. They brought the giraffe back and it is very stunning on the instagram post. Well done guys

Yelp
Not really worth the hype. Definitely more for the grams than the food... If anything a light bite and drinks with friends and take lots and lots of cute photos. Love the faux wisteria though and floral interior decor. Service isn't great either.

Yelp
Was it great? No. Was it the worst? No. Was it anything special? Not really. If you are an Instagram influencer who cares more about getting pretty photos than enjoying your food, please skip my review. This is the perfect spot to Instagram- they even set up a ring light for you. However, if you go to restaurant for good food, like I do. I'd recommend you to think twice. We (party of 5) had a reservation at 10AM on a Sunday morning. It wasn't busy at the time and we got seated pretty quickly. We ordered coffees for the table but none of them were hot, which was obvious that the coffee was not freshly brewed. Which is fine, it's not the best, but it's fine. We'll just drink some and get a top off to warm it up later, so I thought. We got our orders in (morning beef stew, loco moco, omelet and country Benedict). And they came out pretty fast- but get this, none of them were hot. I had the morning beef stew, mash potato? Lukewarm, beef? Lukewarm, sauce? Lukewarm. And then, we got a refill on the coffee, I bet you already know, it was lukewarm. How? Why? Is this restaurant allergic to making anything hot? Then they started to play club music (10:30AM), hey- nothing wrong with that, it's your business, do what you want. But if you, my friend, enjoy having conversation with the people you breakfast with. Go somewhere else. Style over substances for sure. Will not return, do not recommend.

Yelp
Aesthetics, stellar. Food, just so so. Son & Garden had been on my list for a while before I was in the area so I was happy to get a chance to check it out during my trip! We were able to snag a last min table reservation for brunch so we sauntered on over. There is paid parking in the area if you can't easily find free street parking. This is also near the CalTrain station in case you aren't driving and using public transit to visit from elsewhere. They have a 10 min grace period which saved us while we scrounged for parking! My friends got the omelet and a benedict whereas I went for the portabella mushroom benedict. We also ordered a french toast to share. Foodwise they liked theirs but I will say that my mushroom benedict left so much to be desired. I adore mushrooms but these were not seasoned or cooked well -- also...this was a benedict with 0 hollandaise sauce? I will say it definitely could have used it because the whole thing was BLAND. The best part of the dish was the hunk of bread that everything was sitting on top of l o l I also love love potatoes but the rainbow potatoes on the side were just good, not great. The french toast was way better than my dish but still not very memorable. My friends both seemed to enjoy their food items but both stated that our brunch the previous day was much better. Overall, Son & Garden is beautiful inside and out and the food is presented in a really cute/pretty manner. However, I expect more from the food itself -- aka taste, flavor, balance -- when I'm paying these prices.

Hurjane V.

Yelp
Parking here is kinda confusing - I think you can just pay if you park at the Caltrain station and then walk over. Reservations are probably best if you have a larger party/don't like to wait. Service was great - quick and efficient. The food was actually yummy too! The drinks looked fun. The cotton candy drink was not that good, but the espresso was. All the main entrees were yummy too - nothing to complain and don't think you can go wrong. Cute spot for dates or get togethers!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Son & Garden for forever now and finally got the chance! We made a reservation since it can get pretty crowded. Between three people, we shared the korean benedict, loco moco, and deep fried french toast. All of them were delicious and super photo worthy! Although it is definitely on the pricer side for a meal, the aesthetics of both the food and the ambiance as well as the unique korean spin on classic brunch makes it worth it on those treat yourself days. Loco moco - packed with rich flavors in the patty and sauce and was definitely filling but not overwhelmingly heavy. Korean benedict - a unique spin on eggs benny that came with a rib and kimchi fried rice. The meat was super tender and went well with the rice, eggs, and potatoes. Deep fried french toast - perfect if you like sweet breakfast items - almost tasted like a fluffy cake. Although I wouldn't necessarily frequent Son & Garden due to price, I would definitely come back if given the chance!

Yelp
I've always seen this place on Instagram and TikTok and finally had a chance to come with my team! It feels like every girls dream inside. Everything about this place is aesthetically pleasing! They even have a little corner to take photos in. The food was average but definitely very presentable and pretty to look at. The Barbie themed cocktails was a highlight!

Sherman T.

Yelp
High tea? Yes! An interesting take on the traditional tea time dining experience with themed presentations (Barbie) as well as standard brunch and lunch options. Given the niche dining experience, reservations are recommended. Parking can be tough in the city but on the street and in the lot across the street, there are a few spots good for about two hours - plenty of time to dine. The restaurant itself doesn't look like much from afar but once you get within a few feet, you'll appreciate how beautifully decorated the interior is. There's a patio area that is somewhat enclosed with curtains and as you continue walking further in, you'll find a grand hall lined with long tables for larger parties. I can envision this room being booked for a small event. This whole place is very picturesque, but starting from the entrance, you'll see a embroidered chair surrounded by a wall of faux flowers, and facing it, a light stand with a clip for your phone to take the perfect picture to capture this visit. There typically seems to be a line but it goes by fast. There are a few props you can hold to add a bit more color to your selfie. A bit gimmicky but it's fun! We didn't do the high tea option and instead opted for the brunch a la carte menu, however we did observe a few other patrons (mostly kids and their guests) participating in the high tea experience. We came here for a birthday celebration and it wasn't much - we received a song from the staff and a candle on one of the dishes we ordered (it wasn't even the one the kid ordered). You'd think that a place with a high price point would do a bit more but nope. Not a big deal as we weren't expecting much but it just felt lackluster regardless. Service was decent, nothing exceptional. We were seated in the tight corner squeezed by one of the mobile heaters. They didn't offer to move it - just kind of told us to deal with it with a smile and "please". There were clearly more tables available (inside too which would have been nice during this chilly day) - I don't think reservations are made for individual tables; they just place you wherever they see fit. They also almost served us someone else's food so some other folks might have had a bad experience with the delay in their food. The food we did order was pretty delicious and plated with style. One thing that was a bit disappointing was that the Eggs Benedicts aren't actually served with English muffins but instead a single slice of rye. I don't think you can even call it an Eggs Benedict at that point. Loco Moco - tasty and well portioned. Pretty filling and the meat was cooked well. Smoked Salmon Benedict - hearty flavors and good variety of ingredients. Eggs and asparagus were cooked perfectly. Great sauces. Fried Chicken Benedict - big crispy piece of chicken. Pretty juice on the inside. Pretty filling! French Toast - good amount of fruit so the tartness balanced with the sweetness. Not bad, but portions of this dish was just okay. Drinks were alright. Nothing to rave about. Overpriced, severely. Overall, this is a good option for high tea (as there aren't too many options to begin with) and great for a photoshoot. The food taste great but a bit on the pricier side. You can get comparable dishes (maybe even tastier) elsewhere at about 30% less in price but you won't get the beautiful scenery and selfie photo. Service is forgettable. It's definitely worth a visit, but maybe not more than once unless you're coming with new guests each time.

Michelle L.

Yelp
I've been here so many times..and every time I still love it! The brunch ends up pricey if you get alcoholic drinks, but it's a great spot for celebrations or gatherings. In terms of food, I love the Korean fusion flavors. This time, I tried the Korean benedict and it was delicious! It came with short rib and fried rice, and the portion size was big enough for leftovers. It was on the pricier end ($37). In terms of ambiance, this place is so aesthetic! I love the floral decor, and there's even a tripod with a backdrop for you and your friends to take photos :) Make sure to make reservations ahead of time! This place can get very busy on the weekends.

Fumika T.

Yelp
We came here for the vibes, and was impressed with the food. Just a warning this location is next to the train tracks so you get minor interruptions from the train and it doesn't have much parking so it's a bit of a walk. Thankfully it was Friday brunch and we also had a reservation so it didn't have any lines or parties waiting as I saw in social media. We ordered Bear Belly Benedict, Kimchi Fried Rice, an omelette, pancakes, chai latte, green tea latte, chamomile tea, and Japanese sencha. I honestly didn't expect much from the food because I thought people came for the decor as well, but everything was amazing. Right now they're doing a $55 per person (2 people minimum) Barbie tea set. A lot of tables has that and it looked cute! But you can't keep the Barbie unfortunately. This would have been a 5 star review if I didn't I get food poisoning from the Benedict. Everyone had a great time and I can't wait to come back (but next time will be having my eggs well done).

Ingrid L.

Yelp
This place was crowded! There was a line at the front for walk-ins and luckily we had a reservation. Even with the reservation, we had a wait a bit before we could get seated. This restaurant is an influencer's dream. There are flowers hanging from all over and there is a flower wall for some selfies, so come in a cute outfit! The food was presented beautifully! The dishes themselves were good but not as delicious as presented. This could be because I felt the food should have been warmer than served but this could be because it takes a bit of time to curate the plate into this presentation.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place to go and have brunch! When we arrived, there was only a few other couples having breakfast/brunch. We got greeted by staff and she asked if we had reservations? We said, "no" which wasn't a problem. She seated us and told us to scan the "QR" code to view the menu. However, the server was too slow so she handed us an actual menu. After reviewing it we decided what we wanted. Drinks: - under the sea 3.5/5 a bit strong -cloud9 4/5 really pretty Food: -beer belly sandwich 5/5 really good -scramble egg 4/5 overall, the ambience and service is good. would consider coming back.

Duane L.

Yelp
Make a mistake and went to the wrong location bit luckily they are just ~10-15 mins away. Redwood city one at the time was themed barbie and they went pretty hard on the theme. Think they were going for the Instagram aesthetic for people who like barbie. Even the servers were dressed in pink Barbie aprons. I got their ricotta pancakes and Sunday funday drink. Pancakes were nice and fluffy, and drink was vodka based and enjoyable. I would say def a place to go to once for the experience. A bit on the pricier dodge but you are paying for the presentation too.

Alesia D.

Yelp
Public/street parking is slim pickings, especially on the weekends. Avoid the place altogether if it's a rainy day. You have to stand outside to wait for your table, and it could take a while. I came for a bridal shower. It was scheduled way in advance, but we waited outside for a half hour waiting. We kept having to ask the host for updates. There's a small picture room with a chair and ring light for pics. This area can get busy and congested, but people are really patient and polite. It's a small restaurant and can get crowded fast! The food is really good. Everyone got something different, and none of us left disappointed. So if you're wondering what to get, close your eyes point and get whatever your finger lands on. They serve alcohol but I didn't try any. However, the espresso martini looked amazing and had great reviews from those who ordered it.

Thanh T.

Yelp
I've been to the Palo Alto location but this was my first time at the Menlo Park location. Had some friends in from out of town so I wanted to take them somewhere fun. This one definitely had more room too. And oh so aesthetically pleasing. Loved that they had a selfie area with a ring light and the cool background and setup to take pictures. Onto the food. It is a bit pricey but we all enjoyed our food! Soooo yummy. The surprising winner for me though was my drink! It was the kiwi one with an ice bear! They can make the drinks non alcoholic for you too!

Jemellee S.

Yelp
This one is located right across a Menlo Park Caltrain Station. They have only a few parking spots in front of their restaurant and the rest is either for the train station or other business (just FYI). Oh they're only open during brunch hours (9am - 3pm). I am not from the area but wanted to see what all the hype was about. Clearly, It's a beautiful Ambiance with flowers surrounding the restaurant. When I made the reservations online, it kept saying they have patio seating ONLY?!? There's a spot for photography (selfies, group pics, Queen pic) whatever you want to call it lol. The food according to my family was enjoyable and it was ok. My entree though was very good. I ordered the Bone-in Short Ribs with Kimchi fried rice. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone. It was juicy, and had kind of a sweet savory taste. Loved it. The kimchi fried rice was perfect! The service was great. No issues no complaints. The price was a bit high for me. I thought it was ridiculous that they charged an additional $10 just for egg whites and $10 for two pieces of bacon. The drinks were very good! The overall experience was good but I don't think I'd make a special trip again (unless invited to a party). Didn't see what the hype was about except that it was a really beautiful restaurant.

Yelp
I absolutely love Son and Garden. We have come here many times, usually bring our out of town guests here or for special occasions or just when we want to go to brunch and don't feel like using our heads to figure out which place to go to. Son and Garden is a pretty safe spot - usually can find tables a day or two before hand, and easy reservation with Yelp. All outdoor patio tables. There are heat lamps to keep us nice and toasty during colder weather season. Parking... we just park at the Caltrain Station (not sure if it's completely allowed, but so far we haven't gotten ticketed). Servers are for the most part pretty accommodating and nice. Only on one occasion was the hostess and server not too nice, and didn't want to give us a table that would accomodate two toddlers. On entrance, there is a photo booth area with props and a place to prop your phone with lightbooth to take photos. Usually we get seated pretty expediently. Menus are a little annoying though with the QR codes but they do have paper menus available on request. Some servers won't bring you them despite asking but the most recent time we went, they brought them out for us since the wifi isn't the best in that area. We have tried so many things on the menu... deep fried french toast, omelet, ricotta pancakes, morning beef stew, loco Moco, belly ranchero, bear belly Benedict, prolly others I can't think of. Tried their lattes and the lavender spritzer which were both nice and cutely presented. I think the one I liked least was the Belly Ranchero... also the least amount of food. From what I remembered, there were 3 tacos and not a ton of flavor or food. The Loco Moco is delightful as well as morning beef stew. French toast is always a winner as well. My kid loves the ricotta pancakes, and we add a complete set to it for 12$ extra, and includes bear belly bacon! Hubby doesn't usually care for bacon or loco moco and he likes the ones here. The most recent visit, we had this special fried chicken on top of french toast (savory type with ham inside). This dish was the best!!!! Still thinking about that french toast. Hubby and his friend loved the fried chicken on top.. super juicy and soft and tender. The other toddler in our party ate 40% of the chicken in that dish lol. Price is not too bad... a bit on the more expensive side but you do get a ton of food and really nice presentation. Definitely will be coming back in the future. Hopefully the chicken and french toast special can be a permanent menu addition. Have yet to try the alcoholic drinks, but that will also be on my next to try as well.

Riley E.

Yelp
When you walk in, it feels like you've been transported to a fairyland for tea. Love love the frilly vibe; they even had a selfie set up with a cute background. Drinks were served beautifully unique. We did a traditional "tea party" package with many different finger foods.

Natalia S.

Yelp
I really wanted to be excited for this restaurant but unfortunately it was quite disappointing. My friends and I had a really great time at the Palo Alto location! So we wanted to try the Menlo Park location but to our surprise it is a very different experience. Don't get me wrong.. Our server was nice enough and the food was okay + I enjoyed my drink, but the environment itself was pretty uncomfortable. First of all, to our surprise this restaurant is RIGHT next to the Caltrain. Literally across the street from active Caltrain. So every 10 or so minutes the huge blaring train horn + whistles would be sounding off. Not once, not twice, but at least 3 times before my ears finally got acclimated to the very loud sounds. It scared us the first couple times! lol. SHEESH. I'm wondering why no one ever mentions this on Yelp? I would've LOVED to know this location info instead of being unpleasantly surprised. lol. Also there was NO PARKING when we got there except a lot that turned out to be "Caltrain parking only" I'm wondering why such a popular restaurant doesn't have its own parking lot? The very limited street spaces were all taken. There doesn't seem to not be enough parking spaces for the customers who choose to go to the restaurants here. To add this our disappointment the restaurant itself is also quite underwhelming. *SIGH* Where are the beautiful decorations that Son and Garden is famous for? This location is very plain outside. It was SUPER CROWDED outside + inside. They had two large lines in front, we luckily did not have to wait very long because I made a reservation online. So wait time with reservation is quick which is good! When we were seated, we were packed into a huge line of tables. I almost felt like a sardine! lol. Literally if I would've put my arm out to any side of me I would've been touching another persons table. It's a bit uncomfortable to have so many tables packed into a small space. Also it was EXTREMELY LOUD inside the restaurant. The roar of conversation in such a small space was VERY unpleasant. My friends and I couldn't hear each other talking unless we yelled out conversation. #NOTTHEVIBE lol. If you're looking for a nice, classy, quiet lunch, or one where you don't have to YELL to have a conversation with the person next to you? This unfortunately is NOT the place. Mind you we came here on a Monday and it was still MEGA packed. When we were seated, we were not given a menu nor QR scan code. To help out I showed my friends food options from Yelp. When our server came to the table my friend asked if we could please have access to the menu. He was surprised then sighed and grabbed the QR code menu from a neighboring table. My friends wanted to order salad but unfortunately they only have Shrimp Salad. My friends asked if they can make it a chicken salad instead of using shrimp and he said no they can't do that. #Disappointment lol. **BEST PART OF THE RESTAURANT** is the drinks! I ordered the Sakura Cherry Blossom Elixir Sparkling Wine. It was beautiful and delicious! My friends got Into the Forrest and the Cloud 9. I really love the Son and Garden drinks, they are all so unique and cute! My drink tasted like a light white wine/champagne vibes and it came in a beautiful pink shade with iridescent pink glitter inside and a floating pink flower petal. YUM! It was SO pretty! My friends LOVED their drinks also! The Into the Forrest drink is so cute! It's a green drink with a giant red ice bear on top. Adorbs! For entrees I ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict which comes with a GIANT fried chicken on top of sautéed spinach on bread with roasted potatoes and eggs on top. I enjoyed my dish it was GOOD! I would rate it 6/10. Mostly okay, unfortunately I wouldn't say it was anything amazing or special. I've had much better fried chicken + roasted potatoes at other places. The roasted potatoes were soft with no crunch or crispy edges. I decided to add ketchup from the table and the packets were all sticky + stuck together which kinda grossed me out. lol. My friend ordered the Korean Benedict which looked amazing! But unfortunately she wasn't too fond of it either.. **2ND BEST PART OF THE RESTAURANT** We loved the cute "Hello Gorgeous" photo shoot area. It is designed so super cute with a lovely floral wall, giant royal chair, a white giraffe statue, & a gorgeous bright chandelier shining brightly over the chair. Super cute! Also they had really cute props! Like "love is love", pride flags, colorful feather boas, cute hand signs, and more. + *BONUS* They supply the bright selfie ring light for photos! It is a very lovely set up! *SIGH* Only problem is the ring light part to hold the phone was broken.. So we couldn't use it. *SIGH* I wish somebody would've mentioned this on Yelp as well. Because it would be so easy to bring a tiny phone holder attachment to get the photos we wanted. Also it would've been great if they had noticed and fixed the small broken phone holder issue..

Yelp
Love Son and Garden for a ladies celebration. The cocktails are beautiful works of art. The food is amazing, definitely enough to share. Make sure you take photos, the perfect selfie Instagram spot.

Yelp
Came here for a friends birthday brunch! Parking... very limited parking at the restaurant. Be prepared for street parking Ambiance... people definitely come here for the photo ops. It is decorated well and the food comes out super pretty Service... the service was friendly but they are really busy. We were seated later than our reservation even though our party was all there. Food... it was good. The portions were filling and the fan favorite was the fried chicken benedict. The salmon benedict was also good but pretty standard. The drinks are also very good I would come back for another special occasion but not regularly as this place is pretty pricey.

Yelp
This place has a "fairy-tale" like ambience with pretty purple flowers draped all around the patio. There's also a photo op room right behind the main entrance for those who are interested in taking cute Instagram pictures. The food is great, but pricey. The cocktails are very aesthetic, but they are pricier than cocktails you would find elsewhere. My favorite menu item is the Korean Benedict. The short rib literally falls off the bone, it is so tender! The kimchi flavor of the kimchi fried rice isn't too strong, which is great for people like me who like a more subtle flavor of kimchi. The Fried Chicken Benedict is my 2nd go-to item. All of the items on this plate pair well together and I like how crunchy the fried chicken is. The Ricotta Pancakes are tasty and have a pleasant lemon flavor. I also appreciate how this place has apple chicken sausages, which are a great substitute for bacon if you don't eat pork!

Yelp
Food, space, and presentation: 5 stars Service and billing practices: 2 stars I loved the lemon ricotta pancake combo I ordered. The pancakes had the perfect texture and were lightly sweet with a nice lemon tang. The accompanying egg omelet and chicken apple sausage with the full meal made for a delicious -- and filling -- pairing. The matcha latte was adorably presented in an acrylic bear cup. Nice flavor, but lukewarm. My dining companions' meals and drinks looked equally as delicious. We dined outdoors underneath cascading vines of faux flowers, a lovely atmosphere. The bad: service was not only aloof, but confused. One person asked if they could customize their sandwich, was told yes so he rattled off the adds, then was told no, only omelets could have extra ingredients. Another dining companion specified the toast she wanted and was brought and charged for a side of toast on top of the toast that came with her order. The most offensive was getting charged the same price for the non-alcoholic version of one of their cocktails: $17 with no alcohol. We asked for clarification and we're told yes, mocktails are the same price as cocktails. So all in all, a mixed bag. It was an experience, for both good reasons and bad.

Yelp
Love the interior! Very well decorated. The mimosas here are solid! The veggie quinoa burger is delicious. So were the pancakes and French toast. We ordered the farm house omelet which we did not like. The eggs were too fluffy where they almost tasted like they were fake. Other than the omelet, the food and ambiance here is wonderful. The service is good.

Yelp
I would say this son & garden is better than the one in San Francisco in terms of quality and service. Food was good. Huge portions for a girl like me. Love all the different cocktail concoctions but all of them are very, very sweet! Even the food is overly sweet for me. Service in the early morning is wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than lunch time. I thoroughly enjoyed my espresso martini. Parking is VERY LIMITED. Clean bathrooms. Thanks!

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance were amazing. They have indoor and outdoor seating spaces. Indoor decor boasts floral patterns on the wall and pastel color cushions and furniture. Dim lighting adds to the cozy and relaxed dining experience. Everything from the menu to the food items and plates is very vibrant and colorful. My friend and I got a few dishes - 1. Mama Monte 2. I scream for ice cream cocktail 3. Chef's special belly Ranchero benedict The cocktail had the perfect balance of caramel & espresso. Mama monte was our favorite. Chicken was tender and juicy. Toast was crispy and was filled with creamy mascrapone and ham. It was delicious.

Yelp
Ambiance is 10/10. Such an amazing spot aesthetically. The drinks were super fun and cotton candy makes everything better. My friends and I did brunch and we would definitively go back for some fun cocktails and photo ops. I had the bibimbap and it was very good. Not the best bibimbap I have ever had but the drinks and atmosphere made up that.

Yelp
Son & Garden is my and most's favorite brunch spot in the bay. Not many places accomplish an aesthetic ambiance AND good food, but they do! I've tried a few of their cocktails, short rib benedict, loco moco, and ricotta pancakes. The loco moco is my favorite! Can't go wrong here if you want to take a loved one somewhere special.

Yelp
One star off only because of price. Service was great! Food was delicious and the ambience is pleasant . Didn't love the deafening Caltrain going by every little while, parking can be a little annoying for anyone who is unfamiliar with the area. There is limited street parking in front of the restaurant and the Caltrain parking lot looked really tempting but I drove around a bit to find a side street I could park in. We got the Korean Benedict and a latte each. The short ribs were perfection, the mushroom rice was also delicious, eggs were perfectly cooked, the least favorite (but still good) were the potatoes. All in with tax and tip it was a little over $60. Seemed like a lot for a shared plate and two coffees.

Yelp
A hot-spot, instagrammable place that is extremely popular! We had to wait around 30 mins for a brunch on a weekend (kind of expected), but i really wanted to check out what the fuss is all about. Well, my assumptions were mostly right.. the ambience is very chic and cute and totally instagram-worthy! The food wasn't great, but the drinks (i got their famous cloud 9) were not too bad and quite interesting.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this place. Usually a place like this is just cutesy and aesthetically pleasing, but it genuinely has really amazing food. The service is always top-notch, friendly, and attentive. We went in for our the Alice in Wonderland tea experience that we scheduled ahead of time but somehow the staff didn't see it on their end. We were nervous because we live 45 minutes away (yes, we make the drive because it's that good!) and also had our 14 month old with us, so we it was going to suck to not get the experience. But the staff pulled it together for us anyway and I was so grateful for that. It was no one's fault that they didn't get the reservation on their end, but the were kind enough to pull together what they had, very quickly too. The tea was great, the pastries were sooo goooood, and the setting on the table was just too beautiful. They also got an extra star, not only for making space for our daughter to sit with us at the table and being aware of not placing anything near her, but they also had a cute Frozen-theme paper plate for her for her setting. It was cute, like they really go above and beyond to make every single aspect super cute. I can't wait to continue to take my daughter here as she grows up!!

Yelp
We saw Son & Garden on social media and I already knew it would be packed all the time! I actually waited a while for us to visit because I knew the wait would be crazy long. We decided to make a reservation and we actually had to make the reservation for 2 weeks in advance since there was nothing sooner. Not sure how long the wait times are now, but I'm glad that they offered reservations. Parking is a little tough but we were able to park in the Caltrain lot. There aren't very many parking spaces but after a few rounds and waiting for others to leave, we were able to take someone's spot. We did have to pay for parking in the lot. When we got to the front, they had a few lines outside: Walk-In and Reservation. Since we had a reservation, I obviously stood in the reservation line. Others started lining up behind me since they had reservations as well. Once the host came back to the podium, they added Walk-In customers to a waitlist. When I told them that I had a reservation, I told them my name and they said they would get our table ready. As we were waiting outside, I started to notice that the people on the Waitlist were getting sat down before us...I thought that was a little odd. What's the whole point of making a reservation if a Walk-in gets to sit down before a reservation? It was definitely weird. Once we were called to head to the table, we definitely saw their famous aesthetic that everyone on social media boasts about! It was very pretty and very pink. The time we went was during the holidays so that consisted of pink wreaths on the walls and even a pink Christmas tree. It was very cute! We sat outside and it was a little troublesome since it was December. They did have outdoor heaters on the ceiling, but if you weren't in the right position, your face would be burning, or you would not feel the heat at all. My family members and I ended up moving the table a bit so that we could all get some heat. One thing they definitely don't show on social media is how packed everyone is. Tables are so close to each other (at least on the patio) and it gets even more cramped when multiple people are walking around and you just wanna go to the bathroom. We ordered the Country Benedict, Fried Chicken Benedict, Ricotta Pancakes, French Toast, and the Complete Meal. The food took a little long to come out, but I'm sure it was mainly because of how busy it was. I do admit that all our food was really good! Each entree was also very visually appealing! There was a lot of flavor and each meal was very filling. The fried chicken was very good and seasoned very well! There wasn't very much cream for the ricotta pancakes but the jam was very good! For the french toast, it was the same where I wished there was more vanilla cream. We actually ended up taking some home since we got full. We heard that it's connected to a Thai restaurant and we were thinking of trying that as well, but that would probably be for another time. Overall, I think the aesthetic and the food are great, but our food was pretty pricey. I'm sure it's due to the location and the popularity, but it's really hard to say we would want to come back when the prices are so high. I think it's a great place to try as an experience but I don't think a place like this is good for returning customers unless you really don't mind the wait, or you don't mind the price.

Yelp
This place is designed to attract the younger generation. Beautiful decoration throughout the restaurant and food has great presentation. They even have a ring light set up for customers to take photos in front of the "hello gorgeous" sign. Let's talk about the food. I got the fried chicken benedicts and it was amazing!!! The fried chicken was huge. Juicy and flavored well. The porched eggs were cooked to perfection. The only thing I would say is I would've liked more gravy with it. I also tried the ricotta pancakes and it was ok. Nothing special other than looking pretty. The millionaire's bacon was so bomb! You can't go wrong with that. I didn't try their cocktails this time but their drinks look delicious esp the espresso martini! It even comes with a mini ice cream cone. Sooo extra but in a good way lol. Drinks range from $15-17 so it's pretty steep. Overall, our large party was accommodated with great service and yummy food. The ambiance was hip and we had a good time celebrating a birthday. I'll be back for a lunch date soon.

Yelp
My 1000th review*** My bestie and I wanted to have brunch so she found this place. Its best to make reservations before hand. It gets busy and wait time for walk-in could be long. The only available reservations I was able to get was for 9am right when they open. Parking can be difficult but there is a parking lot across the street where Caltrain is and cost was $5.50. Upon arrival there is two roped lines, one for reservations and one for walkup. Check in was easy and we were seated right away. It was a pretty cold morning but they have heaters everywhere to keep you warm. One thing I didn't like is its right next to the CalTrain station so it was loud at times. Once we were seated waters were brough to our table and there was a QR to scan for the menu. I noticed other patrons asked for physical menus which you could do also. Here is what I ordered. Vanilla Latte 4/5 - Simple vanilla latte served in a cute plastic bear tumbler. Latte was lukewarm & extra charge for vanilla. Ricotta Pancakes Full Breakfast 4/5 - Average breakfast for $30.00 Presentation was pretty as you can tell by photos. Pancakes with fruit and syrup on the side. I added the bacon and scrambled eggs. As you can see eggs were more of a omelet presentation. Bacon was thin and crispy. Eggs were fluffy and cooked well. Overall I enjoyed the ambiance and brunch date but its an overpriced bougie brunch spot you go to do it for the gram in my opinion. The employees were nice and attentive. Its a place you must try at least once and treat yo self!

Yelp
This delicious picture-worthy spot is worth the hype. Highly recommend you make a reservation or you should expect a wait. They only offer outdoor seating at this location. They have beautiful floral decor and a flower picture wall. Their drinks are pricey but delicious and oh so insta-worthy! They have many mimosa variations and some other twists on classic cocktails. Their brunch menu offers classics with an Asian-fusion twist. My favs are the ricotta pancakes (a must have), the Korean Benedict, the bibimbab, and the French toast. Everything is delicious and their flavor combos are !

Yelp
Came here for a birthday brunch with 2 friends, and the food was pretty good! We made a reservation for 12pm on a Sunday, and it was packed when we arrived. Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait a bit before they led us to our table. There are 2 lines outside the restaurant, one for walk-ins and one for reservations. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if possible because they are super busy. For food, we got the ricotta pancakes, morning beef stew, and son & garden omelette. The morning beef stew was 10/10, meat was super tender and just melts in your mouth. The pancakes were pretty good and fluffy as well. I'd pass on the omelette next time though, wasn't super special or tasty and you can definitely get better omelettes at other brunch places. Presentation of all the food is on point, both the food and the interior/exterior of the restaurant is super aesthetic and great for Instagram. Service was okay, they did check up on us a few times but weren't super friendly. I think most(?) of the seating is outdoors on a patio, so it does get kind of loud, as the Caltrain is also located right next to the restaurant. They do have heaters set up to keep you warm though.

Yelp
This place is definitely a instagramable place. I love the aesthetics and the vibes it brings. They also have a Photo Booth area set up with a ring light so you can take those cute photos. I would highly recommend making a reservation as the weekend wait times can get long. Food wise, I thought the portion sizes were slightly smaller than expected as the price per item was on the more expensive side. I felt that the French toast was probably the best out of all the dishes we got. I loved the inside filling and the fresh fruits. The Korean short rib Benedict was something different that I haven't seen at most brunch places so it's worth it to try. The meat fell right off the bones and it was very flavorful! Plus the kimchi fried rice complemented it perfectly.

Yelp
The food presentation is so beautiful. The ricotta pancakes are the best; they are fluffy like souffle pancakes and go well with the berry sauce and fresh fruits. I also got Cloud 9, which makes you feel like you're in Cloud 9. No wonder Son & Garden is considered one of the top brunch spots to dine in! I recommend reserving a table online for weekends because it gets packed quickly. If you have friends and family visiting from out of state, it's best to introduce them to the Menlo Park location. Overall, the service is good with a great ambiance.

Jo S.

Yelp
I've been to the Palo Alto Restaurant and wanted to try the Menlo Park location so recently took a friend here visiting from overseas for brunch. Like the Palo Alto location, the restaurant is beautifully decorated but also has a large dining area on the patio where we sat. Service was good. We had to request regular menus as both our phones had poor reception so could not read the QR Coded Menu online. I did not realize how much I missed regular menus until they gave us theirs, lol. We ordered a round of Mimosa"s ($13), along with *The Shrimp Salad ($26) and Smoked Salmon Benedict ($26). All very good with beautiful presentations, as they are known for. *Note that my friend just did not care for the edible salad bowl it was served in, looked like a tostada. Reservations are definitely recommended. The only setback about this restaurant is that the Cal Train stops right in front so you"ll hear the LOUD train horn each time it stops/passes. I am not sure how loud it is when you eat inside. They have parking spots right in front of the restaurant, but they are often full, so we parked down the street. If you park in the Cal Train lot, it's $5.

Yelp
After much silliness at a selfie studio the previous evening, I was amused to see yet another set the next morning (and no, this time I did not partake! :P) at this popular brunch/lunch spot. Offering hearty plates of delish American comfort food with an Asian fusion twist in a pretty porch setting, Son & Garden (which wraps around another of the owners' restaurants, Farmhouse Kitchen) is an all-gender crowd pleaser. Two of our party chose the Stone Pot Bibimbap with a massive piece of fried chicken and a fried egg atop Japanese rice sautéed with mushroom, asparagus, bell pepper, spinach, and kimchi, one ordered the French Toast on brioche, soaked in Grand Marnier and vanilla pastry cream, and loaded with fresh fruit, and greedy little ol' me picked the Morning Beef Stew, a giant bowl of short rib, creamy mashed potato, garlic portobello mushroom, green onion, and poached egg. The tea menu is great - I loved my Blooming Flower Tea with its blend of jasmine, green, and calendula, and my girlfriend enjoyed her Formosa Oolong as well. The boys had no complaints about their Equator Coffee from Marin County, but I didn't think their mugs were nearly as photo-worthy as our tea sets. ;) Pro tips: reservations are a must, allow extra time to find parking, and come hungry!

Jenna R.

Yelp
The most instagrammable brunch spot! If you're local to the area you definitely have seen and heard about this Asian brunch. Son & garden is the sister restaurant to Farmhouse Kitchen, another awesome place for authentic Thai food. They actually share this building/space. The space is decorated so nicely and they even have an area for photos with a stand so you don't have to ask anyone to take the picture for you. It's outdoor seating on a covered patio, and I believe that have heaters. I have seen pets on the patio. Be warned, this place is BUSY especially on weekends. A reservation is best. Their food is good. It's brunch, so expect brunch prices. Food that I personally enjoyed: the loco moco, bibimbap, and Korean Benedict. I love rice for breakfast lol.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
So cute! To be honest I'd come here more for the look and drinks rather than the food (although it is good!) We all grabbed fun drinks and I ordered the rainbow french toast for my birthday. It was extra and over top which was the perfect way to celebrate. Took a few bites and the french toast was actually really good! Its not super noisy besides the train going by, make a reservation and check it out !!

Colette D.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for the longest time. They had the Barbie theme going on and it was super cute with everyone dressed in pink and taking pictures in their picture op place. They even have a phone holder and a light for the best pictures. The food was presented adorably in a pink drawer. I got a cloud drink with cotton candy and edible flowers and butterfly. The experience was more memorable than the food but I would definitely go back again.

Krista R.

Yelp
This place was absolutely beautiful. The decor was so cute def Instagram worthy. The food here was amazing. The service felt rushed. The food is a little pricey. The bear cups they bring your coffee in are just adorable. The patio is dog friendly so that was a plus. Would def love to come back and try more food.
