"From the centre of Sorrento, you follow a succession of roads downhill to Marina Grande, the town’s old, picturesque fishing village that is well worth a visit. Here, facing the water, you’ll find Soul & Fish, a seemingly traditional seaside restaurant that actually serves superb fish and seafood on a menu that combines traditional dishes with more creative options." - Michelin Inspector

Nice location next to beach in grand marina. Only does seafood. I had really great tuna in almonds and amberjack fish. The traditional Sorrento creamy lemon sponge dessert was also delicious. Food was nicely presented and the service was good, though they were a bit pushy asking for a tip at the end and telling us service wasn’t included, when it’s usually included in all Italian restaurants. They must have got used to Americans tipping them 20%!

This place, right down by the waterfront, is absolutely fantastic. It is right next door to the highly rated Bagni Delfino but we went here because the ambiance suited is more. We were not disappointed! Wait staff was helpful and friendly and gave us a gratis prosecco when we sat down. Views were nice and food was especially good. The crusted tuna and sea bass prepared at the table were delicious. Definitely recommend!

Highly recommended! My daughter and I had two great meals here. It’s right on the beach. Food was fantastic. We had spaghetti with lobster and spaghetti with clams.

Google
Excellent restaurant. They were fully booked but find a way to get us a table. Thank you so much again we had a lovely experience !

Google
Incredible service, incredible food, incredible atmosphere. Here on the coast of Sorrento with my sweet husband on our honeymoon, I couldn’t ask for more. We had the tasting menu with a pairing from the sommelier, and finished the night with lemoncello under the stars. Just magical.

Google
A scenic coast side spot with some great fish! Starting off with the Il Tonno Croccante, these little Tuna Nuggets became one of my favorite antipasti ever! The Risotto was delicious and came in very good portion, the Amberjack had great sauce and crisp, and the Cod Baccalà had spice and unique flavor. The Sponge cake is a must get dessert. Service was friendly and a welcome glass of prosecco + complimentary pre dessert fernet brancamenta was greatly appreciated!

Google
Hate to say it. Worst restaurant we have been to in italy so far. Nothing wrong with the service.. just the food. Worst food we had since being in italy. Not flavorful, no wow moments, no happy thoughts when eating. Over salted, strong flavors but just not good. Sorry, can't recommend in fact there are so many food there in the marina. Do go here.

Google
The almond coated tuna was amazing, the best tuna I’ve had! Service was great and it’s not too pricey compared to other places in Sorrento. Plus if you’re lucky you may get a free shot or two of limoncello at the end as well as free sparkling wine on arrival. For two of us, we shared the tuna as a starter and had a main and drink each, it was around €110 total. The waiters were all helpful and attentive. Recommend booking to avoid disappointment!

Yelp
This place is so underrated! I have now been to Venice and Florence and now to Sorrento. This is the BEST MEAL I have had in Italy so far. I had the tempura crab, asparagus, baby potatoes, and the red snapper. These were all absolutely AMAZING! Now, this places service was good but a little slow as drinks took about 20 minutes. Other than that the food came out in a timely manner where you could eat your appetizer and have about 7 minutes of resting time before your next dish came out. Also, the view from this restaurant was very pretty! I would recommend coming around sunset so you can eat your food with a stellar view! To finish this review I would say... 1) This place needs to be talked about more. 2) The food is a little pricey but worth it. 3) Everyone should try this place out if they come to Sorrento!

Yelp
We had a very bad experience at this restaurant. There are so many better options in Sorrento. The staff was friendly initially, but after we placed our order, we were completely ignored. They don't even make eye contact when they gave us our drinks or food. This was the only meal in Sorrento that we could not finish because it tasted so bad. Incredible fishy and chewy in all of the worst ways. It was very cute and we were thinking about coming during the day to the beach but after our experience decided to go elsewhere.

Yelp
We had dinner here one night in Sorrento and I felt compelled to write a review. This place came recommended from 2 sources and wow, what a huge disappointment! We got bad vibes the day before when we went to check it out...the Maitre'd/owner(?) completely ignored us as we stood waiting to talk to her about seeing a menu and making a reservation. Came back later and made reservations for the next night (with another guy) and as one other reviewer mentioned, there was ONE waiter for the entire place (w/helpers) but WTH?? Everything took forever...including the bill we wanted to pay and get out of there! We started with the assorted app selection and only 1 out of 3 of them was pretty good (almond tuna). I ordered the mixed grill fish and there was absolutely NO taste...had to add salt and lemon and still nothing. Was also served lukewarm. My daughter got the sea bass and it was pretty tasteless too. And the lemon slice she asked for never got delivered. It was almost like they were trying to ignore us. When the waiter FINALLY came to clear the table he could see I hardly ate anything (of a very pricey dish) and didn't ask or say anything. We had to get his attention and wave him down several times for the bill. Such an awful experience and so disappointing...especially after we had two amazing meals in Sorrento that week (highly recommend Delfino's and Donna Sofia). And this was the most expensive meal of the trip so far- which we just paid and left. Other restaurants may offer another meal or comp the meal but nothing was offered and we didn't ask. We just wanted to leave. We are huge foodies and are just so disappointed with our final meal in Sorrento. We'll definitely be warning our friends to stay clear of this place. Like another reviewer mentioned, there are SO many other restaurants here with great food and service...at a lower price! Don't waste your time here.

Yelp
Great food and service when we visited end of July 23. Each dish was delicious, fresh and so tasty. The view of the Marina Grande harbor at sunset was a nice additional touch to this lovely evening

David E.

Yelp
Came here on the recommendation of a friend. It was a perfectly adequate dining experience, nothing more. Very friendly staff and a fun location right on the beach in the harbour. If you want ambiance and view, come here.

Yelp
The people who worked at this restaurant were nice, if they happened to stop by the table, but overall the service was awful. We had to ask many times for everything. The servers just dropped bottled water on the table, never filling or refilling a glass, never asking how the food was, never asking if we wanted anything else, expect dessert. We ordered 2 bottles of water and only received one and had to ask several times for more water. While they smiled, they did not seem to really care at all. We noticed that people at other tables were getting water poured for them, but they blatantly did not care with us. There was a family in the middle of the dining room that appeared to be related to people working in the restaurant, the man was walking around with no shoes on and they had a toddler who cried for at least an hour and they could careless. I noticed that our waiter was MUCH more attentive to these people. The lobster ravioli was a huge disappointment, I had two microscopic pieces of lobster in 5-6 raviolis and the pasta was just filled with mush. This place was recommended to us and I do not understand why. Bad service and the food was meh!

Bryan R.

Yelp
I resonate with other negative reviews on so many levels. Atmosphere and service was fantastic. The employees we're friendly and helpful. The food however was a complete disappointment. Everything we had was bland and very subpar. As tourists we were recommended this place by a local and ended up leaving with a big bill and very disappointed. If you're a tourist in the area stick to Porto Marina (very good) or one of the other restaurants and save yourself a very expensive subpar meal.

Yelp
Recommended by the manager of our lodging. We 2 had a very nice dinner. It was an easy walk to and from our apartment, which was located near the train station. (Even the uphill walk from the beach was not difficult.) AMBIANCE: 4.0. Outside covered tables. Our table was on the edge next to the water; was very nice to hear the lapping waves and to watch the evening sky turn from pink to black as the sun set. The view is partially blocked by an adjoining wharf on top of which is a restaurant. FOOD: 4.5. Very good food, and a good selection of wines. - Risotto seafood: 5.0. Excellent. - Fish of the day: 4.0. Very nicely prepared and presented. Two gentlemen showed us the fresh fish resting on ice, explaining the qualities of the flesh of each; we shared one fish with fatty white flesh. During the final stage of preparation an older gentlemen separated the meat from the bone within our view, distributing it across two plates. - Salad: 4.5. - Lemon dessert: 4.5 - il polpo (octopus) appetizer: 4.0. - Wine: 4.0. Recommended by our server. We finished with 2 different types of lemoncello. SERVICE: 4.5. The waiter was professional and prompt. He finally smiled when my wife pointed at her plate during one of his visits and insisted with wide eyes: "This is really good!". Eyes sparkling, he replied "I believe you!"

Yelp
Highly recommend. I was recommended by a local. The chef mixed appetizers was absolutely amazing. Staff are friendly. Need to make a reservation beforehand. You will not feel rushed. Would recommend focusing on ordering seafood.

Yelp
All fur coat and no knickers, shockingly small menu that is nearly impossible to read, dreadful service and very poor food. Avoid this place, it cost a fortune aswell!!!

Tina M.

Yelp
Best meal we've had in Italy! The vibe and staff were very nice, attentive and friendly. They were accommodating to our food allergies of gluten and corn- they went above and beyond. Great wine selection, affordable prices not marked up. 10/10 would recommend

Marci R.

Yelp
We had two locals recommend this restaurant,so we walked down to the marina in the afternoon to secure a reservation. It is a family owned restaurant where all the waiters were brothers/cousins, and they couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. The local fish was delicious and the wine superb. We had an oyster starter. Stuffed Gnocchi for the primi and oven baked fish/potatoes (the silver fish on the right in the photo --not sure what kind it was) for the secondi. No room for dessert, but of course there was limoncellos Unfortunately it was chilly so the plastic walls were down, but I can imagine how wonderful it would be open to the sea in the summer.

Yelp
Amazing dinner!! Great host and staff! Beautiful location on the Grand Marina with amazing view and ambience. Shared a bottle of great Italian wine on their patio prior to consuming the most superb meal! First course of steamed mussels was enough to feed a family of four!! Great portions! Pasta with clams and the Spinach Risotto was beyond delicious! Suggest a taxi for the ride back to your hotel! Be sure to make reservations because this restaurant is popular with locals and tourists!! And now we know why! Bellissimo! Thank you for the most memorable meal in Sorrento! California loves you!

Yelp
Went Sept 15. Not as pretty as the pictures on the internet. The food was very salty and restaurant mediocre. Went in celebration of two birthdays with a big group of women and ordered the risotto. I took a half bite and immediately sent it back, the manager asked why and sent out the chef. Why do people usually send food back? Because it's not good. He picked the plate up at first, but since he was so busy flirting with my friends decided to leave the plate on the table for the others to enjoy. I should've asked would both items still be on the check but figured he was at least professional enough and would remove the item I tried to send back. Common courtesy, right? Nope! I ordered something else and that was salty too but I just shut up at that point. Got the bill and sure enough he charged me for what I asked him to take then argued with me about paying for it when I said I wouldn't. He should have told me I would still be responsible for paying. Don't eat here! So many amazing restaurants nearby, don't bother with this one. Not only unprofessional but the salt will send you into a medical shock. Also told them it was two people's birthdays at the table and they intentionally only acknowledged the one they flirted with. Sexiest, salty and bad management.

Audrey S.

Yelp
Loved this place! The atmosphere is awesome! They gave us a complimentary welcome glass of Prosecco, a little appetizer that was a fried cheese gnocchi with calamari, and a goodbye shot of apple limoncello! I ordered the fish of the day, they brought it out and filleted it in front of me! They placed it over a bed of pasta with a very light but flavorful tomato sauce! My other friends ordered the risotto, gnocchi, and pasta with clams and they all ate every bite! I will say though, the seafood is pretty much unavoidable here other than maybe one or two dishes so if you do not like seafood do not come here! If you do like seafood, we found this place has the freshest picks! Thank you Soul & Fish for the delicious food and classy environment!

Nilda G.

Yelp
In one word: don't! In two words: he'll no!!! I've never met such a disrespect from a business I've literally chased them for three weeks to make a reservation from abroad. In the times they did answer the phone they promised to answer back other times they just said "one second", let you wait on the phone for 10 minutes and then hung up the phone. Discussing service. Do yourself a favor and skip this experience.

Yelp
Soul and Fish was recommend by a local in Sorrento and I'm so glad I asked. I ordered the catch of the day and to my surprise I got to pick out the fish that was go be prepared for me. I chose the orange rockfish and had no idea what to expect. When the whole fish was brought to my table cooked with pasta I was shocked. It was tender flaky and so meaty, my wife wondered why Tuna was considered chicken of the sea. It was served with fresh cherry tomatoes and was perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the Shrimp Risotto in a Pumpkin Cream sauce and wished she could have had more. She was full and still had more she wish she could consume more that was on her plate. We recommend this place to anyone that will listen. We are so grateful for the recommendation by the local we talked to.

Len S.

Yelp
Soul & Fish exceeds all expectations for a small fishing village in Sorrento. After the wait staff walked us through the catch of the day, we trusted their experience and delight to craft an hors d'oeuvre selection of the chef's choosing as well as their directed first and second courses. The hors d'oeuvres included succulent octopus, delicious cuddle fish, mastery of tuna, a great crostini bite with smoked salmon, and delectable buttery array of clams and mussels. Next up was a preparation of a unique and light fish with pasta, as only the Italians can do. Following was a meaty deft dish of red snapper. Finished with a choice of dessert and limoncello on the house. This meal far out paces a previous one at a Michelin star Parisian restaurant due to Soul & Fish attention to hospitality, ingenious food preparation, and, of course, the view.

Yelp
Amazing food and staff. We are from the US and it was our first time in Italy. We didn't have a reservation and they got us seated immediately despite the fact. We were treated like family from the second we walked in. The staff was SO friendly, helpful and so much fun. We came here every night in Sorrento. The food was absolutely incredible. My husband had the seafood pasta and I had the sea bass. It was so fresh and amazing. We had such a wonderful time here. Do yourselves a favor and don't miss it!

Katy H.

Yelp
My husband and I came here based on positive reviews on Yelp. My husband had the pineapple lemon risotto with calamari. The flavors were odd but the dish was overall fine. I had the grilled fish entree which looked like they took frozen blocks from the freezer and placed on the grill. The fish did not taste fresh and was very firm. This was very disappointing since I would think a seafood restaurant would know not to put out food if it does not look fresh. Portions were generous. Indoor and out door seating available. Nice view but slightly obstructed by delfino's restaurant.

Lauren D.

Yelp
This place was fantastic. The fish was fresh. The pasta with clams and truffles was amazing. We had the octopus for an appetizer it was great. The limoncello was the best I've tasted in my life homemade right there. We even considered going back the next day for lunch it was so delicious. Don't miss this place on your trip.

Yelp
I didn't even get to try this restaurant because they turned me away. I requested a table for one and while their restaurant was half empty they said they had nothing for hours. I was dressed appropriately so I'm not sure why they would've said no, but I'm sure their customer service says a lot for them even if the food is good.

Rae M.

Yelp
They do not treat tourists well. Locals or those with reservations may have a better experience. We came in and were seated at the same time as 2 other couples, but while the first had their appetizer and main within 30 min, and the second had their appetizer.. they still hadn't taken our order! Would not recommend the swordfish, it was disgustingly dry and overcooked. The mixed grilled fish was good, but one piece of grilled tuna was also very overcooked. I agree with the mixed reviews posted by others. Do yourself a favor and instead get a reservation at Bagni Delfino next door! Sad. I really wanted to like this place.

Ellis K.

Yelp
First off the bread they served was old and hard as a rock. The pasta I orders came out with under cooked noodles.... if you forgot this place is in Italy... how can they serve you bad pasta in Italy? Also the fish was cooked fine but had no flavor because they used no seasoning. At the end the whole meal came out to be 80 euros... we told the waiter about the old bread and bad pasta and he said okay... there was no compensation for the awful meal. Btw don't seat outside because you will get a face full of cigarette smoke in your face while your eating. Do yourself a favor and save your money.

Charleen G.

Yelp
We heard about this restaurant from the local pharmacist and thought we'd give it a try on. Saturday night in April. We didn't have reservations but they were able to work our party of three in. Wonderful service and an absolutely delightful meal. They recommended a Sauvignon d l Veneto that was even better than we could have expected. My husband and brother-in-law had lobster and pasta and I had crab and linguine. We had been traveling for more than 24 hours and didn't want to eat too much but we were able to make room for dessert and were glad we did!! Give it a try! Make a reservation if you can but if not - maybe you will luck out like we did!!

Nikki B.

Yelp
Great seafood place on the water! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time if you want a table right on the water. Cute atmosphere with delicious food. I got the grilled fish platter- it came with pieces of salmon, cod, swordfish, prawns, catfish. It was amazing & big enough to split with my husband as a side to his Gnocchi (also delicious). We also tried their white wine and tiramisu, enjoyed these as well. They brought us two free limonchello shots to end the night. This limonchello was the best we had all trip! Overall, a great experience here.

Kent W.

Yelp
The food is good, not great. They, or at least our waiter, required that we order everything at once. The service is absolutely horrible. Completely ruined everything. Strongly DO NOT recommend.

Audrey Tanner T.

Yelp
Just ok. Go somewhere else. We have been here 2 weeks. 4 of us. Just ok. I would not go back. Service. Not so good. Wine. Good. Many other restaurants in area way better

Jonathan J.

Yelp
Great find for a romantic meal. Started with free Spumante and The view is amazing. The food was perfect. Ask for ti ti franco as your waiter. Very funny guy and helps you out with the menu. We got the amberjack fish that was very good. They de bone the whole thing right in front of you. Also the lobster with spaghetti. Wow When we got our check we for free limoncello too! Great night. Great time.

Martine R.

Yelp
If you love & appreciate FRESH seafood & wonderful, attentive waitstaff from a family business, Soul & Fish is for you. In the evening, this beachfront restaurant transforms from beach club restaurant to a romantic seafood restaurant. Salads are delicious, as are the Homemade pastas. Select your fresh fish, which can serve one or two people. Fish is grilled & filleted in front of you. A side of grilled veggies is a perfect compliment. House wines are delicious & don't forget the home made tiramisu.

Anna G.

Yelp
We had the most amazing experience here while visiting Sorrento! First of all the view from our table was beautiful, right on the water at Marina Grande. As soon as we were seated our waiter brought us each a glass of Prosecco, followed by a chef's choice of amuse bouche. We ordered the catch of the day, there were a few different options all displayed in a case and we picked out the fish we wanted and how we wanted it prepared. Every dish was better than the last, and to top it off our waiter brought us limoncello to finish the meal. The wait staff were all well trained and very friendly. Definitely our favorite meal in Sorrento!

Shonda S.

Yelp
What a disappointment! Yes, they have fresh fish but that's all. Our bread was old, clams and mussels with gritty salt and most of all the pasta with the rock fish was under cooked. Who under cooks pasta in Sorrento! Save your Euro and go some place else.

Tahmina A.

Yelp
We went here on our 6th day in Sorrento where we were feeling pretty tired of the same old pizza and pasta dishes from the majority of restaurants in town. We were the first ones in at 6 pm and from the moment we stepped in, we knew it was going to be a nice experience from the ambience. The waiter Ivan was very professional. The bruschetta was to die for and the fresh fish of the day with pasta was one of the best we ever had. They also made some spaghetti with tomato sauce for our little toddler and even that was super delicious. We also had the lemon dessert and the tiramisu and both were top notch. A must visit is you are in town.

Bailee B.

Yelp
My husband and I ate here while on our honeymoon. As foodies, we love cool/hip restaurants and were happy they had room for us when we arrived without a reservation! We were pleased by the interesting menu. We had grilled squid, linguine with anchovies and capers, and cocoa puff encrusted bluefish (surprisingly smokey and delicious). It all kept our taste buds on edge until dessert, which was a little boring, but still tasty. Just not as edgy as the rest of the menu. Loved that the restaurant had a good mix of locals and tourists. I recommend!

Michelle L.

Yelp
Quaint authentic restaurant with a beautiful view! Exquisite food with affordable prices. If you are in Sorrento, I would definitely recommend going for a relaxing dining experience!

Jay J.

Yelp
The location is great but both of our meals were bland and filled with shells and bones. I got the grilled seafood comination and i had to ask for salt and pepper to give it some taste. My wife got linguini and crab which was better than mine but still not great. I would not recommend to family or friends.
