"Sous Terre is a cocktail bar opened by acclaimed chef Scott Crawford under his French bistro, Jolie. The bar is led by Jordan Joseph, Crawford Hospitality’s beverage director, and can seat 35 customers. The menu features classic cocktails like martinis, Manhattans, and Negronis. The bar focuses on making the best version of each cocktail, using specific glassware, hand-cut ice, and temperature control. It also offers a library of vintage spirits. Sous Terre is open nightly and hosts industry nights on Sundays." - Erin Perkins

Really low-key and small. Perfect spot for excellent cocktails from skilled bartenders. These dudes are personable and very creative with their drinks. Tell them the kind of cocktails you prefer and in no time they’ll concoct a very tasty treat. The drinks on the menu are great too. You’ve got options here. Great for a one on one cocktail date or chill by yourself and vibe.

Awesome speakeasy experience! Some reviewers are unfairly leaving bad reviews solely for the fact that Sous Terre took over the former Atlantic Lounge space, and while I enjoyed AL, the new ST space in absolutely a nicer, higher end experience. The reality is, the AL owners had decided for whatever reason to close down their operations, so better for the space to be reimagined into something new and awesome rather than it just sitting there empty. It's not like if ST didn't exist AL would magically return. Anyway, staff was nice, didn't have to wait long to put in an order despite being fairly crowded, and both drinks I got were great. That's all you really need for a great cocktail experience!

Elite experience and mixology. Great sub-level bar with a speaker-easy atmosphere without being contrived. The cocktails and mocktails were superbly balanced and worth the trip on their own. The service was exceptional. Sean, behind the bar, greeted us as soon as we approached the bar, got us menus and followed up to see if we needed anything. Had a couple of great conversations about the mixology and shared interesting perspectives and insights. The drinks came out quick and they were great! Absolutely a place to go back to

With the help of Alexander and Jordan, we pulled off an epic surprise party for my husband’s 40th birthday this weekend. Accommodating at every step and with every detail, from specialty cocktails named after my husband with some of his favorite profiles, to the fantastic play list, Alexander and Sous Terre delivered a party beyond my expectations. We brought in several dozen doughnuts from across the street and it was super simple to coordinate with bringing in snacks. If you’re considering an intimate and super fun space for drinks, Sous Terre is an excellent choice.

Google
Extremely mediocre. Requires a key- lame and outdated to be honest. 19.49$ cost of menu cocktail that wasn’t well balanced at all. Couldn’t get a hello or acknowledgment from any of the 4 young men behind the bar beyond one of them pointing at me like “are you ready?” Being that it’s an extremely small room, you might expect better more intimate service. One and done for sure, no reason to go back at all.

Hands-down, the best cocktail bar in Raleigh! Perfectly executed classic beverages, the best staff, no better place for night out or simply a night cap on any night.

Google
Perfectly made classics in a dark, sexy space. Perfect for dinner before or after dinner at one of the other Crawford concepts upstairs. Key is required for entry and can be purchased at either Crawford and Son or Jolie.

Google
Loved this place when it was the Atlantic Lounge; it was a low key speakeasy with just right vibe. Now, after the Scott Crawford acquisition, it is just an EXTREMELY dark, EXPENSIVE ($16-20) bland cocktail bar like anywhere else in Raleigh. The bartenders are great, and the cocktails are tasty, but it’s hard to really rank it where it used to be with the best/cool hidden speakeasies in Raleigh. Definitely catering to a different crowd now, more in line with Jolie and Crawford. The Atlantic was a favorite, not sure I’ll be back anytime soon now, definitely a shame.

Yelp
Long time key holder from the Atlantic Liked the new vibe and cocktail menu Not sure how this is going to work with the restaurant guests also able to access the lounger before or after We liked the concept and it was a go to location so will continue to come

Yelp
Sous Terre is Scott Crawford's new cocktail bar located in the space previously occupied by the Atlantic Lounge. There are a few ways that you can visit, you can dine in at Crawford and Sons or Jolie, purchase a key for $50 or use your key if you were a previous key holder. When you enter it will take a bit for your eyes to adjust because it is so dark. The classic cocktail menu is on average $18 a drink but ranges from $14 to $20. I tried the Cobra's Fang and my friend had the Paloma. Both were good but overpriced. We had one then went over to William & Company. I'd like to see more creative cocktails for that price if I were to visit again.

Yelp
Demitrius and Sean crushed this evening for us!! Great service and an awesome atmosphere. FANTASTIC drinks like quite actually the best drinks of my life!

Yelp
The atmosphere is just what I imagined this place always feeling like and had hoped for in the old Atlantic Lounge. There is a certain allure and clandestine feel that makes it the right place before or after dinner at the many restaurants in the Mordecai area. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that the price value isn't here though. I didn't expect such a drastic change in per-cocktail prices that feel more in line with New York when new ownership took over. The Manhattan I had was well overpriced for what I could have made at home and there was not much originality in the build that you might find in classic cocktails at Kingfishers (Durham) or even at Crawford's own Brodeto. If every cocktail was just $2.50 cheaper I'd feel a little bit better about visiting this spot more often.

Yelp
Great cocktails, interesting ambience, and lovely service. Would def recommend this spot!

Yelp
I really loved the drinks and the staff here. As well as the ambiance! You have to have purchased a key to get in which means you have to know someone in the first place but that's part of the fun! The drinks are very spendy if you want a curated cocktail but don't worry they're are super inexpensive beers if you don't want something that fancy. My man stuck with a $3 yingling lmao. Great place great staff.

Yelp
This bar is darker than a cave on a cloudt night. Drinks are meh and at times seemed like mocktails. Bartenders are rude and inconsiderate. The key that you have is meaningless. Patrons from the restaurant upstairs get unrestricted access. Skip it.
