"Brothers Ben and Robert Bynum have been influential forces in Philly’s entertainment scene since 1990, when they opened their first jazz club. South, their biggest restaurant, brought live jazz and Southern staples to Spring Garden in 2015. The jazz shows are a great complement to comfort food highlights like macaroni and cheese, honey butter skillet cornbread, étouffée, and po’ boys." - Eater Staff, Ernest Owens

South Street is fine for a stroll. Don’t expect too much in culture. Clothing shopping, food, and some bars. Kind of overrated.

Nice mix of unique shops and small restaurants Very clean and safe No public restrooms and businesses including some food service locations will not let paying customers use restrooms Nice way to spend afternoon Public art display in alleys nearby, see photos They need to issue a business map

This place really went downhill since I was a teenager. Every other store is a vape shop now and the walking down there isn't the safest. It's sad to watch this happen slowly over the years.

South Street of Philadelphia is a place you should visit when you are staying in Philadelphia or in transit for a short time. That place called "South Street" and so popular in Philadelphia. Many things you can see by yourself when you get there. The neighborhood of this area is inhabited by the artisan or people who like graffiti and art lovers. You can see some of their work around this place. This South Street becomes a destination for those who would like to find a hangout place especially from the young generations. Don't be surprised when you find young people come with their unique and eccentric way to dress up, ride a fancy car around. From many bars and cafes, you can hear loud house music sound. Especially in the late afternoon, this place becomes crowded with people. Besides cafes and restaurants, there're rows on both sides of the street shops selling many things for young people. Every late afternoon till night people will walk around come and go around this place and transformed this place into an entertainment center in Philadelphia.
