And not only is this the best square slice around—it's one of the best pizzas we've ever sunk our teeth into around here. That's thanks to sauce jazzed up by herbs, spiderweb-stretchy Wisconsin brick cheese, a toasted Cheez-It-like exterior, and extra smoky pepperoni. Pair all of that good stuff with a crust that's sturdy along the bottom and springy in the middle, and you have a takeout pie that absolutely won't make it past the drive home. Spark’s blistered crusts have an impeccable balance between bouncy-puffy edges and crisp bottoms, and their topping repertoire is just as vast as it is reliable. You can eat a very pleasant burrata-topped margherita, or a spicy saag paneer pie—but you're really here for the Detroit-style pizza, which is quite simply the best square around. That explains why there’s a line on weekends here full of devoted regulars plus newbies wondering what the fuss is about. Spark does Detroit-style pies during the week and New York-esque joints on Sundays, but the classic Neapolitan pies are what got it on that list.
