The 20 Best Things to Eat at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim | Eater LA

"Disneyland makes a great funnel cake, regardless of whether one is a purist who likes just a sprinkling of sugar, or a maximalist who likes toppings on toppings. The seasonal offering from Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland is always a winner. Past variations have included a sweet cream cheese topping with marionberry preserves and whipped cream, and a strawberry cheesecake-inspired version topped with a chocolate Minnie bow." - Julie Tremaine

The 25 Best Things to Eat At Disneyland, Ranked

"Location: Cafe Orleans, New Orleans Square, Disneyland Look up “Not giving a flying f*ck” in the dictionary and you will find the picture of every person who’s ever ordered this beautiful caloric cannon. Yes, it’s a deep-fried, sugar-coated ham-and-cheese sandwich and no, you’re not going on any more rides after this. But we say throw caution to the wind, because you’ll be rewarded with a sandwich that ranks as the very best at Disney in our books. There’s a spot to lie down and figure it out over by Matterhorn." - brant cox

Interesting reviews. I’ve been eating these corndogs for as long as I can remember and I’ve never had one that wasn’t fresh. They’ve been consistently hot, tasty, and with the perfect amount of batter. What’s disappointing though, is when they serve breakfast until 10 o’clock and they run out of breakfast chimichangas by 9 AM. Stage Door Cafe is the only place you can get the breakfast chimichanga. Unfortunately, we were starving and reluctantly ordered the regular chimichanga (beef and bean). There are definitely pros and cons to mobile ordering. You really have to plan WAY in advance when you think you’re going to be hungry. Don’t mobile order when you’re haaaangry.

Google
Great place for a corn dog and funnel cake. I really wish I had tried the strawberry funnel cake. The chocolate one makes me feel like my heart is going to explode. The corn dog breading is simply amazing. Pro tip: I learned that I could shave a couple bucks off the price by asking for a corn dog and not bundled with fries or apples. Thank you very much!

Google
This was an easy place to find, order and get some food while taking a break. The food wasnt bad, wasnt great.

Google
My daughter got chicken strips, they were fine. I had a chicken Caesar wrap, worst chicken Caesar wrap I’ve ever had. It was 90% lettuce, I pulled most of it off and could have made a good sized salad with the mass quantity. There was very little chicken in it, more beans than chicken definitely.

Google
I've loved funnel cake since I was a kid. Usually the best place to get them is at the fair because they usually cook them to order. That's not quite the case at The Stage Door Cafe. Seems like they may make them just a bit ahead to keep up with orders. While I can understand the need to keep the lines moving, just a bit underwhelming for the price of $9.49 plus tax. The actual funnel cake is not overly sweet, but quite soggy except for the outer edges. I have had them with and without the toppings so unfortunately it's the same no matter. It's also luke warm which is how you'll know they aren't made "fresh".

Google
Delicious strawberry funnel cake, we shared as a family of 4 it was gone in minutes.

Google
The fries are delicious. The chicken fried steak sandwich was ok. The bun was really big and drowned out the crispness of the meat. The meat was all breading and had no flavor.

Google
Funnel cakes here are DELICIOUS! I ordered one with strawberries and whipped cream. Yum! 😋 I will definitley come back here next time to try this and other great foods they have.

Yelp
We mobile ordered the strawberry funnel cake as a snack during a long Disney day. It was really really quickly after ordering and was exactly as described. The whipped cream was nice and cool in contrast to the hot funnel cake and worked well on a warm day. Only suggestion would be to have a little more strawberry topping as it was a little bland after finishing all the strawberry.

Yelp
I always come to stage door cafe for my favorite corn dogs in Disneyland. We also got the gravy fries and the hot honey chicken tenders. I enjoyed the corn dogs as always with the hot and crunchy batter. The gravy fries were very yummy but it didn't come with enough sauce. We also liked the hot honey tenders but they didn't stand out. Overall I like stagedoor cafe and I'll definitely be back for the corn dogs.

Yelp
How do you run out of funnel cake and hot dogs when those are 2 of the 3 main items on the menu? I asked the cast member if they had any corn dogs left and if he had an ETA, he responded rudely that they were waiting for dogs. After this conversation, I heard another cast member ask the back kitchen if they were out of funnel cakes. I learned they were out of food. Maybe you should make a notification to the customers who are patiently waiting instead of be rude. People just left the line. The level of incompetence at this location is embarrassing.

Yelp
This is a quick service restaurant at Disneyland. They serve all your favorite fried foods: funnel cakes, chicken tenders, french fries, and hand-dipped corn dogs. Hey, they never said it was "The Healthiest Place on Earth" after all! You will find Stage Door Café in Frontierland, right next to another restaurant The Golden Horseshoe. Seating is all outdoors, with several tables and umbrellas in the adjacent patio. It's a little difficult finding a spot, but not impossible. You might have to hover around and wait until someone leaves. They don't really clean surfaces too often, so bring wet wipes. You can also just walk inside The Golden Horseshoe and sit down at an open table. Order inside at the register. If there's a line or you prefer not to wait, open the Disneyland app and mobile order before you arrive. The menu is similar to The Golden Horseshoe, just missing a few items like the ice cream sundaes. I ordered the fish & chips, which came with tartar sauce. It tasted like previously frozen, recently microwaved food. The chips were soggy, but passable. The fish had a gummy texture and the batter could have been crispier. Doesn't compare to Three Broomsticks at Universal Studios or the Yorkshire County Fish Shop at Epcot. Wish they would bring back the mozzarella sticks!

Yelp
*** Dessert Stop *** Strawberry funnel cake ... need I say more. Look at the photo. Order it using the mobile App. No wait and it comes to you still hot. The strawberries are sweet and the funnel cake is hot and crunchy in all the right places. Love it way better than a plain, boring ole' churro. Plus, it's big enough to share.

Yelp
This Disney trip, all I was craving was FRIED FOODS. And I knew just where to go. STAGE DOOR!!!! I ended up trying: Corn Dog, Fish and Chips, Chicken Tenders & Fries, and the Mozzarella Sticks & Fries. All the food ended up hitting the spot!! I was surprised by how delicious the Fish and Chips were! Probably the best dish of the bunch. The corn dog was delicious as well which is what you can expect since Disney knows how to do corn dogs! The mozzarella sticks had the most perfect cheese pull and were well seasoned. Usually mozzarella sticks are either too salty or too bland, but these were perfect. The dish that felt slightly short was the chicken tenders. The chicken tenders themselves were on the dry side, although the seasoning was good. The fries were standard! Nothing crazy, but still good. They have an array of sauces so I had a blast dipping all my fried foods in different dipping sauces. Overall, pretty affordable and tasty fried food options can be found at Stage Door!

Yelp
Stage Door Cafe is in Frontierland in Disneyland, near the waterfront. The area where you actually order and pick up your food is just a small, old, wooden, saloon-like storefront with no tables. They sell funnel cake, fish and chips, chicken tenders, and plant based chili fries. I ordered the Fish and Chips ($10.99) through the mobile app, picked up, and brought the food across the way to the outdoor tables near River Belle Terrace. I didn't really enjoy the fish and chips. The fish batter was not crispy, but more chewy. The fish inside the batter was just okay, but overall, there was not much flavor. The tarter sauce it came with helped with flavor a little, but was just so so. The fries were a little better than the fish, but not that great also. The fish and chips were very unfulfilling and a bit disappointing. I'll probably order something else at Disneyland next time.

Yelp
Perfect Midday Snack to recharge and keep going! During the Latin Heritage month, this is a new (and temporary) food item on the menu which is a delight. Pro Tip: smother the whipped cream over the funnel cake before eating. It's freshly made but some parts are drier than others. The spread whip cream will help! The bread does run dry so try to grab a drink with it- I would've gotten a hot coffee to pair with. The bread is beautiful but by itself doesn't have a particular taste. Shoutout to Disney cast members Chandra and Alé for helping me choose this option!

Yelp
Great Chicken tenders Great fries. Very good portion sizes for the price. BBQ sauce was top notch! Very delicious. Service was very quick. Within minutes of placing my mobile order the food was ready. Great environment, great food.

Yelp
Pros: Mobile ordering is convenient. Service was efficient, friendly. There are several tables and chairs just outside where you can enjoy your food if you won't be walking & eating. Cons: Corn dog and chimichanga were very overcooked. Both ends of my chimichanga were fried to the point of being inedible. Today was our first time at Stage Door Cafe in a couple of years, and the quality has definitely declined. I'll give them another try soon and hopefully get to update my review. Both the regular chimichanga and breakfast chimichanga are sold here, so be sure you order the one you want. Added this note because someone's review mentioned they were expecting the breakfast one. They sell both kinds (breakfast is seasonal).

Yelp
Fried foodie fans welcome... The only requirement my boyfriend had for the day besides watching the fireworks was a Disneyland corn dog and this place delivered. Aside from corn dogs they offer chicken strips and fries, fish and chips and funnel cakes. I'm pretty sure the only non fried items are the goldfish crackers and the cuties included in the kid's meals, lol. It is definitely a popular spot since it's quick counter service plus they have mobile ordering. I can't believe in all my Disney trips over the years this was my first visit to this place. But I will definitely keep them in mind since he said the corn dog was really good and I caught a glimpse of the funnel cakes which looked delicious. Arteries beware!

Yelp
I saw a tip from a YouTube vlogger that you should go here if you want a funnel cake that's been fancied up, it always varies with the season so you never know what you're going to get from month to month. When we went, the funnel cake was topped with brownies and strawberries. Thumbs up! Filled our craving for funnel cake and dare I say it rivals Knotts Berry Farm's funnel cake?!?! I do dare. I'm a bit envious of pix posted here from others reviews, wish mine had blueberries on it! I also saw some that had cheesecake bits on it with the strawberry and another that was dressed up like an apple pie! But all in all, worthy of seeking out when coming to the happiest place on earth.

Yelp
Been to Stage Door Cafe a few times and it's delicious. I've had the Chicken Tenders with Fries, Fish and Chips, Hand-dipped Corn Dog with Cuties Mandarin Oranges or Lays Classic Chips and Classic Funnel Cake. I would go out of my way to come here for the corn dog. The chicken tenders and fish and chips are tasty and decent, nothing different than your standard ones. The fries are also standard. They are not going to blow your mind but are still decent. Got these because I wanted a quick bite and I always crave chicken tenders. Each order comes with a lot of food so I like to share it with another person or else I'll be really full and can't try the rest of the food at the park. Gotten the corn dogs from here quite a few times now and they taste just as good as the ones from Little Red Wagon. I really can't taste the difference, I think they are the same. I come here instead to avoid the line at Little Red Wagon. The corn dogs are one of my favorite things to get at Disneyland, the best corn dogs I've ever had, no joke. The corn dog batter they use is so tasty. It's fried to a crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and full of flavor. They also come out piping hot, I love it. They are my second favorite thing to eat at Disneyland, a must. If you're at Disney California Adventure, you can also get corn dogs at Corn Dog Castle. They taste the exact same to me, so good. The funnel cake here is delicious, however, it's not the best funnel cake I've had. The reason for this is because I think they make the funnel cake too crispy. I like when my funnel cake is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, I still want to taste the cake. I guess they do this so that it's not soggy, but it's just way too crispy, still decent though. I think the funnel cakes at OC Fair, Knott's Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain are better. I share both these orders with another person because they're big and I can't finish on my own. The funnel cake is big, your standard size but it's a lot for two people, still can't finish it. It's located inside Disneyland at Frontierland. Service is quick and friendly. Another thing I like about getting my corn dogs here is that there is lots outside covered seating unlike Little Red Wagon. The seating is casual but nice. Seating can get crowded during prime hours, you just have to wait a bit for people to leave. You can order in line but I like to place a mobile order to skip the line. There's usually immediate time slots available, no wait. You just have to wait for your food to be prepared, usually less than a five minute wait. I think the price is fair here accounting for inflation. Also keep in mind food inside the park is going to cost more, as expected. The amount of food you get and the amazing corn dogs are worth the price.

Yelp
Round 2 at Stage Door Cafe and I got their seasonal spicy corn dog with a side of chips. Be aware, this is one of the menu items that are NOT available via mobile ordering, you have to order it in person. This location has a small inside portion where you order, wait for your food, pick it up and then you can sit outside (plentiful seating). All of the utensils and condiments are outside as well. I overheard a cast member saying that there's a drink called a "Blue Fairy" where it's a mix of blue Powerade, lemonade, and Sprite. I gotta check that out one day. The spicy corn dog was massive, had a nice battered exterior that was slightly crispy and fluffy on the inside. Nacho cheese was drizzled on top with some Hot Cheetos crumbs. The actual hot dog inside was "spiced", not spicy at all. With a discount, this was around $9 with a bag of Lays (you have the option for a Cutie fruit too) and I was able to save half of it for the next day. Not bad!

Yelp
Love funnel cake. Had to try the seasonal specialty and we were not disappointed! Ordered in the Disney app. Such a great tool! Went to pick up my funnel cake and it was beautiful! Warm and still crispy in the outside, covered with chocolate sauce and cold brew sauce, peppermint pieces, and whipped cream. It was a delightful afternoon snack! Timing was great - there were several open tables. Would definitely get another funnel cake from here again the next time in Disney.

Yelp
This is where you'd go for anything fried - corn dogs, fish & chips, chicken fingers, funnel cake which looked pretty good, and they also have turkey legs - we were looking for the breakfast chimichanga, and had gone to the normal spot we had gotten them only to find a sign directing us to the Stage Door Cafe. Well just be warned - if you're looking for the breakfast chimi, don't be fooled by the chimi on the mobile order app. It turns out that the Stage Door Cafe chimi is a terrible fried bean burrito - not the egg and potato breakfast chimichanga we had hoped for. So be sure to ask ... or make sure you specifically order a 'Breakfast' chimichanga. Consider yourself warned!!

Yelp
Food is pretty good the chicken tenders are amazing and so as the fries. When I ordered the food came out immediately fresh and the waitress nice. Inside is pretty small but it's smells delicious.
google avatar

Neen M.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for fried food and this place has all.the.things. There's options for everyone. In my option though the impossible cheese fries are the BEST on their menu. I'm not vegan but I love a good meal whether it's vegan or not. Although the fried aspect isn't necessarily my prime choice, there's something about the flavors in this meal that make it unique and different from other choices in the park.

Yelp
Stage Door Cafe Ratings: 4.2/5 Food: 4.5/5 - My boyfriend was craving for a funnel cake since we entered Disneyland. I haven't had a funnel cake in a hot minute, so was down for a treat as well. This seasonal funnel cake was beyond delicious, and we quickly finished it despite we were still pretty full from our lunch earlier. See the description of the funnel cake we got to share below. - Pumpkin-Spiced Funnel Cake [GET]: Funnel cake was insanely tasty, so nostalgic. The funnel cake itself was fried perfectly with a soft, airy, and fluffy interior and an amazing crunchy outer layer and crispy edges. I loved the whipped cream on top, the subtly sweetness and creamy texture from it really balances out the cake. The pumpkin spiced wasn't too strong, wished it was stronger though. The only downside was the caramel bites, made the funnel cake a bit too sweet for me, so my boyfriend had to eat most of it. Ambiance: 4.25/5 - The interior is small, so it only allows us to order food, pick it up, but we can dine outdoor. There's plentiful of seating outside, so no need to panic for a seat. We also got a view of the review, overall, it's a great relaxing spot to rest and chill before you head out for your next adventure! Price: 4/5 - The seasonal pumpkin-spiced funnel cake came up to be around $10 after tax. The funnel is huge and fantastic. It is totally worth the price, because we were very happy after eating it, at least my boyfriend was happy, and it's just so nostalgic to the both of us and my siblings. Service: 4/5 - The service here is what you would expect at most of Disneyland food spots. Staffs are kind and always full of energy. The ordering process here is quick and easy, and the food comes out within 5 to 10 minutes. I think you can also mobile order for pick up, but this spot wasn't busy at all, so we did it in person. BLUF: Come try the funnel cake here! It was amazing, and make sure to get the seasonal ones. They are wonderful and lovely. I loved the texture the most, just imagine a fluffy and freshly made funnel cake coated with caramel and topped with goodness, but still got that crispy edges and slight crunch every bite. It is definitely something you wouldn't want to miss when in Disneyland.

Paola V.

Yelp
The funnel cake was stale. The overall quality of the funnel cake wasn't good since I've definitely had better at Disneyland. The guy taking our order was a little rude as well.
google avatar

Nyla J.

Yelp
Probably the most affordable snacks/food on the Disneyland park. Fish sticks were horrible, chicken tenders were ok, corn dog was tasty.. nothing special over here. Just affordable kids food that will get them full, and for that i give them 5 stars. Im addition. The cleaning servers will clean the tables after every use.

Yelp
This was the first time I got to try the stage door . We normally loved to do lunch at the Golden Horseshoe next door before the pandemic so we never checked out this place but I know they have good seasonal options that I always want to check out. This place has only seating outside and is definitely a grab and go kind of place. We were in Disneyland on 11/16/2021 and we decided that we would do a day of trying out yummy seasonal treats we had our eyes on. For me that was the spicy corn dog ($10.99) comes with chips .Now the corn dog was a good size and the hot dog had a great flavor to it. On the outside of the corn dog had a liquid nacho cheese and sprinkled on top was crushed spicy Cheetos . Now to me this really wasn't spicy but it was good.
google avatar

Andrea N.

Yelp
I love Disneyland corn dogs. This one was $10 though which was not super worth in my opinion. The batter was super crunchy & flavorful & just as good as I remembered. It is getting smaller and smaller as the years go on & the price keeps increasing. I can't justify paying 10$ for a corn dog but it was very tasty.
google avatar

Tameka L.

Yelp
Chicken and fries. 3 chicken tenders and an order of fries. No matter how you say it the cost was 11.99. Pretty steep. It came with dipping sauce . While the taste was okay for the price I was expecting more .I used it as a more of a snack than a meal and split it.
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
So my girlfriend and I decided to go to Disneyland yesterday and Stage Door Cafe was one of our stops for food! We decided to get the seasonal Valentine's day themed Cheesecake Funnel Cake and it was only $8.99 which is cheap compared to other food items at Disneyland. Funnel Cake took about what 10 minutes to prepare and we both thought that it was amazing! I highly recommend checking out this funnel cake before it goes away!
google avatar

Blair S.

Yelp
I took my boyfriend for a day of magic at Disneyland and we made it a point to try the Strawberry cheesecake funnel cake since this seemed like a limited time thing. This singlehandedly satisfied my cravings for something sweet the whole day! We both shared one and it was more than enough. It surprisingly had the perfect balance of crispy edges, soft fluffy middle and cream
google avatar

Sandy M.

Yelp
Got hungry and wanted some chicken tenders and this is what they have. Ordered chicken tenders and fish and chips. The fish and chips were the star actually, it had a light batter and the fish strips were pretty large and was moist and tender. Chicken tenders were pretty good, it's just that the batter was a little too much, so it made the tenders a little hard on the outside, but the tenders were still moist there. Pretty good lunch/quick snack and the line wasn't long either. You can also order via the mobile app and go there for pick up, but I saw that the wait time for mobile order was longer, so opted to stand in line.
google avatar

Wan L.

Yelp
I love their funnel cakes! They're crispy and light. Order the chocolate-hazelnut if available. It's topped with espresso powder, chocolate hazelnut drizzle (Nutella), sprinkles and a cute whipped cream shaped Mickey! YUM!
google avatar

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Ok let's start the review with a claim....I LOVE.... LOVE..... LOVE..... Corn dogs! I like hotdogs... But corn dogs are so much better in my opinion. Anyhow, now that the claim is out of the way....:) Guess what I got?? Yup you guessed it! I got a corn dog! Lol I wished that they still had the spicy version but on the Disney app you could only order the regular corn dog. You have a choice of fries or little cuties. I got little cuties with my corn dog. That is where they lost the one star cuz even though it is a theme park.... Maybe they should change the wording? They specifically said little cuties but all I got was a Mandarin orange. :/ I almost choked on the Mandarin orange cuz of the seeds. It takes great but I'm not kidding when I say that I had to spit out like 30ish seeds out of one little Mandarin orange. The corn dog on the other hand was delicious! It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I ate it with mustard and ketchup and it was yummilcious!! Yes I will definitely be getting this again!

Yelp
It gets a 4 bc it's disneyland and it's expensive.. at this place if the food comes with chips you can get it without and for a cheaper price. They take off 1.50 for the bag of chips not sure how much on fries. They have good frozen fish and chips.

Emma S.

Yelp
The corn dog is soooo good from here! It is also a generous size. The only annoying thing is they upcharge $5 to get fries rather than chips which is crazy. I wish you could sub the chips for fries. Ended up ordering a side of fries to go along with the corn dog. It is all outdoor seating.

Yelp
Chimichanga and Diet Coke. Disney frontier land. Tasty, fast service. I was fortunate the day was not too busy. Plenty of places to sit.
google avatar

Doan P.

Yelp
My friends and I were stuffed from having Alien Planet food, but we still wanted to make my friend's goal of always having food in her hand/mouth for the entire day haha. So we decided to get this cheesecake strawberry funnel cake which looks like a special for Valentine's Day. Despite being extremely full, this funnel cake was just beyond delicious! The slight crunch of the funnel cake along with the subtly sweet strawberry and cream made it the perfect combo!! There were also bits of cheesecake that added to the overall taste. Was very surprised that we finished it! I wish they had this funnel cake all season long, but I will definitely come back next February for this same funnel cake. I also got the corndog, but dont even bother. Just your typical grocery store corndog. So only 5/5 for the funnel caken

Yelp
Apple Pie Funnel Cake: Seasonal offering for fall. The funnel cake was incredible, but the streusel and cajeta were blah. Like an animal, I was scraping off this extra topping stuff (in the dark as I watched Fantasmic) to eat the funnel cake as plainly as I could manage. I wished I had simply ordered the normal funnel cake - because the only reason I didn't do mobile ordering at this joint was that the Seasonal Offering funnel cake wasn't on that mobile ordering menu. I am going to divide my score: for the epic, delicious and fresh fried funnel cake 5/5, for the toppings 2/5. Children's Fried Chicken Slider Meal: The bread for the little slider is quite stale, but the meal comes with milk (I llllooooove milk), an apple sauce go-gurt thing and a mandarin orange. After 3,000 empty calories of fried or sugary food in my prior meals of the day I found myself incredibly thirsty while I waited in the Stagedoor line - so this little Kid's Menu item called out to me because of the milk/orange/apple sauce combo. I admitted to the lady it was for me not a child and she was fine with that (thank you for not judging). It was ... as expected an A-OK 3.5/5. If I had been able to wait in the quick Mobile ordering line (i.e. if the funnel cake that was my whole reason for coming to this stop was available for mobile ordering) then I wouldn't have waited 15 minutes in line and then 7 minutes for my food to come out. I think it should be a pretty easy fix to add the seasonal offerings to the Mobile Ordering - what do you say Disney? :)
google avatar

Ludin J.

Yelp
I've been here 2 times over the past month and I'm just so sad there isn't anymore chicken nuggets. I know that chicken tenders are basically the same thing, however, the chicken nuggets truly had a different taste. The texture made them crunchier and in my opinion tastier. They also switched their sauces from hidden valley to something less good. I'm very sad and hope that Disney will bring them back. No sense in ruining something that was already great :(

Yelp
3.5 Yesterday was a really busy day at Disneyland and most places had a 1-2 hour wait. Stage Door Café was only a 15 minute wait. We were so hungry we became dizzy. We tried the Halloween special spicy corn dogs which is covered in cheese and Hot Cheeto crumbs. It does have a little kick to it and they're really big and heavy, but it was mainly all batter. You'll definitely get full by this corn dog! I don't think i would've ate it if it didn't have cheese. On the other hand, the fries were good.

Samantha S.

Yelp
Corndogs at DL hit different. They are soooo good. It's right next door to the Golden Horseshoe, so it's easy to miss if there isn't a line. You order outside and sit outside, if you want to sit.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Fast, walk in and walk out eatery. Most of the food is fried and there is only sitting outside. Inside is small and just big enough to order and pick up your food. Nothing on the menu particularly excites me. Although service is semi fast.
google avatar

Kendall A.

Yelp
Located on the side of the Golden Horseshoe is the Stage Door cafe. It's a small food spot with quick service & shorter lines. Stage Door is probably one of my favorite spots for a quick bite at Disneyland. I usually head here to beat the crazy lines of main st and grab myself a delicious corn dog. The employees are dressed very western and the service is always great. They have promotional food items for a limited time sometimes which is cool, last time was a toy story funnel cake that looked delicious! With plenty of outdoor seating, eating at the stage door is a breeze. You can also grab your food then enjoy it inside the Golden as well, no issues. So next time the lines are long and your belly is growling, grab the family and head over to the stage door and say "howdy" while you enjoy their Disney treats.
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
I'm definitely a fan of Stage Door Cafe because their chicken strips are THE BEST chicken strips I have had in the Disneyland park. The chicken strips taste different here, much better than the other places I have tried. If I were to rank the chicken strips (for the places I've had them at) the ranking would be: 1. Stage Door Cafe - best tasting strips. The food temperature was hot. Chicken and fries were fresh, and delicious. 2. Galactic Grill - second best tasting strips. Adequate temperature, but not as tasty as Stage Door. 3. Smoke Jumpers Grill - by far, the worst strips in the park (that I've tried). Not adequate serving temperature, smaller pieces, and just had no flavor. At Stage Door, there's a limited amount of umbrella tables. When you dine during the peak hours, it's harder to get a table. The line to order gets to be LONG! So it's recommended to use Mobile Order. Overall, I'm a fan because of the tasty food, ease of ordering and pickup, and ambiance in the area.

Yelp
Stage Door is located in the corner by the Golden Horseshoe, and is a great grab-n-go fast food counter. Food ordered: 1. Chicken Nuggets: 5/5 - I liked how the chicken nuggets were not too oily and had a nice crunchy breading, while the inside meat was soft. I chose the honey mustard sauce on the side, and it also came with a side of fries. Not the healthiest choice and pricier, but it's Disneyland.

Yelp
If you are going to get any sweet treat at Disneyland, get the churros funnel cake. This one can be found at the stage door cafe and is big enough to share. Highly recommend grabbing one and then heading over to Main street to catch the fireworks show

Yelp
Absolutely worst chicken tenders ever. Not even real tenders. They chained their sourcing during the pandemic and the result is not good. Do not recommend.

Yelp
Visited yesterday. Food was OK at best. Chimichanga was not great but not bad. Just kinda felt like a frozen chimichanga from the grocery store and fried. Nothing imposible about the imposible Chili cheese fries. Mobile service was great as usual.

Yelp
My favorite place to stop in for a quick bite to eat at Disneyland! Located off of the side of the Stage Door Cafe, between Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! I love the Chicken Nuggets and Fries here! Their BBQ sauce is delicious and it's the perfect filling meal! There is normally seating outside and even if the line is long, it moves pretty quickly! Nothing fancy, but good, and pretty cheap for Disney standards!

Yelp
Date of visit: September 22, 2017 The Stage Door Cafe is the walk-up version of the Golden Horseshoe Cafe; as such, almost the same menu (minus the ice cream treats) are served here. Well, almost... as the Stage Door Cafe has one item that isn't found at the Disneyland Resort as far as I know as of this writing - mozzarella sticks. That's right, folks, Disneyland has MOZZARELLA STICKS. We were looking for a quick place to eat during Mickey's Halloween Party, and seeing how I'd read about the secret menu items at the park, told my lady that we should try the Stage Door Cafe for said mozzarella sticks. Now, what we didn't know is that while we thought that the mozzarella sticks would be a separate side item, we didn't know that they came with a choice of fries or apple slices on the side, and we chose fries. Well, that normally wouldn't be so bad... except we'd also ordered fish and chips, and of course those orders came with fries! The mozzarella sticks were actually pretty good - they were a good size, very gooey, and the coating was just about right. The fried fish fillets were the same quality as the ones inside the Golden Horseshoe - large and crispy. We had way too many fries to finish off, so we packaged what we could and brought them home to use for corned beef hash the following morning. Quick ordering, and a good alternative to the Golden Horseshoe if you can't find seating inside and/or don't want to order ice cream there.

Yelp
Who doesn't love Funnel Cake? Stage Door Cafe is one of the quicker food places in Disneyland that serves up quick eats such as chicken tenders, corn dogs, etc. It is one of the cheaper places in the park but I find the portions for their meals to be on the smaller side and with such basic types of food, you're better off eating outside the park or somewhere else. But if you have picky eaters with you, this place would be perfect. The funnel cake here is great but I love the option they give you to do half and half, meaning you could choose two different flavors. My friend and I split this ($8) and chose strawberry and their brownie flavor. The brownie side was a little too sweet for our liking but the strawberry was perfect! If you're ever craving a classic funnel cake, Stage Door Cafe is a great spot. *TIP*: Hungry Bear Cafe in Critter Country has more unique flavors seasonal funnel cake flavors if you're interested in that!

Yelp
Tucked right behind The Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland, the Stage Door Cafe is another quick service option in the area for the park guest on-the-go. The menu is not as lush as Hungry Bear and they do serve similar fare to The Golden Horseshoe, however, there are a few menu items that make this stop unique: corn dog, grilled chicken spinach wrap, chicken fried steak sandwich, and...THE FUNNEL CAKE! My go-to order at Stage Door Cafe is the hand-dipped corn dog (no need to walk all the way back to the front of the park for your corn dog fix anymore) and a funnel cake to share for dessert with whoever I'm at the park with for the day. The corn dog is always super massive and perfectly fried. It is my favorite guilty pleasure at Disneyland. The strawberry topped funnel cake is a classic theme park staple, but the mickey shaped whipped cream on the top always seems to add some extra magic for me. I can't not order it when dining at Stage Door Cafe. Although The Golden Horseshoe can get packed, especially when a show is taking place, the cast members are able to efficiently move through the line with a reasonable wait time. Every time I order at Stage Door Cafe (when not using Mobile Order), it takes forever! Then by the time I get to the front, it is a toss up whether I will get a friendly or annoyed cast member on the other end. Choose your fate, ya'll! The Stage Door Cafe does take mobile orders through the Disneyland App and has a dedicated line all the way at the end to process and distribute these orders. I used it for the first time this weekend, and it was so freaking fast! My hubby was ordering food next door at The Golden Horseshoe, but ended up waiting in the non-mobile order line because the app was giving him trouble. I placed my order at Stage Door Cafe, ran around the corner, and my order was already ready! It took me less than 3 minutes to walk over there, pick up my food, grab my condiments, and meet my husband back in line at The Golden Horseshoe. He still hadn't even ordered yet! Save yourself some valuable park time and use the Mobile Order service. PRO TIP: Any Annual Passholders? They sometimes distribute special AP exclusive buttons when you place a mobile order. Only certain restaurants do it, and it rotates which one every couple of months. Annual Passholder discounts apply. Pro-tip: As noted in my other Disneyland reviews, be sure to ask about special seasonal menu items. There is always something going on at the resort and they usually have themed items to the season/event. They often have additional signage near the registers, but if by chance you don't see any, ask the cast member ringing you up! Special menu items are also usually available through mobile order.

Yelp
While most people will sing the praises of the Red Wagon corn dog, this is the exact same one, except you get the choice of fries instead of chips. Now unless you are evil reborn, you want the fries. Sorry, who prefers chips over fries? Evil people! Moving on. This place has fries! You can also get apple slices, but if that's you, we cannot be friends. I don't care about your waist line, diet, or arteries. You're eating a corn dog at Disneyland. This isn't the time nor place. Sorrynotsorry. Honestly, this is my favorite corn dog. So besides the corn dog, they offer standard fried goodness; chicken tenders, fish and chips, funnel cake. With the Disney app you can even mobile order which is incredibly convenient. I placed and order getting off Pirates and by the time I was there, it was pretty much ready. They have plenty of outdoor seating, so no fighting for a bench here.
