Howard Schultz Is Leaving Starbucks | Eater

"Long shaped by its longtime leader, this global coffee chain was purchased in 1987 and grew into nearly 30,000 stores worldwide under his stewardship, expanding rapidly in China (at times opening more than one store per day). It is widely credited with popularizing espresso drinks in the U.S. after an early push to recreate Italian-style coffeehouse espresso bars, and later developed premium concepts such as Reserve locations and Roasteries. The company has pursued progressive workplace initiatives—large-scale veteran hiring programs and expanded parental leave—but has also faced controversial campaigns and public-relations setbacks, including the ill-received “Race Together” cup effort and a high-profile incident in a Philadelphia store that prompted the temporary closure of about 8,000 U.S. locations for racial-bias training. The recent transition of its longtime CEO into a chairman emeritus role has fueled speculation about his future, including potential public service or political ambitions." - Whitney Filloon

I arrived at this Starbucks at 5 p.m., well before the listed closing time of 6 p.m., but they refused to take any food orders, saying they were about to close. It felt more like the staff just didn’t want to take orders rather than actually closing. The hours should reflect when they truly stop serving.

There's a monster barista who seems to think she's doing me a favor by charging me for coffee. She doesn't understand that her job is to serve customers and be kind to them. It's disappointing to see that Starbucks doesn't train their baristas on proper customer service.

Amazing staff and great seating space! Faster service than the corporate stores only a couple blocks away.

It's a shame that for a Google review you have to give at least one star. The staff were incredibly unfriendly and frankly rude to us when we were ordering. We stood right there in the line and when the person in front of us was finished, the staff member shouted "next customer" as if they thought they were working in the stock exchange. It's a shame, because the venue is lovely, but the staff really ruin the experience.

It is said that they’re open until 6PM, but every time I go there on Saturday or Sunday, they’re usually closed at 4-5PM. Today, for example, I went there to quickly get a coffee at 4:45PM and they were already closed. It’s super-annoying! There are a lot of flies and bugs in the food area, so I wouldn’t recommend eating that.
