New Austin Cafe and Bar Stargazer Opens in the Govalle Neighborhood | Eater Austin
"Opening in Govalle at 979 Springdale Road, Suite 130 starting Friday, November 15, this new all-day café and bar takes over a former tasting-room space and will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The drinks program spans regular coffees and specialty coffees such as the Golden Moon (espresso, turmeric, and black pepper) and the Lion Star mocha (espresso, lion’s mane mushrooms, and chocolate); alcoholic cocktails including the frozen Galatic Grapefruit with tequila and the Rum Punch Mothership with rum, apple cider, lemon, and ginger; and nonalcoholic cocktails such as the Berry Boost (raspberry, lime, and basil) and the frozen Tamarind Trip (tamarind, lime, lemon, and agave). The bar emphasizes cannabinoid-forward options: customers can add CBD to existing drinks, and there’s a special THC drink menu with items like the Calexo Citron (apple, lemon, sparkling water, and hemp) and the Louie Louie Satsuma (agave, orange, satsuma, cinnamon, thyme, and hemp). Wines and draft beers are also available. Food offerings include two food trucks — the inherited Dripping Springs Tender Co. (chicken tenders and sides) and Santo Patio (tacos) — plus a counter serving gluten-free pastries by Maaribu, prepared meals by Lucky Lime, kolaches from Batch, and ice cream scoops by Lick Honest Ice Creams; customers can also place pickup orders from next-door pizzeria Bambinovia via QR codes. Co-owners Moya McIntyre and Colin McIntyre, who also run the adjacent event venue Springdale Station, chose the name after their favorite flower and the newly installed rocket-ship structure in the children’s play area; they’ve added new tables and umbrellas, landscaping, and other revamps. For the first day there will be specials and events: 7 a.m.–noon buy-one-get-one-free coffees, a free ice cream scoop for the first 50 kids, and a 6–10 p.m. party with drinks, a DJ, a band, and a floral bouquet bar. Indoor and outdoor dine-in areas are available." - Nadia Chaudhury
