"Set in a space that once housed the Tampa Electrical Company's main offices, the stripped-down, industrial-chic aesthetic mirrors an air of studied nonchalance. Essentially a steakhouse with a Southern drawl, the menu here focuses on meats cooked over a blazing grill fueled by mesquite and oak.Composed plates, like a brick chicken served with hominy, tasso ham and green tomato chowchow, have their merit, but most diners direct their attention to an assortment of exceptional steaks. The meat's provenance is what sets the offerings apart: a partnership with a local rancher provides grass-fed, grain-finished cattle specifically for the restaurant's use, minimizing waste and maximizing flavor—and few would dispute the caliber of the end product." - Michelin Inspector

Inside Armature Works, this Southern chophouse grinds its own beef and grills over oak and mesquite. Tampa Magazine has spotlighted the Bach Burger, and locals swear by the wood-kissed patties, great whiskey list, and riverfront energy.

Some times it is very hard to rate a good place, simply because the cost for food is just unnecessarily to high. What I spent for dinner would have made for one heck of a boat day for my family. With that, let's dig in to this one. Arriving in Tampa for my sons last night befor heading off to start his new army career. There was no wait, we were taken right to a booth near the front of the restaurant. The lighting was soft casting a warm glow about the dinning room. Our server explained that the concept was farm to table. Thinking cutting out the middle people would have saved some money. You order your entrée and sides to share. Over all the hole experience was really nice. My stake was a little over cooked, not worth sending back for. The meat little on the tougher side than expected. The truffle sweet potatoes were the shiznit. Would not have ever thought to pair those two, but they came out great. I would say for you to try it at least once, but save money it's not cheap by any means.

The food was delicious. I ordered grouper, and it was "melt in your mouth" amazing! My husband loved the very well-seasoned fried chicken. I also very much loved the cornbread. It was very busy, and our waiter was doing his very best to keep up. I think they may

Atmosphere: fantastic overall ambience with moody lighting and elegant decor. The 90s background music broke the setting and brought down an otherwise 5 star experience. Food: appropriately seasoned, beautifully garnished, and plentiful portion sizes. The pancake stack changes favors every weekend, which entices a return visit. Service: underwhelming. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostesses scattered as if we had disturbed their morning gossip. After being seated, we were served water and told an appetizer could only be put in by our server. A second gentleman came around to give us napkins to go under our waters, and didn’t even make eye contact or address our table. After another 10 minutes of waiting for our server, we had to go back up to the hostess table to ask that our table would be waited on. When we finally received our server, she highlighted with the restaurant was known for from the dinner menu. We were there for brunch. Overall, everyone was pleasant, but the service was undercooked and blasé.

Sydney was or bartender. Awesome service. I had steak, eggs, asparagus, potatoes with red-eye cream gravy. Prefect rare (blue) steak. Wife had steak and potatoes. Steak had to be sent back twice. Cooked med-rare not well done. Sasha the manager personally corrected it. Drinks were amazing. In-house bloody mary mix.

The food was delicious! I had the French onion soup, boneless filet, charred broccoli, and mac and cheese. Drink options were good and I'd highly recommend "This is a stick up" from the cocktail menu. One order was delayed due to some wifi issues but the waitress and manager kept us up to date and gifted us cornbread and desserts to make up for it. Even with the delayed food service our visit was great. The steaks were cooked perfectly! I visited with a friend for a girl's night out but this would be a great venue for a date night or family dinner to celebrate a special event. We sat outdoor which was great however I'd recommend checking the events at Armature Works before booking outside (if there are car event sit inside).

We have now dined here and had 4 different meals. I am happy to report to my 7M viewers that this is a MUST VISIT!! Yes, it is worth the drive!!! First up was the Grouper PoBoy, disappointing in that the Grouper is in nugget form and not aplenty. Tomatoes were aplenty and end up sogging the delicious bread vessel by the time you get to the 2nd half of the sandwich. Next up, Shrimp and Grits are second on my list with only New Orleans topping these at Steel Steelbach. Extra Large Shrimp (5), velvet textured, smooth grits and I would love to purchase that Cajun Sausage, this dish wowed me in a very special way since i have eaten Shrimp nearly every place that has it on the menu!!! Next up, the Burger and fries...so we all know a good burger, we all know a bad burger, this was one of the best gourmet burgers we've ever had and may in fact be number one!!! The bun was outstanding and cloud like, the beef was not some frozen 3x over patty, there is a clear difference here, then what I think may have been gruyere cheese the dressing and pickles, this is a 5 all day, everyday in my opinion!!! Lastly, I ordered a wedge salad with grilled chicken, this is the absolute best and most balanced wedge salad I have ever experienced. First, the smoky beef bacon brings an element that no other wedge salad has, then the perfectly grilled brined chicken, there is a difference between brined and not brined chicken. Now in every bite literally your getting smoky bacon, sweet tomato, avocado chunks and chicken, when topped with the homemade blue cheese dressing it simply cannot be beat!!! So far we have had the chocolate layered cherry delight of a dessert and the carrot cake with ginger ice cream, even if you take it to go, get you some and thank me later!!! *****THIS IS A MUST VISIT!!! PS....they cook over a wood fire and IYKYK, this is a game changer!!!

We came on vacations two weeks ago and had lunch at the restaurant didn’t had reservation and the service team immediately helped us with a very comfortable table. The restaurant ambiance was pretty good nice decoration and cozy. I’ve got to say service was absolutely outstanding, explanation on the menu and permanently attended all time. Food was also pretty good I’ll firmly recommend the ribeye steak one of the best I’ve ever tried in a long time definitely in my top 5 of steaks very juicy tender packed with flavor and cooked perfectly delicious smoked taste, the roasted chicken, cooked on perfection, tender and juicy same as the salmon! Last but not least the chocolate cake powerfull chocolate taste delicious maybe could work more on the dish presentation but overall very good. Definitely recommend this place y hope coming soon in the future. Congratulations to all Steelbach team and thank you

Potential to be a great resteraunt. We went there because it was mentioned on the Michelin website for upcoming. I'm sorry to say.. not yet. The French onion soup was fantastic ($18) The everything role with prime rib was disappointing ($19). Bread so dry it fell apart. The prime rib was thin and dry with no flavor. Chicken club was good only if you get the Garlic Aioli on the side and remove the piece of bread in the middle. The fire roasted chicken with char vegetables was great. Made it worth trying another visit for dinner. We ordered the carrot cake dessert and got it to go. They said it was free because of the Everything role disappointment. Got it home and had another disappointment.😞 . Small size for $12. See pick. The service was excellent. This girl rocked!

Yelp
Fantastic experience at Steelbach! Nicholas was a great server - attentive, friendly, and made the evening feel special. The food was excellent from start to finish: the bone marrow was rich and flavorful, the steak was a great cut (slightly overcooked though), the shrimp great, and the oysters were a hit. The sweet potato truffle purée was an unexpected standout - silky, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the meal. Steelbach's delivers on both quality and atmosphere, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

I would go back if I get Hunter the waiter every single time! Great food and drinks. Service outstanding. And Hunter the waiter deliciously good looking.

Yelp
Had an INCREDIBLE meal and time at Steelbach and can't wait to go back next time I'm in Tampa! I came here because I was looking for good gluten free meal options while in Tampa for the weekend. The Find me Gluten Free app had some good reviews for this place, and what really caught my attention was that they had a GF french onion soup, which is my favorite. Unfortunately, I went on a Sunday during brunch time, and the brunch menu does not include the french onion soup. Fortunately, I sat at the bar and my bartender/server Asia was super helpful and willing to look into what I could have (the regular menu has more GF options, while the brunch one doesn't really have any callouts). I first ordered the avocado & fennel salad and added grilled shrimp to it, and enjoyed the juxtaposition of flavors. I was still hungry, so I ordered the pomegranate/goat cheese salad and that one was even more delicious. I accompanied my meal with their lychee martini and OH MY GOD - one of the best lychee martinis I've ever had. Not too sweet, really hits the spot. I think I ordered the second salad more so that I could have a second martini without getting too buzzed. And to close, I ordered the pavlova for dessert as I had seen it recommended by fellow GF reviewers. Although I had 3 plates + drinks by myself, they were super light and fresh and I did not feel too full by the end of it. I am planning to go back to Tampa soon just so I can go enjoy the french onion soup, and some more lychee martini.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in I was impressed with the rustic charm. Definitely a nice spot for drinks and appetizers or even a date, but the food left a lot to be desired. We came in for brunch. My spouse got the steak and egg. His egg was ordered over easy but came out yolk solid. The steak lacked flavor, was slightly over cooked (we ordered medium and received medium well). I tried the Nashville hot with fried chicken, egg, and potatoes. I thought surely that was a safe option. However, I received more biscuit than chicken. My egg was easy as I asked, however I had to borrow the steak knife to cut the biscuit . We also had an underwhelming monkey bread appetizer that the server was raving about before we ordered. Nice place for ambiance n pics....not necessarily food.

Yelp
Awesome food and awesome service. Atmosphere was right on point! We ate so good! My sister in law got the skirt steak salad and she said it was the best meal she's ever had! And she travels a lot so that is very high praise! My grouper po boy was amazing! Best remoulade I have ever had!

Yelp
Wow oh wow. This place was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was in the Tampa área and decide to stop here for brunch. Our server Hunter was very good and informative. After learning that they have a cattle ranch where they get their beef from and being grass fed with the last 2 month being fed grain for some fat, I had to try their steak. They were so amazing and the portions were very fair. The potato pave was amazing as well. We had a great experience and the ambiance overall was great.

Yelp
Enjoyed Mother's Day brunch here. American fare in an industrial feeling location. Large bar area, dining for groups and couples, and patio seating. We enjoyed the mimosa flight(a but sweet), biscuits for the table, Cobb salad with salmon, fried chicken biscuit sandwich, steak sandwich And more. Fries were yummy. Nothing was bad and service was good. There is valet and a lot outside($10). Street parking if you can find it. Make a reservation.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to have lunch at Steelbach during a recent trip to Tamps. We had high hopes but, unfortunately, the experience wasn't great. While the service we received was very good...and that's the reason for 3 stars...the food was disappointing. Flavorless and overpriced, it left us feeling regretful.

Yelp
This has been on my bucket list for sure to check out, due to the location and the diverse menu that's more than your run-of-the-mill steakhouse (even though I love those, too), and I thought my birthday dinner would be a perfect time to do it! It was a hot day, but the good folks seated me in front of one of their large fans on the patio (which felt GREAT) right away. That's a good thing if I'm going to have to eat outside with my dog. My server was prompt getting me something to drink and giving me time to peruse the menu. I knew right away that I would want the duck because duck is hard to find in general, so I get it every chance I get. I had the heirloom tomato salad with it after debating between that and the Cesear salad. Well, kudos to my server who made a great call on that one, as the Cesear salad is HUGE. Plus the heirloom tomato salad itself is DELICIOUS and refreshing to eat, something kind of rare for a salad nowadays. It had the right balance of earthy and sweet flavors to satisfy me just enough before the main course. Duck is always a great choice for me. This duck did not disappoint. Juicy, soft, and LOADED with flavor. I love the accompaniment of the mushrooms and sweet potato instead of rice. The duck was a great size too and nicely plated. The service was outstanding here, and everyone was great at checking to be sure everything was great. Overall great meal and experience. I would get the exact same meal again as long as duck stays on the menu. Do yourself a favor and try it for a different experience! You won't be sorry!

Yelp
My cousins and I decided to catch a bite and some celebratory cocktails after our 5k run. Service was great. Such a great vibe to relax and unwind after a run. I had the avocado toast. A great concept and presentation but would have liked the bread to have been toasted and to have more avocado. It was very herbed forward than avocado. I only saw a few slices. It's kind of messy to eat so I ate everything but the bread. Overall a great location, nice ambience and vibes for any occasion. I usually go for cocktails and their monkey bread whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
I have been to Steelbach for lunch but have never been for dinner. Had no idea what I was missing. As always the staff was welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere has a bit of rustic elegance to it. We ordered the starters buffalo cauliflower which was amazing! We also ordered a wedge salad but a Caesar salad accidentally came out instead this Caesar was different with a blue cheese Caesar dressing. Our waiter offered to change it but we said we would give it a shot. Although I don't care for blue cheese this dressing was very good and we all enjoyed it. We ordered our main dishes. Delmonico, Coulotte, NY strip, and a Bone in Pork Chop. All were cooked to perfection. As sides we had the mac and cheese which was fabulous and the asparagus which was so good. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly Out drinks were mixed perfectly. This restaurant is on the higher price range. Your bill adds up quickly when ordering your main and sides separately ... plus starters. Just know going in your bill is going to be a whopper. As far as dress is concerned people were dressed all differently from casual to really dressy ... ( I don't believe I saw people in shorts) . Also Expect to Pay for parking. ( Parking cost us $20)

Yelp
Fantastic food, service, and ambiance! Thoroughly enjoyed my date night on Valentines weekend here. It was pretty busy, but our waiter was fantastic and extremely attentive. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside, a mix of industrial and cozey vibes. Definitely a good mood for a date night without being too stuffy. There was an event happening at Armature Works so parking was a bit difficult... something to be mindful of! Food: As an appetizer we ordered the buffalo cauliflower with the buffalo sauce on the side. It was beautifully presented with shreds of celery and carrot all on a bed of blue cheese. We enjoyed it and it's a dish that would be good for the table! For entrees we chose off the wood-fired menu and got the Colorado Lamb Chops and NY strip. They were out of the bone-in NY strip which brings about 3oz more meat. These were both perfectly cooked and loved how they were served with two types of salt on the side. For the sides- the mac and cheese was perfection. From the gruyere cheese to the panko breadcrumbs it was so good! The brussel sprouts were good too but nothing to rave about. Drink: I enjoyed the prosecco and the boyf got some local craft beer. The cocktail menu is impressive. Be sure to read the different alcohol related quotes in each section. A fun touch!

Yelp
Nice location and attentive service. They offer a pre fix business lunch but we opted for other items on the menu which is a little limited at lunchtime. I went for the salmon at the server's recommendation and was glad I did. The salmon was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The green goddess dressing added to the flavors, it was a tad sour being yogurt and I didn't pick up much of the other spices in it. The farro had a nice blend of vegetables in it and it made the meal balanced. We would love to come by again when in town.

Yelp
Wr met some out of town friends for dinner at SB, I always like showing off Armature Works. Our rez was for outside, but it was a bit chilly so we asked to switch to inside and it was no problem. We started with the cauliflower which was a large portion and so good! We all ordered steaks + mushrooms and brussel sprouts. The steak was a little too salty, but the wine was flowing, hence only 1 pic and our server was amazing.

Yelp
I have been here for Brunch and dinner many times with friends & family since my first review. I did have an unpleasant first experience, BUT.....I must say every experience eating here afterwards has been amazing. I especially love going here for Sunday brunch! The servers are all pleasant, the hostess are all pleasant and the service is always on point. Also, we've never felt rushed while eating here. I recently had brunch here and it was delicious once again! To start with we ordered their Monkey Bread which is always a favorite of ours. For breakfast I ordered The Southern Breakfast and my husband had what's called The Everything Roll. They are described as the following: MONKEY BREAD pull-apart bread, salted caramel, toasted pecans, browned butter SOUTHERN BREAKFAST two eggs, bacon, fried green tomato & fixins', biscuit n' red-eye gravy add breakfast sausage or beef bacon EVERYTHING ROLL everything hoagie, thin-sliced prime rib, horseradish cream, gruyère, stone ground mustard, gravy, breakfast potatoes We have tried many different things on their menu and all have been delicious for both brunch and dinner. Something that I like is they change the pancakes every week and they change the pastries every week. Steelbach has actually become a favorite restaurant of mine! The restaurant is modern and located at Armature Works. They also have a lovely outdoor seating area. I definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Yelp
We had SUCH a good time at the 80's brunch. The food was a flex, and the service was very good! We love that they celebrated the menu by having chef type explanations. Very chic! I'm not complaining but all that food and drinks would be SOOO much better in the AC. We were melting outside! We had the largest table there and we showed out in our crazy 80's! Brought our boat over and we sure got the looks! Can't wait to see the pics! We would LOVE to do this again, but the consensus says 'Not if it is outside' Thank you for an awesome event!

Yelp
Geeez how does this place NOT score five stars??!!!! Everything and I mean everything about this place just ooze's a vintage industrial coolness with an edge of sophistication. The moment you walk in you're greeted by a large bar, the kitchen is buzzing, and you feel a chill vibe in the air. We opted to sit out in the patio for brunch and the experience was amazing. Firstly, the Bloody Mary is organically great - no pre mix here folks. The Avocado toast app is chock full of delish veggies that combine into a perfect mouthwatering flavor. But! But....the Hangover Burger!! Aye Yay Yay Batman. "Is it on the top five of my great hamburger list" you ask? Yes, it's definitely in the conversation. The grass fed bovine meat is superb. Combined with everything that comes with it and you have yourself a top contender in Americas Best Burgers - 100%. Will definitely e back for dinner. See you soon Steelbach - til then keep doing your thing.

Yelp
I should have added photos but that would have been deceptive. The presentation was great, but here are the facts about the food. Broccoli came out almost cold. The server said the filet mignon would cut with a butter knife and tender, no way, it was tough with stringy elements to the filet. not good Caesar salad had a gallon of dressing on it, literally drenched. Others at the table of 6 had issues also with their food. The worst and I mean the worst part of it was the booth, yes the booth. It was so tight and not movable with the table or anything else. You were squashed in the booth. I am 190 and 5'9 and could hardly fit ! My wife is 5'2, 115 and still was complaining about the booth. Go ahead and get a booth and see what I mean. I group of women tried to sit in the booth behind and left to go to the hi top since they could not fit either , so not just our issue. Last but not least the protocol between courses has the server collect all the silverware and I mean knifes forks used or not used and people passing all of this over the table to the server before the main course of dinner, if you had pasta, pass your silverware over, if you have chicken, pass the silverware out of there. Very inconvenient and wrecked any mood of an elegant dinner to me and my group. The drill sergeant server, kept coming back after 5 min. and asked ready to order ? ready to order ?and no one was even in the restaurant much. Even after only being there 8 minutes. after 3 or so times we caved in and said OK we will order now. Just everything was a disappointment. I do not blame the server 100% she is instructed with the timing and protocol I blame the manager of this place. We even complained to her the manager about the cold food and she said sorry and moved on to say have a good night ! Maybe give us a tiny discount when our bill was $700 for 6 people ? I mean geez, Never go to this place too many issues from start to finish.

Yelp
My husband and I went for a walk on the Riverwalk and ended up at Armature Works. After looking at the many food offerings there, we decided on Steelbach- had never eaten lunch there. We were seated immediately, at a nice table inside. (they have outside, inside and bar seating) A server immediately came over and poured our water, then we were greeted shortly after that by another server who took our order. He was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. My husband and I were both very happy with our choices. The wedge salad was delicious- I am not a blue cheese fan so they held the blue cheese dressing and crumbles. I chose ranch and green goddess dressings on the side which were both really good. The amount of bacon on the salad was incredible- so if you are a fan of bacon, you will love that! There were also a decent number of grilled shrimp- so good! My husband loved his Steak Sammie- it's served on a pretzel bun, and has a smoked cheddar cheese sauce. It was served with fries, and they were cooked to the perfect crispiness, so of course I had to share some of those. This is a great lunch spot whether you choose to sit indoors or outdoors. I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Our go to date night spot! Whether you are sitting at the bar or at a table everyone is great. The food is so tasty! Place gets packed and can be loud but it comes in waves. Just love this place!

Yelp
Very attentive and friendly staff. Yummy food which came out fast. The mac and cheese is a must try!!!

Yelp
Food was amazing!! We came here for our anniversary and it was perfect. The ribeye and pork chop were perfectly cooked. The pork chop was juicy and flavorful. The bone marrow mashed potatoes were definitely the favorite side but the potato pave was still delicious with the cheese sauce. Sitting outside wasn't bad because they had plenty of fans and it was beautiful. The service was good as well. The Oreo cheesecake was the best part of the whole meal. It was one of the best dessert I've ever had. I need to go back just to try it again. Overall I loved it and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Dinner for 3. - Ambiance (5*) Industrial chic. Loud but not too loud, at least at our U-shaped booth. Trendy spot- lots of eye candy. - Service (3*) Our waitress was professional, though she seemed disappointed we didn't order wine, and she was pretty demonstrative that we should order steaks (2 of us did, I didn't). Entrees took a pretty long time to come out. - Cornbread, $11 (5*) 3 big pieces of cornbread. When you pick them up, they feel heavy! Clever move to bake the bacon directly into the cornbread. A highlight for sure. - Carpaccio, $17 (5*) Great flavor, good acid. Elevated presentation. - Black Grouper, $48 (3*) Fish was delicate and everything I love about black grouper. But, they charred it a little too much, so the outside was burned in some places. I'm also not sure this is necessarily their fault, but the fish comes out scalding hot! I burned the roof of my mouth eating the first bite- you know that hot pizza on roof of mouth feeling? Ugh. The accompanying parts of the dish were kind of after thoughts. - Brussels, $15 (5*) Perfectly cooked, great flavor. - Mushrooms, $14 (5*) Awesome flavors and a great twist on your normal side of mushrooms. The sauce it came with was itself epic. - Potatoes, $14 (2*) Cool concept and very rustic, but several potatoes were undercooked. - Value (3*) The cornbread while expensive, absolutely felt worth it. The grouper would have felt more reasonable with more care for the accompanying elements. The sides felt a little overpriced. - Final Word Some execution issues, but an overall good experience. Loved the ambiance. Some nice highlights. Would certainly go back.

Yelp
SB's is worth the hype. Been here for lunch, but finally was able to come back for dinner. Got an old fashion, the 12oz ribeye, with a side of Mac & cheese, and the bleu cheese salad to split between two people which was more than plenty. Each bite was mouth watering and packed with flavor. If you are a steak person, don't hold out order it! The char on the ribeye made it this piece of steak stand out and the sprinkled salt on the side... yum! Didn't need any extra condiments to go with it. The Mac and cheese was also very good. Almost tasted like a different version of a fettuccini Alfredo. Each bite was so creamy and the bread crumbs on the top gave it a little crunch. Would recommend to anyone in the area. While the food in armature stations is good, this place elevates the entire experience.

Yelp
Metered parking for three hours on the side of the street was a little over $6, in the future I'll have to compare what it is in the parking lot. The restaurant is beautiful and a great place for a date night or girls night. The table next to us seemed to be conducting some sort of interview (job? sorority?) and my husband and I were there for a date. Our server was fantastic, he made sure my water glass was always full. This is what we got and what I thought. Drinks: Sidecar - this was delicious, it was just the right sweetness level, I'd definitely get it again. Skinny margarita - it was a really good margarita. It is strong. Food: French onion soup - this was delicious. There was a good amount of gruyere cheese and sourdough. The broth was also tasty. It comes out very hot so you have to give it time to cool down. Bone Marrow "Twice Baked" Potato - It's basically mashed potato in a bone marrow bone. It is very good. I would definitely get it again. Brown Butter Mushrooms - this is a must get if you like mushrooms. It was my favorite dish and it is huge. It's very rich though. 16 oz ribeye - we got this to share and I'm glad we did, because it is huge. We asked them to slice it for us. It was cooked perfectly medium rare. It comes with butter and salt on the side, which is good, because I actually found it a little bland alone. This allows you to control your salt level. My husband says he likes Council Oaks and Charleys better, but this place is up there for me. Overall, pricing is a little expensive, but reasonable (I say this after going to NY and seeing their prices.) I like how it's right next to the water, so we were able to take a walk afterwards. It was a great date.

Yelp
Celebrating a birthday party on an early Saturday evening. Atmosphere was dark and incredibly loud and it was very hard to hold a conversation. Presentation of the food looked nice, but flavor fell flat on almost every dish from appetizers to main courses and salads. Incredibly overpriced. Family of four with Two children we had a $400 bill. Senior grandparents bill was $250. Two other couples also had bills ranging from three to $450. Cauliflower appetizer, terrible, and don't get the fried chicken dish so flat and flavor. They asked us if we wanted to take it home which no one even ate more than one piece and we left it. Wait staff was nice. That was a positive.

Yelp
The service from our server Caroline was amazing. We truly enjoyed the entire experience. We decided to split the ribeye which is a full 16oz! They were happy to have us split the steak, and we paired it with the wedge salad, the asparagus, and dessert! The meat was very flavorful, the sides were perfect and the carrot cake was out of this world. We sat outside so it got a little chilly at the end but they brought out heaters.

Yelp
We have visited this location a lot and it still remains one of my favorite restaurants in this area. We love eating out on the outdoor patio for the vibes and fresh air but the indoor seating is nice too. Drinks are great. Food is always great. We prefer sharing a bunch of small plates. The short rib mezze is our favorite. The cornbread is a must.

Yelp
I was not expecting to enjoy this place so much! It was very busy in there so take that into account when planning to dine here, always call ahead. Our server was super friendly, and helpful when making recommendations for the table. I ended up going with the mimosa flight, my friends got an espresso martini (which was delicious!) and a classic mimosa. I do have to say the mimosa flight is such a fun idea but they lost me with the different flavors. We each had an appetizer, I ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower and wow, this was delicious, I get this app at a lot of restaurants and have to say this is one of the best I've ever had. If you get one thing from here just get that and you'll understand. We also had the egg rolls which were super tasty. I definitely will be coming back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Everything we ordered was good. Glance at the pics. The mac n cheese with gruyere was delicious as well as the potato pave with that cheese/alfredo tasting sauce poured over... The steak was cooked medium as we had asked so we were satisfied.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to when I have friends and family visiting! Food has always been great, never a disappointment! It's a great location lots to do and see before eating. Highly recommend the Pork belly Benedict and the steak and eggs. But everything is delicious!

Yelp
Nice Ambience, goofy but good service, and amazing food. I got the steak and egg and my buddy got the pork belly Benedict. It was filling but nothing crazy. Would go again on a date with my fiance

Yelp
Went for a friend's birthday dinner on a Thursday night. I had the scallop and minestrone soup entree, with a caesar salad for the table to share. Caesar salad tasted like nothing and extremely watery, so I sent it back. Scallops were amazing and so was my espresso martini! A bit pricey and the Service was awful. Very slow and wasn't even busy. He was nice though. Inside was cute date vibes and dimly lit. Might give this place another try in the future someday

Yelp
Omg Amazing! Our server Brandon was so nice and super friendly! The food was spectacular and the portions were very generous for the price. I would totally recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the Armature. The area is so nice and we had a great day! And Brandon made it a little more special with a slice of cheesecake

Yelp
I have a policy of leaving a one star review for any restaurant that has a "service fee" that isn't clearly disclosed prior to ordering. Too bad, because the food is good here, but I won't return on principle.

Yelp
The ambiance is warm and inviting, with its industrial-chic decor and a cozy yet lively vibe that's perfect for brunch or dinner. For my main course, I went with the Steak and Eggs, and it was phenomenal. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, paired with perfectly seasoned eggs and crispy potatoes that rounded out the dish beautifully. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality, and the preparation shows real attention to detail. I ended up ordering a mimosa flight, but unfortunately, the drinks tasted very watered-down.

Yelp
Had such a great experience at lunch we came back for dinner. Spectacular! Everything was delicious and services was exceptional! Always a wonderful ambiance, great tunes in the background and creatively decorated. The steak was so delicious! It was a delight in many ways. One the beef is from Florida my home state and how delicious it was. All the side dishes were so tasty and crafted perfection. The balance of flavors and presentation was amazing. One My favorite please to eat in Tampa. Must must stop by and try for lunch or dinner!

Yelp
We decided to spend Labor Day weekend at downtown, Tampa armature works area. First, we took the tiki hut boat tour then we went to Steelbach for dinner. The service there is fantastic. The hubby and I had the black grouper and sausage board for dinner. They were both excellent. The noise was not too loud, it was very comfortable. They also have boost if you like.

Yelp
*Brunch* We had a large group so I got to take bites a lot of things: Chicken Club Sandwich: 8/10 - the vinaigrette they put on this gives the sandwich just enough flavor and moisture. The bacon, avocado, and bbq chicken all work really well together - I'd definitely order again. Plus it's a large meal and fairly priced! If you come hungry, order this! Steak Sammie: 7/10 - the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and was served on a tasty pretzel roll. It's came with a tomato relish, which I put on the side, as well as dijonnaise - I'm happy I asked for both of these things on the side because they were both bitter and acidic. This may just be personal preference but I did not think the flavors jived well at all - I would take both of those off and offer it without those sauces and some type of bourbon bbq sauce or tangy mustard on the side considering this is a southern inspired joint Brûlée Nutella French Toast: 9/10 - I could only take one bite of this, it's extremely rich and chocolatey! I can't imagine someone eating the entire thing and going about the rest of their day without a nap or 7! But for it is, a rich, ultra sweet, chocolatey indulgence - they hit the nail of the head! Definitely worth a bite (but man this thing is RICH so be prepared) Monkey Bread: 8/10 *look at the picture* - yep it's exactly what you'd think it tastes like. Soft and spongy little dough bites that have a toasted exterior, smothered in a buttery caramel pecan sauce - nuff said Biscuits: 6/10 - the texture and size of the biscuit was great! It was soft and not dry, but it lacked any flavor. There was just no salt or anything! Disappointing because it really ticked a lot of boxes - hopefully they fix that. It's an easy touchup Pork Belly Benedict: 7/10 the pork belly had a great flavor and texture, but the biscuits once again had 0 taste, just a mushy cloud of nothing and that's a large portion of this dish - make the biscuits better and the dish would be a killer Lobster: 4/10 - don't order seafood here. The lobster was a flimsy little flavorless tail and my friend got the oysters and they were tiny! I had no idea they could be that small lol - he disliked them as well. Lastly, our waiter was very accommodating and did well - food came out quickly and it'd be a pleasure to have him as a waiter again for sure.

Yelp
Came for brunch on a Saturday with 6 other people. I like that they sat me as the first guest without needing the whole group present. Monkey bread 10/10- so good and so addicting. Wouldn't think to have such a sweet item as an app but happy it doubled as dessert. Pork belly Benedict 8/10- I usually dont care much for pork belly but this was pretty good and the pimento cheese was the best part of this. Mimosa flight 7/10- Nice concept cause you get 4 different flavors of mimosas. Decent portions of each glass but not enough champagne in my opinion, barely got a buzz after finishing everything. Also wish they labeled which was which like they do at most places that serve flights. Oreo cheesecake 9/10- not your normal oreo cheesecake. it had toffee, peanuts, and dulce de leche as well. Bummer if you have a peanut allergy though. Service was great- Justin our waiter was super friendly and good at giving us his recs. The vibe is a 10/10 too, I like the industrial look of this place. The seats are comfortable and the tables provided enough space for everything. Parking is kind of annoying however, I had to pay $10 to park in the lot and don't think they validate. And they dont have their own restroom, you gotta go to the main hall of Armature Works. Return? maybe. I'd try different entrees and cocktails though. Recommend? yes, nice to have a more private, sit down meal compared to everything else at AW.

Yelp
Will return for the window alcove that looks out to the outdoor section. High ceiling, exposed pipes; love the ambiance and decor, especially the brick walls and unique lighting features. Very good service, decent food, great wine. What not to love? Out booth has a handsome door that sets against the brick wall. It's pretty poetic -:). But it's also next to the bar. When we first sat down, shortly before 6pm, the restaurant isn't too busy. The this little area is the commingle place for the staff, who chat, and are affable toward each other, like back slapping. Pls just be mindful, that we're inches away and seated, which means short distance with our eyes meeting their lower back ... The wine is awesome. They've two wine menus: Captain's List with hard leather binding runs to 4 digit; and soft leather binding, which is for people like us, from the other side of track -:) We ended up with La Jassine, Côtes-du-Phône Village, 2021: it's yummy. Foods, we've - buffalo cauliflower: good but wish they cut down the size (the Chinese way ha ha ha) so the sauce covers more. It's not mushy or soft, which is good. - crispy potato: good, the bacon bits are excellent, of high grade. - NY sirloin: good, very lean, hard to cut (bad arms/shoulders from pickleball ...) - flat iron steak: pre-cut, good, very lean - scallop: good. I also enjoyed the bed of veggies, even they're bit too sweet for my taste, but it's veggie sweet, so I ate a lot - be healthy for once. - brown mutter mushrooms: my fave. I was too slow to scope up some before it was mixing with the sauce - starch (?) or mashed potato (?) I'm a believer that fresh ingredients shouldn't need much of sauce, especially creamy ones: let them shine on their own. Cooked mushroom produces juice, maybe put them on a bed of shredded lettuce (?) ... Stop here Irene, you're NOT the chef! Their beef is grass fed, which is leaner than usual. Both steaks came with butter in the ramekins. It's definitely a personal choice. For me and my two companions, we prefer the fatty marbled steaks, even they claim theirs are marble too: "We partner with local producers to raise Steelbach's grass-fed, pasture plus-nished beef. Our steaks have excellent marbling and premium flavor and are cooked over 1000-degree oak and mesquite open fire grills...." WebMd wrote .. : "No studies have proven that grass-fed beef is better for your health." I googled 'grass fed cow government', got the following ~ USDA grass fed: This program requires that ruminant animals be fed only grass and forage, with the exception of milk consumed prior to weaning. Animals certified under this program cannot be fed grain or grain by-products and must have continuous access to pasture during the growing season. ~ NIH: Grass-fed vs. grain-fed beef systems: Although many consumers perceive grass-fed beef as more environmentally friendly than grain-fed beef, there is a dearth of research available to address these consumer claims. ... Consider environmental footprint (water, land, greenhouse gasses, and energy) - conventional beef finished on grain for 128 d: produced the lowest greenhouse gas footprint but required the highest energy input - steers grass-fed for 20 mo: used the least amount of water but produced the greatest greenhouse gas. ~ American Grassfed.org ~ Penn State.edu ~food insight ... afterward, we walked to the Straz center, for A SUPER thrilling concert!

Yelp
This was THE WORST dining experience I think I've ever had. Our party of 6 put in a reservation 45 minutes before showing up. I understand that's still semi short notice but when we walked in there were many open tables and the 3 college age girl hostess were standing around gossiping with each other instead of clearly reviewing reservations... On top of that a party of 4 and then 5 came in behind us and they all sat ahead of us but they couldn't figure out 6 so before even being seated we waited 20 min. Finally when we sit, we don't get even asked about drinks for another 20 min. THEN we decide to ask the person who sat us where our waiter is, and I see him pull a random waiter to the side and ask him to take our drink order because no one's come over and he just keeps filling our waters. That waiter pretends to take our drink order and then disappears for another 10-15 min and we never receive our drinks. My husband finally decides to pull over the man who is wear a suit to ask what's going on because we've now not had anyone check on us, no one ask us drinks, and we've been waiting over a half hour. He tells us he'll get us someone and walks away. A different waiter finally comes over and we mention our drinks that have maybe been put in and just ask to put food in because at this point we're just ready to go. I know it's not his fault for the issues but it just continues to get worse. At this point the drinks arrive and the waiter mentions he's going to push our order to the front. We get our food and it was just OK, definitely not worth all the time and effort I took to get here. I ordered the Nashville Not so hot chicken sandwich, it was fine. Our friend ordered the avocado toast. Let's just say don't do it... it seemed like an uncooked piece of THICK French toast that wasn't toasted with so many different ingredients plopped on top you couldn't even pick it up. She ended up asking for it to be taken off the bill. Honestly, just save yourself and eat at one of the booths in the main hallway. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

Yelp
Ooooof -- I don't get this restaurant unfortunately. We dined here on New Year's Eve and left incredibly disappointed. The drinks were just fine, not worth the money at all and very weak. We ordered the ribeye which was $56 and it was also soooo mediocre. I definitely could have made that at home. The real kicker was the $17 "twice baked potato" that supposedly had bone marrow in it. In actuality, it was about a tablespoon of mashed potatoes tucked into an empty bone. I think they honestly used the leftover bones from their bone marrow aioli; I don't think there was any bone marrow in our potatoes. The avocado and fennel salad was literally just slices of avocado. It was supposed to have quinoa in it as well. Was the quinoa in the room with us? Everything else was so mediocre that I don't remember what it even was. Also, our food took 1.5 hours to get to us. Our server barely talked to us. The manager came out to apologize for the wait and was very kind but offered us nothing to compensate -- just 5 minutes of conversation to distract us from our hunger. The only reason I didn't give it one star was because the restaurant itself is gorgeous and the food was at least cooked. But please, in this economy, save yourself the money and pass on this one.

Yelp
Steelbach never ceases to be fantastic. They still have the best kept secret brunch that's reasonable with high quality food. The pancakes of the week are always innovative. The BELT sandwich is fantastic. Prices remain reasonable (even with a couple dollars of increases over the past three years). Service is fantastic (typically) even though today we had to wait a bit longer than expected to get the initial welcome and drink order in from the server, they were always aware the rest of the service though. The outside dining typically has portable AC, Fans, and a pergola to make things even comfortable in mid summer and indoors is classy but not stuffy.

Yelp
Pros: Drinks are well executed and service is by far one of the most consistent in the area. Cons: Food is so inconsistent here and there really is no reason on why we waited 45 minutes for an appetizer that came out cold and steaks that came out even colder but yet looked cooked on the outside. Management is probably one of the worst and most confusing I've seen and interacted with in this area. I'd like to give this place another try with my family but perhaps if we don't encounter this managed in the future.

Yelp
Let me start by stating our server, Ty was good. We started with 2 vodka martinis, slightly dirty. The arrived very dirty. We should have sent them back but it probably was a good thing as we nursed them throughout the course of our meal. We started off with a simple wedge which we split. The iceberg lettuce was soaked in water which may have been intentional as the dressing, which fortunately we had requested on the side, was bland and thicker than any Drywall paste we've ever seen. You could stand your spoon in it and it didn't move. We split the 20 ounce ribeye, cooked medium rare. While the steak was cooked correctly, it came out at room temperature. There was too much fat and gristle that was not trimmed off the steak. The meat was not of the highest quality. For a restaurant that offers a selection of seven different kinds of steak, you think that this would be their sweet spot. We ordered the peppercorn sauce on the side. It two came out at room temperature and clearly came out of a can. It tasted more like a champagne sauce than a peppercorn sauce ( for an additional $10). We did send the sauce back in my date selected Bernaise sauce instead. It was cool to the touch and had no flavor. We politely pointed it out to tie our server and he took it off our bill. It had been a couple of years since we've been to Steelbach. We'd like to support local restaurants and we live right around the corner. However, in good conscience, I would not recommend this restaurant.
