This is like a dive bar but one you can go into with a suite on and feel like you're not out of place. Food is great, and drink specials are awesome. It's a pretty small spot and can get crowded during peak hours.

Great Place to have a good and fresh Burger. Relaxed atmosphere and very nice service!

Interesting local loop bar, but the kitchen is only open through happy hour, which ends promptly at 6pm. Service was very abrupt - not exactly fast, just a little bit of a rude vibe from the staff. And there is an automatic 20% gratuity for parties of 5 or more. Biggest downside is how loud it is there in such a small space.

I go past this place on my way to work and I’ve always wanted to try it. So I finally went in and picked up a preorder. The burger was great, but the bun was soggy. The burger had no mustard or ketchup on it and I had to use the ranch dressing that came with my salad. The salad was just ok. I would go here again .

I think it's a good authentic cozy place, quite cheap, quite noisy, quite crowdy. But the menu here on Google maps is outdated, check photos attached. I would say that it's very good but I have to mention about my experience. Their Turkey burger was good but quite cold, a waitress was not very friendly, maybe because I'm not very well in English and didn't know exactly what I want and didn't understand some phrases as well. There is no free wifi here. Well, maybe it's not so necessary, but wanted to work on my notebook, and I had to use my mobile hotspot. But I definitely like the place, especially my table near the window and quite affordable and delicious food, a perfect location near the cta station, river, downtown, etc. Visit the place of you're in Chicago.

Walked in and they said if you want food you need to go elsewhere. We stopped serving at 6! Sent us to Monks !! Stop serving at 6 on a busy week night ??

Food was delicious! Salad was huge. Chicken tender basket was huge. Chicken quesadilla was excellent. Service was spot on. We will definitely come back.

What a great find! This is so close to the metro and you can tell that this is a total commuter bar. Most people that were sitting around were very conscientious of making the next train! Very low key and chill place!

For long time Chicago people this place is great. Location is legendary, under the El at Washington and Wells. No music or tv blasting, just people happy to be out of the office. A ton of beers on tap or bottle. I always try something I've never had before. Servers are usually friendly and efficient, even during the after work rush. It's actually gotten better over time, more selection, better service. It's great to have an after work spot like this. Glad to see they are still going strong despite the smaller crowds in the Loop after COVID. Plenty of other places in Chicago offer views and fancier prices, but I'm really glad there's a dive like this still thriving. Everyone there seems happy to be there and it makes me happy too.

Tiny pub room with lots of tap to offer. In today's visit at 5-ish, the place was buzzing with white collar folks taking in the happy hour. Kitchen was closed, open 11am-3pm only.

Regular bar experience, nothing special here. I should be rating it lower because I ended up leaving after 15 minutes around lunch, staff was busy. I get it. Keep your expectations low and you might probably enjoy this for a quick drink if you enjoy the dive bar experience

This place is crowded and it's not exactly easy to order food (beers are listed in small text on monitors all around), but this is an affordable place to grab a drink or watch a game in the loop. When it's full, it gets quite loud which is good if you want the energy of the crowd while watching your favorite team -- but on the other hand it can be quite challenging to carry on a conversation. Service is alright, not the quickest, but reasonably fast in getting orders. Prices are fair, especially if you're ordering daily specials. For food, I tried the steak quesadilla which was very large and filled with meat for $11. The flavor wasn't the greatest, but the value was good for a bar in the loop. Overall, not a bad place to go after work for a drink or to watch a game, but this is no better than a standard dive bar.

Went for lunch here before a matinee Broadway show. My husband said it was a dive bar and it certainly is. They could at least duct tape the splitting vinyl on the stools. The waitress's nails were too long to be serving food. My sandwich was burnt but it took so long to get I wasn't going to ask for a replacement - we had a show to get to. I tore off the burnt bottom and ate my beef sandwich with just the top of the bun. Waitress saw it and didn't say a word. Drink specials seemed good. If I ever go back, and at this time I certainly don't plan to, it will be for drinks only.

When I worked nearby, I would go here for a drink on Fridays. It fills up FAST during lunchtime during the weekdays so if you plan to get lunch get here early to grab a seat or get take out. They usually have some good beers on draft. It's not your basic selection of miller lite or budweiser. They also switch out what's on draft pretty frequently. It's great for people who want to try new things. I tried the 21st Amendment Hell Or High Watermelon and fell in love. I could really taste the watermelon. Since then I have bought the canned version of this, but it's best on draft. I have also tried various ciders that were good. They also have a $4 draft special every day of the week and a food special which is super nice. It's best to check their website. I think that their fried food fries a little too long, but the burgers and sandwiches are good. This place is also more of a bar to chill after work at so the food isn't the best, but I love the deals. It's got a neighborhood bar kind of feel tucked into The Loop.

Really cool bar and nice, relaxing vibe, but they were doing last call at 7pm with like twenty or so people still inside. Kinda confusing but oh well, maybe they close early on Mondays. It seems like it'd be a great place to watch a game of some sort.

Coworker recommended their wings, so I decided to give it a try especially they seem to give you a $5 off bill after you check-in on Yelp. I ordered the Spicy Pineapple flavor as I thought it's gonna be sweet, sour, and spicy. The wings are good - big with crispy skins and aren't dry. A little downside would be the sauce... It will be perfect if the pineapple taste can be stronger. I can smell the pineapple when I open the to-go box, and can see small chunks of pineapples, but can't really taste any. Also, the $5 off deal only applies to dine-in customers; such exclusion isn't listed :( and they charge 50 cents for to-go orders.

Place is quintessential Chicago bar. Lots of TVs but not a "Sports Bar". Great place to spend and afternoon. Good is really good pub fare. Great selection of draft beers.

Is this place still open? We've tried twice in the last week to come after work, during posted business hours and the place was locked up tight. No one answers the phone. Im worried it's closed for good. Maybe they've adjusted hours, but there should be a sign.

Stocks and Blondes is a total dive bar with an awesome draft list set under the El. Seriously impressive draft list ranging from local gems to national craft favorites and rarities. The menu looked like solid bar food but we didn't try it. Our bartender was friendly. Don't forget to use your Yelp check-in offer. They also have various specials. It's all about the beer, baby!

Killer food and it was super filling! Great options for burgers and a wide selection of beers. The place isn't the cleanest or up to date, but not something surprising for a busy bar. Came here for a quick beer and food and was not disappointed! Fast service as well. Friendly and laid back vibe. Would recommend for something casual and a big appetite!

Review is for post work drinks only. The bad part of the loop is that there are not many great restaurants or bars and unfortunately Stocks and Blondes fits that bill. Stocks and Blondes is a local dive/sports bar and is known as a go-to staple for happy hour. It's a very small and very loud as this place can get quite busy after work and during lunch. They have a good craft beer selection and good beer specials.  The service was non-existent as my coworker and I sat down at a table for a drink and we were completely ignored by the waitress. She definitely saw us come in and we made eye contact to get her attention. But she ended up serving the table of 3 right next to us, who came in after us. I had to go up and get drinks from the bar as she never served us after waiting for about 10 minutes. Plus I wanted to know what bourbon they had as I am a bourbon enthusiast. I ordered a Maker's Mark neat and I swear it was bottom shelf bourbon poured into the Maker's Mark bottle. Not good... If you are looking for a local, loud dive bar with cheap beer in the loop, then Stocks and Blondes is for you. If you are looking for a nicer place with decent service then I would recommend going elsewhere. I'm willing to walk the extra distance to Miller's Pub, Randolph Tavern, Ace Bounce, or the new Flight Club. The best part about Stocks and Blondes is the cheap beer. But since this review is for drinks only and we had to go up to the bar to get our drinks when we had a table. That is just unsatisfactory...

Fun little dive bar that you would miss if you didn't know where to look. Good beer selection and fun crowd. The waitstaff was friendly and the service was quick. The burgers we had were both very tasty but the sweet potatoe fries were missing their usual crispness.

I appreciated their lunch specials and would bring friends here after work often since they had TV with sports on. I regularly had burgers, chicken tenders & chicken tenders and the bar tenders were friendly to all! Oddly enough when I was at Karaoke night at the Happy Rooster in Philly, someone sang Mustang Sally perfectly - when we talked he said his favorite bar in Chgo was Stocks. A coworker saw me rooting for the Red Wings at Stocks and said I didn't know you were from MI - I said I'm not - when the Blackhawks are out, I'm going with the original six!

Popped in late on Sunday for some 9 pm eats. (This area shuts down EARLY as far as food options go!) Nice little dive with wood and brick interior. Some TVs, dart boards. Purse hooks at the bar! Kinda sticky, so the scene must get sloppy sometimes, but it was blissfully laidback when I was there. Enjoyed some tasty pints - there's quite a selection. Told bartender what I was in the mood for & he made a recommendation so good I decided to have two ;) 90s hip hop playing the night I was there...like: great 90s hip hop. I was wiggling and giggling and loving every minute of it. For eats, had the "fire" wings, which the bartender informed me were not hot if I liked spicy food (I do). Perfectly good bar food; I wasn't mad at it...in fact, I'd do it again. Tip: if you're here to eat, check the 'Specials' board to the left of the bar - there were some options there I didn't see on the menu.

Stopped in here while walking from Union Station to our hotel for the weekend. Small neighborhood bar. Couple of regulars at the bar. No frills kinda place. Bartender was also our server. He was not real outgoing but after he warmed up to the 4 of us his dry humor started to show. Very nice guy and we enjoyed his service on this Labor Day weekend. Ordered a couple of burgers, club sandwiches, and beer. Burgers were VERY GOOD. Club sandwich was huge with lots of turkey and bacon. We ordered a Blood of the Unicorn beer and it was okay. A little hoppy on the end but would try it again. If you are looking for dozens of TVs and servers wearing skimpy clothes this is not your place. For good food and witty conversation, stop in.

More like Stocks and Brunettes, not a blonde in sight, nowhere! The servers were prompt, and the beer was plentiful. I would suggest a name change, but I would probably still go back, even if they didn't change it.

I really wanted this place to be great since it's so close to my office and I've heard great things; however, the staff last night was horrible. At one point both bartenders (who were also serving the tables) were on their phones head down while the entire bar stared at them waiting for another drink or in my case trying to close the tab. Once they finally came around to collect our payment we were given a horrible attitude. This place would be great if the staff actually came to work to do their job and not sit on their phone and constantly take smoke breaks right in front of the establishment.

I stoped into Stocks and Blondes while on a business trip because it was by my hotel and was the only kitchen open at 10pm on a weeknight. I walked in and this is a dive bar. I stopped at the bar asked for a menu and grabbed a beer while waiting for my club to be made. The kitchen was quick and the food wasn't much. A beer and club to go was $15. I got back to the hotel and open the box to find fries as well. The club was ok, no dressing or sauce. Overall the bar tender just looked at his phone and didn't really engage at all with any of the patrons.

This place would've gotten a decent rating if it wasn't for their poor customer service. I called to place an order for delivery which I've done in the past and I was told I could only place an order through GrubHub and the guy who picked up the phone immediately hung up. After checking GrubHub, I noticed that my order wasn't listed as an option. I proceeded to call back and I was told there's a packed house and he wouldn't be able to take my order. Seems like a great way to lose someone's business to me!

From out of town and had the pleasure of stumbling in this place. Gina and Drea killed it as the best Bar duo I've ever seen. Ended up getting a last minute burger from Nestor and it felt like it came from his backyard gril. Service 10/5 Food(Nestor) 30/5!!

This was an awesome dive bar with a bunch of cool craft beers. Everything is reasonably priced (~$4-$7 a beer). There were a ton of seats and a lot of TVs that were playing the games so if you want to watch with some friends, then this is the perfect place for you. The service here is also awesome. The server kept coming over to make sure our drinks were full. Don't forget to check in for a deal on yelp!

Good place for drinks right after work. Equal distance between union and Ladakh which is a big plus. Good price on drinks.

Kind of noisy since it is a small place but great service. Also, for being a dive bar I was surprised at what a great salad I had from there.

What an awesome bar to swing in for a bite to eat and some cold draft beers!!! The bartender Matty was incredible. He was super friendly, easy to talk to, and provided incredible service. My wife and I shared a Chicken Quesadilla which was really really tasty - great quality grilled chicken with lots of cheese, and comes with a delicious salsa. We also had an order of french fries. You NEED to try the fries if you come here, they were absolutely out of this world fantastic, seasoned to perfection. Oh, and the ketchup is refrigerated - EXTRA BONUS!Tons and tons of beers on tap so you're guaranteed to find a beer you like. Thank you Stocks and Blondes for the awesome service, delicious food, and ice cold draft beer that went down so smoothly on a hot summer day!

Stopped in for a quick drink while in town for the weekend. We knew this was going to be a dive bar before we walked in but just in case you were still unsure, this is a dive bar. Lost of people, games playing, beer flowing, and servers running around grabbing drinks. I didn't eat here, so I can't speak to the food but the beer was good and the atmosphere was friendly. This was the only bar we could find in the area so it seems to me like they have found their nitche and are working it.

STAFF WAS AWESOME!! Wanting great food for a reasonable price with amazing service? Look no further! The business is in a historic building that survived the Great Chicago Fire so they do not have a sign outside other than what is on their door/windows. We walked past the front door twice before finding the business. Don't let that stop you from coming! Prior to seeing a musical, we stopped in for a bite and drinks. We had amazing servers, the food was freaky fast and quite filling! Feels like a neighborhood bar with friendly staff! Hands down one of the easiest 5 star ratings I've given! Will be coming back next time we are in town for a show!

Wow! A little hidden gem right around the corner from the job. Been passing this place for years and thought it was "just" a bar. Boy was I so wrong! Amazing place to enjoy a burger. Had the Blonde Turkey Burger. Very good. Couldn't finish it. With a side of onion rings, perfectly done. Staff is awesome. I'll be bringing the Work crew back!

Dive bar, unpretentious, craft beer, open on the weekends downtown... WINNER! We came here to kill some time before an event, and were impressed with the craft choices. I think it's a good idea (and more environmentally friendly) that they have their 'on draft' and 'on deck' selections, with a thumbs down stamp applied if its gone or a check mark for new additions. Made it easier to plan and order and not be disappointed! We got to have 2 different kinds of 3 floyds beers on tap (the elusive Zombie Dust and Lazer Snake), and there were lots of other fun choices to look through as well. We ordered chicken tenders and chips and salsa to tide us over... the chips were on the borderline of becoming stale, and the salsa seemed to come out of a jar, plus we weren't given much of it. The tenders though were pretty good! Hot, juicy, and crunchy breading. You get 4 in the serving. We were there around 4pm and there was maybe 15 people in the bar? Two people were working, but then one disappeared and there was just one guy in charge of the bar and the tables, which slowed things down. We were still able to leave in a mostly timely fashion (we did have a deadline which we had to meet!), but just keep an eye on the time if you have plans elsewhere! I would definitely come back!

The service we received was subpar and we tried to use a coupon at the end of the night that was provided to us and the bartender didn't know how to process it. I ended up paying more than I expected to and only ate/drank here because of the coupon. I wouldn't go back!

Pros: Great draft list including Half Acre, 3 Floyds, and Revolution. Stocks and Blondes is a great name, they have several TVs on to watch a sporting event (Go Cubs). Cons: Smallish and tough to get a table on a busy night, and tough to get up to the bar to order a beer. I did not try the food, but looks like there was a Yelp check-in discount offer while I was there.

Best fucking bar in Chicago. Gina, especially, is A1. Amazing waitress. Very smart. Great place.

A friend and I stopped in to Stocks & Blondes for a drink after work and we enjoyed ourselves. Décor: This place is a pretty divey bar but that was just what we were looking for that night. Someplace where you go for a relaxing beer and where no one really cares what anyone else is doing. They had sports on the tv, the music was decent (and not really noticeable) and it just had a nice homey feel to it. I could see why there are so many regulars. The bar is a bit small and there are tables throughout the rest of the area. It's dark, but it isn't terribly under lit, just enough to keep with the dive bar vibe. Bathroom: It's small but it gets the job done and it is clean (given that it's a bar). Staff: The bartenders kept pretty close to "business" but seemed to know the regulars (even what they usually drink, which is solid) but were quick with checking in on us and getting the next round. Drinks: The beers are decently cheap here and that's really all you want at a place like this. They have a pretty large selection of different brews and, of course, have a full bar. If you can't find something you like here then you are WAY too picky. Value: Cheap beers, nuff said. I'm a fan of this place and can definitely see myself returning, and bringing friends, in the future.

I met an old friend @ Stocks and Blondes after work last Friday. We got there fairly early but it was packed. We were lucky to find a table. The space felt cramped and was extremely loud but it was a good time. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed but she was very pleasant and attentive. We didn't have to wait long before she came to the table for our drink order. She also checked on us several times during our visit. I ordered a margarita on the rocks which wasn't that great. Initially I didn't like it at all but after a few sips it wasn't so bad. When it came time to order a second drink I simply told the waitress to bring me something sweet. She said the bartender would make something good and she was true to her word! I don't recall exactly what was in it but I really liked it. The drinks weren't too watered down either. My friend ordered a couple of beers. He works nearby so he'd visited Stocks previously. The crowd was a mix of business professionals, tourists and sports fans in to catch the game. There were a lot of 20 somethings but they weren't being unruly or drunken so it was cool. It was much too crowded for my liking but I still really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was laid back and positive. I'd definitely visit again if given the opportunity.

3 1/2 stars. Came here to watch the second half of MNF and had the tacos and a beer. Tacos exceeded expectations, the service was good and it's a place I'd come back to if it were in my neighborhood. Busy without being packed. I bet it's slammed by 5:30 though.

This place charged my card TWICE!!! The second amount was TOTALLY bogus so I tried to call when the money was taken out (On Saturday October 6, 2018) and was told by "Matt" that there was no way to help me out until Monday October 8 2018. I called Monday (Today) and got a lady named "Kelly". She told me that she would call me back. That was hours ago and the money (Over 100 dollars) is still not back in my account. I find it unconscionable that people care so little about the well being of others, especially people in the hospitality business. I'm an actor and this money was dearly needed in order for me to get to gigs over the holiday weekend. This is completely unfair!!! Drinking at this bar has cost me dearly. UPDATE-10/9/18 So I STILL do not have access to my funds. I cannot buy food, I cannot afford to get around and I have ANOTHER booking today!!! "Kelly" told me that "Mike", the owner, would email me through Yelp. Well he did and he told me that there was nothing the bar could do. He wrote that they were "...at the mercy..." of the credit card processor. This is so far from true. A credit card processor provides a service to an establishment or business and they WANT to keep your business. Many of them DO have 24/7 hotlines that the business can call when they have problems. Moreover, how does this work? If I hit someone with my car then I am not only responsible for the immediate damage but I can also be held responsible for any loss in wages they suffer as a result of MY actions. Why is a business held to s different standard? Why aren't they doing everything possible to help me RIGHT NOW??? They won't even make a phone call to tell me what they've been doing. UPDATE: 10/9/18 So Mike responded via yelp messages. He is saying again that they did nothing wrong at the restaurant. I called my bank and they looked at BOTH holds that came from the merchant account held by STOCKS AND BLONDES. According to my bank, I will not have access to my funds until the day after tomorrow. This is ALL because: 1) A staff member at Stocks and Blondes made a mistake and put a hold of $113.00 on my card. 2) The owner has no reasonable procedures in place in order to rectify such mistakes. I have tried to get him to call me or speak with me. It really strikes me as the kind of place where these guys have a good laugh about some nobody like me "whining" about having a bad time. The owner wrote that he was "...sorry..." that things were going badly for me. It was as if I lost a cap in his bathroom or something. His employee made a mistake and... I am not whining, this bar made mistakes (I hope they were mistakes.) that severely harmed me and have damaged my life. I do not understand how a bar in downtown Chicago can be allowed to behave in this way. I pray that none of the people who work there ever have people treat them with such wanton disrespect. I have posted here and on the BBB. I called City Hall to see about making a complaint and a nice lady gave me a number to the city's office of Business Affairs And Consumer Protection. I didn't want to take it this far but I can't stand by and allow myself to be mistreated like this.

This review is for after work and late late late night drinking only. Coming here after work is kind of a loud clusterfrack, bumping elbows with blueshirts and their honies with monies in their eyes. Trust me, Late Night is where Stocks & Blondes hits its stride! I seriously was going to veto my friend's suggestion of S&B's, but I was so pleasantly surprised by their good beer list, great service, and interesting crowd; I might suggest it myself, in the future! They've got a really good beer list of your Half Acres, your Bells, and a few beers I've never heard of. The waitresses will never let your glass go empty, but they aren't pushy either! The crowd gets super interesting late at night too. And maybe it's just the amount of alcohol everyone's had by then, but this place is fun and entertaining. Men's Bathroom is a one-horse, throne-only operation. That must be addressed! Otherwise, Stocks & Blondes is A-OK!

If you're looking for a nice bar... keep walking. If you're looking for a place to unwind after work then you've found your place. Take off your tie, throw your cardigan in your purse and saddle up to the bar or a table and grab one of their many beers, strong drinks, or shots. They have a pretty impressive beer list and a ton of tvs for the small space. Good to catch a game, forget about that shitty work week or just get drunk without any judgy looks. Don't come here hoping it's anything but a dive... you'll be disappointed.

came here for the sweet potato fries but they were disappointing. The potatoes were not at their prime (not sweet) and they were very greasy. I was so not impressed and wouldn't order them again. However, the onion rings were awesome! Small smoky place, probably wouldn't come here again.

When I first heard the name of this place I automatically had thoughts of hot blondes serving me drinks, but as I entered I noticed there weren't any hot blondes serving anything! The place isn't all that bad. You have to deal with elbow to elbow seating and the usual obnoxious next table neighbor shouting his conversation all over your table because they think the people surrounding them can't hear them. If you get there anytime after 4PM you can damn near forget about a seat. They usually have specials with the food and the food is really great here. Drinks are good and fairly priced, but the service is hit or miss. I have sat at the bar and always recieved excellent service, but when I get a table, sometimes service is a little shabby. I recommend this place for those that work near the financial district and are looking for that happy hour fix, but good luck finding an available table

This smoky and dimly lit bar draws a group of traders and other Loop workers, as its wry name seems to indicate. The food menu is not bad, as I have tried buffalo chicken fingers and a turkey wrap here. The portions are fairly generous, and they all seem to go well with a cold one. The no-frills atmosphere somehow packs 'em in, so it can be crowded after work. It's very close to the Washington "L" stop in the Loop, so it's easy to stumble there if the Brown/Orange/Purple/Pink Line is your ticket home.

It's a minor step up from a dive bar which is fine as long as you know going in. Atmosphere isn't much but good beer list and an excellent turkey burger. Order at the bar. Lots of TVs which was the point of being there :)

Okkkkk... if you are looking for a good place. Don't go there... The service it's no good, the food it's just simple (you can do it better at home for sure). And no good education round there (no hi, no welcome, no nothing). You guys have a really good place and location, you can do it better. I'll hope you do...

Worst experience I have ever had. On vacation for my birthday and stopped here for a quick bite and a drink. The bartender was incredibly rude from the very beginning. Food took forever and came out with the appetizer and none of it was hot. Cherry on top was that the incompetent bartender gave my debit card away to the wrong customer!!! Now I'm stranded 900 miles away from home with no money.

Cozy bar/pub. Great atmosphere. Food is just ok. Service is great. Love the laid back feel.
