Yelp
Story Hill BKC is a high end Midwestern restaurant with modern twists. I have heard many positive reviews and finally tried it.
For the price, for the options it was slightly below a 3/5. The location is right off the high way. They are always full for brunch. Make an advanced reservation.
They have 3 different menus throughout the day. I wonder if they have too many total items. Our staff member, Kat, was very positive, gave us a pitcher of water right away, and explained the menu well. Next to us, the table wasn't explained the menu, causing confusion (not Kat's table). They were, as I overheard, "lost". The dinner menu is ornately inflated with categories of "Taste," "Share," "Pass," and "Bindings." On the website. and as our server explained it's basically small, medium, large, and sides. There's about 18 options but many were a little odd or have red meat in it. There wasn't enough small ones I wanted even though they want to be family style, so I just got a large one. It's also hard to know the items they are. Now I see they do have helpful pictures of their food on their website. For example the meatball chicken is two average size meatballs.
Roast Caulifower Salad was very good. The "dressing" was also great. This medium size app was worth the ~$12. The website prices are incorrect and lower than actual.
The Beef short rib gnocchi was lukewarm at best, the meat was okay but needed more sauce. The gnocchi needed more gravy and tasted closed to a potato than anything else. ~$36
The Butter Chicken Thighs was solid, good. The rice was a bit dry. The rice and chicken wasn't hot. The naan was very hot. I wonder if I could make a slightly worse version of this with a premade sauce. You will probably have leftovers. But it was $34.
They also have a lot of wine and beer you can buy. Oddly these aren't all on the menu. I bought a make your own 4 pack of unique beers after. I would have paid more for one during dinner.
