"This October, Storyhouse Spirits will join You & Yours Distilling Co. and Old Harbor Distilling Co. in the East Village. The 7,600-square-foot historic building, located at the corner of J Street and Park, has been reimagined by Blalock & Partners Architectural Design Studio as an 'industrial chic' space that will span a distillery and production facility, a tasting room and bar that opens onto a sidewalk patio, and a mezzanine lounge perched above the distillery floor that will also offer views of the skyline and waterfront." - Candice Woo

Absolutely love Storyhouse! The service, food and drinks are always delicious. We just checked out their new brunch and everything was so tasty, especially the chicken and waffles.

Google
Great place for food and a cocktail. The bourbon and rye were so good that we purchased a bottle of each. The food was delicious and the service from Dave was great. We had a list of distilleries we wanted to visit on our short trip to San Diego, but Storyhouse Spirits was at the top of our list and ended up being the only one we visited. So glad we stopped here.

This is one of my favorite local spots in East Village. The drinks are really some of the best, the highlight being their espresso martini. Food is always fresh and delicious. Although they have a small menu, it’s diverse enough that most people can find something to eat (I also would rather have a smaller menu with higher quality food). Great happy hour and a wonderful staff. Dogs are always welcome too, which I love!

Came on a Sat at 8pm, not busy at all. Very cool vibes, open wall concept, trendy inside. Food wise, the carnitas animal fries and onion rings were not exactly something I would get again. The serving was huge, so share it with more than 2 people. The fries were the thick and not crispy at all. Taste wise it was good. The onion rings did not look like they had been advertised so just be wary. Maybe we just got a bad batch of the breading. The upside, the bartender was great! The Story house Tequila drink was really good, pineapple infused. So I'll come again for drinks and try the other food!

Definitely will be the newest neighborhood East Village bar/distillery/restaurant! Two stories of absolute amazingness! The owners, staff, atmosphere could not be friendlier more welcoming and incredible. They distill their own whiskey, vodka and gin which tastes so good/delicious! Everything we have tried on the menu could not be fresher and better and the cocktail menu is amazing. Even the merchandise is a must wear! Thank you Storyhouse for coming back to East Village, we missed you and you opened better than ever! This place is a must must visit, whether you live in the neighborhood, county or just visiting for a few days. You will not be disappointed! “Everyone has a story to tell!”

Google
Great place, great vibes, and awesome staff. This was my first time at Storyhouse Spirits and it's small intimate space welcomes you right away. The upper level was reserved for a friend's private engagement party. Nice spacious room overlooking the distillery. Such a great space, in my opinion. The drinks were refreshing and the food was really really tasty, although beef sliders were abit on the dry side someone mentioned, The second batch of beef sliders didn't disappoint. I was also told...the vegan sliders were my choice and very good. I had 5 ! Aside from three choices of sliders, there was pizza hot from the pizza oven on the first floor. Great experience, this little hidden jem at the corner of 13th and J Street.

Google
It was my first time visiting this venue and it’s well worth it if your looking for some tasty bites or refreshing drinks this is a great venue. It’s an awesome neighborhood venue in east village for catching sports nearby petco. The staff is super friendly and all the food we ordered was delicious.

Google
First time at Storyhouse. The atmosphere was pretty cool. The drinks were so good and our bartender was very attentive. I never had to go look for her, she was always right there waiting to take our next drink order.

Luiza M.

Yelp
A welcoming bar by Petco Park with excellent cocktails and delicious bites! I love coming by Storyhouse for a cocktail and a snack, these parmesan garlic fries were some of the freshest most delicious fries I've ever had, and you can't go wrong with any of their cocktails. The staff is all so welcoming and love to chat about sports or spirits, definitely worth a stop before a Padres game

Jessica P.

Yelp
Came here a couple of times and mainly for cocktails. Street parking can be tough in the area so just be aware. I came here one time during Comic Con and it was super crowded here but the second time I came was on a Friday night and was surprisingly empty, but it could be cause we came when they were an hour away from closing. The drinks are pretty good overall if you want some cocktail and want somewhere to enjoy your time and socialize with friends. It can sometimes get a bit loud or it can be pretty chill depending on the day and time. They also sell food here but I never tried their food so can't tell if it's good or not but I do like the drinks so far. Feel free to try out this place if you want some good cocktails!

Yelp
Great ambiance, great beer, amazing food and awesome staff. Got the Japanese chicken and house burger, both delicious!

Creighton A.

Yelp
This place is simply fantastic. I highly recommend it for its food, service and atmosphere.

Cezar S.

Yelp
The venue exudes a relaxed and inviting ambiance. The service was exceptional, with a friendly server welcoming us upon arrival and allowing us to choose any available table. During happy hour, the drinks were delightful--I started with an old fashioned and later enjoyed another happy hour cocktail. The food, particularly the nachos, was delicious. Reasonable prices make this place a definite return destination, especially since it's conveniently close to my workplace

Kris G.

Yelp
Storyhouse is our spot for Friday happy. I would say we come to storyhouse probably 3-6 times a month. Sometimes just for drinks, or happy hour and a snack, and sometimes for dinner. The parmesan garlic fries are delicious and just right for a snack while having a beverage. Their wagyu sliders are also delicious and we are a big fan of their pizzas. They have a full bar and as I went into detail on in my first review for them a number of years ago, they distill their own liquor: Vodka, Gin, Bourbon and Rye. We typically have their classic Old Fashioneds, but their Storyhouse Margarita and Rookie Season are also quite tasty. Most of the time everyone is very friendly and attentive. We enjoy the casual fun vibe. I love their indoor/outdoor feel when the big "garage" windows are up and that they are dog friendly. While our pup hasn't made the wall of dogs yet, they do have a Woof menu and he loves the patty. Very happy with this establishment being in our neighborhood.

Robert H.

Yelp
This was my second time back and instead of going with the beer, we grabbed some happy hour appetizers and some cocktails. This made for an amazing happy hour. The drinks were amazing. My gf loved the yacht music and I enjoyed the bite in my mule. The sliders and tacos were amazing, but the fries were even better. So good we got a second order. This will definitely be in the happy hour rotation.

Wendy R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere to watch games. Watched a game here before going to an actual padres game beforehand and got drinks. The vibe was great. Very spacious. Wheelchair accessible. Service was wonderful too. No complains. Great spot to pregame before a Petco park event, it's only 2 blocks away.

Yelp
SETTING Storyhouse Spirits is a modern, open-concept restaurant/distillery/cocktail bar serving new American fare, and uniquely crafted cocktails, spirits, wine, canned drinks. This is a gem in the east village neighborhood of downtown San Diego. I appreciate the custom decor and comfy interior. SERVICE 5/5 Staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful with recommendations. DRINKS 5/5 Bullet with Butterfly Wings: Delicious and pleasantly strong, floral, fruity, sweet, and spicy. 4/5 Footsteps Falco: Strong, smoky, and sour. Personally not my thing but I can appreciate the depth of quality. FOOD 4.5/5 Tuna Taro Taco (trio): Unique crunchy taro shell filled with soy marinated ahi, a nutty edamame purée, and spicy pickled cucumber. I only wish I had more. These are on the smaller side. 4.5/5 Pesto + Ricotta Pizza with added chicken: Tart oven roasted tomatoes, bright lemon zest, nutty pine nuts, and dashes of melted mozzarella and pesto make this quite a pizza combination. I personally prefer a thicker layer of toppings, and may opt for a thicker crust next time. PARKING Street parking is limited. I parked four blocks away in a paid lot - $12 for four hours. P.S. I'd definitely come back for the drinks and to experience the happy hour (I believe 3-6pm daily).

Scott P.

Yelp
We found this little gem by accident, after stopping at the Church by Lost Abbey. They had a good happy hour and it was even valid on the weekend. 8 dollar drinks and food specials? Yes please! The friendly staff was great and gave us some good choices for both food and drink. We shared an order of delicious soft tacos and two drinks. We got an old fashioned and a gimlet. Both were amazing and made with house spirits. It has a great indoor/outdoor space in East Village. If you want good food, drinks and staff, this is the place!

M D.

Yelp
Food was good. Drinks are good. But $63 for two mixed drinks, a plain burger and fries? No wonder why this place is usually empty.

Tico S.

Yelp
If you are in San Diego and need a place to host a reception or just for a great meal, look no further. The food, staff were all excellent. The upstairs has such a great vibe. Amy, Erica and Michael and Dave were excellent.

Sean H.

Yelp
Cute little airy bar near Petco and east village, I enjoyed the high bar stool chairs and watching the downtown nightlife. Our server was amazing and she was so friendly and informative!! FOOD: Pesto pizza with chicken - kinda dry and the chicken was like tiny little diced pieces Ahi Tuna tacos - creative take on mini tacos with taro chips as a shell, very salty but tasty if you like poke bowls definitely try it! Drinks: drinks were tasty and strong. And lots of other non cocktail options like cider which I love.

Yelp
Downtown San Diego's up and coming hip area is East Village. Storyhouse Spirits cultivates a neighborhood local hangout that travelers will appreciate as well. A true San Diego/California vibe with the open air seating Behind the bar you can see the small batch distillery. A few blocks away from the busy gas lamp area. Close to Petco Park, perfect place before ballgames or concert events. Here are my top reasons for stopping in, whether visiting or local. Actually there are too many reasons to list but here are my top. 1. The vibe, transported out of city to a beach with ceiling fans chill music and big screen TVs witb Sundays football games. 2. They are a small batch distillery. *photos below 3. Super clean 4. Food is perfect for the atmosphere. Hamburgers are rumored to be one of the best, and wood oven pizza * oven photos below 5. You can buy spirits . Great gift idea ! Made in Cali on the label. 6. Elliot, bar manager is awesome. 7. Great crowd. 8. Safe for solo visitors I mistaken this place for a brewery. San Diego, city known for wonderful breweries, i expected to order a beer, and have few other options. I was pleasantly surprised to notice all the craft cocktails being served. Then i realized this is distillery. The craft cocktails are expertly made using their own house made spirits.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Came across this restaurant when we were in town for Comic-Con. Nice ambience when we walked in. Food, drinks, and service were good. The price of the tacos were high for the tiny three tacos that you get. The venue has indoor and outdoor dining. We enjoyed our time and can't wait to try the other items on the menu next time we're in the area.

Jeff L.

Yelp
A cute little bar that flew under the radar for me given my lack of hanging in East Village. They specialize in Gin cocktails and even have a few spirits of their own (several of which are Gin). The place is a bit cozy but intimate and with the # of TVs they have i can also double as a place to catch some games too! Our group only had the fries but they were great! Will have to come back to try other foods but if I'm being honest, we might just end up mainly just drinking again :D Good spot to start the downtown trek and perhaps a date!

Sandya N.

Yelp
Storyhouse Spirits is a solid spot for good cocktails when you're downtown. Even better is that they have an excellent happy hour with drinks and vegan options, and they produce their own spirits! Having been there twice now, I can say with confidence that the service is great, even when they're busy. Both servers we've had have been super cool and checked in with us before happy hour ended to see if we wanted another drink. The upstairs seating area (indoors only) is lovely and has a classier, relaxed vibe with a great view of the Central Library across the street. Downstairs has a lively, slightly sports bar feel along with patio seating. Current HH cocktail offerings are a bourbon old fashioned, a gin gimlet, and a vodka mule. I've tried them all and prefer the old fashioned as it's well balanced and smooth, without any harsh alcohol burn despite being a boozy drink. The gimlet was tasty but a tad heavy on the lime for me, and the mule had some harsh notes to it that I couldn't quite get past to properly enjoy the drink (but my husband enjoyed it). As for vegan food, they have a vegan slider and fries on the HH menu. Both were delicious! The burger was a Beyond meat patty topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions on a pretzel bun slathered with chipotle vegenaise. It was a finger licking umami bomb! The fries were hot, crispy, and nicely salted. FYI, these are the only vegan offerings on the regular menu at this time. It would great if they added a few more options in the future. Something to note is that the restaurant adds a 3% surcharge to your bill (called "EE surcharge", supposedly to cover rising cost of labor, operational expenses, etc.), but I didn't see this mentioned anywhere on their menu. While it's not a lot, I prefer full disclosure and don't like when these charges suddenly appear when I'm about to pay. Overall a good experience and I look forward to a return visit.

Hardy G.

Yelp
The rare bar and grill/sports bar you that is lively and yet you can hear the person across the table from you. Great service, and very tasty food. Portions are a bit small but I'll definitely be back.

James V.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Storyhouse after a Padres game. Happy Hour runs til 6pm each day. We enjoyed the chill vibes. It's open seating with servers coming to your table. They were attentive and friendly. The interior is spacious. Modern decor. The garage door, half indoor/outdoor aesthetic is perfect for San Diego. Clean as well. Our drinks hit the spot. Well crafted with great flavor combinations. The food was super enjoyable too: fries, wagyu Sliders, and pizza. All hit the spot. Wonderful pairing with our drinks. Awesome music and a fun, chill place to hang out and/or watch a game.

Crystal W.

Yelp
My favorite place in San Diego! Margaritas are delicious and the entire staff is Amazing! Looks of TVs, music, and you can even bring your fur babies.

Johnnie F.

Yelp
I went here before a concert at Petco. Super cute restaurant with fun cocktails and yummy cross cut fries! All the bartenders were super helpful (it was my first time eating here) with good recs on drinks :) I'll be back for some pizza this next time!

stephanie M.

Yelp
Vibes here were nice and relaxed. Very pet friendly and a great afternoon spot to watch the games.

Britney M.

Yelp
The boyfriend and I, came here for a corporate event. We arrived on-time and they already had appetizers going around. The first round of hors d'oeuvres consisted of toasted ravioli (cheese only inside) with a spicy marinara sauce. Those were very good, but did have a kick to them. They served flatbreads; margarita style pizza and chicken pizza. The margarita pizza was really good! I enjoyed the Brussel sprouts very much. They were super sweet, in what tasted like a balsamic vinaigrette maybe? In any case, very tasty and I don't even like Brussel sprouts. Other hors d'oeuvres that were brought out; pieces of salmon and steak. And they served these flakey biscuits that had spinach and cheese inside them. Those were soooooo yummy. The desserts were cheesecake, chocolate cake and a raspberry, pistachio tart. The food and appetizers were great. This venue has an upstairs area for drinks and food and a downstairs with the bar area. If you sit downstairs there are homeless people that will walk by on the sidewalk. So be careful of them. The upstairs was nice and cozy. The bathrooms had cute walls and were clean lol Our service though. We had amazing service! I don't know the name of the waitress that checked in on us constantly, but she was so good. She was friendly, personable and made sure we were taken care of the whole night. Side note- she also had some gorgeous red lipstick on lol

Branson U.

Yelp
Such a great Vibe and really good drinks. Stumbled upon Storyhouse one day while walking to the Padre Game. I told my wife we gotta stop by here either before or after to snag drinks. It doesn't matter your vibe, whether you just finished watching the Padres play or you're wanting to just grab a drink you have to come here. My wife got a cider and I wanted to try their Espresso Martini. It is one of the better Espresso Martini's in San Diego. There is a ton of seating and as I stated before the Vibes and Mood from everyone in there is great.

Paul C.

Yelp
Brandon is an exceptional bartender whose skills and service go beyond the ordinary. His attention to detail and ability to craft the perfect cocktail are simply unmatched. Whether it's a classic Old Fashioned or a creative new concoction, Brandon's mixology expertise shines through in every sip. His warm and welcoming demeanor makes every patron feel like a regular, and his knowledge of spirits and flavors is truly impressive. It's not just about the drinks; it's the experience that Brandon creates that makes a visit to the bar memorable. His professionalism and passion for bartending elevate the atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine drinks and great company. Cheers to Brandon, a true maestro behind the bar!

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere and the service was great! Ordered my food and came out in good time. It was delicious!

Jamie C.

Yelp
We stopped here for food before the Padre game. Great atmosphere. I got the carnitas tacos....sounded boring, but boy were they fantastic! My husband got a pizza , which is his specialty. I wasn't going to drink but holey moley, the espresso martini was literally the best I've EVER had, and im addicted so have had many. What made it so good was the thick hand shaken cream on top!!!! I couldn't resist, so ordered a 2nd. The cream was slightly thinner on the 2nd, but still amazing. Our waitress was super sweet and patient as well.

Ally G.

Yelp
Went here for a meeting/social hour and was impressed with the service staff and their welcoming interaction, with the food - delicious tofu skewers and a passable vegan Mac and cheese, really good pandaan gin cocktail that was recommended. We sat upstairs in a comfortable and breezy section by the windows. I'll be back!

Jessica D.

Yelp
What we ordered | Lobster Mac N Cheese | Punch Bowl Taste | Lobser Mac N Cheese was pretty good and I like the big portions of lobster. the punch bowl was huge and we shared it with 4 people. Service | servers were chill and gave recommendations Notes | they allow dogs and they also give water bowls for dogs

Ryan L.

Yelp
Storyhouse bundles everything you want from your local bar/distillery. Immaculate vibes, tasty drinks, dope people, and reasonable prices (at least for the drinks). This pet friendly establishment is an awesome pre-night or post-night spot to be. The playlist is always on point and the staff makes you feel truly welcome. The food is absolutely delicious although a bit pricy. I religiously get the Yacht Music and my girlfriend gets the Pinkies Out. If you're craving just some quality local made liquor than grab a flight. Their Coastal Gin is awesome and amazing on the rocks. Bottom Line. Whether it's after a game at Petco, or before you're about to tear up Gaslamp--make a stop in Storyhouse and grab a drink. You will not regret it.

Robert T.

Yelp
Really cool upstairs, a break from chaotic downstairs. Interesting bar menu with a small concession to vegan folks. A really cool venue for a company-sponsored happy hour. Didn't check the restroom, but parking is pretty tough street in East Village. Good Uber candidate.

Joel C.

Yelp
Here in the United States that you can find the many companies that are the top makers of the fine liquors and the great spirits of the United States that have been around for a long period of time. That in the older years that the United States had its time of the prohibition, and the many different types came from the bootleggers and the many different types of whiskey that was coming from Canada. As the many years would change the way that liquor is made the many companies here in the United States and the many smaller cities that have their own brands and the labels that were created over the many years. When you take a look about the many restaurants you find the many different beers that are personal breweries and the places that have brewed beer over the many years and produced major brands. When you look at the many major brands that have come through the many centuries the many whiskeys that were from the days of the cowboys when it worked its ways up through the 1940 and through the backwoods of the of Kentucky and Tennessee. To many that have seen the location and have seen the large art piece that is on the side of the building that many would have never known that the Storehouse is a Whiskey Brewery and the old ways that whiskey was made old style brewery. The Storehouse is one place that has an open-air front seating and the fold down windows just like an aircraft hangar at the street side. When I had visited the Story house it had the feel of a regular restaurant and yet the mix with a cocktail bar, there is much more the Story house offers great place for drinks and the food that is served which is the best. To go to a brewery that has an area party and gathering area and the viewing of the brewing process that you can see whiskey being made with a tasting session that the Story House has their many awards winning brands they have many awards for full flavor whiskeys. The many beers that I have seen have been some the best brands and the many recipes which are not from the major brewers, but these are from personal brewers. But when you come to the Story House you will see how whiskey is made the way it's made to see whiskey that is old as time to be made by a personal brewery most people have never seen done before. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer to see such a process such as this is seeing a history lesson going on right in front of you to see a drink known as firewater by the many reservations across the United States. Story House is a great place for friends and coworkers have a great time you'll get to see history in the making at the Story House.

Kim P.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite and drinks before a concert. The food was ok, not bad but not great - about a 3/5 when factoring taste and price. The Mac and cheese was pretty bland. The drink I tried was better, would give it a 4. In my limited sampling of the menu I would probably give this place a 3.5/5 but I rounded up for the Yelp rating. Would recommend coming for drinks but not necessarily food. The bartender also let us try some of the different spirits they make onsite, all were good.

Amy S.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday with some friends. There was a private event on the roof so we sat on the main level, we were the only people there. Nice airy atmosphere with all the windows open and great music playing. Cocktails were good, the group favorites were the Rookie which was refreshing, and the All Killer No Filler, which was strong and on the sweeter side. Didn't get a photo but the garlic Parmesan fries were really good with fresh parm and chunks of roasted garlic on top. We got 2 orders and one was noticeably larger than the other for some reason. The house ranch they served with them was The fried chicken sliders had good flavor, although there wasn't much meat to the chicken pieces. My friends said the vegan impossible sliders were just okay. People also liked the pesto ricotta pizza and the shmac & cheese. The food came out at all different times over the course of maybe 20 minutes, and the Mac and cheese took especially long. We didn't think much of it as we were chatting and eating the other stuff, but the waiter proactively apologized and comped them because of the long wait which was appreciated. The service in general was excellent. It was a bit overpriced but that's to be expected for downtown, so at least the food, drinks, and service were good. They did say they have specials during baseball season so I'll be back for sure, and would consider booking a private party there too since I know they offer that!

Yelp
Always liked Storyhouse Spirits though hadn't been to the place in about six months. After a dreadful eight hour drive from Vegas, Storyhouse's open air seating looked appealing. We took a seet at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bar crew. Even though the place was crowded, staff was still friendly and accomodating. The bartender recommended the vegan beyond sliders, even though she's not vegan. I talked my carnivore hubby into trying the vegan Beyond Burger sliders and they were DELICIOUS! Hubby could not believe they were vegan. We also tried the BBQ chicken pizza, also delicious. While Storyhouse is a distillery and I don't drink cocktails, they offered a good selection of local craft beers. Cocktails did look delicious and had fun Padres theme names - Ha-seong Gin looked especially refreshing.

Kristy W.

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday night and was able to snag a table at the patio without too long of a wait. Their patio is pet friendly! We ordered a punch bowl and shared with 4 people. It was a really good size and adequately strong. We wanted something to snack on so we got the lobster Mac and cheese. It's good to share as an appetizer. The lobster pieces were pretty big and I liked that they added some breading on top for texture. I'd come back here again!

Lexy E.

Yelp
We came here for some food during opening day for the Padres and it was great! The atmosphere is fantastic and they are dog friendly! I even ordered a grilled chicken breast for my furry friend. My two friends got the fried chicken sandwich and both really liked it. And it sure did look fantastic. I got the Ahi Tuna that came with root vegetable chips and it was super good. They have a few TVs and plenty of seating for watching a game. Looking forward to coming back!

Angela B.

Yelp
Took a break here during a bike ride and ordered some drinks to hang out and check out Comic-Con attendees walking by. Nice outdoor/indoor seating area and dog friendly

Will K.

Yelp
Let's face it San Diego (/California, /the world), we're all a bit tired of the distressed wood, metal pipe, Edison bulb, canvas apron, former factory turned to eating/drinking place aesthetic. Further, we're a bit tired of 'we make our own unique (insert beer, whiskey, rum) made from the shavings of organic Atlantean unicorn flowers, aged in barrels sourced from a little known island off the coast of Tibet. Even more, we're growing a bit tired of "XYZ style" BBQ. Can we get a clean, well lit interior? Can we get some simple, good, local drinks? Can we get imaginative, tasty, food not tasting like a forest fire? Yes, yes San Diego, you can. Wide open doors, bright, happy interior, great food selection that's with in the realm of known, but exceedingly tasty. A great house made bourbon that's approachable, great tasting and good both in a cocktail or neat. And a staff that knows the menu, knows drinks, knows how to ask about what you might like, both stays close by, but doesn't hover. It's a recipe for nailing exactly what we need downtown. The pesto pizza was excellent. Often a pesto pizza can be an oily mess, or, just have no pesto taste. Storyhouse nails this one perfectly. Crispy, perfect amount of Pesto flavor. Duck Tacos. Listen, San Diego has a thing about Tacos, where life long friends will harm eachother over the definition, classification and grading of Tacos. We're like that. Storyhouse does Duck Tacos. These are easily top 10 among the "break the norm" tacos. They're not TJ style, they're not Asian fusion style, they're not food truck style, they are just refreshingly good tacos. It's just off the beaten path that you're not gonna get overrun by anyone on a bar crawl, and very... fun.. in side. I'd say it's a bit overlooked, and underknown. Secretly, I'd wish it stay that way, but it's too good not to share.

Diana M.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a drink, so no review on food here. We each got the Yacht Music - very refreshing with a great flavor. I also liked the fact that they identified that orgeat is derived from nuts, as I've seen that as a cocktail ingredient multiple places without that same designator. The bartenders were friendly and I'd definitely come back to visit.

James D.

Yelp
We liked this place so much we came here TWICE in one weekend! On Saturday evening, we came here to grab a drink and were wowed by their pizza. They have an Octo Pie on the menu that is literally amazing. I've never had a pizza like this before. They use actual chunks of cooked octopus on a thin crust pizza, along with a spicy marinara sauce. The entire thing is delicious and will change your life. Their cocktails are super good too. I ordered the All Killer no Filler and definitely enjoyed it! A must go place if you're around the Petco Park/Gaslamp area!

Saleen D.

Yelp
Located in East Village. Awesome place to relax with friends! They serve food several pizzas, wings, burgers, tacos, fries, & more. They serve your typical classics such as Old Fashioned & Manhattan, as well as house cocktails such as All Killer No Filler & Banana Creampie. Strong & tasty! They have wines & beers too.

Ricardo J.

Yelp
This place sucks . Horrible food. It tasted like fake cheese . The service was horrible

Dorothy B.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday, 05/13/22 for my niece graduation reception around 7pm. The private event was held upstairs. It is a beautiful space which has table seating, bar height seating and couch seating. There are open windows where you see the view outside. Looking down, you can downstairs that a distillery view. There was a good selection of food from the starters to main course. The drinks were good as well. Good and drinks were brought up from downstairs. The service was fine. Overall, it was a lovely night.

Spencer K.

Yelp
Storyhouse Spirits is a really cool spot to grab some nice drinks & snacks. Definitely check Storyhouse Spirits out if you wanna grab a drink with some friends.

Yelp
Went here for happy hour today and am so glad we found this gem in the east village! The wagyu slider and carnitas taco (both $4) on the happy hour menu were delicious! The slider was perfectly cooked that it made me want to come back and order the burger from their regular menu. The vodka mule was super fresh, tasting like they used real ginger. We also ordered a sausage and meatball flatbread which was also delicious. Service was good and this was a fun little hangout. Walking distance from our place, so we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Had a great time at Storyhouse Spirits. The food was really good. I wish I'd eaten a bit more but was having too much fun with the cocktails. I had the tuna taro tacos. They were delicious. The shaved onion on top was unique and so tasty. I also shared Parmesan fries with my friend. I'm more of a wine person but had cocktails here instead. I went traditional with just a standard Moscow mule. They were excellent. Had three of them. The service was also great. Elise was so much fun to have as a server. Super friendly and attentive. We had everything we needed at all times. The ambiance was perfect and they also had heaters that were so nice since it was rainy and cold. An all around A for this place. Had such a good time.

Yelp
I came here when they first opened and tried some kind of blueberry cocktail that wasn't on the menu. It was delicious and had an "oaky" taste to it. Although it took a while to order since it was so busy, the bartenders were nice and even asked me for my preferences on alcohol. This bar looks very industrial and had their distillery room towards the back. I went upstairs to check out the space and had a view of the up and coming East Village. The second floor is more loungey and had some comfortable seating. They were offering bites that were yummy, so I wanted to come back and try their full menu when it was ready, but never had a chance to. I don't think too many people knew about Storyhouse Spirits and the location wasn't the greatest, so this must be the reason why they are no longer in operation.

Yelp
Great spot to eat and drink near Petco Park before or after a game. The Limited Edition Summer Hibiscus Gin was my favorite spirit and the Rookie Season was my favorite cocktail. Really tasty sliders and onion rings too. They even offered a vegan slider option! You can check out my full review at frequentflighters.com (San Diego Spirits Festival episode)
