"This South Tampa taqueria certainly ups the style quotient on the typical taqueria. Heirloom corn is nixtamalized in house for a menu featuring tacos, tostadas, salsas, sides and more. Don't skip the Sunday snack tostada, an equal parts sweet-and-savory delight with two blue corn tostadas layered with cream cheese with lump crab, diced sweet mango and a mango habanero sauce." - The MICHELIN Guide

I went with my friend who was in town from Atlanta, and we had such a great experience. I ordered a Margarita, my friend ordered an Espresso Martini, and they were both perfectly made. For our meal, we shared the Grouper Tacos and the Nachos. The Grouper Tacos stole the show, hands down! They were delicious; one of the best Grouper tacos I’ve ever had! They’re lightly fried, but you couldn't tell by the way they just melt in your mouth! So good! The staff was great, and the vibe was so chill and comfortable. I’ll definitely be back!

Food & Drinks were all very good. Service was excellent. Loved the Margaritas. The frozen one was better than expected. If you like spicy ask for the Spicy Arbol Salsa, not just heat but flavorful. We even bought a bottle to take home!

Absolutely love this place! I’m originally from Texas, and it’s been hard to find truly good Mexican food in Tampa — but this spot gets it right. I always order the wood-grilled Street Light Bowl (so flavorful), and my friend had the shrimp tacos, which she loved. We finished with the tres leches cake, and it was so good — light, sweet, and perfectly done. Highly recommend!

Google
This place was pretty amazing. The restaurant looks nice and clean on the inside. I loved the qr codes for food orders. It was fun and easy. The presentation was nice also. Shrimp 9.75/10 best shrimp tacos I've ever had. I only wish the tortilla was corn Brisket 9.5/10 this was the star!!! Big helpings of brisket. This was a messy and juicy taco. Flavor was amazing Asada 9.2/10 nothing to be mad at except they only have two per order. The meat was cooked well Carnitas 4.5/10 The flavor drop off from the other tacos to this one was disappointing. If the shrimp tacos are the peak these carnitas are deep in the valley. They were dry and lacked flavor.

*UberEats take-out order* Deliciously fresh food, great portion sizes, quality ingredients! My order came packaged well & free of spills. After placing my order on UberEats, I called the restaurant to ask if they had hot sauce & the gentleman over the phone was polite & accommodating, adding 2 containers; it was delicious! Each inventive taco 🌮 had it's own distinct flavors. The sweet potato taco had a nice, charred taste & paired well with the creamy cheese & burst of pomegranate seeds. The shrimp taco was bright & fresh with a sauce reminiscent of tzaziki. The carne asada taco was cooked medium rare to medium & tender, paired with a tomatillo like salsa. The carnitas taco was a tad salty, but the flavors were delicious. The guacamole was nice & spicy with plenty of jalapeños. All dishes were served with plenty of limes 👍🏼 The mango sorbet tasted like freshly pureed fruit, not too sweet & very smooth. Excellent take-out experience, tasted like dine-in! Top notch quality! 😋

Google
WOW! This place is seriously impressive on every level. You can really tell that a lot of thought and effort was put into creating these unique and authentic Mexican dishes and well crafted tequila inspired cocktails. The sampler with 3 dips is the only way to start your experience. The tortilla chips are in-house made, like 99% of everything here, and pairs perfectly with the guacamole, warm salsa, and queso. Get the chorizo chipotle queso. O M G. Every dish here was absolutely amazing. The shrimp tacos have a creamy sauce that I've never had before that just elevated this taco so much. The steak tacos were delicious, but surprisingly, a tad spicy. The fresh crab and mango, with a Mango habanaro sauce, is a must try but on the spicy side. Never had anything like it. And dessert? Whoa, the Tres Leche cake is literally divine with the pink dragon fruit dust on top of homemade cream. It's literally the most amazing thing I've ever tasted and such a unique take on that style of dessert. The highlight of the dining experience was our bartender Lauren. She provided the perfect food suggestions, and when I was feeling something with mango in it for my margarita, she whipped up the perfect passion fruit mango cocktail with tajin and mezcal to pair amazingly well with my meal. Her partner Michael was whipping up drinks effortless right beside her, and Tori was such an incredible worker, never letting my water glass reach empty, especially with all the spicy items I was indulging in. Overall, it was my first time here, and it won't be my last. Very impressive establishment!

Stopped here before heading out of Tampa after the M72 Metallica World Tour. We ordered the guacamole, the Queso Flameado to start with. For our main meal we ordered Brisket tacos and Carne Asada tacos. Food was served quickly and was delicious.

Stopped by without looking it up first and was pleasantly surprised! They have a small outdoor area, which is perfect if you’re bringing a dog. The staff was super friendly, and the taco options are seriously impressive — the Sweet Potato, Brisket, and Shrimp tacos were all amazing. Also, don’t miss their signature cocktails — definitely worth trying!

Yelp
I stop by on a Tuesday afternoon to try out this spot for the first time. I was immediately greeted and given a choice of where to sit there were a lot of people in there, but that was expected since it was during the week. I ordered their taco of the day which included two barbacoa tacos, which were delicious! They were on the greasy side, but well worth it. I would love to go back and try a different taco.

Laura A.

Yelp
Delicious!! Stopped by midafternoon to kill time before a flight. What a great choice! We started with the off-menu dip sampler. Salsa verde - guacamole - queso. Yes please ... and can we talk about the chips?!? Crisp with just enough salt. Once again I failed to take pictures but everything was incredible. I got the Blue Fin Tuna Tostada upon recommendation and it was simply the best thing I've ever eaten. Fresh - flavorful - top ingredients. I could've had 10. The rest of the table for a variety of tacos. All amazing. The pork and brisket were succulent and bursting with flavor - just a hint of heat to keep it interesting. The elote corn was a meal in itself. They have a fabulous cocktail menu with a nice selection of Mexican beers. My margarita was tart yet refreshing, and just strong enough for the tequila to shine through. Our Server was attentive and made excellent suggestions - que Blue Fin Tuna Tostada selection. The place is smaller so I would suggest calling for a reservation if you plan on going during peak hours. I live down in the Sarasota area but will absolutely make the trip back so that I can sample more of the fantastic menu.

Yelp
They are newer so not crazy busy yet. It's a Michelin bib gourmand restaurant and it's a sister company to Rocca, a Michelin one star so you know the quality is there! We opted to sit at the 'bar' which actually was the kitchen counter...but I preferred this! It was fun to watch behind the scenes. Our server was great, I saw her multi-tasking too. All the staff seemed to be on top of it. Coco margarita- delicious. Tastes like a pina colada non-frozen! So good I got it twice. They have an alcohol free guava horchata that sounds yummy I wanna try next time. Guacamole- standard but atleast no one ingredient was too much or too little. The chips were the star though- huge tostadas which are homemade and delicious. Alitas- wings but 6/10, the sauce was too sweet. Carne asada taco- 9/10. This was both our fav taco, everything was perfect. Carnitas taco- 9/10. The soft pork and the crunch of the chicharron was a great combo..and the melted cheese yum. Brisket taco- 5/10. The nuts made it a little sweeter and not what I was expecting. Flan- 8/10. My husband LOVED this flan like it's the best he had. It's your normal flan with an orange zest flavor. It was good but the orange might throw you off. Return? Yes definitely for drinks and a light meal Recommend? Yes, authentic tasting tacos in a modern feel

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place! Best margs in Tampa hands down. I think we have tried almost everything on the menu and it always hits. Good, quality Mexican food with excellent service. We love sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartenders.

Yelp
We came to Streetlight Taco on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant has a clean, modern interior and the bar is fun with the open kitchen. We got seated pretty quickly and all the staff were super friendly. We started with the quesadilla frita and this was probably my favorite dish of the evening. The crispy fried corn masa with the gooey cheese and pickled onions + salsa was the perfect combo. The carne asada tacos were also really delicious with a spicy kick. The shrimp tacos were good, but not as unique as I thought they would be. The wood-grilled chicken tacos were yummy and packed with chicken, but the wood-grilled flavor was a bit overpowering. We ended the night with the sweet corn and blueberry chill bros ice cream. The blueberry swirls throughout the ice cream were perfect, but overall it lacked the sweet corn flavor I expected it to have. Delicious food at Streetlight Taco and definitely a good spot to try in Tampa, especially since it made the Michelin list. It's on the pricier side, but the ingredients are clearly fresh and they put a lot of thought into their dishes.

Anat S.

Yelp
Great place with fast service and tasty food. I like that it's open all day long and there's no need to reserve a table, a lot of meat options, less for pescatarians and even less for vegan but still a few dishes to choose from. Good drinks too.

Melissa B.

Yelp
My husband and I received a friendly greeting at the door, and we sat ourselves at the bar. It's a well lit restaurant - from all of the windows- but not too bright. It's a very simple/classic design but works well in this environment. The bartender immediately asked if we wanted anything to drink besides water, and I promptly ordered the classic margarita. It was Taco Tuesday, so they upgraded the tequila to a higher quality- delicioso! We ordered Guacamole- it had thinly sliced jalapeños- which we love, served with large format chips- very tasty! We also ordered shrimp tacos- it came with 2, on flour tortillas... also very tasty. Nachos was the last thing we ordered- there was a choice of protein to add and we chose carnitas. It was a new menu item and it's definitely a great addition. It was a nice portion and was really good. Great atmosphere, great staff... can't wait to go back.

Yelp
So happy I finally got to try Streetlight Taco! This has been on my need to try list since they opened, and I'm even more disappointed it's taken me so long after loving it so much! First off, it's way bigger inside than expected. Lots of parking spots. We sat at the bar and I love the open kitchen--it was super fun watching them shape and press the tortillas and everything. We started with the chipotle queso with chorizo and it was delicious! The chips were just the right amount of salty and crunchy too. We got two pollo a la leña tacos, two carnitas tacos, two brisket tacos, and the chicken milanesa cemita. I had one of the chicken tacos and both of the carnitas tacos, all of which were very yummy! I thought the chicken taco was great, but it wasn't as exciting as the carnitas which was remarkable. It definitely had a kick to it and I have such a low spice tolerance, but I enjoyed it and would reorder for SURE! I didn't drink but a lot of people around me had really fun looking cocktails. Looking forward to coming back and trying more!

Morgan P.

Yelp
Fantastic quality of Tacos and great options for sides. everything was really delicious we ordered the carne asada tacos, chipotle queso and salsa verda and elote and rice along with a few margaritas. The Coco margarita was not too sweet and really great probably one of the best i've had. Our server had good recommendations and the food came out quickly.

Amanda T.

Yelp
We came back again to try more! - Queso Flameado: this is your typical queso with some pico in the center. Pretty good, nothing outstanding, I prefer the one with the chorizo (3.5/5) - Steak Taco: absolutely delicious and I loved the papitas crunch (4.5/5) - Barbacoa Taco: I liked the added salsa that came with it, the flavors were all there and delicious (4/5) - Frozen Espresso Martini: absolutely DELICIOUS! (5/5)

Kristin C.

Yelp
Sooo glad we finally made it in to try Streetlight Taco. I know there are some people that say that it doesn't live up to the hype, but I disagree and think it's totally worth all the hype. We had the guacamole, the chicken tacos, the shrimp tacos, and the carne asada tacos and it was all excellent. Usually chicken is not the best thing but that might have been my favorite. All the ingredients are excellent and super tasty. We sat at the bar, which is a nice atmosphere because of the open kitchen concept. Everything came out quickly and we'll definitely be back to try more!

Dawn F.

Yelp
Small menu but big flavors. Really busy. But service is still super quick. This is fast food meets restaurant. Good, strong drinks. Kinda loud with how busy it is, so don't expect intimate conversation.

christine k.

Yelp
Love at first smell and I don't even eat brisket. Finally got a chance to pop on over to a completely hopping Streetlight Taco on a Tuesday evening. Learned they have a Taco Tuesday offering you can only get on Tuesday so that's maybe why? Maybe just because they're delicious. Service is quick, you pick a table and scan it's QR code which is how you order and pay. We were greeted with ice water and checked in on promptly. You can also sit at the full service bar. Tables had purse hooks which is always a nice touch. Not able to narrow down the choice my husband ordered the Tuesday special taco and brisket tacos. I ordered two kinds of tostada's, crab and beet. Both were delicious. He raved about his. I enjoyed the veggie tostada more, him the brisket taco. The blue corn shells were so fresh and delicious, perfectly crisp on the tostada. We rounded out our meals with the cabbage dish, very refreshing and cooling, was expecting cooked cabbage but was happy with it being a raw side. The strawberry horchata was a nice change but pretty sweet. I'm conclusion, I'm glad I found this place off of the Michelin guide and I wish I lived a bit closer!

Pablo M.

Yelp
Love this place. Not your typical taco place, but you will be pleasantly surprised. Food is always good. Good drinks. Tight space, but they make it work really well.

Jenn L.

Yelp
Super excited to try Streetlight Taco because it is now a Michelin star which says a lot! It is an upscale taco spot with lots of unique flavors. I came here for lunch which was a bit busy and there was no reservation. Luckily there were seats open at the bar area and you could see how food is made and how they make fresh tortillas. The service was great, and the apps were good. I got the guac and queso flameado which comes with chips. They have a great selection of margaritas but didn't feel like drinking so I ended up getting strawberry horchata which I highly recommend! The reason why I gave 4/5 is that two tacos (stone ground heirloom corn tortilla) were a bit salty. I did enjoy the shrimp flour tortilla the best. What I ordered: - Strawberry horchata - QUESO FLAMEADO: torched white cheese blend, toppped with pico - STEAK: salt-cured wood-grilled steak, papitas, jalapeño chicharron, cilantro, onion, salsa borracha - CARNITAS: copper-cooked pork, cilantro, onion, chicharron, arbol salsa - SHRIMP: poblano, onion, melted cheese, cilantro, tomato, avocado goddess aioli

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place and left underwhelmed and disappointed. For starters the parking lot is extremely small and hard to get in and out of with such small spaces to back out. Walking in you are not greeted, and not informed that you sit yourself. A sign would have been nice to be aware of how the restaurant works. Moving on, you order off your phone which automatically charges your card $5 for "security." When ordering there's only a couple options for modifications but no where to type special modifications needed. You will need to flag down a server and ask for the special modifications as they will not come to the table till the food is ready. My friend and I ordered at the same time and my tacos came out 10 minutes after her tacos. The brisket Tacos is 2 per order and stacked pretty well with brisket but extremely greasy to where the plate was covered with grease after finishing. I ordered the Sweet Potato Taco with is 2 per order and the smallest amount of sweet potato. I don't need much food but this didn't fill me up at all. Both orders were $11, after tax and a standard tip of 20%, it totaled in $14 each. Leaving us to pay $7 a taco when my sweet potato was the smallest serving. With that, the ambiance was nice, restaurant was clean, food runners were friendly but I will not be returning.

Yelp
Street Light Tacos 4004 Henderson Blvd, Tampa, FL 33629 @streetlighttaco Mexico: Its culture, food and people from state to state, town to town. Thier menu is carefully planned from travels to the states of Mexico, Puebla, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Morelos & Tlaxcala. Come and experience Mexico's culture. Located in South Tampa.

Bridget S.

Yelp
Overall I did really enjoy my evening here, the queso flamedo was delicious (I didn't get to snap a photo since it was gone that quick) and I definitely enjoyed my carnitas tacos as well and would order them again in a heartbeat The tables are pretty close together and it did get pretty noisy, but there's outside seating as well to get away from that if you need to. You order food through the QR code on the table and although it could have been user error, all the food did come out at separate times for our group of 6, and one person never got their food until the end since the servers couldn't verify whether the order was paid for or not through the QR code website tab. But other than those little things, the food and drinks really were tasty, but just be aware of those couple things before going

Yelp
We came here for dinner tonight. My fiancé and his cousin provide the wood for Streetlight Tacos so we've really wanted to give Streetlight Taco a try! The restaurant is beautifully put together and has a nice ambiance. We enjoyed their outdoor seating area. It was covered and felt private with the surrounding plants. The restaurant does have limited parking, so if you live near by I recommended walking! I tried their 'Elote' appetizer which was corn covered in cotija, guajillo, mayo, and lime. It was so good! It was one of their most popular dishes and I can see why. The corn was warm and the cheese mixture melted right in your mouth when you ate it. It had a little bit of spice but the mayo and lime helped cool it down. I could've eaten two of them! We also tried their chips with avocado salsa and it was great. It was spicy and flavorful. The chips were freshly made and perfectly seasoned. The wait staff provided free refills of the chips. For entrees, I tried their 'Chicken Tinga' taco it was chicken on a corn tortilla with rice, onion, cilantro, and morita salsa. The chicken was flavorful and so tender. I really enjoyed the rice inside the taco. My fiancé tried their brisket taco and he said it was really good. For my drink, I tried their 'Margarita Coco' which came with cimarron blanco, Alma finca, agave, coconut, and lime. It was SO GOOD. It was one of the best drinks I've had at a restaurant. It was creamy and so smooth. It paired perfectly with the spicy food as the coconut milk subdued and spiciness. I got mind rimmed with sugar. Highly recommend this drink. We really loved Streetlight Taco. I definitely would like to come back. @living.with.reg

Yelp
Obsessed with this new taco spot. Came on Sunday night for cinco de mayo, so it was busy as expected, but we managed to snag a couple seats at the bar after waiting 15 min. Drinks were phenomenal -- picante marg was perfectly spicy, Brisa Fresca was deliciously refreshing, and the coco marg surprisingly was my favorite. I highly recommend starting with the guac and chipotle queso. For tacos, my favorite was the sweet potato taco. Carnitas and steak were close seconds. We will definitely be coming back to slowly eat our way through their entire menu. Service was solid, with friendly bartenders and quick output on food. 10/10 in all.

Heather N.

Yelp
Busy place, cute vibe! Not much parking but they have overflow next door. There are tables & the bar seating is at the bar or at the open kitchen. There is a covered outdoor patio too. You order from the app and our drinks & food came fast. The servers are all around if you need anything. Lots of margaritas & cocktails. The brisket esquites (corn, brisket, & drizzled sauces) and carnitas tacos were delicious. The beef tacos were pretty good but the beef was greasy & crispy cheese gave it a flavor I didn't love--will get something else next time.

Addessa J.

Yelp
Great ambiance. However, we weren't really impressed by the food. Michelin star restaurant not sure how. Lack of flavor but I would say fresh ingredients. My friend agreed with this review. Honest review I was disappointed. Service was okay when my drink wasn't correct the waitress acted like she did not understand me and my friend both ordered the same drink. Limited parking. The music that was being played was well diverse. Steak Tacos Brisket Tacos Street corn Mai Cocktail Guacamole

Andrew H.

Yelp
Had a solid experience. We went and the kitchen was backed up on this night so our food to a little longer than usual (which is probably the only reason this visit wasn't a 5) but the restaurant made up for it. The food that came out was fabulous and flavorful and definitely unique in flavor. The chorizo tacos were the best tacos I've ever had and I am someone who can actually eat Mexican food every meal. Wife had the chicken bowl and we shared the elote. No regrets and would definitely try again. Oh and I had the passion punch (non-alcoholic) and it was an excellent drink to pair with the food we had. Highly suggest. We had been waiting to try it and seized the opportunity to do so tonight. Thank you Streetlight.

Emily L.

Yelp
Best taco spot in tampa. The corn and flour tortillas are sooo good. Service was great at explaining the menu and staying present. The carnitas, shrimp and sweet potato tacos were all amazing. Their pairings are just so perfect. I love that it is stuff that I can't cook myself at home. Restaurant is clean and easy to walk in. Also, love that they have TVs to watch the games. I will be back!

Paulo I.

Yelp
At first, we were confused because we didn't know whether to sit ourselves or whether to talk to someone first. Knowing that we didn't find a host stand we just sat ourselves. Looking through the menu, I noticed that Streetlight Taco is more drinks and shareable rather than a full meal. The closes that I've seen to a full meal is this Torta. They have delicious looking chips and dip, Elote and a lot of Mexican classics. I really liked my Torta, the steak milanesa was cooked perfect! The ambiance is lovely, the restaurant receives a lot of natural light and looking up from the bar you can see all different looking streetlights which is a nice touch. Overall I had a great time but next time I come I'm definitely going during happy hour.

Charlotte B.

Yelp
Favorite taco spot hands down. Homemade tortillas and always fresh ingredients. Drinks are amazing too.

Felicia M.

Yelp
Needed a place to grab lunch after leaving Tampa airport and wow we found a gem! We started out with the spicy margarita and the passion fruit margarita, my husband thought my passion fruit was a bit more tasty. Our appetizer was the chipotle queso, I think my husband and I were going to lick the bowl clean. It was delicious and served with warm, freshly made chips. Then we had the street tacos. I had the mushroom and my husband the steak. They are outstanding especially since you watch the shells being made in front of you. Make a stop at this place for sure!

Riley M.

Yelp
IM DELIVERT! The Sunday Snack tostada CURED me of all aliments! It CURED me. It's one of the BEST things on the menu. This knocked it out of the park for me. My first time here and I lucked up BIG TIME. I also wanna shout out the steak and maitake mushroom tacos I had, as well. Those were also amazing. I wasn't feeling the brisket tacos. They tasted more like birria to me. They were good but EYE, wouldn't order them again. Service was fantastic and the ambiance was great. A nice place to start a Sunday family tradition at.

Valerie N.

Yelp
Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 5 Came here for lunch away from the office and so did a bunch of other people. Cute new taco place caught my eye so we had to try it out. I love the open kitchen look and feel. It is very cozy in size so I wouldn't plan a large group dinner of 6 or more here. Food is great taste and quality just very small portions. Entire staff was friendly. Didn't get a chance to try the cocktails but will be back for a post work drink. Parking is a bit tight so plan ahead.

Vicky F.

Yelp
For tables, it's QR code ordering only. Decent drinks, food, and 100% on the Sunday ice cream sundae. A little pricy but would go back to try more items.

Stu K.

Yelp
Wow! Great service. We started with the guacamole and it was very good. The tortilla were crispy and well done, just how I like them. We split brisket tacos, chorizo tacos and carnitas tacos. Oh. My. God. The brisket could stand up to any bbq place and I'm a bbq snob! The chorizo was very tasty and smoky. The carnitas comes with a spicy sauce that we got on the side. Nice kick. VERY delicious. We also had a couple of margaritas. Also very good. Highly recommend Streetlight! We'll def be back! (No pix bc we gobbled up the food so fast!)

Jamie S.

Yelp
Rarely do I rate a place 5 stars, but Streetlight taco deserves it. The food at Streetlight is top notch. The tacos aren't super authentic/traditional (if thats what you are looking for), but they are amazing and some of the best you'll taste anywhere! It's seriously good eating...they use high quality proteins, homemade tortillas, fresh toppings, etc. We had the chips with borracha salsa, roasted chicken tacos on flour and corn, and brisket tacos on flour. Everything was phenomenal!!! Streetlight hands down serves up the best tacos in Tampa! And the Margharitas are also extremely delicious. We sat at the bar...service was really good. The ambience is really chill and casual...good vibes only. As others have mentioned, the food is pricey, but its commensurate with the quality of the food. Can you get better value at other taco spots yes, but the food is not even in the same stratosphere. I'm disappointed I waited so long to check it out so be better than me...definitely check it

Mark B.

Yelp
Wandered in and found an amazing spot. Thanks for the great food and experience. Tacos were killler. Will be back

Fritz E.

Yelp
Food is spectacular! If you're looking for $3 a taco place, this ain't it... Everything made in house and with high quality ingredients. Brought to you by the team that brought us Rocco - a fantastic Italian restaurant by Armature Works. Great attention to detail to make their own tacos and allow corn to be more easily digested. Cocktails made with fresh ingredients. Carnitas and the brisket tacos were so good! They too the carnitas tacos with chicharrón...they could make a plate of chicharrón as an appetizer option! The guacamole & tostadas was delicious...never enough guacamole.... Pepitos were so good! I could have a brunch plate of pepitos, carnitas, crema, fried eggs & guacamole. The Doritos appetizer was gone quickly! This is the location where Holy Hog used to be located. They tore it down and put up this new building. We went opening night and got lucky the storm kept some people away on a rainy & chilly Tuesday night. Parking there may become interesting if this place really blows up. This place is a bit self service - you walk in, enter your order on a computer, pay, grab a number and find a table. Runners are there to bring you food, answer your questions and other requests. Pricing: expensive...what isn't... tacos re $5.50 each (sold as 2 for $11). Drinks are $12 & up. We had 2 cocktails, carnitas tacos, brisket tacos, pepitos, guacamole & chips, Doritos app... with tax & tip - $70+. We walked away full and very satisfied. If you want $3 or less per taco, there are also many local options. If you want to splurge at a place with the attention to detail of making their own corn mixture for their fresh tacos....make sure to come here! I'm giving them 4 stars because the food is that good and wish I could give 4.5 stars. Is it a 5 star experience like Rocca, Koya, etc. no. This is a different type of casual restaurant with nice ambience and some service but spectacular food that makes you want to return.

Yelp
The wait was about 15 minutes. You sit down and place your order on your phone. You can add to it as you go and close out with a tip at the end. The staff can be pulled randomly when you have questions as nobody is assigned to you. They were all friendly. I had a classic margarita with tanjin on the rim. We ordered the salsa trio which was fun tasting them all. The chips were a perfect crisp! Then we ordered brisket and shrimp tacos plus zucchini. Everything was tasty and we left full. It was a trendy cool environment with Michelin rating. Definitely a place to return to.

Yelp
I have finally made it to this still fairly new place in South Tampa. Walking in, I was very pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the restaurant. In the center there is.bar you can sit at and also watch the food being prepared. Super cool. You order via the QR code, which is something that some people still have to get used to. But it allows you to be pretty efficient. We did have a server come and answer some of the questions and she was also very attentive with anything we needed. The food came out very quick and let me tell you, The brisket tacos tasted fantastic. Ask for their own hot sauce as it is really nice. It has a very good flavor to it. I decided to also get the avocado rice and that was a good choice. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience there. This is a place you should go and check out.

Yelp
Streetlight Taco has some very tasty options. The fresh guac is so good with the raw jalapeños and lime. I was really impressed with the flavor explosion of the brisket tacos. I liked that you could order from the QR code. When we went it was extremely busy, but the service was still good. Nice atmosphere but definitely on the louder side.

Yelp
This is a new taco place in South Tampa. They have 2 tacos for $11. Plus, we got guac as an appetizer. The chips were very hard to chew and almost too crunchy to be chips. The tacos were very good and flavorful. They have you order off a QR code with minimal service, which I didn't like too much. I like using menus and people to order. The ambiance is very clean and classic. I hope they start a taco Tuesday deal to make it a bit cheaper for just 2 tacos.

Yelp
Having just been awarded Michelin's Bib Gourmand, I was really expecting something more. Service was great, fun atmosphere, decent outdoor space, but the food was disappointing. Food lacked flavor, but appreciated the fresh ingredients. I also didn't like the tacos weren't a la carte and came in pairs. In my opinion the cocktail program is probably why they were recognized because they all were impressive. For the price point, my tacos need to be on point like some of the other places in the area (Bahia, Tacos El Borracho, Bar Taco). Not sure I would come back here for the food, but a drink or two, absolutely! As the summer months approach, I wonder if the outdoor spaces will have fans or cooling systems.

Yelp
Good bones for a more upscale Mexican food experience, but still some things to work on. Streetlight Taco has been on my to-try list for a while. Tacos and tequila in South Tampa? Bring it! Because they use cellphone ordering, the experience feels discombobulated. I walked in and didn't know if I was supposed to seat myself or wait to be seated (I was supposed to seat myself). I was able to get a table for 4 pretty easily, and, while the menus are obtained via QR code and ordering is done directly that way, there were servers who could come and make recommendations or talk to the chef/bartender if you had substitution requests. We ordered the chorizo queso, the guacamole, a kid chicken quesadilla, the kid steak taco, the brisket tacos, and the carnitas tacos. We also got a frozen pina colada and a passion margarita and some Mexican sodas. The sodas came out first, within 2 minutes of my electronic submission. The chips and dip took about 5 more minutes. The kids' meals came out about 5 minutes after that, and the adults' meals took 10 minutes after the kids'. The cocktails came out in between the kids' meals and adults' meals. Both the guacamole and the queso were delicious. I recommend both. My husband loved his carnitas tacos. I thought the brisket tacos were good but a little too salty. My daughter did not like the cheese on her quesadilla and so picked out the chicken and then focused on eating lots of chips. My son really loved his steak tacos. My husband had the pina colada and enjoyed it despite generally not liking coconut. I had a sip, and it was really tasty. My passion fruit margarita was not my favorite. I'm not sure if it was the tequila used or a mixer, but something in the drink made me think of formaldehyde and former days spent in an anatomy lab. I could not drink half of my drink. As we didn't have regular servers, no one noticed to offer a different drink, and I was not inclined to try for a different paid option. Oh well. The nice thing about the electronic ordering system is that when you're done with your meal, you can close out your account and not have to wait for someone to run your credit card. I'd return for a different drink. And those dips.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this place after my first experience three weeks ago. With a Michelin recommendation and reviews about the quality of ingredients, I thought it would be perfect to celebrate landing my new job with my parents. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. The letdowns started as soon as we sat down. We were told they'd moved to online QR code menus AND ordering - not what I was expecting from a high quality restaurant. When we looked a bit lost, they did offer paper menus and a server, which we appreciated but it felt off for the standard of restaurant we thought we were visiting. The water situation was unexpected. We were given paper cups and had to pour our own water, leading to spills on the hard table (no tablecloth, just a bucket of paper towels - paper cups are light so they shift around when you pour). So we asked for proper glasses with ice, which they provided. But I was very turned off when I found what looked like gnats or dirt floating in my water. Yuck and ew. Maybe they should clean their ice machine? The real pinnacle of disappointment came when my mom took a bite of her taco and pulled a long hair out of her mouth and taco. Gross! The server apologized and brought new tacos, but I was surprised that there was no visit from a manager or offer to comp part of our meal. We didn't make a big deal of it and just tried to enjoy our food, but it felt like a missed opportunity for them to turn a negative experience around. I will say, the ingredients are indeed top-notch, and my own tacos were just as delicious as last time. Our server was also pleasant and did their best. But the overall experience just didn't match up to what we were expecting, especially given the Michelin recommendation. The contrast between the paper cups and the Michelin logo on the menu was comical - a symbol of the gap between our expectations and reality. This place clearly has serious potential. The quality of the food shows that. But the overall experience was a real letdown. With some improvements to their service, extra attention to detail, and how they handle issues, this restaurant could be truly exceptional. As it stands, though, I'm left feeling more disappointed than satisfied. What should have been a joyous celebration ended up being a bit of a dampener. Unfortunately, I will not be back for the foreseeable future. I hope they can address these issues, because with food this good, it would be a shame to see their potential go to waste..

Yelp
Casual and cute environment! You order from your phone and the food is delivered to your table. The food was yummy and came out quickly! Even though there weren't dedicated servers for each table, there were workers walking around collecting plates and checking on us. As far as food standouts, the elote and brisket tacos were my favorite! Will be back again to try out more of the menu.

Yelp
I found this spot on the Michelin guide and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is new and decorated really nice. I got the steak tacos and my fiancé had the steak milanesa. Both were tasty but with the tacos my palate was looking for something to brighten up the dish. They had a great variety of drinks and I look forward to coming back for happy hour. The service was also quick and it seems like a lowkey spot.

Yelp
We were visiting friends and family in Tampa and my cousin suggested this place and mentioned that it was Michelin recommended. The menu looked pretty good and I'm always up for trying new places. We had just flown in earlier that day so the kids were tired and cranky, which didn't help when we arrived and learned that you had to scan a QR code and order online to get your food and then a server would bring it to you. The restaurant was already packed and loud. It made it difficult to track someone down to explain our dietary restrictions and to make some of the food more kid-friendly. They also have plastic cups and a pitcher of water on the table so our 3yo kept trying to make a mess of this since he was in a mood. The server assigned to our table was very nice - I have to give her 5 stars for helping us out and being patient with the kids for sure! We started with the guacamole, elote, and the doriesquites. IMO, you can skip everything but the guacamole. That was definitely quality guacamole and I loved the presentation of the homemade tostadas. The flavors of both the elote and doriesquites fell flat. I can't remember the tacos we ordered, but I know it was the only two vegetarian options on the menu. I liked one over the other because it was spicier and had good flavors. I also recall ordering a iced-tea which was well-made. Worth checking out if you're in the area and have time. I didn't get to explore the food-scene much in Tampa so I don't have anything to compare it to currently.

Yelp
Great, clean and modern Mexican restaurant. Very good service and food was top shelf.

Yelp
Some of the best tacos I've ever had. The best shrimp taco my friend has had. The artisan mexican chocolate was tasty. And the flan sealed the deal. Server was very helpful and the inside very chill

Yelp
Streetlight Taco has quickly become my local haunt. I'm not sure what's better the food or the people, but dang is the food amazing!! Sit at the bar with Lauren, she's not only an incredible bartender who will serve you the most delectable cocktails, but she will navigate you to your hearts desires food wise. Chefs kiss

Yelp
Overall take- Delicious! We went there on a Saturday, within a week of them opening, so I'm giving them a lot of grace in this review. The place has a great buzz about it! The bar was hopping and the place was packed. The owner was in the front of the house, greeting customers and asking for patience as they navigate through their first Saturday. (Apparently there was an issue with POS terminals, which were supposed to be at each table, so the only way to order was at the Togo kiosks. They weren't allowing any Togo orders, because of this unforeseen snafu). It took about 15-20 minutes to get through the line to order. We, 4 adults and 2 toddlers, wanted to try a bit of everything, so our tab was very expensive, $160. The parking is very limited, so we parked on the street. The inside was very loud, so we chose to dine Al fresco. There are 2 patios, and with two toddlers, we opted for the larger, less busy one on the other side of the parking lot. Our food came out staggered 5-30 minutes, as the timing was a little off in the kitchen. They were out of clean silverware when the appetizers arrived, but thankfully we had some available once we really needed it. Appetizers consisted of: guacamole, queso,, a small dorito locos and the Serrano avocado salsa The guacamole was more of an avocado mash, with thinly sliced jalapeños on the side. It was very fresh, but didn't have much flavor, other than avocado. The queso wasn't full of flavor either, but I love all creamy, melty cheeses. The green salsa was incredible! (We placed a second order of this, as it was a favorite of the table) Tacos: ground beef, shrimp, steak and carnitas The tortillas were super fresh and cooked perfectly! I love how they cooked the Piccadillo under a bed of crispy yellow cheese! It was a textural delight. The steak taco was probably my favorite with the charred jalapeños. Sides: Avocado rice and borracho beans The kids devoured the avocado rice and the adults loved the borracho beans. We'll be back in a few months when things calm down a bit. Drinks: coco margarita and spicy margarita. The spicy was tasty, but the coco margarita was outstanding! It tasted as if a pina colada and a margarita had a baby

Yelp
I was pretty excited to come try this place. It is definitely more for snacking and not really for a full meal. The sizing and the portions are pretty small. It is a order yourself at a kiosk style... You take a number and food is brought to wherever you are sitting. I ordered the Carnitas taco And the corn that was like elote style. The espresso martini which came frozen. I did try my friends steak taco, and the brisket taco... The brisket one was by far the best. Overall, it was a good experience, I would go back to try some other items on the menu.
