Subrageous Subs FIU

Neighborhood grunge at South Beach PRICES!!! For years this was a favorite of mine. I hadn’t been in a long time. It’s half the size it used to be dark and cramped. The dust and dirt is caked on the fan and hanging from the fire extinguisher. It is what it is for a college dive. The shock came when the cashier charged me $25. Shame on me for not looking. I thought the price would match the locale. When I questioned it. The cashier calmly replied “you got a soda. “ yeah $4.50 for a fountain drink. POW!!! That’s about $4.25 pure profit. Never going back. The next day I had the same sub with chips and a soda in South Miami. In a pleasant feeling place that was actually clean for $17.00.

I had not been to this place for years. I am now living in the area and decided to stop by. I figured I was in the wrong spot because when I walked in it was extremely small. Apparently, it reduced in size. The ceilings and vents are filthy! The place dirty and sticky. Cleanliness at this establishment was not what it was years ago. The bread was not as fresh as I remembered. The Cheese Steak was not a perfect 10 which this place had a while back. Last but not least, $21.00 for a combo. It is clear to me that this is not the same owners. 👎

The sandwiches are great! I just don’t like the fact that they are not obligated to wear hair nets. Especially the manager.

Been coming here manyyyyyyy years. Yesterday’s sandwiches were the best so far. We had the honey mustard and cheese steak. First time having it delivered got my order fast with no issues. Driver communicated with me very well. Two thumbs up.

Ordered delivery from them, food was delivered quickly and was EXTREMELY tasty!

For 21 dollars i got a tuna sub, bag of chip and fountain soda. In all fairness at that price they should be making their own bread. Just not worth the price

This place used to be amazing back in the day, now it’s just an overpriced sub shop that isn’t that good anymore. Tell me how I spent 26 dollars for a sub, chips and cookies. Waaaaaay too expensive, I recommend outrageous subs on 40th and 87th, a lot cheaper and way better quality food. This is the last time I come to subrageous.

Honey mustard chicken sub was great many years ago and still the same today. They are friendly and fast! Place is smaller than it used to be but still tastes great. Glad they are still open.

I used to come here as a kid when I was attending FIU. I had a lot of happy memories at this location. I decided to try it out for nostalgic reasons. The food was exactly like I remember it however WOW the prices were much more. It's good food but $20 for a sub was a bit too much. The staff were very polite, cordially and very efficient. It was nice visit and the food was fresh and tasted good. Overall it's a nice spot for a sub but the steak and cheese will set you back a bit. It's a decent sized sandwich and maybe it's just sticker shock.

First time I ordered from here, the meat was fresh, juicy. I ordered the same steak sub today, June 10th and the sub was absolutely disgusting. The meat was rubbery and most likely old. Very disappointed as I was just raving about this place to a neighbor of mine.

Horrible! The lady taking the orders has the worst attitude. Will never come here again. She also treats the other employees terribly. It's so sad. Walked out of there.

Nothing like a classic sub samdwich.. Sitting in warehoue district of Palmetto Bay, this is a popular spot for all businesses around the area. Philly Pepper Jack Cheese steak and a coke was my choice of the day. These subs have always been big. Bring your appetite. Came by during lunch hoirs and the staff works reallll fast. Bread was nice and soft. Pepper jack had some kick. They have a big menu for all. Overall expereience was great

Hot Pastrami Sub 10/10 Steak sub 10/10 Meatball sub 10/10 Italian cold cut 10/10 ... There is no coincidence here, Subrageous plays no games, they just make the best subs in the business. I'd rival their sandwiches to any in the nation!

My coworkers brought me here for the first time awhile back. I had heard great things and since I work at a University and they had no classes that week, we figured we would go off-campus. We got there at the middle of the lunch rush, but by the time we ordered it had calmed down. I had the cheese steak and it was so delicious. You can watch them as they make it and they are so quick. I also ordered the seasoned fries with it but she kind of forgot about it so it was way to hard and crispy. I definitely will try this again and again!

It's definitely changed hands over the years. This place was a classic back in my FIU days. Now it's a shell of what it use to be and can no longer recommend it. Quality and service has taken a nose dive and doubt it will recover. I can only give a star for location as its conveniently located in a plaza across from FIU. There is a publix in the plaza that will fulfill your sandwich needs. 1-star for location 0- food quality 0- service 0- price 0- ambiance

Very disappointed with the quality of my order. I ordered a tuna wrap with provolone cheese and this is what I got. As you can see from the photo the quality and quantity of tuna that was put into the wrap was not enough. I paid $8 plus tax for the wrap and this is what I got. We order from here often and this was just unacceptable. Please do better for your customers especially if they pay a price like this for a tuna wrap.

Had chicken and cheesesteaks. All were great! Generous amount of meat and veggies. Soft bread. Hit the spot. Will come again.

I hate writing this review but the prices have gotten out of control and it seems like clientele has begun to notice from the lack of foot traffic during peak lunch hour. I'll continue to show up from time to time to get my nostalgia fix, but hard to justify making it a consistent stop anymore

A dollar 30 for some bbq sauce on your sub on uber eats is some bs, change your prices man

Great place to eat if you're looking for a sub sandwich. The price is a little expensive compared to other sub places like Subway or Publix subs, but it is worth it. The subs here are great! You can't go wrong with any sub you decide to eat. I used to eat here years ago and I forgot how good the subs were until I ate there recently. Definitely a place to check out if you've never been.

Is this place under new management? I remember coming here 2 to 4 times a week as an undergrad student and occasionally afterwards, the subs were very good and the place was always jam packed. I ordered the ham and turkey hot sub, It took or less then 5 minutes to make it because I was the only one there at 11:53 a.m. It was pretty good however, I ordered the combo and it was $15.83. That's pretty expensive for a so called lunch special. Also I found it kind of odd that I was standing by the register, the lady gave me a look and came running over literally to move the tip jar from in front of me lol I don't know I just felt that was kind of rude, maybe it was nothing but maybe it was. I could get more bang for my buck somewhere else, even in that same shopping plaza.

I come at 8 pm and they are closed when it says open till 10. So dissatisfied if your hungry

The #1 reason why I come here: Be warned: It's a messy eat! So make sure you take your hottest date and splatter many juices on each other. That's one way to foreplay and it's a smooth way cross that line. Aside from that great perk, the staff is fast and everything is FR3SH! The premium subs will drain you $8, for which your tummy will completely reimburse you. Thankfully, FIU students save 10%, sw33t! Unless you're a total fatass - you're going to want to split the damn sub. It's huge.

Came in around 1:30 pm on a Saturday and didn't have to wait too long before the friendly server behind the counter asked what I wanted. I ordered a cheesesteak with onions and with yellow American. Everything is prepared right in front of you and while I was waiting for mine to cook up, I was eyeballing some of the other orders they were preparing and even the cold subs looked delicious and very artfully put together. I got my order to go along with a bag of chips and a fountain drink. I was really impressed with the sandwich! There was just the right amount of cheese to beef and the roll was soft and pillowy, yet strong enough to hold all the meat inside. I could only eat half, it was huge! The only reason this gets a 4-star review instead of 5 is because of the price. Almost $15 for the three items! You can tell they use high quality ingredients but still, that's a little exorbitant.

Should update the hours on everywhere (google maps, apple maps, yelp, etc.) Very annoying to make the drive just for it to be closed. Also amazing food but absurd prices. If not enough traction, I understand raising the prices but you are rlly skimping the students and loyal customers. Attempt reasonable prices at least, not crazy high ones.

I haven't eaten Subrageous in years, I forgot how good it is! A small location which I think only has a few stools for dining in, it's more for takeout. I had the Steak Bomb - steak, bacon, mushrooms, green peppers, onions - and I add provolone cheese. Delicious!

I've been coming here for over a decade and it's always good. Love their subs. My fave is the chicken mushroom hot sub with honey mustard

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon. There was only 1 person working in this sandwich shop. It took me a good 20-30 min to finally get my hand on the sandwich. The sandwich is good, and fresh. They cook the meat right in front of you. However it didn't impress me much. The food deserve a 4 stars. But the time it take for me to get my food is 1 Star. Needless to say, it's a good sandwich shop, will comeback again if I m in the area

This place seriously blows Subway away. Hot delicious fresh sandwiches. Great service. I came here before I made a presentation at FIU law school one night and really enjoyed the meal. Is it fancy? Absolutely not. And that's the best part casual dining at its best surrounded by college students.

Subrageous! Outrageous! Outrageously good, that is.... I had always heard of and passed by this place but never really paid it any attention. In an effort to not have Subway's once again, I finally decided to try Subrageous. And I sure am glad I did. Lots of choices - I was going to split a sub with my boyfriend and he wanted the BBQ chicken sub. At first, I wasn't too thrilled about his choice because in *other* sub places, the BBQ can be very overpowering and messy. However, I must say that Subrageous' BBQ chicken sub is simply the bomb. We got the with onions, american cheese, and light lettuce on a white sub. Something we kept telling each other - "omg, this sandwich is sooo fresh". It was soo hot, chicken tasted very fresh, cheese was perfectly melted in between, onions were small and gave it perfect additional flavor, and lettuce gave it a cool and fresh crunch. Easily one of the best subs I've ever had. The place is spacious and there are many tables to sit in, unlike many other popular sub joints in Miami. The service was very friendly and attentive even though they were very busy. I expected to wait a long time to get my sub, but it was ready relatively quickly! And remember, an FIU ID gets you 10% off. The price is right given the monstrous portions and great quality. I highly recommend Subrageous -- I can't wait to go back.

Walking into this Subrageous is like walking into a factory and watching the workers on an assembly line. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, it's actually quite interesting watching how they all work independently yet as a collective group. My sandwich was made in less than 5 minutes ( I ordered an italian cold cut which needed no cooking). Pros: Quick, like service FIU students get 10% off Friendly staff They are pretty flexible about making custom sandwiches and actually encourage it. Cons: Sandwich was decent but nothing to write home about (to be fair it was just an italian cold cut) this isn't really a Con but I thought I'd mention it. Parking can be a mention during peak times.

Think about ordering a variety of sub options, I often go for the roast beef and turkey, and the employees making it to order by cooking it on a flat top right in front of your face. It puts subway to shame. They add cheese if you'd like, on the grill so it melts with your choice of meats. Add your toppings like tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and anything else you can think of on wheat or white bread and BAM! There is your sub. You can also add chips and a drink if you'd like and make it a complete meal. The subs are foot longs and It's very well priced for what you get. Pretty much the same price as what you would pay at a Subway, but way better in terms of quality and taste. When you sit down to eat it, it's hot. I mean, it was just made for you right off the flat top! They have a lot of options and combinations to choose from so it applies to a variety of different people. There are small tables to sit on one side of the joint and the order area is fairly large so there's no way it will ever feel cramped and that's much appreciated when having a meal. If you want a great sub and are in the area, I wouldn't look any further.

Great subs!! First time customer, and I plan to pass by every time im in the area. The owner was present during my visit, very humble, attentive, and over all pleasant..

I really love this place. It's fast, the service is friendly and the food is always good. SOME items are a little pricey ($7-8 & up for most chicken subs)...while others are ridiculously cheap! (ie Meatball Sub $2.89!) Walk in and place your ORDER ON THE LEFT. Slide over to the right. When they're ready, let them know what kind of bread you'd like (white or wheat) or if you prefer a wrap, the tortilla you'd like it on. They quickly grill up your order and then ask you "Lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions??" :) Yessss please! I usually get the Bacon Burger ($4.50?) or the Bomb Burger ($5.50?) but I recently tried the Terriyaki Chicken ($7.09) and it was DEEE-LICIOUS. (A little salty for my taste but overall reallllly satisfying.) I can't believe I finished the whole thing! I was beyond stuffed but couldn't resist eating it all! Great place for a quick lunch when I'm in the area.

I wish this wasn't so far from home. I happened by with Brent B after selling some textbooks to the used book store. While driving to the Smoothie King, we discovered and went for the cheesesteaks next door instead! I can't give enough compliments, but let me start with the fresh, large portions of chicken and real steak. The bread was fresh and portions were hearty. I love chicken & cheese phillies, but have not had one this good since I used to make them for myself at the philly store I worked at in high school. (yes, I know). Brent B ordered the steak bomb which comes with cheese, onions, peps, shrooms, and yes, bacon, though he opted out of the bacon. Well cooked, huge sandwiches means I will definitely be back when on that side of town!

I don't know why my coworkers don't like this place but I love it .its jut a good hot sub .i do hate the fact that it's so expensive to add veggies but overall it's a good sub place and I keep going back

The honey mustard chicken sub I had was extremely soggy and I ate it at the resturant. The chicken had fat and a piece of bone... GROSS! $16 for a sub, chips, drink, and a cookie I personally think it's over priced especially since the meal wasn't good. The lady who made my sub had an attitude every time I asked a question. Customer service was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I got food poisoning from this place 3 days ago I had to go to the hospital in how bad I felt. Make sure yal wash your vegetables right. Handle food product by food safety! !!!! You know how bad I was puking and shittting it was bad to the point er had me.in a bathroom waiting

It pains me to write this. I worked here many years ago. In fact I was hired a few days before the store opened. The place was ok clean, not immaculate. Old light fixtures, missing acoustic tile, hand written signs make the place seem dirtier than what it is My steak and cheese was ok. However $14.42 for a sub, chips, and drink is far too much. It's easily twice the cost of other places, at this price point I can have lunch in a sit down resturant with waiters and menus. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Today will be me my last visit.

Great food but not very good service. Been here multiple times & the workers are unprofessional, defiantly can improve that. I usually get their BBQ steak wrap which is great but everything I've tried has been well made.

I've been coming to this shop since I was in high school! 20yrs later they are still serving some of the best sandwiches you can have. Fresh ingredients, great service and they remember your face. I will always recommend this place and try to go as much as I can.

I hate to write this review because I've been coming here with my dad since I was a little girl. They have downsized a lot, the establishment is half the size it used to be. I ordered my usual (honey mustard chicken) the sandwich was so messy it literally oozed honey mustard everywhere. Word of advise do not take your sandwich to go because it will be a mess by the time you eat it. The sandwiches are also smaller and their prices have gone up. $13 for a sandwich with a drink and chips. You are better off going to publix in the same shopping center and getting a sandwich there. Lastly, the lady in the front I'm guessing she is he manager because she has been working there for years, always has a nasty attitude. This used to be my go to sandwich shop but if you are in the area I recommend going elsewhere

My absolute favorite place!! But the new employees are not as good as the lady who usually is there. I always get grilled chicken sub or cold turkey pero this time it wasn't throughly cooked.

Ordered a chicken parm sub, wings, and a cheesesteak parm. Only complaint I have is the marinara sauce has ZERO flavor. Just tasted like I was eating chicken and bread. Had to add salt to get the minimal amount of flavor . Don't recommend. The wings were good and the cheesesteak parm sub my husband got was apparently good too but don't waste your money on the chicken parm sub.

I used to love this place until today! The door publicizes a 10pm closing time but I got here at 9:37 and the guy literally told me they're closed and did not want to open the door! I've been a customer since I was a kid to the point that people that have worked here used to know me and wouldn't ask me for my order anymore they'll just make my usual. People have gotten so lazy that they actually close a business that's not there's super early and making them lose money and customers. So sad

The service at this location is shitty. The workers act like they don't want to be there and it is starting to reflect in the food. I ordered my food today and asked for no tomatoes. I get home and saw that there were huge tomato slices. Some at the bottom and some at the top. The acid upsets my stomach so I was a bit upset that there were so many tomatoes in my sandwich. I called to let them know and the child who answered the phone was so rude. He didn't let me talk and explain my situation. When I was able to get a word in, I let him know that my order was wrong, he placed me on hold and then, he hung up. I called back several times and NO ONE PICKED UP. What type of establishment is this? The service changed when the business changed. Bring back Sergeant Peppers!

Honey mustard chicken sub is a must try here, they put the perfect amount of sauce. I ended my meal with some chocolate chip cookies, I'll be back! - My friend had a steak bomb with BBQ sauce, it looked amazing. Definitely getting this when I come back.

Two items: Honey mustard chicken Sugar cookies Ok folks, this tasty sub is filling and a bit addicting. You only eat half because this monster sneaks up on you and before you know it you might have that post-Thanksgiving, ugh I ate too much, must fall into food coma feel Now the cookies are little Otis Spunkmyer easy bake oven or whatever and for some reason has a crack like appeal to me. My eyes light up and gloss over. I'm suddenly back to being a sugar loving kid. You cannot and will not just have one so don't even bother with these cookies. The trick is to share them.

Subrageous, I love thee!!! With your delicious subs...not as healthy as Subway but TASTIER!!! And that's all that really matters, right? Subs that are HUGE and tasty for the same price as a 6" sub at Subway? The staff are friendly and attentive. They cook everything on the spot, with few exceptions. Now I'm hungry for Subrageous!!

SUBRAGEOUS, You rule. The egg salad sub. The American sub. Yum. SO CHEAP, TOO. I can't believe how cheap it was to eat here. I'd fill up, have a great time, and chat with the ladies that worked behind the counter. they were super sweet. I LOVE subrageous so much. Omelette subs, burger subs, american, egg salad, etc. I remember one time a buddy of mine ordered the egg salad and the american COMBINED and they made it for him. craziness

Subrageous is that local sub shop that you just can't stop going to. It's a mix of a little pricy and really cheap. You have subs that can cost you upwards of 8-9 bucks or you can go crazy on the value menu and get a meatball sub for $2.89. Pay attention right now because you might get yelled at if you're a newby and don't order correctly. Order on the left and pick a sub, then tell them what type of bread and if you want sauce or not. After they grill up your order (for hot subs) they'll ask you for condiments and veggies. When you're done ordering, head to the register and pay over there. If you have an FIU ID, you get a 10% discount but ONLY if you tell them before they ring you up. Once you start going, you'll get the hang of it. You won't just go here once. The food is very good, and fresh. The broccoli steak or chicken is my favorite but i've never heard of anyone getting a bad sub over there. The portions are filling also. You won't just get a major bite of bread. Make sure you speak up though! They work fast. The owner and workers mostly speak Spanish, but don't let that discourage you if you're a gringo like me. They know what you're saying! This is your run of the mill local sub shop that will give you an alternative from all the chains in the area. Give it a shot and you'll be hooked.

This place is so good! The cheese steak is amazing and I'm sure so is everything on their menu. Price isn't too cheap. But makes up with the size of the subs. Also the Employees here are super nice! Recommended to try!

I come from South Jersey where a 45 minute drive you can pick up a cheesesteak (WIZ WID) from Philly. So I am biased. The bread was ok and felt almost stale. It was just not that good overall. I've had the burger sub, italian, and chicken cheese. Nothing else to really say about this place. Personally I would rather go to Subways or Quiznos even though I appreciate a local sub shop this isn't good enough to goto over a corporate one like Subways.
