A sushi lover's dream come true. I stayed next door and waited until my last days to check SUGARFISH off my NYC bucket list meals. I was seated quickly at the bar, ordered the Trust Me menu, then decided to go with whatever my awesome server, Katie, suggested as add-ons with her genuine enthusiasm and top-notch recommendations. Her commitment to making my meal unforgettable, knowing how excited I was to be there, was so appreciated. Out of all the places I hit during my two weeks in the Big Apple (over 30 spots, RIP to my wallet and waistline), Katie's service was hands down the best, and I had many impressive experiences. It's next-level sushi master craftsmanship here. Every single piece was a fresh flavor explosion, worthy of the acclaim and any wait. No bookings, and no tips, because this chef pays his staff a living wage. It's a privilege to support that. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience led by a master chef of tradition and quality, this is the spot. AMAZING. We had inspected the menu about 100 times before we went so we knew what we wanted, but the second our server talked through everything with us, we changed our minds. I definitely recommend getting one of the “trust me” options. You will not be disappointed. I got the Trust Me Lite and was blown away. So much flavor, high quality ingredients, and the amount of food was appropriate for the price. Very cool vibe, also. We sat at the bar which was fun, but kinda wish we had gotten a table deeper into the restaurant. The front door was constantly being opened and closed by people wanting to come in and it was very cold. Took away from the experience some, but we still had a nice time. I do recommend after putting in your name for a table, to hop across the street for a drink. It was the perfect amount of time for one cocktail.

Welcome to every basic B’s damp dream. Pros: consistency, no matter the location- it’s always the same. Including the ridiculous wait for mid level fish. Cons: tight seating, no reservations, $$$ for what it is Portion to $: 3/5 Date spot: 4/5 if your date is… “that” girl. Zero bar vibes, at the bar. Social media hype. This is the type of spot that girls from the suburbs/ Midwest/ Orange County love for loves sake.

I recently visited the Broadway branch of Sugarfish Sushi, having previously tried their Lexington location. What I love about Sugarfish is the simplicity: no reservations, no tips. If you show up before or after the lunch and dinner rush hours, you'll get seated quickly. I strongly recommend the Chef tasting menus, or as I like to call it, "omakase light." My favorite dishes include the sesame salmon and all the handrolls, but honestly, I love it all. Sugarfish Sushi has definitely become my go-to spot for sushi in the Big Apple.

Ive heard lots about sugarfish. Glad to finally try it! It was good for what its worth. Some might say its a little over priced but it is also new york. Went for lunch. It was super busy but maybe waited 10 mins? They serve as soon as the rolls are made so the rice is very warm and tasted fresh. Good quality fish they have. We got one of the combo menus which was called “Trust me.” Overall flavors are tasty and mild. I will have to say the ponzu sauce is a little strong. The one other thing I wish is the rice was cooled down just a little bit. The rice being warm does take away the flavor from the fish. Worth trying if you cant decide what sushi place to hit!

You can’t compare this to authentic Japanese sushi 😂 But this meal brought me a lot of joy and surprise. Great quality fish. The warm and overly soft rice is questionable but surprisingly matches the cold fresh fish. This is a guilty pleasure place. American style “omakase” sushi. The Panda Express of “omakase”.

High quality sushi at a decent price — would definitely come back again! We got the nozawa trust me tasting menu. I was absolutely stuffed at the end, but the guys at our table ordered one or two additional things off the menu afterwards (beware: later in the night, many items sell out). Next time I would get the trust me/lite but it was nice to try a bit of everything. Our server was super kind and efficient which is always a plus.

Couldn't sit for a minute the Resturant smelled very bad. Otherwise we were greeted by very friendly hostesses and they tried their best to help us! No clue what the food tastes like.

Great spot. Food is very fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend ordering one of the prefixed menu items which has a perfect mix of sashimi, sushi, and hand roll variety. I did the Nozawa Trust Me option and it was plenty of food.The food comes out as it's ready and it's meant to be eaten as soon as it's served, especially the warm handrolls. They don't take reservations however so plan accordingly.

We were so excited to try this place since it had very good reviews, but left feeling disappointed. We ordered The Nozawa and the Don't think Just eat, and they were both just as disappointing. The sashimi came in a very odd presentation, not sliced as sashimi but more in small pieces, which was the first huh? The rice used for the nigiris and hand rolls was warm, as well as the fish...second huh? The cuts of fish on top of the nigiris were all wrong, unless they're trying to impose a new trend? They either are trying that or they don't know how to slice fish properly.... Hand rolls were veeeeery underwhelming and basic, flavors were ok and presentation was just ok too. Service was 10/10, which is why I give the two stars.

OMG the hype is real! On a last minute whim, my family was looking for a place to eat for dinner. I heard about Sugarfish from people posting about it on TikTok, Instagram and from friends who have tried it out. I suggested Sugarfish and thankfully everyone was down to eat some omakase! We had to wait 1 hour at 7p (rush hour, understandable) and remember that everyone in your party has to be there to be seated. The sushi was fresh, tased phenomenal and served in perfect timed increments. Ambiance was a little dark but I would definitely come back. Great service as well from the wait staff!

Super fresh food and the service is amazing. I love the timing in between each dish. The hand rolls were so good! I can't remember which omakase we picked, I think it was the second from the highest. I think next time I would get a tier down because it was a little too much food for me. I started to actually feel sick at the end. Definitely will avoid that next time.

We came here on a Thursday night around 5:30PM for a table of 4. It was a rainy day so we got the last available table right away. How lucky of us! The restaurant is small and very dim. I wouldn't recommend sitting by the bar since it was so packed and people coming in and out throughout the night. I ordered the Nozawa Trust Me for $56 with a side of Hokkaido Sea Scallops for an extra $7.25. Pro tip: Sugarfish is a no tipping restaurant and the menu price already includes it. This makes Sugarfish a very affordable sushi restaurant for high quality sushi. The Nozawa Trust Me came with the following items: Edamame - This tasted different from other restaurants. It didn't taste frozen. Tuna Sashimi - So delicious and fresh Albacore Sushi Salmon Sushi New Zealand Sea Bream Sushi Toro Hand Roll - This was my favorite dish! The rice was warm and there was a lot of toro. It was recommended to eat the hand rolls right away. Japanese Yellowtail Bluefin Otoro Sushi Sea Bass Sushi Blue & Dungeness Crab Hand Roll I wouldn't recommend the Hokkaido Sea Scallops. It didn't taste very fresh and there was too much sauce that made the rice mushy. My friends ordered the Don't Think. Just Eat. Trust Me. for $72. The pieces were definitely higher quality and I thought that was better valued because it was only $16 more than the Nozawa Trust Me. There was toro sushi, lobster sushi, lobster hand roll and eel sushi. We also ordered an Nigori unfiltered sake for $14. It was refreshing and sweet, a perfect palette cleanser. The sushi pieces are bigger and the rice was more vinegary than other restaurants. The sets were so filling and a great bang for your buck. I will definitely come back to try the Don't Think. Just Eat. Trust Me. and one day to try it in LA!

Walk in at 5pm expecting the place to be empty for a restaurant in Manhattan. The place was fully packed, we got the last table. Once we started eating, we know why it's so popular. The fish was as fresh as can be sitting on warm sushi rice! Priced reasonably with great service! We did the Trust Me sushi, it was great value. But for my next visit, I will choose from their daily specials menu to try!

Great vibe. Amazingly fresh sushi at stellar prices for NYC . Went with the " trust me " which consisted of an outstanding combination of edamame, sashimi, sushi and 2 hand rolls. Service was attentive and friendly. This is a no tipping restaurant which means the tip is already factored into the already very fair price. Absolutely delicious. A plus experience - Highly recommend.

Sugarfish's quality is in between a NYC lower priced omakase and the sushi places you get at your local sushi restaurant. Sugarfish is great for those who want to step out of their California, Philadelphia or fried roll phase and try raw fish, but is not as intimidating as a chef's course at an omakase restaurant. I went during a Monday night at 5 PM, and it was completely empty. I recommend going to this place during an off hours to avoid the wait. I got the Nozawa Trust Me, and it was a great portion for the price ($56 without tax) and tip is already included in the price. They offered O-toro which is a great premium piece. Their pieces are different from other sushi restaurants as their pieces are more square, and thicker. The quality was not the freshest, but it wasn't too fishy and was bearable. The rice was falling apart which did annoy me a bit because I kept having to stuff the sushi piece in my mouth quickly and pick up the remaining rice. Overall, this is a good sushi training wheels spot but I would pay more for an omakase with better quality.

Wow wow wow I'm a fan. Went here for lunch today and it was truly outstanding. $60 pp got us tons of delicious sushi, and a fantastic iced green tea. Literally everything was fresh, flavorful, and served beautifully. I didn't even remember to take pictures because it was so good and I was having a great time. Service was solid and well orchestrated. The ambiance is fine but you come here for the excellent sushi and quality fish.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 and was told it would be a 30 min wait for 2 people. That was fine with us and we waited in the waiting area near the bar. We were surprised when our table was ready in 15 min. I got the nozawa trust me and my husband got the don't think just eat. I also added on some hokkaido scallops. Food was so good kept forgetting to take some pics. We really enjoyed our meal and will def be back. Our waiters were really nice and hospitable. Its a very intimate vibe. You are seated right next to your neighbors so be mindful of your convos. Eveyone can literally hear everything. Also an FYI - you can substitute some of your choices in the set. We only found this out when we heard our neighbors ordering and changing up the sets. This is also a no tipping restaurant.

Sugarfish is the first omakase I've been to. I decided to come here because I wanted to take my bf somewhere nice and it was a relatively accessible and affordable omakase to get into. We wanted lunchtime prices, so we came around 1 pm for the $37 Trust Me special. The food itself was phenomenal. No need for additional seasonings or courses for us. My favorite was the Tuna Sashimi, marinated in an acidic yuzu sauce. However, everything was good in its own way. Every flavor felt purposeful and complemented each other. Definitely worth more than the average sushi. Fish was also noticeably fresh and tender. I have a light appetite and I was STUFFED after the Trust Me. I had my bf eat my leftovers, which I'm guessing would've been taboo at a non-chain. There's also a $27 Trust Me Lite for people that want less. I also must shout out the service. We were in a rush to get to a concert next door at Carnegie Hall, and the servers offered to bring our courses faster so that we could get there on time. Not before other people that were waiting, just quick enough so that our courses overlapped (normally you would serve one after the other). Anyway, I would definitely recommend this place for anyone interested in budget omakase. It doesn't have the same intimacy as a "real" omakase and feels more like an average sit-down restaurant with the option for omakase. Still, it's a good first step for those looking for that experience.

If I could ever give one restaurant 6/5 stars it would be this. I love SUGARFISH. I first tried it ordering the take out boxes which were easily the best sushi I have ever had. For the price I was astonished. I have had significantly more expensive sushi but this easily topped all of them. I didn't think it could get better and then today I decided to eat in at SUGARFISH. The wait was about an hour so be prepared for a long wait time and go somewhere for drinks nearby while you wait. You get a text when your table is almost ready so it's easy to know when you should start heading over. But the sushi fresh in the restaurant is so much better. The rice was warm, the fish really popped out, and the seaweed was crunchy. The box is great when you're on the go but nothing beats the experience of eating at SUGARFISH. Everything is better. The service is also fast and amazing. When we wanted to add to our order we were able to get someone and put it in within seconds. I love the omakase style of service as well. The ambiance is great, definitely feels upscale and nice. I have literally 0 complaints. SUGARFISH is the most perfect restaurant hands down absolutely scrumptious.

A cozy, affordable spot for an omakase experience -- they serve such high-quality fish, which explains why it's so hard to get a table! They don't take reservations ahead of time, but would recommend coming in with a smaller group to get seated sooner. The ambiance is cozy and the courses come out quickly. Every single course here was SO. GOOD. My favorites have to be the Tuna Sashimi, Salmon Nigiri and Crab Hand Roll -- but truly everything was great. I'll be back soon!

The fish at Sugarfish never disappoints!! I loved their Toro special! It was super fatty, very delicious and literally melted in my mouth! Everything else was great as per usual as well, always love their blue dungeness crab hand roll! The service here was also really good. Everything came pretty fast, and the environment is clean as per usual. However, the only thing was that the rice today was a bit on the soggy side, but other than that, everything else was great.

Excellent. Service was just ok. But the sushi quality makes up for it! Ambience is cozy and intimate. We stopped in early on Friday evening and grabbed a table for 2 with zero wait.. win! My friend and I both ordered the NOZAWA TRUST ME for $56.00 it's totally worth it! Per the menu this includes the following: Edamame Tuna Sashimi - ponzu and chives Albacore Sushi - ponzu and chives, 2-pc Salmon Sushi - toasted sesame, 2-pc New Zealand Sea Bream* Sushi - citrus salt, 2-pc Toro Hand Roll Japanese Yellowtail* Sushi - lemon, 2-pc Bluefin Otoro Sushi, 2-pc Sea Bass Sushi - yuzu ponzu, 2-pc Blue & Dungeness Crab Hand Roll Very good!! We also each had a glass of wine (they only offer white) would recommend!!!

Sushi is delicious and fresh, music is good. Great time to come is mid-day when it is not busy! We had Trust Me Lunch and Nozawa Special great variety of fish.

Good quality sushi for price point. Love that its a no tip establishment even though the workers there definitely deserve tips. Great service. Had my meal automatically discounted for a supposed long wait for rolls (wait wasnt even long). Shows you the standard they hold themselves up to.

After a miscommunication re reduction in party size and the resulting 45-minute wait on a Wednesday night, we finally sat in the dimly-lit restaurant and greatly enjoyed terrific service and The Nozawa Trust Me set menu for $56.00. We were pleasantly full by the end of the 6 courses: - Edamame - Tuna Sashimi (ponzu and chives): wanted to drink the sauce - Albacore sushi (ponzu and chives), Salmon sushi (toasted sesame), New Zealand Sea Bream sushi (citrus salt): I'm not usually a salmon-sushi fan, but this salmon was perfect - Toro hand roll - Japanese Yellowtail sushi (lemon), Bluefin Otoro sushi, Sea Bass sushi: the otoro simply melted in my mouth! - Blue and Dungeness Crab hand roll Would definitely return.

Second time back at Suagrfish, and the sushi was equally high quality as I remembered. However, it doesn't really melt in your mouth like the ones I had in the village. They don't take reservations, and it's first come, first serve. We came here this weekend at 5pm, and the wait was about 30 minutes. By the time we were done, there were a lot more people waiting. ORDERED: Jenae: Trust Me Me: Don't think, Just eat, Trust Me - so filling!! The sushi was very fresh, and it was Nozawa-style. My favorites were the tuna sashimi, the first sushi plate, toro sushi, shrimp sushi, and the lobster hand roll. AMBIANCE: It was nice and modern. It has bar and table seating. RANDOM: Traditional Japanese restaurant. No tipping required since they pay their employees well.

Here's the deal: the food is amazing ! They offer some great tasting menus and a'la carte options. Inside is pretty small. There is a small bar area to eat ! Service was very helpful on menu items and attentive! Overall amazing place. Can't wait for go again

Love this place! Such amazing sushi at such an amazingly reasonable price (with the context that it's NYC). We came as a party of 2 on a Friday at 6:30. Were told it was a 1-2 hour wait and 18 parties ahead of us. We got a drink at the Redeye Grill nearby and turned out to only be a 30 min wait! They texted us to return and we got seated almost right away. We also enjoyed the nigori sake (more so than the extra dry - the first choice) but it was all so good. Can't wait to come back!

Not quite sure what the hype is for Sugarfish but I did go at 10pm on a Wednesday so maybe the food is better during the popular times? Fish was good but the rice was constantly falling apart. When soy sauce was used in the dish, the nigiri was absolutely soaked with it. Woke up in the middle of the night so incredibly thirsty from the salt despite not using any personal soy sauce of my own. Service was great though.

Sugarfish is a big name in the sushi world. I have seen the one in Beverly Hills so figured to try the one in Nyc. There isn't anything fancy about the decor but food is high quality. The toro sushi was my fav. The sashimi's are also nicely done. Nothing had a fishy taste to it and that is always a sign of top quality. The price tag is hefty but it is a high grade product. Expensive but I would come back for a special occasion.

Tasty sushi with nice plating, but the atmosphere could be a bit better. My sister and I enjoyed the Trust Me sets. The fish was fresh and delicious. I had a lot of fun eating here, but I think it was more due to the company than the restaurant's atmosphere :) They're pretty popular, so there is a wait to get a table. (We were seventh, so our wait time was up to 30 minutes but I think it was actually only 10-15. We were told that a lot of people had come midday and would be finishing soon since it was early evening.) The people working here are all nice, but it is quite a busy place and the vibe was a bit rushed. We were sitting at the bar (which allowed us to be seated sooner), but different people were throwing the plates in front of us at different times even though we were having the same set. It felt as if they wanted us to eat more quickly and didn't bother to wait for us to finish the previous plate. We were in and out in maybe 45 minutes... Back to the food--it was overall quite good. One thing that was odd was that the fish was very cold, which was a bit unusual in juxtaposition with the warm rice. But the flavor and texture was there, so I'd give the food 4 stars.

Update: Recently received a call from the restaurant group's representative. She indicated that the experience we had was very unusual and shouldn't have happened, and will fix it the next time we dine with them. Greatly appreciated! It's always terrific when a business continues to reflect on their operation and find ways to fix issues.

I kind of stumbled on this place while walking back to my hotel, doesn't even look like it's open from the outside but when I opened the door it was pretty hoping. They don't take reservations here but I got a spot at the bar. They are mostly known for their Omakase and they have a few price point options from $37-$72. They also have Al a carte and specials. The sushi was fantastic, none of that garbage cream cheese tutti fruit crap that everyone has now. This is the real deal hard core sushi and it tasted so good. They tell you up front not to dip into soy sauce even though they offer it. Service was great attentive staff and they describe what's on the plate and very friendly. Ambience was ok, is minimalistic and cramped, not well suited for big parties. It was so good I came back a week later when I was in town again. This is good sushi!

I had high expectations on this place based on the ratings but the food was not great. If you're expecting an authentic Japanese sushi experience, don't come here. I got the $48 Trust Us Nozawa which consisted of tuna, bass, salmon, sea bream, blue Dungeness crab, etc. I could tell that it didn't look or taste very authentic to Japanese sushi- the rice was overly seasoned with sushi vinegar, warm and the fish was not sliced with proper technique. Some nigris were smothered with really sour citrus ponzu sauce. The hand rolls were ok- the nori was fragrant and crisp but the blue Dungeness crab was abhorrent- it smothered with cream cheese and tasted like Costco's crab dip. I was disappointed in how gentrified the food tasted but I should've known based on how white the restaurant was.

I've been to the LA location but this was my first time trying the NYC location. Edamame: standard Tuna Sashimi: pretty good in ponzu/chive sauce Sushi: got the Nozawa Trust Me - fish were all tasty but was really overshadowed by the bad mushy/overly sticky rice (felt overcooked). Maybe that day was a bad batch of rice, but it ruined the nigiri experience. It was ok ish for the hand rolls, but the rice ended up sticking everywhere. If I can ignore the rice problem, all the fish were really good and fresh tasting. Didn't really need soy sauce. I enjoyed the actual fish flavor and textures. Might have to see if they have a Sashimi option in the future, since I can't get over the rice. In true Japanese fashion, this place is a no tipping establishment. Ambiance wise, it's very crowded and close to each other, definitely not covid friendly. The tables also don't move so there's not much legroom for the long legs family.

Love love love - my go to when in NYC. Super fresh, super tasty and great service. I usually go for the trust me and it's plenty food for me.

This place was very busy Wednesday at 7pm with an hour wait time. The servers were flying about everywhere just to get the many courses out before the hot rice cooked the raw fish too much. The don't think was a delicious array of food. While I very much enjoyed the food and kind, hurried service, it probably is a place I would only go back to just to show other sushi fans the novelty of warm rice. Ots isn't as expensive as you might think because gratuity is included.

Sugarfish, you never disappoint! I've been to the one in LA and this location has the same great quality (warm sushi rice FTW). If you have an appetite, you can't go wrong with the "Don't think, just eat. Trust me" - for $70 it is quite the deal. While not like a regular keiseki (it's minus the hot tapas dishes and only sushi), it's all flavorful and high quality! We came shortly after 5 when they opened, and were lucky to snag one of the last tables. But as we left an hour later, the lineup outside has built! A great place to go before watching a show, just make sure you get there early as they don't take reservations.

By far the most amazing Sushi I've ever had. The quality of the fish exceeded my expectations. The use of fresh ingredients and the flavor pairings made for an incredible experience, we didn't even end up using our soy sauce or wasabi! I will definitely revisit this establishment when my bank is ready for another trip.

For our last meal in nyc, we decide to check this out. The wait is around 20-30 for early dinner table around 5pm. The restaurant is modern and classy. We got the 'just eat, don't worry' course. Excellent value for quality omakase style sushi. Each nigiri pieces came into. Also, It came with two hand rolls n final unagi piece that I forgot to take a pic off. I found the sushi rice was soggy, overly seasoned with vinegar and too hot for fish. The soggy and too hot rice really interfere with the fish flavor. We ended just eating the fish without the rice. Maybe it's a one time incident. I hope that's not how they normally make their rice. Otherwise, it's a waste of such quality fish

I'm a huge fan of Kazu Nori so I was excited to try Sugarfish here in NYC. I've tried it in LA years and years ago but I wasn't super impressed - I knew I was going to enjoy the handrolls so I still looked forward to trying. Love that you can leave your phone number and be texted - such a game changer and you don't have to wait in a line like at Kazu Nori. We got the Trust Me, and added a Lobster Roll. The edamame is unnecessary for me lol but the tuna sashimi is yummy, the sauce was good. Honestly half the sushi pieces were kinda meh and the other half was decent. The rice kind of just falls apart and isn't packed well. The hand rolls as great as I'd thought but I forgot to get the scallop one which I love!!! Definitely coming back for the hand rolls when I don't want to wait in line at Kazu Nori haha.

Sugarfish is my reliable weeknight dinner spot. There's no better place for affordable, delicious, and consistent nigiri in Midtown. I frequent this location because it's close by, and the service is always super friendly and fast. I do wish that they let you join the list before arriving or had a reservation system, sometimes it can be busier and hard to get in quickly. You must order the albacore nigiri and the yellowtail nigiri. The albacore is perfectly marinated in ponzu, and the chives add a perfect amount of spice. The fish is melt in your mouth tender and very fresh. The hamachi is super delicate and light, and the lemon perfectly compliments. The edamame is good, but a pass for me. Unless you get it with a set, it's a really small serving for the price. The tuna sashimi is also nothing to write home about, I think the sauce overpowers the fish a little bit. Definitely stop in, try a few things, and I'm sure you'll be hooked too!

I am no stranger to SUGARFISH as I have visited this location before as well as the one in Marina del Rey multiple times. SUGARFISH is always a treat because you know you will get high quality fish at a reasonable price. I walked in by myself on a Saturday night about 8pm and was seated at the bar right away. It helps to come by yourself because the wait for a table of two was over an hour. I enjoy the ambience of SUGARFISH - dimly lit and modern, allowing you to really focus on the food. I ordered the standard omakase and within seconds a plate of edamame was put in front of me. As I moved through each course the next followed closely behind. Highlights for me included the salmon, crab handroll and the scallop. I love that most pieces come lightly "seasoned" with a bit of citrus, sesame seed, or soy sauce which really helps to bring out the flavor of the fish without overwhelming it. I also enjoy the contrast of the cold fish with the warm rice. As I'm writing this review I'm getting hungry. In short, SUGARFISH is not to be missed and is a nice treat for casual omakese style sushi!

This is great spot to sample some excellent fish at a reasonable price. It is right in the middle of high end and very high end, without the crazy price tag. The place is small, so there will usually be a wait. The food was very good. Fish was fantastic and service was fast. I think the menu changes a lot, so go back and sample what is fresh.

Have always wanted to try this in LA, but happy to find one in NY!! Just wanted to fill our stomachs a little and opted for the trust me lite omakase set! Our server was great :-) I loved the toro hand roll so much, it was the best part of the meal. The place is pretty small, we sat at the bar. Would definitely come back again at their other locations.

I'm truly confused by the high ratings here. Ordered the Nozawa Trust Me ($56) and added amae ebi to the set. While service was friendly and efficient, the sushi itself was just not up to par of what I'd expect from a well reviewed sushi place, especially one that bears the Nozawa name. Shari was so off for the entire set-- there was little vinegar or sugar and the rice fell apart easily. Two of the hand rolls served had hot sushi rice. The fish themselves were ok but I would not ever recommend anyone to come here to experience a proper omakase. The nice surprise was that the menu price already includes the gratuity.

My husband and I came for lunch one Saturday and did their main "trust me" tasting each. Basically a mini, slightly more casual omakase. It was fantastic. Quality of the fish was excellent and we both very much enjoyed every course. I probably could have done the "trust me light" and been full enough, but I don't regret trying more. We had a few beers as well and since it's a tip-included establishment (included in their menu prices already), still came out to right around $100, which is hard to do in Manhattan when eating A+ sushi and drinking. Will definitely be back.

Second time back at Sugarfish and I was equally happy. Greeted and seated fast. Good quality tea. Simple, yet good variety menu. Phenomenally prepared sushi at what I consider a fair price for the food quality, ambiance, service, and pace of meal. I would highly recommend and return.

Took my daughter here last night for dinner before watching Rockefeller tree lighting. We had the trust me omasake set. The sushi was very fresh except for the eel at the end. The eel was somewhat more fishy than other places I've tried and there was some bone in it. Also the rice was a bit crumby for tuna nigiri. Service was great though, we were seated quickly and the food came out quick. Our server was Lily, she did an excellent job. Very cozy restaurant too!

Amazing. Great food, great service all at a reasonable price for fresh sushi in Manhattan. We shared a THE NOZAWA TRUST ME and it included Edamame Tuna Sashimi - ponzu and chives Albacore Sushi - ponzu and chives, 2-pc Salmon Sushi - toasted sesame, 2-pc Toro Hand Roll Japanese Yellowtail* Sushi - lemon, 2-pc Chutoro Sushi, 2-pc Sea Bass Sushi - yuzu ponzu, 1-pc New Zealand Sea Bream* Sushi - citrus salt, 1-pc Blue & Dungeness Crab Hand Roll it was perfect for us to share and we added a couple of hand rolls. There was plenty fo food for two people. And the good news is if you need more you can add sushi or rolls from the ala carte menu. The sushi was super fresh and presented beautifully.

Overall: Always a hit! I've gone multiple times. It's always fresh and I've had a great experience at multiple locations. Very consistent. They also have a great carry out option in a cute little box! Reservation: Walk in! Service: Nothing noteworthy Ambiance: It's a nice restaurant. Very reasonably priced, but the vibes feel nicer than the cost in a positive way. Food: Always get the Nozawa Trust me. The crab handroll is always my favorite and the marinated tuna is amazing. It doesn't seem like a ton of food at first but I always leave full.

I love Sugarfish, so much so I can probably have it every week... two times a week! Love their straightforward menu options and their crab hand roll is what keeps me coming back. I have ordered to go a bunch of times and also dined in plenty. Every time a solid experience and will remain a favorite in my book
