The Best Restaurants To BYOB In Chicago

"Sultan’s Market serves affordable, tasty Middle Eastern food in Wicker Park. We like the falafel and shawarma sandwiches, but the platters are a solid order as well. If you really want to take advantage of Sultan’s, pick up some beer and grab dinner on the small patio in the summer." - josh barnett, adrian kane, john ringor

After I taste the Shawarma sandwich from this place, I fall in love with the flavor of this sandwich. I tried shawarma from other places and this is the best, besides the deco, the athmosfere makes me feel like I am at one of this little towns from Italy. We tried most of the menu and everythig was great, I never received a cold plate like other people complain about. The prices are great, Liz and Alex (I believe are their names) they are GREAT. I don't post just to post, I post when a place deserve for their quality and service. An Update... Just to mention, this is the best place for shawarma sandwiches. I Love it

The chicken is great. The lamb is okay. Skip the kofte, it's tragically bad. Good pita, good hummus, good rice, good sauces and plenty of fresh parsley salad to go around. Portions are generous. Recommended.

My first time eating there today on my lunch break from work. I was in and out in 10 minutes tops and my falafel sandwich (which was only $6) was amazing!!! Fresh and loaded with deliciousness!!! This is my new spot for Mediterranean. Give it a try and it will be yours too!

I spent a good sum of years working my *ss off at the six corners. Underpaid, hungry, I could ALWAYS go to Sultan's and get the most DELICIOUS bang for my buck. I'm making a slightly better living now, but cannot leave this place behind. Always a staple for me. The kind of meal that comfortingly sits in your stomach the same way your moms cooking does. The staff here are incredible, the food is incredible. Perfect place to dine alone or bring in a few friends/family. A TRUE Chicago staple. Love this place! Thank you guys for all the tasty meals! <3

One thing we love about Middle Eastern food is that there are so many great vegetarian options as well as meat dishes so everyone can get what they want and still feel satisfied. At Sultan's Market, this is especially true and their large menu variety proves it! We tried a lot of different menu items because we couldn't decide on just a few things. Everything looked, smelled, and sounded so good when we got here (and ended up tasting amazing too!) The menu is very reasonably priced as well! Starters: Baked Spinach Pie, Baked Meat Pie, Baked Egg & Cheese Pie, Baked Zattar Bread (they warmed these up for us and we tried them all right out of the oven, they were delicious!) Soups: Gradma Zarifa's Lentil Soup and Mama Masada Chicken Soup (both were tasty and perfect for the cool weather) Entrees: Falafel Sandwich (I could eat this everyday for lunch), Vegetarian Combo Dinner with Falafel, Tabouli salad, and Curry Rice, Meat Combo Dinner with Lamb Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma, Kefta Kabob, Tabouli salad, and Lentil Rice Sides: Pita bread with Hummus and Baba Ganuj Dessert: Baklava (if you know you know) We went to their new location in Logan Square and were blown away by how nice of a space it was! They have a beautiful interior, with a large patio in the back, and even tables on the roof. We want to go back at night to see the lanterns lit up!

Parents beware!!! This location does not have high-chairs. So I had to sit my 2 year old on my lap while I ate and fed them, while trying to dodge them from swiping food from my fork. I had to distract them by having them eat the almost stale pita bread. Had the chicken shawarma meal and the lamb shawarma meal. The chicken was quite tasty. The lamb was dry and lukewarm. Very disappointed. Will not come again. Just go to Chipotle or your nearest Roti.

I made a large order for falafel and the person coordinating made sure that I got them fresh and hot. I also ordered shawarma and the selection I wanted was still cooking, the staff brought the food to my table when it was ready. The staff has been very kind and I like that you can see the shawarma from the window to make your choice. The lentil rice is also unique, it's one of my favorite rice dishes, and one you don't see often. Overall the staff and food is great.
