Wow, what a five star experience all around! We were celebrating a birthday, and this meal was absolutely delightful. Everything was masterfully cooked to perfection. My favorite dishes were the chicken ramen (ending dish) and the chicken heart! Everything tasted extremely fresh and so naturally flavorful. I can’t recommend this place enough. Our servers, Lucy and JT, were great. The chefs were phenomenal. So much skill in their art!

Tried Sumibiyakitori Kidori for the first time and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is cozy and feels authentic. The chicken wings were my favorite — perfectly grilled, crispy outside and juicy inside. The ginkgo nuts and other skewers were also nicely done. You can watch the chef grill everything right in front of you, which makes it more fun. Service was friendly and the overall vibe is relaxed. A great spot to unwind and enjoy some good yakitori. I’ll definitely be back.

Temple city hidden 💎, charcoal grill yakitori. If only reservations were easier to get I’d come more often 🥺. My favorite was the chicken liver pate, it was smooth and a bit sweet and savory just perfect. Wish I could just buy a jar of it 😆 Overall everything was season just right enough to bring out the natural flavors and charcoal flavor. My 2nd favorite was the soft boiled quail egg. 🤤 Parking is plentiful but be there on time else you won’t get the full service experience. It’ll feel rushed. The omakase set was perfect portions by the end you’ll feel full. There is the option to order more at the end if you feel hungry. My only issue is the restroom you have to go outside to sushi kisen next door to use the restroom.

Excellent dining experience here! We were visiting from out of town and wanted some yakitori, booked a reservation, showed up, and realized it was for the wrong day! They were accommodating and fit us into a sitting because our flight was the next day. Each course was beautifully prepared and delicious, and they took extra care to cook the skewers to well done for my wife since she is pregnant. A real hidden gem, up there with the best yakitori I’ve had in NYC and beyond, it’s that good. The staff were excellent, and the vibe was upscale but comfortable, chic, engaging, and fun. Will be back again from now on every time we are back in LA!

This is a hidden gem right next to Chef Tony. There's no sign, so you need just know it's there. You will need to make a reservation by following them online. There's only 12 seats, so it might be difficult to get one. If you do, it's a treat. We had the $80 selection, which comes with 10 kinds of yakitori skewers. All chicken parts and some veggies. We added a few extra add ons as well, like chicken skin, cartlige, mountain yam. You get to choose a rice dish for the ending--porridge, donbridon, or chicken ramen. They also give you egg pudding for dessert. Nice service as well.

A brand new restaurant by the same owners as Sushi Kisen next door. Omakase is $80 but you are free to order additional skewers at the end. As this is so new I believe there are still minor kinks to be worked out, but overall the experience was positive enough that it warrants five stars. Environment: a very typical minimalist vibe, with dark green accents here and there. Personally this is the least important aspect of my overall experience, but as a yakitori restaurant, I will specifically mention that they have done a very exceptional job in smoke venting. There was not a hint of that during nor after on my clothes. This cannot be said for all yakitori places. Food: I did not see any mention of the breed of chicken used. If it was on the menu I missed it and it was not pointed out to me. Interestingly there is a Japanese (kanji) sign stating Japanese rice is used here but rice only appeared in 2 choices of the closer course (as one would expect). Having said that, we found all the skewers perfectly cooked. I can smell the slight hint of charcoal smell (binchotan?) on the meat skewers. Of particular impression are the heart and gizzards, though I’m partial to those parts to begin with. Also impressive were the liver and quail egg, the latter of which achieved a runny yolk state, a very impressive feat. For my American companions the skins, thighs, and negima were favorites, though I wonder if it is a matter of their regrettable childhood devoid of dishes made with meat innards. The oyakodon closer was slightly saltier than expected. With 3 extra skewers we left feeling fuller than expected. The drinks choices were limited - I would have loved to have a highball instead of a beer. Service: while i can see the effort by the staff to provide excellent service, there are some procedural changes that would improve the overall experience more. 1. Proactively bringing back the menu earlier before taking tsuika/a la carte orders so there is more time to decide what else to try or repeat would be better. 2. Letting the server bring non-skewer dishes around to the customer (rather than the sous-chef placing them on the counter) - half our group sat in front of the sous-chef prep area, and there were some awkward moments where the food was placed in front of us but the server reached over to bring the plates down to us. This did not in anyway affected us negatively, just a matter of smoother operation. 3. Upgrade to Spotify premium-it was jarring to hear an ad in the middle of the meal. 4. At least during winter it’d be nice if the oshibori was hot. Again just a very minor detail that I would’ve preferred.

A friend took me to Kidori during their soft opening and I had to bring my husband back! This is a cozy, intimate Yakitori omakase experience. The restaurant itself has around 12 bar seats and courses are timed so be punctual (they let you in at the exact time of your reservation and no earlier). Yakitori options were mostly chicken based but the number of ways they cook and prepare it is impressive. I don’t even really like cartilage or chicken skin but I ate all of it here! Nice selection of sake and japanese beer as well that I haven’t seen elsewhere. The dishes/skewers may look small but both of us were completely stuffed by the end. You can also order additional items a la carte. The staff is kind, mindful, hardworking and craft oriented. You can tell they take pride in their work and that they’re a favorite with locals :)
